Bar staff are always on hand and helpful, but the kitchen is closed most of the time in the evenings

Sheree was lovely, served a good pint, was a good laugh throughout the night. Spent most of the night chatting to her.

Came down for a Saturday night drink with friends and got made a banging Pornstar by Ben! Grace lovely on service as always too :) as was Sheree and Emma xx

Came on a Friday evening, atmosphere was great. The service was brilliant sheree, summer and chantelle were great. Great selection of beers on tap and good bit of music on. Great friday night oit.

The food here is brilliant, I am especially a fan of the chips. The service here is great and speedy from the brilliant bartenders, who will guarantee you an exceptional experience here! A lovely welcome by Sheree and good service throughout the evening. The staff and especially Sheree went that extra mile. The food was extremely good. We had a mixed grill and fish, both good quality and cooked very well. I will return for sure. Competitive prices for food and drink.

Staff are lovely and friendly but music speakers are blaring in every single corner and niche that it's impossible. to concentrate on a conversation! Also could do with a few more Sofa/ comfy chairs as noone wants a dining upright. chair round a table for a cosy evening drink with a Partner.

The pub is very cosy and cute but what made our experience 10/10 was the lovely staff, izzy and paige, spoke to us for our entire time we were there, they were so welcoming and kind and funny. Would love them to get soke recognition for there amazing hospitality!!!!!

We had the best evening, food was first class and the service by Tom was exceptional. Thank you Queens Head for a quality night!

Terrible experience at Ember Inn in Green Street Green. We waited over an hour for our main courses, only to find out they hadn’t even been cooked because of an Uber order. After finally getting a refund for the mains, we waited another 30 minutes without any food, only to be told our entire order was canceled without any explanation. What should have been a special celebration for my daughter's birthday turned into a total waste of nearly two hours. The service was disorganised, communication was non-existent, and we ended up eating at a fast food chain. I won’t be returning, and I’d expect a refund for the starters and drinks.

We decided to give this pub another chance as the last experience wasn't good. Roast dinners were aweful. We shouldn't have bothered. My husband and friend had shepherds pie. My friend couldn't eat it. The veg was disgusting. Not cooked properly. All of us ate hardly any of it. Also couple on next table didn't eat their roast dinners. We did complain and in all fairness we were given desserts. Did tell Katie that her cooks were ruining her reputation. We used to visit this pub frequently. It was always packed. The food was good. Not anymore. Hardly anybody was eating and thr dining area was almost empty. Such a shame to see this pub go down hill.

had a great experience today a friend booked a table for lunch i could see it was very busy a waitress very slim blonde showed us to a table apologised for the delay was very warm and welcoming, i watched whilst we ordered our lunch this particular waitress did not stop from waiting tables to promptly clearing then and always with a smile, i managed to get her attention to ask for some tap water she smiled and returned straight away. i did not get a chance to ask her name but her hair was down fairly blonde black dress id like to add she is a credit to your company for her hard work.

I came in today and it was really busy but food came out quick the waitress Ellie was really polite and worked really hard with a smile on her face despite it being extremely busy. Would definitely come back again and be served by her.

this is my regular pub. I usually treat myself fo a pint twice a week and everything the bar staff are so friendly and welcoming. they always make time to have a chat with me. Izzy and Ellie especially are such lovely girls!

Amazing pub with a great atmosphere, staff were very friendly, respectful, kind and understanding. Some of the staff are fairly new so it’s best to be patient and give them time to get your order ready. The food is absolutely superb, theres a lot of variety to choose from and the chefs give you a lot of wiggle room to mix and match to make yourself the perfect meal. Also a decent selection of drinks to choose from such as cocktails, ciders, ales you name it. Overall it makes for a very enjoyable experience

the place is unclean! carpets are worn out tables are sticky, glasses everywhere and toilets are disgusting! staff are inept at best!

Me and my partner both had surf and Turf Both over cooked, not just the steak the whole meal. My partner sen there’s back but I just got on with it. Hers come back out another 20 mins later now undercooked. Glad I had discount becusse I would not pay full price for this.

Went in for a Sunday roast yesterday and what can I say , not the dinning experience I was hoping for ,as I normally cook Sunday dinner it was a treat to go out for once for Sunday lunch, had half a roast chicken which was probably the only thing that looked ok, the rest was a disaster, 3 small aunt Bessie roast potatoes, a inch think slice of raw leek, 3 small lumps of raw carrot and two small raw cabbage leafs ! Now I know why there was only about 3 tables of people in there eating on a Sunday ! Definitely won’t be going back for a roast any time soon, I got a full refund but my partner was to embarrassed and continued to eat half of hers , made everything very uncomfortable due to the food that was presented

Went on a Thursday for the steak offer, wished I’d gone across the road instead, 4th time in ten years we’ve said “we need to boycott this place” after trying again, they really shouldn’t offer what they can’t deliver, both steaks came out tough as old boots, with chips that hadn’t yet been defrosted, I think my Nan was cremated less … the sea bass with mini cocktail not king prawns, the only toss given was clearly to the steak cooked on both sides 50x

Rubbish service. Waited over an hour for food to arrive. Staff couldn’t be bothered to come over and apologise! Waitress walked around the establishment with a no care attitude and even the manager was sitting on a table not even taking care of the situation. Training in customer service urgently needed for the staff and management. Avoid at all costs

2 times have booked a table for 6pm for 4 people. Both times arrived at the restaurant and both times sign on door stated kitchen closes at 6pm. No contact or email to say this before arriving. Today's excuse was that management were on an away day. Ended up at the Indian down the road very good food accommodating staff, fast and efficient service. If you want a drink go to the queens head if you want food find somewhere else.

They advertised the veggie roast having gravy for my GF and then after they brought us two dry and mediocre roasts, they litterally had no gravy for her at all. Like my roast was dry enough, but atleast I got gravy. The worst part is that they put in the menu that the veggie roast came with gravy, but then brought non at all. When we told our server, they didn't even care I pointed out it was on the actual menu and when they paid they should have said they don't have any and they didn't care at all. Worst pub roast u have had in years.

If I could give more than 5 stars for this establishment I absolutely would. We booked for a party of 22 work colleagues for dinner on Wednesday 27th March. An area had been sorted out and worked perfectly. A shout out to Tom who looked after us impeccably and when I knocked a full drink over he was over with a mop in a flash! He was attentive but not overly so, seemed to know when I had a question and was just ‘there’. Ordering 2 courses for 22 was made easy with him and the food came at the same time with no errors. The night was a great success made all the better by Tom and his colleagues. I’d definitely recommend.

Lovely big spacious pub, we had a choice of tables. I have coeliac disease, there was no menu to look at, I was referred to glass onion. It is hard enough already with coeliac disease without having to faff about with an app!

Long wait for food, tough rib of beef. raw sausages had to have another meal. Desserts came up before table was cleared, wrong orders on some, all cold. Hot drinks luke warm. Not much for Gluton free. Will not be returning.

Came here yesterday wished I never bothered. Ordered starters mine was fine, partners starter chicken was raw and cold inside. It wasn't busy in there 5 people 3 staff, mains came out it was awful chips undercooked, eggs undercooked meat grossly fatty and after a bad starter it was very off putting a wasted amount of money and end the night with severe stomach pains and upset stomach.

We came here for Mother's Day and felt although busy the team were fantastic and coped well with the pressure. Although they had run out of roast chicken the staff were very apologetic and offered alternatives we could have instead. We will come back! But... can we have a porter beer and not just boring Amber ales next time?

Words fail me. I accept it’s Mother’s Day which is busier than usual but a m&b venue should also know this and be prepared for it. Service was shocking, staff shrugging their shoulders at us when we asked for the correct food. Table not ready so put in a corner. A 30 minute wait for a few children’s ice creams!! Disgusting attitude, appalling service and average food.

We went there on mothers day, it was busy. My kid uses a power wheel chair. The staff told us to make him stick to the table and not move around since the staff were busy serving drinks, understandle but all the kids were running around and anybody could have caused disruption to their service. I didn't like the fact that they stressed on my kid because he uses wheel chair, that too in front of my 7 Yr old son. It wasn't nice of them.

Food was so disappointing, but we were served by enthusiastic, young staff. We usually go to the Ember Inns in Locksbottom. We won't be coming back to The Queens Head

Feeling angry. Arrived at the pub, on a Saturday, to see a note on the door saying kitchen closed at 3.30. Quickly made a decision as to what we wanted and went to the bar to order as we thought that would be quicker than ordering on my phone. Girl behind the bar said kitchen closed at 3.15!!!! That's not what the notice said. I explained that it was 3.15 but she wouldn't budge and take my order. Left immediately feeling angry and hungry. Not happy, won't be returning any time soon!

Unwelcoming, cold atmosphere. Nobody ever at the bar to serve and the man in charge is always glued to his phone. Don’t recommend at all. The pub down the road is better👍🏻

You cannot beat the Queens head for the quality of their food. The service is outstanding. Would highly recommend great for all the family.

I am totally disgusted with the Manager Samuel Lawrence, he is the most obnoxious, unprofessional excuse of a man. He has sucked every bit of enjoyment out of what used to be a nice pub.

Upon experiencing an uncomfortable drink and meal at this pub I came here to leave a review. It was the good reviews that influenced my decision to try it but now reading them, It’s rather shameful to see it’s the staff of this pub leaving the good ones. If you click the names on most, it will take you to the photos of the staff there when I visited. One being the gaming review. If it isn’t the staff, the surname on some reviews match the surname of the manager answering these reviews. It is illegal to post fake reviews on your own business so I will be reporting to trading standards. Deceiving and shameful.

Just had lunch with friends at The Queens Head, Green St Green. Having visited this venue before and been pleasantly satisfied, I am sorry to say that today was not the case. We waited far too long for the meal, especially given the place was not busy. No chicken available so forced to re-choose. I chose gammon, my guests chose bass fish and burger. What a disappointment. All meals were overcooked to burnt. Poor quality food unable to eat. So sad as you only disappoint your customers once to no longer serve them again ! Pulll your socks up !

Early Friday evening meal for three late celebrating a birthday. Wide menus but some ingredients not available. Youthful staff very good and warm welcome. Parking free and plenty space. Will visit again! Thank you ladies 🤗

It took two hours to serve 8 of us one course. Bread with the three soups was almost non existent. Not welcoming.

Poor service, had to keep asking for basics, such as cutlery, was kept waiting for courses. Items missing from meals when served, which then had to be sent back.

We have been coming to this pub for 30 years but, sadly' each time we have been here lately (perhaps every month now) it is getting worse. We popped in this evening and were told to move twice but nearly three times in 10 minutes! The first time was from a small table on the edge of the dining area because we had a well behaved dog. The second time was because the table we had moved to needed to be moved for karaoke. We were then told that we could go back to the table that was not allowed as we have a dog then told by another member of staff that we couldn't so we moved ourselves to the last table available as the previous occupants had just left! We just wanted one peaceful drink but will never frequent this awful pub again that is now being run by children!!

Called in for a meal after seeing good reviews on line. Very nice pub and quiet on arrival. Ordered 4 meals first 3 meals arrived - 1 was fine the 2nd arrved with veg that was aired it had never seen hot. 3rd arrived without the accompanying jug of gravy, told it would be 2mins with the 4th meal. After 10 minutes there was no sign of either. Went to speak to who I assumed was the land lady and she said that she would find out what had happened, at this point meal 3 was cold. So she said she would make a fresh 3rd meal and get the 4th made. A few minutes later she came to the table and gave the weakest apology ever - it was the chef that couldn't read the order, the member of staff serving for not checking talk about throw your staff under the bus. We then ordered desserts one without the chocolate sauce and one with custard. What arrived was one with chocolate sauce and one without custard. I appreciate that at the time we ordered desserts the pub was busier with some Christmas party diners, but it was only an order for 4 not 40

Came for the ABBA night earlier this month and it was fantastic! Everyone had a great time, and my dad enjoyed the range of dark beers on offer!

We went to watch the Jersey Boys tribute, the pub was busy, music was great. We not only had drinks, we also ate there. The southern fried chicken burger was really tasty, service was brilliant. A well ran pub, thank you to all the staff...
