The best restaurants serving British food in London

A meet up with friends before going to football and my first visit here. Good selection of Lagers and Ales, pleasant atmosphere and a very clean premises, the good thing about "Spoons" s you get genuine value for money!

Coeliacs? Take your chances! Love Kew. Members for years. First visit since becoming Coeliac. No labelled GF options. On investigation, this was not obvious, some salads, were available, but were self service and cross-contamination was rife. Assistant didn't initially understand this but kindly went and got me some fresh from the kitchen. No cakes or sandwiches were available in any restaurant. Disappointing really.

We visited on a very busy Saturday night - bouncers were quick to de-escalate a potential situation in a calm way which was great to see. Also barmaid Lucy needs a special mention for such great customer service!

Probably the worst pub I’ve been to in London. We ordered a number of drinks rum and coke. Paid no coke terrible service. What else I can say about this pub.

Avoid at all costs the staff is rude the food absolutely disgusting and the waiting time at the bar until the staff finished chatting with each other was over 10 minutes never again it is filthy the toiletts are a disgrace as well i rather pay more in a decent place

This spot is great for social and private gathering, big open spaces and amazing food have been many times. It has a timeless atmosphere and amazing food

I am so grateful to the staff here. I had taken my mum for a day out. She is frail and the café is perfect - nice food, good disabled toilet, good parking and in the park. I suddenly realised my purse wasn't in my bag. The counter staff did not recall it being handed in. I assumed that looking after mum my attention had not been on my bag and the purse0 had been taken. I was just starting to cancel my cards when a man ran up. The purse had been left on the table(!!!) It was in the office. A dreadful experience but switched in a moment to confirming this is a lovely place to go. THANK YOU.

Unbelievably rude staff. After waiting at the side of the counter for about ten minutes for a coffee, I went to see what had happened to it. There were two staff members dancing away. With the manager walking by without a care in the world. I asked the poor girl at the till if it was on its way, at which point one of the dancers got really stroppy and made me the coffee. She then made a show of taking it all around back to the other side of the counter in some kind of pathetic attempt at punishing me for daring to disturb her dance practice. The manager was standing by staring at me with a smirk on her face in solidarity with her friend leaving the girl at the counter squirming with embarrassment. Apart from the girl at the counter, the staff are simply ignorant and unpleasant people. I was the only costumer but clearly I was asking way too much of them when I asked for a coffee. Don’t bother with this place, go to the hut next to the stage in the park. They are always lovely there.

All that work they put in and it just didn't feel any different. Such a shame. They menu was dull and the food sounded fussy. The drinks were overpriced and not that great. The DJ played the same tunes and the seating was impractical. The nicest bit was the toilet that was immaculate and that made a change.

Chaotic serving area though staff were doing a fair job. Wanted to order some of the nice looking cake but it was displayed unprotected just inches from the faces of queuing customers so wasn't going to take the risk with COVID and colds about!

Calls itself a bar, kitchen, but customers can't order at the par and have a "discretionary" 12.5% service charge. That is not a bar. No are conditioning available, despite it being a hot day and clearly having air conditioning units. No gluten free beer, which is unacceptable in 2023 London (especially Hackey).

Relaxing atmosphere with good food and drinks. There was great service from friendly staff. Love the decor.

Visited on Monday around 12 noon for brunch. Food was good but service was really bad. Asked for the table to be cleaned which meant dabbling here and there without giving a good clean. Ashtray wasnt emptied. Really wanted to show the waiter how to clean a table properly. He came across as lazy and like he didnt really want to be there. When we asked for the bill , it was as if I'd asked him for £100. This was my first visit and my last visit.

Stale cake, ice cream tastes of nothing, the portions are made without any care. I wouldn't order from here again. Very disappointing

Rude and abusive bar staff, manager not interested when complained to. Will not use again,never had this sort of welcome in any other weather spoons.
