Salisbury Fish Bar in Bromley

Oh my goodness, what has happened to this fish bar?? Used to go there every Friday before I moved away from Biggin Hill, but what a shock I had last Friday getting fish & chips for my elderly mother. Slow service with miserable faces, very dirty uniforms being worn by the staff, hair not tied back fully on one of the girls serving. Also, a very young boy helping behind the counter, which surely must be a Health & Safety concern with all the boiling fat!!! Safe to say, I won't be returning to Salisbury's Fish Bar, Main Road, Biggin Hill again :0(

Been using these guys for years, tonight we had to wait nearly half hour for the food, when we finally got home 3 items were missing, fish was poor and the chips were greasy, poor service all round tonight guys

I visited for the first time tonight and I arrived with high expectations due to the crowd inside. Unfortunately, my optimism quickly dissipated as I ended up waiting over 30 minutes for a simple order of fish and chips. Despite stock visible behind the counter, the service was slow and it seemed the young staff members were struggling to keep up. While the food itself was tasty, the lengthy wait overshadowed the experience. It’s a shame as the portion sizes were generous, but I won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

Just really really good cod and chips

If your not a local beware I was passing through and stopped got a right sad piece of fish there was better there but I they gave me the old and over cooked one ... very disappointed... I would not stop there again ...

Had stomach issues the last two times.Shame cause always loved this Chippie and thought it one of the best around.Won't eat there again.

They seem to have trouble cooking the chicken, crispy on the outside cold on the inside, having only had this problem with their pies in the past and a pretty poor attitude towards the public, so 1 star because the chips were ok,

Ordered 4 large cod and chips that cost £50. Fish size very small 3 portions had virtually zero fish, and the batter was so chewy and dry and hard around the edges.

I have been to Salisbury fish and chips a handful of time and tried lots of different things that they serve, every time I am greeted by lovely people working behind the counter, every time the food is perfect, everything I order is in the bag, the price is good and I leave with a smile and a good meal.

Friday evening and it was busy! Waited 25 mins for our food, but it was all cooked fresh and worth the wait!

I stumbled upon this little fish and chip shop in the small town of Biggin hill and decided on getting the Fish and Chips boy I wasn’t sorry the best fish and chips I’ve ever had period if you are in this area please pop in for some amazing food.

Amazing place to get your fish and chips. Well worth that visit if your in the area. Nice portions and not fatty at all. Good prices.

Passed it a number of times and made the mistake of stopping. I ordered a portion of chips. They were cold and greasy not what I would expect, if you are passing keep on going dont bother stopping

Well cooked fish and chips. Aways a warm welcome and easy parking which is off the main road so brilliant if you have small children with you.

Ordered large rock and chips - was not large and with soggy batter was bit enjoyable. Was giving Salisbury a last chance as previously the fish had a strange bleached appearance and processed texture - so disappointed

Visited many times, never been disappointed with the food. Last time, got there about 4.45, ordered rock and chips which was cooked whilst l waited. Good size portions with good service

Chips were average chip shop quality. Not bad. However extremely over priced and even charged extra for ketchup. Would recommend going somewhere else which is not so extortionate.

Fresh, cooked to order so you may have to wait a while. Our french friends were staying for a weekend and we wanted to share with them a fish and chip supper. Not disappointed!

At 5:15 I ordered two haddock, large chips and a gherkin. Waited whilst fish was cooked or re-fried? I was the only customer. I paid at time of placing order. Wasn't long before one of the girls mumbled "vinegar" which was obviously the signal that my order was ready. The bag on the counter obviously contained part of my order and the chips were duly added. I walked across the road to my house. Unwrapped the meal and my wife served it on a plate. My opinion? Slapdash!! 1.No gherkin. 2.Chips were cold. 3.The fish was a long way from being fresh. This is not the first time a gherkin has been missing from an order. It's the first time I have had a haddock with too much discoloured flesh. Attention to detail very poor. Staff? Slovenly and not very interested. My local chippy so I am very disappointed. Won't be back.

Always a decent bit of cod & chips here. Freshly cooked which means a bit of a wait, but it's worth it.

We was told the fish would be cooked fresh so we rang the shop to order as we were traveling through back home. It was dry and tough no way was the rock/husk cooked fresh more like after noon fish refried and a hint of ammonia smell and taste in one of the fish so disappointed as this was a good shop back 20 years ago

Young girls always serving and getting orders wrong... we've been 3 times and they have messed up every time and had to make it better (once) with a free coke! Never in there less than 25 mins waiting for nothing more than a portion of chips. Man who seems to "run" this chip shop is rude and was rude to my partner who had to drive back to the shop as we paid for large chips etc and got small and wrong stuff. Also was cold and chicken burger not cooked properly! Another customer lost... I'd rather drive an extra 10 mins to the next one rather than give my custom! Absolute shambles of a business.

I just love the chips here. Often eat in. Really nice friendly staff. The only thing I would change for the better is the curry sauce lol 😊
