I ordered the fish and chips After a longish wait it arrived the batter was so hard I think it had been double cooked. The fish was chewy. So obviously overcooked. The mangeress came over and asked what’s wrong I said the batter is rock hard and the fish is chewy it’s been over cooked she then said (very rudely) but u have eaten the fish it’s only the batter on the plate I then proceeded to show her the fish which was on my plate and said obviously I have eaten some or how would I know it’s chewy ? I said to her taste a bit of the fish on my plate she was very very rude and said wat do u expect me to do u have eaten some of it I don’t expect to be spoken to like this when out for lunch

This pub is a disaster They are incapable of serving a decent pint of Abbot ale. Go to the Sovereign in the sea and you will get a perfect pint. Been going for about 10 years but never again. Go to Pett Wood

You do get what you pay for here, very cheap eats although even for them you do not expect your food to come out freezing cold. And it was literally freezing cold food alcohol prices on the other hand 10/10 you will get drunk for less here

Came here after wembley, Bromley just got promoted. Was "told off" and threatened to be thrown out for being too noisy. Seriously. Horrible manager, so Miserable, how she has a job in a pub is beyond me. Won't ever go back and urge others to avoid.

This is my local Spoons I go hear somewhat frequently and never had a problem. Staff are friendly and helpful and it's kept clean. The food is great as well! It can be very busy at times butI plan around that.

So popped in here for some lunch ordered on the app drinks came quite quickly the food came up snotty eggs beans looked like they had Been heated over and over again but still edible now the staff they seem to have a dress code all black and one person was in jeans and a shirt think he was called nick his jeans were dirty and creased as was the shirt now when your serving people food at least be clean and well presented other members of staff had really shirt skirts on and had yo keep pulling them down and when she bent over to clean the table well moonie came to mind then it started to get busy and the chef lost some customers order and didn't have any left to replace it the chef was making up peoples food spooning it out to put on burgers got it on his fingers licked it off then went back to making up the burgers bit of a shambles really other than that I will go back

Awful bar staff he only seemed to be able to use words “eh” , “what” “dunno” Not a great example on welcoming customers Previously I’d always encountered friendly staff

I came to visit this pub for late lunch yesterday 13-7-23 at around 3pm with a disabled resident that I support, on arrival the Manager told a young worker to clear a table, the worker asked what table and he roared at him the table you just walked past now it was not what he had asked him to do, but the way he told him, I actually asked the young man was this his manager I was disgusted at the way he spoke to him and in front of customers if I was this young man I would have picked the plates up and threw them at him, and walked out, what gives you the right to speak to anyone in this way manager or not. Another customer committed he must’ve got out the wrong side of the bed today, I feel this is very unacceptable to be talking to your staff in this way at anytime and especially in front of customers this made me feel very uncomfortable. If we wasn’t in a hurry I would have walked out and gone somewhere else, I will think twice before going in there again. unacceptable behaviour from the manager. All other staff friendly food lovely.

Slow service. The staff are more interested in having a laugh among themselves and prancing around behind the bar, rather than serving customers, which is their primary role. I like to support Wetherspoons as they champion real ale and I agree with a lot of Tim Martin's morals but will take my custom elsewhere to get better service, even if it means paying more for a pint.

Ordered a pint of coors light and it was served cloudy funny taste like cider and smelt of apple took it back to the bar staff explained that the pump at the top of bar was playing up they then pulled me a pint from another pump at the bottom of the bar just the same I was then told this is how the coors is ! What a badly brewed batch that shouldn’t be sold containing to much Acetaldehyde this can’t be correct can it

Ordered three large breakfasts.. they came... eggs were so overdone that you could throw them as mini frisbees and brown underneath. Asked for better eggs which did arrive within ten minutes. Meanwhile we ate or attempted to eat the ONE small mushroom that was served whole with the breakfast. All three mushrooms were raw and looked like they had been put on a grill for less than 20 seconds top down. The bar manager insisted that's not how they are cooked but how else can you explain such awful quality of food. Completely uncooked inside. The photo shows the mushroom cut but that was where I cut it to get the photo attached . I tried to eat some of mine but ended up spitting it out. You cannot serve raw mushrooms with the classic big breakfast. When we asked why the mushrooms were raw the chef and the bar manager said it was because they were not their usual mushrooms and were bought in from sainsburys. So we asked "what does that mean? Does the chef not know how to cook mushrooms?" I suggested that he should have at least sliced them then they would have cooked. The bar manager just frowned and walked off. A short while later the waitor came out with some, what looked like squashed slightly overcooked mushrooms cooked in way too much oil. Bacon was cold and overcooked and shrivelled up resembling something like pork scratchings better served as a pub snack than a large breakfast. Awful taste of burnt. My husband then went to have some toast. He picked up a packet of lurpack to spread on and it wasn't even open yet some unsightly liquid oozed out of the packet somewhere. It looked disgusting. See photos. The only part of the breakfast any good was the sausages. Sorry to say but I'm never eating in another Wetherspoons again. This is the second Spoons I have had to leave a bad review because of unsatisfctory breakfasts and poor standards. My advice is find somewhere else to eat. Wetherspoons has gone downhill rapidly

You get what you pay for. Simple food, decent quality, good value for money. The place was busy but service was still quick.

We went on Friday evening and it was busy. We ordered a main meal each and a drink using the app. The food came before the drinks. The drinks arrived after a 30 minutes wait, I'd ordered a pint of pepsi max with no ice and got half a pint with ice. I qued at the bar and got it changed. We then ordered puddings and another round of drinks. The puddings arrived but no drinks, I qued at the bar again to be told it was busy and drinks were taking about 30 minutes, we'd already been waiting 30 minutes. After 45 minutes I complained and was told it was busy, I got a refund for my drinks as had had enough. Don't think I would bother going in again

This tall girl with purple hair provide me a 10/10 service and was very attentive. Someone gave me a single instead a double that I paid for and she sorted it out straight away. Would definitely come back for that service.

Good range of real ales(6). That was about the only positive. Used the app to order and waited 10 minutes without any sign of a beer. Had to go to the counter to remind the staff. Used the app 3 further times and each time it took between 8-12 minutes. Ordered food on 3rd occasion and that turned up before the drink, however it was barely warm! Returned it to the bar and appeared again about 10 mins later with chips only marginally warmer! There was no apology on any occasion and only one staff member was anything other than sullen. Having been to several Wetherspoons pubs I don’t have high expectations but there was nothing approaching average about this visit

Lovely staff. Only one person I have found to pour a Guinness correctly, I assume others have not been trained, a problem in many pubs not just wetherspoon, But will add DO NOT order Guinness via app, as they pour in one go, cos I assume they think u not looking... NOTE... a Guinness drinker will always wait, any Guinness ordered via app you should sit in view of the pump

Popped in for the first time here in approximately three to four weeks today on Monday December the 6th. I had a lovely pint of Guinness, it was all sticking to the glass and was waiting for my my sister when I was approached by a male with brown hair approximately 5ft 7inches wearing glasses who I now know to be the manager. He stated to me that I am not to drink in here in no uncertain terms so I asked why, naturally. He then said it was to do with an issue on a date in November. Perplexed and bamboozled I stood there and asked what date in November he replied Sunday November the 28th. On this date I was at The Portland Arms in Norwood on Portland Road and was watching the Chelsea v Man Utd game and can prove this - not that I will with these cowboys. I gently asked the manager politely should we go to view the CCTV together. He declined. He then went to speak to a fellow manager with blonde hair also sporting glasses , she immediately came out and said very loudly "yes that is him". At this point I was made to feel very unwelcome and completely humiliated in front of a bar full of people through no fault of my own. The whole situation was handled very unprofessionally and it was very embarrassing. This lady I can only say looked like Olive from On The Buses with blonde hair. I very calmly asked the male manager to send this lady to spec savers as the male they are looking for is not me. Of course now, I would not return there if you payed me. Please get your eyes tested Ms & Mr Managers

We go here at least once a week because it suits our budget. Sometimes the food is excellent but sometimes, as happened last week, it is very poor. I had ham, egg and chips. Both eggs were unrecognisable, they were hard and even burnt on top of the yoke. I suspect what I got was something that had been cooked before and flashed under the grill or into a hot pan. Both eggs were also cold. as were the chips which must have been cooked sometime before. This meal was not acceptable. Even though we know the food is reasonably priced, it should still be prepared with care. If I had cooked eggs like this at home I would have ditched them or put them aside for sandwiches. If we get another meal like this at the Greyhound we will stop going there.

Perfect service by Elle on my first visit to the Greyhound. Informed, punctual, and polite. Both Elle and her colleague Charlotte (who was not on duty) are a credit to Weatherspoons.

No es un buen lugar para comer. He estado allí muchas veces porque conozco a alguien que vive cerca, pero a pesar de las quejas y la devolución de alimentos fríos y alimentos mal cocinados, parece que empeora, no mejor, hasta el punto de que estamos buscando otro lugar para comer. Es una pena que las Wetherspoons sean normalmente muy buenas para la comida.

This is the second wetherspoons that i have been in where the coffee machine stock is empty My food was lovely but that has just let it down for me because it has happend multiple times where i have gone to get a capuccino and all thats been in the machine is hot water and hot milk

So ordered mixed grill. Finally it arrived ... raw. Called for manager, twice. Finally he came over and said oh well that's how it comes you have to ask how you want it. Oh sorry can I have raw pork please???? Then after not bothering he said, go away I cant deal with people like you. Oh is that because you are a rude pompous, think your something your not knob. Just avoid. Terrible.

We decide to eat out for Sunday breakfast and came here. Large comfortable Wetherspoons and the breakfast as always in a Wetherspoons pub was plentiful and great value, the unlimited coffee refills are welcome too.

Entré con la familia después de un viaje de compras a Sainsburys y decidí tener una comida "encantadora". Pero, por desgracia, mi hamburguesa era tan dura como la mesa y se servía un chardonnay en lugar de un pinot grigio. Cuando fui a cambiarlo, el personal fue grosero, especialmente la corta, regordeta y rubia directora. Muy decepcionado, nunca volveré aquí y te aconsejaría que te mantengas tranquilo a menos que quieras un poco de actitud con tu cena rockera.

Went to the pub for drinks with a friend. As usual there was a great selection of well kept beer. The bar staff were friendly and efficient and was served quickly. Would recommend.

Estaba sentada en una cabina y la pareja de enfrente estaba constantemente discutiendo y amenazándose mutuamente, el personal lo había visto y se había quedado ciego. Esto me había quitado la comida, ya que me gusta tener un ambiente relajante para comer. La mesa en la que estábamos sentados estaba llena de migas de pan. El gerente tenía el pelo rojo y fue muy grosero conmigo cuando pedí una coca. Ella me gritó y me dijo que tenía que esperar a pesar de que ella estaba sirviendo. No estoy impresionado con mi visita a JD Wetherspoons y esta situación debe ser tratada.

I met my son here for lunch, our first visit. This is a very large pub with an outdoor area and is nicely decorated and we'll furnished, giving it a pleasant and cosy ambiance, in spite of its size.

Called in here with my wife and son for lunch. Wish we hadn’t. Had the 2 meals for £9.50 which was English Beef Chilli and Terriakki Noodles. Well when they arrived from the kitchen they immediately looked like children’s meals. Now my son is 37 and this was enough for a 7 year old. Plus mine rice was dry and in a slab. I didn’t complain at the time as I didn’t want to make a fuss. The worst Wetherspoons we have been in and we have visited many all over the country.

Not like your typical spoons more like a normal pub little bit dearer, but worth it, and nice roof for sitting out in the sun

Apart from the Brexit paraphernalia with erroneous information that's a standard with Wetherspoons thanks to the ill informed owner, this is by far and away the best value pub in Bromley Town. Always a good night out in there when you want a few drinks and the food is also good

I visited The Greyhound, Bromley, on Sunday 30th around lunchtime, and ignoring the general staff concensus that 'they' are doing me a favour by serving me when they've finished their conversation, I was more perturbed by,of the 3 cubicles available in the gents toilet (dispensers for 6 toilet rolls) all were EMPTY . So much for the inspection rota proudly displayed !!

I visit this pub regularly so no particular date or time, (therefore ignore the date/time on your form, there was no alternative to put several dates/times). It's a good pub in many respects but service is abysmal. OK they are understaffed, that's their excuse when you complain, but why can't they install a queueing system? People get fed up with waiting to be served when others come in after them and get served first. It is always a problem in this particular pub and I have seen people on different occasions just walk out in frustration as they get sick of waiting. A simple rope and two free- standing pillars would suffice, the sort you see outside clubs, cinemas etc for queueing. This would be a simple, effective and fairer way to serve customers.

I understand that when the pub is full for the barmans it's not easy. but I repeat as I have already done with other pubs, the fingers should not touch the inside of the clean glasses. For a reason of hygiene! The fingers are in constant contact with the money, and each coin contains milions of bacteria.

I had the breakfast with a some family and it was so disappointing, everyone raves about a spoons breakfast but at this branch it was awful, The price is amazing but the food was barely edible. we all had the large breakfast and on paper it sounds greats but once it had arrived it was less than disappointing. The mushroom was the first thing noticed and it was filled with oil literally I tipped it upside down and on a napkin and it drenched it, My wife mushroom wasn't even cooked. The Eggs were destroyed, the skin on the bottom of the eggs were both rock solid and inedible. The hash browns were over cooked and I mean you could hear the crunch from a mile away. The sausages were very nice and so glad I swapped out my tomato for another one otherwise i'd come out starving also the bacon was lovely it had a really nice chargrill taste to it and cooked how I like it but that's just me because no one else on the table like it. I have been to other spoons before and they are all really good but in this one its less than satisfactory. Also you can hear the chefs having a laugh and mugging someone off, I couldn't quite catch exactly who they were talking about but they were mimicking an accent of the person they were talking about. Im all about a laugh but come on your customers can hear you.

Visited after work on steak night. Quickly ordered at the bar and meals arrived within 10 minutes. Friendly staff, good food at a reasonable price.

3 generations of our family from 1 to 69 popped in for lunch and it was very good value. My fish and chips were superb and my grandson(1) loved his spag bol. They seated us with all the other children and supplied a highchair.

Started a job in Bromley high street today and us work lads thought let's go for breakfast as wetherspoon you know what your getting. The breakfast was appalling the eggs were as hard as concrete, the butter for my toast has melted before I opened it and the toast was overcooked very disappointed considering I will be here for next 2 weeks.

We attended as a group on a Saturday evening for drinks before going out for a meal elsewhere. Although busy, there were yet again inadequate numbers of staff serving behind the bar. There were constantly large queues, and while i was waiting to be served for nearly 15 minutes, at least 6 people gave up and left. And at this time, there were about 8-10 people behind the bar, but only two dealing with the throng at the bar.

i went into this pub as i heard great things about the food how disappointed i was !! i had the traditional breakfast NEVER AGAIN. the eggs was cold,the chips lukewarm and the sausage was burnt i did tell the staff and they changed it for me but it just tasted like they had just reheated it when it came back.

Excellent cheap pub in the middle of Bromley. Friendly, efficient bar staff with a nice atmosphere. I'll be back

My husband and I came here on Monday 24th September 2018 for a breakfast as a treat for our wedding anniversary. We were served by Chloe who was absolutely brilliant, she was very helpful, kind and attentive. She had no idea that this was a special treat for us to have. You have an excellent young lady working for you. The breakfast was delicious and we left feeling great. Thank you for helping to make our 26th wedding anniversary lovely. xx

We visited The Greyhound during a stay in Bromley, we ate there twice.

Came here for lunch on a sunday and we were served quickly. Food was plentiful and fresh and the staff were very attentive, often asking us how everything was etc

Yesterday, sunday at about 3pm in the afternoon, I visited the bar, the bit where the guest ales are on pumps, and twice I had to wait over 10 minutes, at one time, there were 2 staff serving, and more than 8 customers waiting.

Visited here after shopping needing some liquid refreshment. The app makes ordering drinks easy and there is a good affordable range available. We received small rather than medium wine which was rectified quickly with no quibble. Would come again.

Bustling pub which is very well kept. The premises are well maintained, tables were cleared - and cleaned - instantly customers left. Bar service was rather slow but very friendly and helpful, and a good range of real ales. The place was very busy early on Saturday evening, but was functioning well. It is an attractive pub to which wewould happily return.

Walked in with my wife and we were immediately greeted with a hello from the bar staff. We took the time to look at the menu and chose the fish and chips which turned out to be a great choice, it was delicious with the mushy peas. I was served by Ellie on the bar who was very kind by taking her time explaining everything to me about how the menu works. The food and drinks were great so my wife and I will be back soon.

Having a light lunch with the family was served by Jack pleasant and polite young man read all the order back, food tasted hot and well presented. The Manager Doreen was cleaning tables etc had a quick hello and made time for the customers brilliant service and fantastic food keep up the good work best wetherspoons around.

Waited patiently at the bar for 11 minutes to be served! 4 male staff, two of which chatted and kept looking at us as we waited but blatantly ignored us. They were not busy, it was gone 11pm. One of them decided to serve us after having served others who just walked in, had bad attitude. Been in many weatherspoons around the UK, this being the nearest to where I live, was the worse for service, won’t be going back. Train your staff how to deal with customers.

Me and my partner have been to loads of Wetherspoons and out of all of them in london and local this has to be the quickest one by far can't belive the service was so quick and all the bar staff are busy......well done ! Very friendly and approachable we was so impressed would recommend this branch to Any one.

This is a nice pub in Bromley. Standard Wetherspoons fare. Food was tasty and served hot. Busy even during the week. Great atmosphere. Not much interaction with staff but a lot of new people being trained. Comfortable seating. One mark off for dirty, broken toilets. They smelled really bad. Other than that we had a good time. I’d give them another try.

I have visited these pub over a numerous occasion but on this occasion I was left disappointed. I organised a reunion with a group of ex work colleagues and unfortunately we were all left disappointed by the service we received. Issues with our food orders, when we approach staff about our issues with food it was dealt in an unprofessional manner by senior members of staff.

I visited with some friends for dinner and some drinks which we were really looking forward to! So one of my friends ordered food and swapped one of her sides for another which was put through the till no problem - when the food came, one of the staff abruptly told her she should have done that as “we can’t swap sides here” even though the staff accepted this and put it through.

Been to many Weatherspoons but this one is a no-go. Spent an evening a there with friends. Although had table/app service which was quick the staff/management attitude and approach to our customer queries was very poor. Realise it gets busy here but some training on customer care and inter personal skills wouldn't go amiss when dealing with queries. Spoke with other customers in the pub who had similar experience of staff!

Visited here with friends for food and drinks. The chicken burger was dry, the mixed grill was the worst mixed grill I’d ever seen burnt, mostly a plate full of gammon. The 14oz steak was chewy and not cooked rare as requested. The staff did not seem to care, too busy chatting. No one cleared plates away. Used to come here a lot, won’t be now, standards definitely have gone down hill!

I visited the Greyhound for an evening meal as I was staying in Bromley for work purposes. A large pub, very bright and welcoming. Lovely meal and served quickly. Good service.

Better than average 'spoons, friendly bar staff (mainly) and always busy. Good range of craft beers and ciders. Open fire in winter which is a nice touch (as long as brain dead's don't hog the heat)

Very fast service. Very clean. Staff welcoming. Warm even though it is April. Again quiet so we could talk Would recommend as usual Wetherspoons. One drawback disabled toilet was a bit tatty.

Visited for lunch and the food was fine except my wife's choice of lamb shank wasn't available. The white wine tap needed changing but the manager was at lunch (no back up?) and a long wait at the bar for a second drink unless you went to the middle of the bar. a chap next to me waked out as he got fed up with waiting, and if a very kind lady hadnt shouted down I am not sure how long we would have waited. Ok Pub though

Yesterday went into Greyhound for lunch with grandaughter and 2gtgrandchildren 3yrs 6months .sat down sorting out what we were eating. A rude female member of staff said "she can't eat that" refering to the 3year old ,I had forgotten she was eating the last piece of her happy meal .I apologised and said I hadn't realized .She said you need to leave I looked at her in amazement .She refused to give her name .then the manager came over and very rudely said you need to leave Once again I apologised and said it was an oversight and actually the adults were eating .suggested we take burger off of her untill we had eaten then give it back to her .His next comments was I wouldn't serve you anyway .They reluctantly gave me his name as Jimmy .I will ensure that everyone with children that I know will be told of this shoddy service .

The thing with Weatherspoons is you pretty much go there knowing what to expect. It’s cheap. However, I don’t think this is good enough reason for shoddy, poor service and sub standard food. We had stopped in for a quick bite to eat on the way to the cinema on Saturday afternoon. Hubby went to the bar to order 2 burgers and drinks. We both wanted beef burgers but apparently they had just run out of beef. I sent hubby back with my drink in order to get a refund but they wouldn’t refund the drink as it was purchased as part of a meal deal. I consider it poor customer service not to apologise or offer full refund particularly on an item that cost them pennies. Hubby said the burger was nice but his chips and onion rings were fried to death.

Appetizing food and drinks served up by able and courteous staff. An inviting setting, with wall photos that commemorate authors from Bromley (Charles Darwin, H. G. Wells, Enid Blyton, Richmal Crompton). Well-varied menus for breakfast and all other meals. Very reasonable prices, too.

I went to the pub on Saturday, me and my daughter was asked for id when the drinks were served, when enjoying my meal with the family, i was asked yet again for id, then through our meal the staff were watching us, we felt very u comfortable and left half way through our meal, very disappointed in the staff and we shall not be going back there again

A group of friends and I, 4 of which were 18 and two were 17 were in greyhound wetherspoons and were quite disappointed with the customer service.

Every week I have a meal at one of our local Wetherspoons with a member of my family. This week we went to The Greyhound at Bromley. There clearly was a shortage of staff, as we were waiting for bar service for nearly 20 minutes (as had other people). When staff arrived they appeared to serve regulars first, much to the chagrin of others waiting. I protested (on behalf of myself and others who still had not been served), only to receive a flea in my ear from the server who said she was going to serve her regulars before "casual" customers. Not customer focussed and not good enough.

Decided to pop in for lunch on the way to a meeting and have my what's fast becoming my usual Saturday lunch of a southern fried chicken wrap.

I was surprised having read some of the reviews i very often visit this pub I've never had a bad meal yes at times it can be hard to get served but that's due to being busy and popular I find the service good and staff are always cleaning tables etc there is a nice atmosphere I've never waited longer than 10 mins for my food it's always presented well I will continue to use this pub as always

We are spoon fans and have frequented this pub for many years. We have noticed a deterioration in the general standard of cleanliness, particularly table clearing. Staff deliver food and drinks but seem oblivious to the dirty tables and glasses that surround them. Management needs to take responsibility here as staff are generally young and presumably just lacking direction.
