Great location Lots of nice restaurants & shops close by. Below restaurant did a nice meal & cocktails. Could do with a bit of maintenance in bathroom and de-cobwebbing

I celebrated my Birthday on the 1st December 2023 and we had the most amazing night. we ordered the Glamour food package and food was exceptional - I met the chef and he was absolutely lovely and clearly very talented as all my guests were sooo pleased with the food :) The service was outstanding too. Stela & Dan made sure we were very well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble. All in all it exceeded our expectations on every level and i will highly recommend.

Very nice decor and ambience. Cocktails taste nice and are cheap during happy hour or Thursday night but don't have much alcohol in (although this is the problem with all cocktails everywhere!). Music is ok but slightly too loud so struggling a bit to hear people I'm talking to. Would be better if the music volume was turned down and there was more alcohol in the cocktails - then it would be perfect!

Our daughter booked this lovely venue for her wedding reception. The staff were attentive,friendly and super efficient. The food was remarkable and beautifully presented with a great selection to cover all tastes. Our guests all had a lovely time and gave positive comments about the service,food and wonderful atmosphere. Great success!

Great night Saturday 2/9/23 for a works party.Buffet food was great as were the cocktails and everyone had a great time dancing to the great music played by the DJ..Thankyou to the management and staff for making our night special..

This place is a joke you allow brasses in as there was one there Saturday night looking for a man This woman smashed a glass in another woman’s face for no reason and wasn’t removed or dealt with by doorman , you have people doing drugs in the toilet and your security are ridiculous and RUDE! If your looking to have a good night with friends THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO COME full of sniff heads.

The best cocktails in Surbiton with happy hour from 5 to 8 pm. The food is amazing with nice choices of mixed platters and excellent table service. Love live music on Thursdays and definitely will visit on Friday and Saturday night when dj's start mixing the tunes!!!

Went to book a table but Igor who stated he was the manager was not willing to honour the arrangements of the Sunday Times deal as detailed on the ST website. Too arrogant to check what the website said. Listening is a skill lost by the closed minded. Previously experienced their no re-entry policy. Businesses without customer focus inevitably fail. If going out for a night in Surbiton do consider the alternatives on Maple Road. Look forward to reading the half hearted apology from whoever now claims th e customer experience responsibility.

Came in for a few drinks on a Saturday night, was great fun, lots of cocktails to choose from and the barman even made me one that wasn't on the menu! Great mix of music, quite a young vibe but really good fun. I would recommend that you get there early like 7pm otherwise you won't get any seating as it does get really busy. Would recommend as a nice local vibe, walking distance from where I live! Great fun!

I attended with two of my friends for a celebratory evening, and as we arrived it was fairly quiet. We ordered the Shark Tale sharer which we thought would be delivered in a glass pitcher. An hour later, a fish bowl finally appeared. We asked the waitress about the delay, to which she replied that there was ‘nothing she could do as they were busy’. As there were only 15 patrons in the place, I’d be surprised at the hold up. Terrible vessel, terrible service. No fresn fruit in the drink, no return. Goodbye Bosco! We will not return.

My favourite local cocktail bar . Every time I go there , I am well looked after! The food is excellent, staff are very friendly and fantastic bar manager . Of course the best cocktails in the area !

Boscos is a place for chavs and slags. Noone with and ounce of class would set foot through the doors. If a guy was to take me here on a date, I'd walk straight out and never contact him again.

Very nicely decorated. The window seats are comfy. The food is nice. The champagne is great value for money here. Service is good staff are friendly & attentive.

I liked the half price drinks they advertise at a certain time as pre dinner drink. I had a Bramble which I loved it is made of gin, blackberry liqueur, simple syrup & ice and garnished with a sprig of mint .It hit the spot and I liked that it was created in Britain. I therefore enjoyed two !

Live music - singer is great. Such a brilliant vocalist. The inside is lovely and comfortable. Think it was hit and miss whether you got table service - but we went to the bar and got ours. Mm, £5 mojito or martini on a Thursday night left us feeling like we got short measures. Wasn’t impressed.

Definitely the best lounge/cocktail bar in the area. had a warm welcoming by the staff as we arrived, drinks and food were great and the atmosphere was on point.Akis, the manager was constantly on his feet dealing with our requests and making our evening pleasurable.I highly recommend boscos and will be returning soon

I have been to this bar a few times and never had a bad experience. The bar itself is on trend with its decor, staff are all pleasant and attentive. music is very good, really nice atmosphere here to. The big plus for this place is that the food is also amazing if you are planning a meal and late drinks its perfect.

I attended my works Christmas party the week before Christmas and we all had a great time. The service fab, the staff were accommodating and attentive. We made some last min changes to the timings of food coming out which was no trouble. We also used drinks tokens, which again was facilitated with ease. The atmosphere was lively, fun and inviting. The live music was great and the crowd really enjoyed the audience participation. The door staff did a great job and everyone was kept well managed both in and outside the venue. All in all it was a great night, and I would highly recommend to all.

I had the misfortune to have to attend some work drinks at this venue a few weekends ago. What a mistake! It looks highly unprofessional to be greeted by a doorman with a cigarette in his hand for a start. It was a Friday night and upon entering the bar, it was half empty at 9.30pm. The clientele who were in there consisted of some drunk women on a what appreared to be a hen do and the local wide boys desperately trying to pull any of the drunk women. Even though the bar was not busy, it took the staff ten minutes to serve us as they were busy chatting to each other. My partner went to the loo while we were waiting for service and was shocked to see two guys come out of the cubicle together?! While I was still waiting for service, I noticed the doorman go behind the bar, pour a drink and take it over to a table of men. Wasn’t sure the security doubled up as barmen and waiters but he was a lot quicker than the actual bartenders! After getting a very poorly made cocktail, we watched a little scuffle between rival local gangs, listened to some dodgy sounding tunes and then decided to leave. Used to be a good place to go to with staff who knew what they were doing and management who kept the wrong people out and the right ones in. Seriously wouldn’t be surprised if this place was shut down within the year.

I took my family here to celebrate my mums birthday because reviews had said the drinks were so good (which they were) and i had seen positive comments on the food too. The service was slow, my partner and dad ordered a cocktail and a beer, the cocktail came first and the beer took another 15 minutes! We had just wanted light food so went for the tapas option. The popcorn chicken arrived and it seemed ok at first, then my brother bit into a chunk and suddenly spat it out, we were very shocked at first and then he explained he thinks it's raw. My mum tore open one of the other chunks and it was barely cooked at all!! I'm pregnant (which we had informed them of) and I had already eaten a piece of it, i was sick when i got home. The server was horrified and rightly so, they tried to give us another portion but it was burnt and we sent it back. They did give us a free dessert but the experience was just ruined. For a chef to serve raw chicken he'd have to be an idiot so please avoid eating here. The cocktails were lovely and happy hour was a good deal but the slow service is off putting.

Bosco's became my favourite local cocktail bar . Every time I come in , I feel welcomed and looked after. Cocktails are great and service by Miro ( Bulgarian ) bartender is outstanding . Definitely returning guest !

Had an exceptional time the past saturday at bosco i often go there because cocktails are on another level but in perticular saturday was great...great music lovely crowd and staff cant be faulted...also i saw lower review what a shame there is always one that has to kick up a fuss i also have a radar key but couldnt use the toilet as a women was letting her freinds use her key ...i agree there was stuff in the toilet but the staff did everything they could at the time due to the volume of people in the venue and im sure they would be first to help if there was someone with a wheel chair that needed to use the toilet ...for someone that has a key she should respect it and not be letting their pals use it because they couldnt be asked to wait...is a shame theres always one...but what a great night recomend to everyone who likes good quality cocktail,food and service !!!

Went to Hotel Bosco to celebrate a friends birthday last night. There were huge queues for the toilet and having Crohn’s disease means I can’t wait. There was a disabled toilet which was locked with a radar lock which my doctor has given me a key for. I opened the door and Bosco are using the disabled toilet as storage. I’m lucky that I could climb over the tables and use the facilities but I am very aware of people who can’t. I went and spoke to the manager and said how disappointing it was to see that this was happening and if they are going to use the disabled facilities as storage there should be a sign. He said that if someone came in in a wheelchair they would move it, I pointed out that that not all disabilities are visible and he walked off.

Wow what can I say the BEST cocktails and has great service. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Aki was amazing at making some really divine cocktails. Had a great night will definitely be returning soon. Would highly recommend this bar. Food is excellent as well.

Went for drinks after a year and was pleasantly surprised. Had a great night with the boys. Better atmosphere and well run,change of management really shows as george the old manager ran this place to the ground, more interested in the women clientele. Will be visiting more often. We went out for a nice meal at a friends restaurant, I thought lets pop to Boscos after as I met my partner here now wife 6 years ago and haven't been back since. nice door man I parked my sports car out the front and the guys kept and eye on it for me. we had a little dance it felt it had lost a little something since we had been, but still had a good night. Drinking wine and having a dance with the wife. We then went to order an other drink and the tall skinny bar man bought 3 glasses of wine. not sure who the 3 glass was for but I said no just the 2 glasses thanks. Then I get this weird reply " you told me 3 glasses" To my surprise, so now the bar man that works there to serve wants a row with me. I said I'm not sure why you heard that as you can clearly see I'm just standing here with my wife. He gives me this look as says it again then to my shock this tiny little small guy with a scruffy small head and a beard next to him said you said 3 glasses can you leave haha! of course we got out of that place asap. It didn't wreck our night though meeting little and large but in 2018 I don't expect such rude customer service. It was nice to go for a little dance but we wont be going back until this place pulls its socks up.

Great bar, good, attentive staff. It has a cocktail hour and prosecco free flowing brunch at the weekends which makes it good value, however the draft lager is served as a schooner, therefore can be expensive for a night out.

This is the place to be we had the best night in here I celebrated my 30th and it was amazing the staff were really friendly! There was a great atmosphere! We booked a private area, the manager who was working really went out his way to make sure we had the best time. Cocktails were amazing and the music was good too really enjoyed it. Thanks Bosco

The Excellent rating is down to mixologist Dan Brannon who served a variety of first class cocktails, some his own amazing concoctions. The bar was buzzing, great atmosphere, service was first class, we did not have to wait long, and Dan's cocktails were simply awesome. Also very good value compared to central London bars.

Stayed for one night. Room clean with everything you could need. Very reasonable, parking could be a bit of an issue. Did not dine or drink here so cannot comment on that but the continental breakfast was very good. Did get quite noisy towards end of night (it was a weekend) but not a problem for us, we were so tired we could have slept through an earthquake. Would have liked a more smiley greeting from reception staff member but heyho that was all I could really find fault with.

An early evening Friday stop for food and drinks. Three plates for £15. Decided on 3 small plates each, which was plenty. Credit where credit is due, the dishes, pork balls, sardines, artichokes, prawns, avocado & tomatoes where delicious, very tasty. £30 for a variety of small dishes is a little more than I’d expect. All in all a good evening and a nice way to start the weekend.

Avoid at all costs, it would be ZERO out of 5 if that were possible. This bar is ran by a management team that forget they are in the service industry. The bar staff are rude and slow. The bouncers are an absolute disgrace. If they hate their job as much as it appears then get another job. We made the silly mistake of giving the venue a second chance for our Christmas party. How silly of us. It’s a shame as it could be great but it’s anything but. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

A quiet Wednesday night and the service was awful, staff standing around doing nothing, us constantly having to chase for drinks, asked 3 times for the wine ordered and ended up going to the bar and asking. Food (not cooked hummus, nachos etc) took 45 mins because the kitchen was busy...less than 10 people in the whole place. Wine finally dumped on the table with a mumbled apology for the delay... would hate to be here on a busy night like Saturday...

Went for a night out at this place on Saturday 25th November. Worst customer service ever received. The manager was a dunce head and didn’t even know how to deal with customer relations problem.. the bouncers were also an ignorant as the manager and bar staff. Worst experience ever.. never again will I be going there

This place was a favourite for a weekend brunch but my Full Bosco this morning could hardly have been worse. There were two fried eggs, one of which was slightly overdone but the other had obviously been waiting under lights for ages. The edges were brown, the yolk rock hard and the whole thing like rubber- like one of those toy eggs! The toast was cold and leathery, the bacon hard and dry. They have always also charged a high price for a tiny glass of orange juice that’s mostly ice, too. A shame....

Met up with friends for food and cocktails as the quality is usually quite good. We go there once in a while when in Surbiton as they have quite tasty steaks.

Went out to the steak night on Wednesday and must say it was really nice. Friendly staff and 2-4-1 steaks is really good. Would recomend

We were with a group of about 12. The drinks and service were absolutely fine.

Had a few cocktails here after dinner. Really impressed, good choice, perfectly mixed. Enjoyed our 6 yummy cocktails in a beautifully appointed boutique style bar. Not jostling busy and not too noisy despite it being a Friday night. Will definitely come here again.

We decided to have a girls catch up and as a friend had already been to Boscos on a Wednesday before for half price steak night, we decided, as it's local to us all, to visit there. Another friend in our group of 5 is vegan and a few items on the menu sounded good for her. We first had a drink at the bar, friendly bar staff, nice drinks... our table had been reserved although the restaurant/bar area was not busy. Once we'd all arrived we sat at our table. The manager came over to speak with our vegan friend and to give her some recommendations and advice on what would be nice for her to eat. The rest of us ordered steaks...the food was lovely and really well presented. The vegan choice was great and my friend really enjoyed a quinoa salad with some onion rings. The waiters were chatty and although left us maybe a little too long once we'd finished our meal, I'm sure he would have been happy to clear away sooner if we'd called him over. We also had some delicious puddings. I would recommend Boscos and would def go back again!

I visited this bar with a friend for cocktails after a busy day out, it is near to Surbiton Station so easy to walk there.We had a little difficulty deciding on a cocktail as all looked good choices, I settled on a Espresso Martini and my friend a Cosmopolitan, both were delicious. We browsed the menu and ordered some tapas, again delicious and good value.The bar was quite empty, we arrived at 5.30/6pm so we were able to really settle in on the comfy sofas and chat. Just the environment we were looking for.The staff were a perfect balance of attentive and discreet, they were polite and a little chatty at the bar, they seemed really happy to serve us with a smile.I will head back here again.

Popped in for a quick cocktail before dinner on a Friday night. Had to walk around the correct way to get into the door past the two bouncers. We ordered espresso martinis for £8.20 each which seemed quite reasonable. Unfortunately, they were the worst we've ever had. A single shot of vodka at most, Nescafe would probably have given more of a kick. A drizzle of over sweet chocolate syrup on top to finish. The overall effect was slightly sweet dishwater.Security inside is obvious and intrusive - Surbiton is not Dalston. The clientele are also interesting. A mix of estate agents on a night out and fat balding drunk business men staying in the hotel and looking for action. Great for people watching but not a great night out. Avoid.

Went here with my sister & our friends (who are all 21+) on a Wednesday night for dinner. As soon as we were seated the manager rudely & awkwardly marched to our table and asked to see all of our IDs we apologised as we weren't aware we needed ID to order food (I booked over the phone and no one had mentioned it to me plus I had attended many times before without any problems) he then rudely advised that they couldn't tell every single person who called that they operated a strict ID policy. We decided to leave after the rude encounter. There are so many gems in Surbiton - don't waste your time or money here. I understand that there are age policies, however it's common sense to speak nicely to people who are about to spend money in your establishment. People who don't understand the hospitality business shouldn't be running hotels.

Went there with family for a meal. Left without it. Staff with a bad attitude left bad taste in my mouth. Have had good experience with the bar staff in the past though. Don't fancy going again even though it was one of my favourite places when it first opened.

We have been here 3 or 4 times and have always felt that the service from bar staff is poor. No greeting, no effort and we have now given up and won't be back. Drinks and food have always been pretty good. I guess you just can't find the staff!

We go here quite regularly for brunch when we have visitors to Surbiton. You can always guarantee a seat and it's quite quiet and relaxing. Other places in Surbiton can be quite loud, busy and full of children!! The brunch menu is good - few different choices, so far I can recommend the Bosco Breakfast, Chorizo hash and the Club sandwich. The food is always consistently good but the place is let down by service! It's very slow - even when it's not busy. Last weekend it took nearly 20mins for our drinks to arrive. We weren't in a rush so it's not a major issue, I was just ready for my morning cup of tea!

May I start by saying that we were not meant to even be there, we came here due to another venue cancelling at the last minute. So basically did not have much choice in the matter. I wish I had stayed in quite frankly."Glamorous, gorgeous and sophisticated" ??????? I think NOT!!!The staff are extremely rude, and do not know what good manners are, I find it offensive when staff who are taking "your" money, and serving the public, haven't even mastered the basics of please and thank you... who's training these people, its a disgrace!!The people in Bosco would not know the meaning of the word even if it walked up to them & stared them in the face!! It was no better than a cattle market. Full of strumpet types, with terrible hair extensions and false teeth, that obviously think a long top suffices as a dress....Why do they feel the need to show off what they've had for breakfast...? The men weren't much better either (minus the dress situation). The smoking area was a joke, most people were vomiting out there later on in the evening. The toilets were repugnant, you couldn't even have a pee without getting an entire toilet roll stuck to your shoe, and WHY do the girls have to go in two by two...its not Noah's Ark!?Overcrowded with conceited and vainglorious idiots.... Save your money and go up to London, Same drinks prices and a FAR better class of people. Never again.

I was treating my son to dinner but not staying. My main reason for coming here was its proximity to the station. I read some negative reviews but decided to go ahead anyway as I could so easily jump on a train. In contrast to some of the reviews I received a very friendly welcome, got a table by the window where I could watch the world go by and then got a good piece of news. It was steak night which means two for the price of one. So we went for steak. It was cooked as we asked and was a nice piece of meat. We were both satisfied and I would be happy to go back again.

We went there for a drink, the bar was totally empty, still we had to wait to get a table, as we didn't make a reservation. Too pretentious, it's much easier to get to Mayfair bar, then to Bosco. Ridiculous. Cocktails and atmosphere - average.

We have my girl friend birthday party we have booked tables in bar bosco about 20 people very cool place nice modern bar and DJ Kobi was the best all staff was friendly nice cocktails.The Manager George very nice guy he made us feel good in the bar our guests was very happy we had very lovely time in Bosco, Thanks to team Bosco

I've been here several times and never left disappointed. Most recently I came for a coffee morning with friends and we had nice time. The service was good, the drinks we had were nice. The place is decorated beautifully and gives you the feel that you could be in any trendy bar in central London.

A nice bar just a shame about the manager, never come across such an arrogant man in my life. Definitely better places to go in Surbiton where you will be treated well.....

Went for Thursday mojito night . Tried a few variations , all of which were lovely . Only a fiver a go on a Thursday , winning !!!!The French mojito was fabulous.Then had a delicious dinner and listened to nice live music. Steak was superb , sea bass was great. Really attentive staff , amazing cocktails . Still can't fault the espresso martini , best one I have ever tasted :)

Reserved a table on a Saturday night for 4 of us. The drinks selection is good, although not cheap. The atmosphere was pleasant and staff generally friendly. Nice place now and again but drink prices are steep for surbiton.

I went to bosco for drinks and food last night with 15 friends! From the moment I walked in and we ordered food to the moment we left the staff could not have been more accommodating! They stored my presents and cards, did table service and basically looked after us all night. After about 9pm the dj played a real mix of tunes, something for everyone! Had an absolutely brilliant evening sampled the food, cocktails, dancing and it was all fantastic! Can't wait to go again

I am a professional woman in her 30's, I do not take drugs nor am I pretentious (as some negative reviewers have referred to us regular clientele!). However, having visited Bosco Lounge since it opened, I feel quite well informed to write this unbiased review. I can say that the food on almost every occasion has been superb and the one time I have had to return something, it was dealt with quickly and a perfect replacement bought to my table with a smile and an apology. That was more than enough for me but some petty patrons may have made a bigger deal. I admit that on a busy Friday or Saturday night, there can be some unlikeable clientele but whether their character is questionable, Bosco, like any bar, is a business and money needs to be made. If these types are not causing any trouble other than standing around pouting, I do not have an issue with that so I am not sure why other reviewers take such umbrage. The Dj's on a Friday and Saturday are always great as is the service at the bar. The guys know what they are doing and work diligently and efficiently. During their busy times, when speed is of the essence, their manner may come across brusque but it is clear they are trying to get people served as quickly as possible which is what we are all there for, a drink. I have never encountered any rudeness from the door staff, even when I wasn't aware about the rule of glasses outside after a certain time, I was politely asked to leave my drink inside which I had no problem with. I have had many birthdays and events at Bosco and never once had cause to complain. My expectations were always met by the evening manager and his team. As there is a big sign at the door stating the over 21 rule on the weekends, I have had the foresight not to bring any guests under 21, it's that simple! The prices might be higher than average but what do you expect from a hotel bar? My only gripe is the with the ladies loos. There is a problem with the locks and I have managed to get stuck inside one on two occasions now. Please can this be fixed?!

Popped in for a quick afternoon drink. Three members of staff working, no welcome, no smile. We ordered 2 drinks the only time the member of staff spoke was to tell us how much the drinks cost. Quite frankly the only way to put it is... Shocking customer service, not sure how they've been here for so long. Will not be back.

Met some friends for a 50th birthday party tonight and a friend had his 19 year old son with him. The security guy who clearly loved himself and was obviously in the FBI moving around the bar making sure everyone noticed him with his ear piece in ( probably listening to the weeks Archers catch up) made a point in saying that under licensing laws they couldn't have anyone in the bar under 21 (really?) but our friends son could stay for an hour (and then set him timer on his phone!) with 10 minutes to go he gave a 10 minute warning. End result 8 of us went to The Flyer where we were treated like adults. I asked for a pint and was served a glass that I then noticed was 2/3 s of a pint. Shouldn't they point out they charge for a pint but you don't get one. Security guard clearly cares not for the business but just likes to be "the man".One to avoid.

Place is pretentious and the clientele is equally as bad. The people visiting here are clearly pretending to be better than they are and quite a few you can tell tend to have a habit of maxing out their credit cards.Soul-less environment in need of a reality check.You should maybe also stop making up your own measurements for drinks....a drink it not 2/3's of a pint.

Called in on a Friday evening. As usual nearly every table was reserved but empty. This was the same as last time we visited. After speaking to a manager we finally git to sit down on a vacant table. Good selection of cocktails, nice party atmosphere but drinks not cheap.

We went to Bosco for brunch on good friday. I was hoping to have scrambled egg with smoked salmon,but they did not offer that dish.... I ordered a cup of skinny decaf latte and the egg Royale (egg Benedict with smoked salmon). I asked the egg to be well-cooked (I know this is no longer 'benedict'!!). My latte arrived - it was not skinny. I couldn't bother asking them to change it. My egg royale arrived - it was with bacon instead of salmon. so i asked it to be changed. my food arrived again. when i cut the egg in half, it was not what i asked for. I wanted my eggs to be well-cooked, but the one actually came was poached egg. I could not be bothered asking them to change it again. I only had smoked salmon and a half of the muffin. I could see the chef from where i seated, and he looked very stressed, so i didnt want to bother. the staff came to apologise that they made a mistake between bacon and salmon, and they were very apologetic. and I really do appreciate that. So i am not sure what to think of the today's experiences. because staff were quite nice, and i understand the chef must have had a busy day...but i did not get what i ordered and the bill came to £23 for 2 persons....ummmmmmmmmbecause the staff was nice, i dont want to say it but i will not come here for food again.

Always good atmosphere and service even if I think the barman needs to smile a bit more when serving customers. Good for cocktails and great when there is a singer in. My friends say "it's a women's bar" but I think that's a quality.

This bar was better than I expected after reading the reviews. The weekend doormen check all ID on entry so ensure to take some photo ID with you. Good selection of draught beer although not available in pints! A nice mix of all ages and the DJ played some decent tunes!

Very close to Surbiton station this is a great venue for lunch or for evening catch-ups with friends. Pleasant outside seating area too (if it's not too coled)

The food has been different here each time I've eaten - first experience was not so good, staff seemed inexperienced & slow, but has gotten better over the years. Its the sort of place I would pop into, if its on my way somewhere. Handy location being so close to the station.

I was very shocked when i was reading through some of the negative comments about staff. To be fair, i have never had their food, we go there for drinks on friday or satutrday evenings. Doormen are always extremely polite and welcoming. He always asks me how i am, and wishes me to have a good evening. staff at the bar are also extremely friendly. they always ask me where i have been what i have been up to. they are also so welcoming. the evening manager is also extremely polite. he always says hello and acknowledge me. the DJ is the same. always extremely polite and friendly. they are incredibly hardworking and i always feel i have been looked after. Sure, drinks are not cheap, and sometimes too packed to reach the bar to get drinks,but what can they do? they are too popular. just want to say Thank YOU for all of the staff who work in bosco lounge and appreciate how hardworking you guys are!!!!!

Sadly I'm afraid I have to agree with the negative comments regarding The Bosco Lounge! We went recently for a couple of cocktails before heading off for a hen party. We hadn't booked a table as we were only there for a couple. Most of the tables were reserved for later so we were able to use one until the time of their reservation. What lets the place down is the staff. The manager, at least I assume that's what he was as he's evened give barking at everyone was surly and unapproachable. The bar staff didn't fare any better and couldn't raise a hint of a smile. The cocktails looked pretty but are very over priced. Like others I won't hurry back so please Bosco Lounge listen to the reviews, cheer up and be more welcoming. It's Surbiton not Hoxton??

Great cocktails but best to reserve a table otherwise too packed to find a seat on a Friday evening after work.

Very good service and excellent food. A bit dark to read the menu and few of the beers I favour but I would definitely go again.

I had planned to come here with 30 friends and family for my birthday and went to pay the deposit today and had been told it was cancelled! I hadn't been contacted to say this, last week I spoke to someone on the phone confirming I would be attending and planning to pay to £50 deposit asap. They had firstly written down a 10 digit number which we all know it is 11, they also had my email but didnt think to contact me. I will never be attending her again and also they lost custome of 30 people. Thanks for ruining my Birthday BOSCO!!!

Celebrated my 40th here a couple of weeks ago. Ideal location opposite the train station and a great atmosphere. Only issue was the bouncers and not being made aware guests over 40 would need I.D and that trainers were not allowed.. Buffet was great and staff were extremely friendly.

To say that this place is pretentious is an understatement. On two occasions I have been turned away from door staff at approximately 11.30pm with little explanation other than the feeble excuse that the venue was full (which it wasn't) and they were shut (which they weren't). The door staff clearly believe they are working in central London and not the Surrey suburbs and feel they can turn people away when they feel like it. I would rather the place became another pub...at least locals could enter the place without a snide remark or being turned away! Pretentious beyond belief.

Great cocktails and a varied menu with especially good tapas / sharing type dishes. Not cheap but good values especially if you go for the weekly specials.

Went there with family, making up a total number of 10 people. Initially the staff were friendly, and even helpful. However when we sat down and inquired about the Tastecard deal we were told you have to book. The restaurant was empty, and we suggest we can leave and call up. To which the rude response was " you've been here before and you should know". Given that its a lot more expensive than other restaurants near by we decided we did not appreciate the rudeness and average food and left to a much better experience over the road at PizzaExpress. Would not recommend Bosco.

We called in today just after 10am on a weekday to meet some friends with their babies. The place is empty but we were told that we were not welcome. I'd completely respect a place that says "no children" for reasons of atmosphere. Given that they are located in the heart of nappy valley one has to wonder whether that makes commercial sense but that's a policy I can respect. However, their policy is that they don't allow more than 4 prams (or, possibly, 4 babies as the manager did not seem to know which was which). It did not matter that we were willing to fold the prams up, leave them by the entrance, that the babies were fast asleep, that it was 10am on a weekday morning, that we are loaded with cash and nor did it matter that the (huge) place was empty. The lady who introduced herself as the manager was not willing to make an exception for a party with 5 babies and sought to justify this on the basis of "health and safety". Bar Bosco, if you read this I am willing to wager you £100 that if we ask the Health and Safety Executive, there will be no good reason for allowing 5 babies in an otherwise empty ground floor venue in the middle of the day. I have been going to Bosco for about 5/6 years and I have seen many mixed reviews so I thought I give an honest opinion. This is a bar that you need to book a table or event in, they are always at capacity as there is no bar in Surbiton or Kingston that is open till 1am or have a over 21s door. They do stick to the over 21s which is very good, you know that the crowd is going to be a little older but if that's what you want that's the place. Plus women they do like that you have to dress up when you go there so everyone tends to make an effort. The drinks are not cheap but this is because they don't need to make them cheap and it keeps out the heavy drinking louts which is a great thing. Every week there is a party or event so I would say to book online if you can or email them if you want to come down for drinks with friends. The music does get louder after 9pm as the DJ on a Friday & Saturday takes over but is usually old school tunes that you should know. The staff, what can I say! I think they are AMAZING they have always liking after me and I have always treated them with respect. Haven't got a bad word to say about the staff even if I'm not out and my girlfriend is out with friends I know she is going to be ok and looked after. Drinks if you are ever unsure what you want ask the bar staff to help you, they have some great cocktails and shots which will tip you over the edge. Food, the old menu used to have Sausage, bubble & squeak & onion gravy which was the most amazing meal. They have changed the menu and I have to say it's a 9/10 there is a few very nice dishes and I would say to try the sharing plate if you are unsure what you want.

I was at Boscos last night for steak night. There was 6 of us. The service had been good all night and the food was lovely however we paid the bill which had an optional 12.5% service fee on it.We split the bill. The waiter then came back and said that the tip was short £3.08. I said that the tip is actually optional. The waiter replied that with a table of 6, service is added. We don't mind paying it but we were never told this when we booked and thought it extremely rude to come back and request this. Not a great end to a lovely night.We have been to bosco's steak night on numerous occasions but this is the last! Initially I wold of rated the service 4/5 but after the episode my rating has now reduced.

Bosco's is a great place to visit if you want a more wine bar experience. The food is good and their cocktail list is very good. Outside space is great when the weather accommodates. DJ's at weekends if you like that sort of thing.

This place has become the current favourite with my family for a get together over breakfast. They can cater for your special requests be it that extra bit of cream or that certain way you want your French toast done. The fuul veggie breakfast is my favourite. Nice courteous staff and superb service with a smile. Would recommend without hesitation to families.

Called in on a Saturday for some champagne and food. When we arrived nearly all the tables were reserved and even when people did not turn up the staff did not un reserve them. Nice drinks selection, although a bit pricey and delicious steak.

Booked a table for my birthday and received excellent service from the initial enquiry until the end of the night.Service on the day was great, we felt like VIPs.I was with a diverse group of friends and everybody had a fantastic night. We had a large variety of drinks (including free champagne!) and plenty snack food to keep everybody happy. We ordered chips, onion rings and a sharing platter which all went down well.Would definitely recommend booking if you are going on a weekend, the place was fully booked and we had to be quite forceful with strangers trying to creep their way onto our tables!

Went to Bosco on a Saturday night with a group of friends hoping for a couple of decent cocktails. Ordered a Lemon Drop which sounded great but tasted like straight lemon juice and was undrinkable. When I took it back to the bar it was taken, thrown back into a shaker and more syrup and Cointreau added. No 'I'm so sorry would you like us to make another one or something else?', just a grunt and a recycled cocktail. To be fair it tasted okay when returned to me though this seems a bit of a fluke given they still didn't taste it before handing it over. Cocktail craftsmen they are not. Returned to my table, witnessed a full cat fight between two other patrons and shuffled off vowing never to return again...

Basic. The choice is very limited. Don't bother. Certainly what I would expect from a Boutique Hotel.

Visit regularly and took a colleague for some dinner after a long day. The bar staff were friendly and professional as always and service was quick. On this occasion I had a burger which was pretty standard and as expected but often have the sausage and/or veggie boards to share with a group and they are outstanding. It's a great atmosphere on a busy night and comfortable with plenty of space on a quiet night. Always enjoy sitting at one of the window tables with a delicious cocktail watching the world go by. Maybe they could add a raspberry martini to the menu? This is my go to bar in Surbiton for most occasions.
