It pains me to do this but the communication with this company is an absolute nightmare not to mention the fact that their hotel rooms are a hazard to health. Our room was filled with mould! I reported it to the hotel on the 31st of October and they promised me a refund during my stay. After much back and forth and asking when I would receive the money, still nothing. I gave them plenty of opportunity to rectify the situation but they clearly do not care. Thanks a lot and Merry Christmas.

The room was okay. The stay was nice and what you expect for 55 a night. The place needs tidying up and a lick of paint. The pool was okay but there are tiles missing. The jacuzzi was cold.

We had the pleasure of getting married at New Place Hotel in October! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning surroundings at the venue, we just knew it would be the perfect backdrop for our special day. I have to give a huge shoutout to the amazing staff, especially Jacinta. She was a total lifesaver! From the very beginning, Jacinta was so friendly and welcoming. She helped us navigate the planning process, especially when we had to change venues just six months before the wedding. Talk about stress! But Jacinta was there every step of the way, making sure everything went smoothly and that we felt comfortable. On the big day, Freddie took the reins, and she was simply fantastic! She was always around to help with anything we needed, and her cheerful presence made everything feel so relaxed. Freddie went the extra mile to check in on us and our guests, ensuring that everyone was having a great time. We truly couldn't have asked for better support! The venue itself was breathtaking and we got some amazing photos!! We held our ceremony in the beautiful dining room. The Arden suite is great with it being separate from the main building as we had so much privacy and had plenty of space for all our friends and family. So many guests commented on how lovely the place was. The food was absolutely delicious! Our guests raved about the menu, and the service was spot-on. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, which made everything feel just right. Reflecting on our wedding day, we are so grateful to Jacinta, Freddie, and the whole team at New Place Hotel for making our dream wedding come true. We can’t thank them enough for all their hard work! We’re already counting down the days until our anniversary stay because we just can’t wait to come back!

This was my second visit to New Place Hotel. A large group of us visited for a family holiday. Sue in reservations was fantastic and looked after us so well in the run up to our stay. All the staff at the hotel were fantastic and made us feel most at home. Food and facilities all spot on. Highly recommend!

Maybe it’s me but I felt duped by the website photo - suggesting accommodation in a grand building - not Butlin style rooms in a separate block. But. Maybe that’s just me. The bedrooms are very well appointed but I’m sorry to report mine had a foul stench emanating from the bathroom . It got worse I thought - and was a real downside .

My wife and I got married at New Place in 2017, a wonderful occasion that New Place couldn't have made better, but as my wife has worked evenings for many years since then we hadn't had a chance to go back. So, for our seventh anniversary, we decided to book a table in the Harley's restaurant for dinner to celebrate and relive some of the memories. Oh dear... We arrived slightly early but were seated immediately which was good, but then things started to go downhill. Our table was positioned next to the fireplace but so close that my wife's seat was partly on the carpet and partly on the stone hearth area. We also had to move the table over because her chair back was practically touching the back of the chair of the table next to us (where another couple were already sat). The staff working the restaurant all seemed to be quite junior and there didn't seem to be any manager's around. The waitress took our orders quickly but then we had to wait a good ten minutes before our wine arrived. We had to pour the wine ourselves, there was no asking if anyone wanted to try it and I had to ask for a replacement glass as one had a smear on it - which was done quickly to be fair. At this point we were one of only 3 tables seated in the restaurant. We then proceeded to enjoy the wine as other tables came in, were seated and orders taken. After half an hour we were beginning to wonder where our starers were (a Venison Scotch Egg and Soup) and other tables who had arrived after were getting their starters before us. We waited another 15 minutes, by which point all the other tables who had come in after us had got their starters, and I flagged the waitress down to ask if ours would be arriving soon. She apologised and said they wouldn't be long. I observed one of the other waitresses serve a table and then proceed to put some food in her mouth and wonder out of the room whilst chewing, which I found quite astounding. After another nearly half an hour of waiting (this was nearly one and half hours after we ordered) we had pretty much finished the wine and our starters hadn't arrived. At no point did the waitress come back to update us or check on us, ask if we wanted more drinks etc (we barely saw her), although we did observe some worried side glances towards us from and conversations between her and a couple of the other waiters / waitresses. When one of the large tables who had been seated and ordered significantly after us received their mains it was the last straw and so we got up and left. No one was even around to explain why we were leaving. Not a great way to rekindle our wedding or spend out seventh wedding anniversary - we felt extremely let down and clearly under trained staff were being left to run the place. We left hungry and frustrated, our lovely memories of the venue completely ruined by such a poor experience - at least we like kababs!

When you approach New Place it’s not exactly clear where reception is. You face the main house on entering, but no signage? We followed the road, turned left (just by guessing) and stopped by some Tesla chargers. Reception was on the right! Our room was very close by in block 1. The room was like a chalet. Perfectly fine and comfortable. We had dinner included in the deal we had. The dining room was amazing, with paneled walls and paintings. The food was superb. We had crab arancini and pigs cheeks to start. Both of us had belly pork for main and it was 10/10. Desserts were lovely - rum pineapple with coconut and espresso tiramisu - but basic. After a good night sleep we had breakfast the next day. A mix of a muddled affair, with staff not really focused on any one task. No one to show you to a table. The breakfast items were buffet style and although of good quality, they were tepid unfortunately. Coffee from a machine. Everything kept running out and staff couldn’t keep up. A shame after such a good dinner. The staff throughout the stay were great in the main. We would definitely return if in the area.

Booked the Court for a family christening with 35 guests.. Genuinely bowled over by the event laid on by the New Place staff- nothing at all was too much and everyone went above and beyond to make sure that we had an exceptional day... The Food was outstanding, stunning grounds and a well organised and slick front of house team. It's great to see the NP Hotel on the up, this will be an absolute gem in Hampshire in the years to come- we can't wait to return and won't hesitate to book our next event there again. A Big thanks to Alex, Jacinta and the implacable staff for the most memorable day!

We had a great 2 night stay here. Our room was dog friendly and on the ground floor which was perfect for us. Very clean and well looked after. The hotel grounds are absolutely gorgeous and there is a very nice woodland walk so great for dogs/children. We found a park a short walk away from the hotel too. The restaurant food was great we had three courses and every course was beautiful. The bar food and breakfast was also great. I did think the bar food was a little expensive when you just want to grab a quick lunch if you're having an evening meal later on but the food was nice so didn't feel too begrudged in the end. I'm from Yorkshire so maybe it's just me being tight... Overall great rooms and facilities facilities and we would stay again.

We stayed 2 nights to celebrate our 1st years wedding anniversary with friends. As you enter the manor it feels very grand, parking can be a little challenging they do with parking lines to allow more cars in, but can understand why they don’t as it’s gravel. We paid for dinner when we checked in as it worked out cheaper. Then we go our room key, I paid for an upgrade on our room so we could have a bath. The hotel room was fresh and clean, the bathroom looked newly done and is well maintained, although the bath was rather small so if your 5’9 like myself your not going to be able to lay in the tub. They also made up the bed with towel art and rose petals for our anniversary, which I thought was a really lovely touch. We were on the ground floor (room 91) we could hear the people above are walking around their room, so if you are a light sleeper I’d recommend asking for a room that is either on the top floor or bring ear plugs. The food in the restaurant both dinner and breakfast is lovely, there is plenty of variety to please any appetites. The mocktails were also lovely, shame that there wasn’t any 0% alcohol gin, but that’s more my personal preference. Overall lovely and would come back again.

Easy to find, good parking if you get there early... otherwise it is absolutely atrocious (stepped out of the car straight into a 4" puddle so my feet were wet for the evening). Lovely grounds and a nice building. Mapping and signage - where to find facilities, rooms etc... absolutely awful. Directions to Reception & Restaurant are very vague. Couldn't find a map of fire muster points anywhere obvious. Example: map in a car park... how about a "You are here" arrow! Breakfast.. very nice, well catered and laid out. Excellent service with really lovely and helpful staff. Evening meal... tasty but miserly portions and a high price for basically not very much at all. Had to order extra chunky chips to make our meals a reasonable portion size ... £74 ... staggering. Nowhere to buy a snack in the evening, even biscuits, if you need something with medication unless you are a dog. What's with the doggie ice-cream for sale but nothing for humans? Posh doggie washing facilities... we haven't seen a dog on site at all! Ate out second night in a local pub. Excellent two course meal for two, tea before & after - £55 and we did not clear our plates. Room... don't bother bringing a cat to swing. Bed - standard double with very little room left to walk around the room. Tiny bathroom. Wall TV, 1 chair. Premier Inn and Travel Lodge rooms have more room and their beds are larger as well. Tried to phone Reception... no answer. Asked about this to a member of staff and was told "Oh its always like this, they never answer"... so what happens in an emergenc, guys? Someone needs to do some serious thinking about quality.

The hotel is located on the outskirts. And so much for the positives as far as the alleged 3 stars of this hotel are concerned. Photos from the website are distorted and appropriately enlarged. The rest of disadvantages: 1. the rooms are small, neglected, with destroyed or damaged equipment starting from damaged baths, windows, carpets which have not been repaired after pouring, all-pervading spiders and, in addition, ants. 2. meals served in the hotel is a mockery of the customer. Breakfasts were deficient - at an occupancy of over 40 persons there were boards with 8 slices of ham and cheese! Tea served from the back of kitchen while coffee was generally available. You don't even know what kind of tea you are getting! English breakfast - sometimes not cooked and sometimes too much. Especially bacon, but also scrambled eggs I have seen in such a state. At lunchtime on the floor visible remains of breakfast trampled into a carpet. Total lack of variety in dinners. Prices in bar immorally high. £21 for a chickenburger?!!!! 3 The staff could not cope with most tasks. From breakfast preparation to cleaning. Morning Reception and seating of hotel customers at breakfast purely haphazard - one time they waited and asked for room number another time they did not. Confusion. And this confusion came out only in the evening. In bar they confused, forgot and made to wait for an eternity to change. Tables dirty, sticky. 4. pool was the smallest problem, but even in case of modest number of guests (let us say 30-35 persons in hotel) if 10 wants to go to pool and use sauna, hot tub and swimming - forget about pleasure. Crowding! If you think about this hotel in terms of rest or staying for more than one night, I advise you to think carefully.

I chanced upon this venue simply by looking for a last minute deal courtesy of Google Maps. The price was a very reasonable £67 for a double room en suite for a Monday evening stay which considering its rural location in the Hampshire Horsey Belt is very good value. The hotel itself is a former Victorian looking manse dating from 1904 with the outbuildings apparently having been transformed into a combination of apartments and hotel rooms. The gardens and interior were originally by Lutyens and it shows. There is a gym and pool attached but I didn’t avail myself of these facilities so can’t comment on these. My room was compact but perfectly comfortable with a very nice en suite with walk in shower all tastefully appointed and in very good order. The bed though soft, turned out to be very comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. My slumber was assisted by a few pints of Guinness in the Lutyens Bar whereupon I had my dinner too. This consisted of a smoked mackerel starter (which disappeared in seconds as I was hungry combined with being a small serving), but as an amuse bouche it served its purpose. This was followed by a chicken supreme with potatoes and green beans. I found the food to be average value for what it was and the servings to be a little “cordon bleu” for my taste. However whilst the food wasn’t anything special, it was eminently passable and did its job although I did go to bed thinking about my breakfast…. The restaurant and bar is located in the main manor house which is an impressive period erection, swathed in a gravel drive that Downton Abbey would have been proud of and which certainly puts Farkhem Hall to shame. Pulling up in the car park, my aged Range Rover certainly felt at home crunching sedately into a parking space underneath the trees. I had a chat with a lovely couple with their dog in the bar after dinner who were also just stopping overnight and they were equally impressed by the building. (Well, not sure about the dog’s opinion but you get my drift!). Being a conference centre, I strongly suspect that this establishment has a fair throughput of guests at times and the condition of some of the paintwork in areas of high traffic such as landings and hallways was a little tired but this in no way detracted from my short stay. The location is very picturesque, peaceful and has everything a weary traveller needs for a comfortable overnight stay. Overall, considering the facilities and its location and presence, I found this hotel to be Very Good value, especially when viewed through the lens of comparison to some of the naff dives I occasionally have to stay in whilst in London at almost double the price that purport to be upmarket when they are clearly anything but. This establishment however does possess character, charm and period heritage, even if it is only just over a century old. Recommended 👍

from the moment we arrived check in was easy our room was clean and comfortable. our friends arrived it was a lovely day so we took our prosecco from the room into the garden and spend a nice hour or so chatting the grounds are stunning. We then spent some time relaxing in our room before going for dinner the choice of each course was vast the food freshly cooked and stunning. The dinner rooms are small and intimate with not too many people squashed in was a delight. the bar was welcoming and nice for a nightcap. Breakfast the next day was great a good choice of cereals, pastry's and choice of what cooked breakfast you want, no rush to get out and it just made a lovely weekend as we were celebrating 35 years as friends.

Staff where fantastic! The grounds where beautiful and lots of wheelchair and pram access. Although the room we stayed in was boiling hot we had no air conditioner considering the amount of money they get you’d assume they’d get that built into the rooms, there was mould on the bathroom ceiling the door knob was broken, family room is tiny my poor little boy was roasting in the room. It’s very miss leading you’d think the rooms you stay in over night where in the main building but they where outside and out the way.
