Been visiting this pub for years and was so glad it has had a much needed refurb. The pub now is much more inviting and the outside area is really fabulous. Thought we would try their Sunday roast and wasn’t disappointed. The beef was just the right side of pink with lots of veg. Husband had the chicken and he didn’t leave a morsel. The pub was busy with a good atmosphere and the service was very friendly. Will definitely be back.

We came for a quick lunch and had such a great time, the service was excellent. We were served by Katie who was very attentive. The Pub has recently had a make over which looks 10x better than before and the food is definitely value for money. The change in bread in the sandwich means you feel fuller than just a regular slice of bread.

Food distinctly average, service was poor nobody seemed to know what table people were on. We got someone else's food and told to keep it so someone else's food was very late... nice renovation but you need to train people when you reopen. Pocheta wasn't great very fatty, roast beef over cooked but the chips were great.

My mum works for the under staffed and under funded NHS at kingston hospital, she starts at 7am, we walk past at 6:30. And back out after 3pm On the way in she always suggests I take her in the Albert after. Nipping into the Albert at 3..4 o'clock is her respite. The staff are great, long before the revamp, they care, they remember people. On the relaunch week, I was away, but she went wild and had 5 courses, a gallon of wine and a load of chats. She told me KEN was the top man, but I know all the staff there to be perfect. I have drunk in the Albert for births, emergencies and casual collections- and it is always good. The Tavern is a magnificent local pub.. The Blackhorse is a safe bet But right now, with courtyard and menu and kindness The Albert is a must visit

A really nice pub, very relaxing, and recently refurbished to a very good standard. The Sunday roast menu was so confusing I chose something else - less is more! Three mini glass dishes on my fish & chips plate was a bit too much, a normal portion of peas or mushy peas would have been much better. It's a shame there isn't a choice of fries or chips with both fish & chips and burgers too. Extremely disappointed no proper Coca-Cola on tap, bottle it was! Service was great at the start but went downhill to the point where I went to the bar to get the bill. The car park has been extremely poorly designed - surely a better place for cycles than taking up 2-3 car park spaces !!! I hope these things are ironed out before my next visit !!

Lovely, spacious pub with great service and great food. Had gone past the pub mainly times and it usually looked quite busy, so decided to stop in for lunch; was very pleased with this decision. Service was very quick and our waitress was very friendly. I had the Albert Beef Burger and can highly recommend. My parents had the Haddock and Chips and Chicken Schnitzel, and also said they were very tasty. Only complaint was about the mushy peas, which tasted bad and looked as if they came out of the freezer, but this wasn’t a bother. We shared a Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert—the portion size was great (very large if we weren’t sharing), and it was very tasty. Would highly recommend if you live locally!

Esteemed patrons, allow me to paint a portrait of sheer magnificence, for I speak of none other than The Albert – a bastion of sophistication and conviviality that beckons with the allure of an open fire ablaze in its heart. Step inside, and you are greeted by the embrace of warmth and elegance, the flickering flames casting a gentle glow upon the tapestries adorning the walls. The pub's layout, reminiscent of a stately manor, boasts distinct sections, each offering its own ambience to suit the discerning palate of its clientele. From the snug alcove tucked away by the hearth, where one can indulge in intimate conversations over a glass of fine whisky, to the refined restaurant area with its array of tables and seating options, The Albert caters to every inclination with grace and aplomb. But let us not overlook the pièce de résistance – the beer garden, a verdant oasis of tranquillity where one can bask in the embrace of nature whilst savouring a pint of the finest ale. Here, amidst the verdant foliage and chirping birdsong, one finds a lounge area replete with sumptuous seating, providing the perfect setting for leisurely libations and convivial discourse. And, of course, no recounting of The Albert's splendour would be complete without mention of its staff – a veritable cadre of hospitality wizards, whose warm smiles and impeccable service elevate the experience to celestial heights. Their attentiveness and affability ensure that every visit feels like a reunion with dear friends, leaving one yearning for the next encounter. As a cherished tradition, I bring my family from Holland over to The Albert, eager to impress them with the epitome of British hospitality. And each time, without fail, The Albert surpasses all expectations, leaving my loved ones enamoured by its charm and warmth. Additionally, The Albert welcomes furry friends with open arms, making it a delightful spot for dog lovers. Conveniently located not far from Richmond Park, simply leave the park from Kingston Gate and head straight on at the end of the street to find this oasis of delight. In summation, The Albert stands as a testament to the timeless allure of refined hospitality, where every corner whispers of history and every moment is suffused with the promise of delight. Come, dear friends, and immerse yourselves in its splendour – I assure you, the experience shall linger in your memory like the taste of the finest vintage.

We've visited the place several times, with latest being on 1st Jan so as we were expecting slightly under staffed but not too different than usual as we always wait minimum 30-40 minutes. Orders are being placed at the bar and so the payment is done upfront. Not sure how the tips works as you usually tip based on service/food. Expect some chairs & tables to be dated, mixed chairs from different sets etc. Menu is very basic, the type you would expect in a pub. Table was not clean even if there were no glasses, cutlery or plates, so someone removed them but not wiped it. Just your average type of pub.

If this is within your budget then go for it! Great selection of food from bar bites, to desserts and a good selection of drinks too. Good place to meet eat and drink and is dog friendly too. Christmas 2023 - from booking to meeting dietary requirements for myself the staff were supportive and understanding. There was no rush to be seated as each table was appointed with one seating, however we aimed to eat for two pm. Our server asked if we were ready to receive each course and allowed enough time upon request for a pause, so no rush for the table to be cleared and reset for someone else and this format worked in keeping a pleasant atmosphere. This was very welcomed as we had a new-born in our party and so allowed for a feed and a change. The pub had been decorated for the festive season, but not overly decorated and so had a homely comfortable feel. Courses were preselected, were well portioned and well presented. A personalised Christmas card and gift of some chocolates for afters was a very nice touch that rounded off a rather pleasant afternoon spent with both family and friends. So a huge thanks to the Albert Team of the day. The four stars given for service do no relate to my family's Christmas 2023 experience, as this really was something special. It relates to normal trading periods when the bar feels understaffed or the bar is sometimes left unattended and queues/small crowds are allowed to form. Cost of Christmas dinner 2023 was £90 per adult, for three courses and £45 for children. This was also pre-booked and so walk-in food orders were not possible, but remained general managers discretion.

Booked for 17 people months in advance for a family christmas meal, we asked weather or not we needed to pre order our food as you would expect for that many people and time of year, however we was told no need, arrived on the day to find out the car park has been turned into outdoor seating and that you would have to find a space on one of the back roads that was not permits only, we had the balcony area inside the pub, nice little area just enough space for the 17 of us including 3 very young children who required high chairs (high chair request had been made months in advance to ) however this pub only has 2 high chairs in the entire building. The member of staff come and took orders for the drinks and brought them over quickly which also became apparent that there is only 2 members of staff doing the waiting for the entire pub on a Sunday. Ordered the food to be told they only had 2 camemberts obviously this wouldn’t have been an issue if they had let us pre order, also had no tomato pasta for the children either. 8 of us ordered the roast beef, however it was hands down the worst roast any of us had ever witnessed been put together, half a carrot , no swede, a handful of soggy shredded cabbage , 2 1/2 undercooked potatoes 3 slivers of beef still mooing and a Yorkshire pudding that had been through the trenches, the only plus side to it was the gravy was actually ok. As for the sides I would not waste your time ordering these as they are also awful , roast veg consisted of another handful of soggy cabbage and 2 not even roasted potatoes and that was it, the mash was edible, and the cauliflower cheese is abysmal. ( don’t waste the money) The fish and chips looked ok for the adult and also the child’s portion was decent. Didn’t even get to the pudding section as due to no staff working the plates that we piled up and scraped ourselves to make it easier for the staff that were working was not collected for a good while even though our table was booked at 12 and another table of 14 were booked for 3:30pm at 3:15 we was still waiting for plates to be cleared to then be told oh the next party has arrived and that we would have to vacate and pay the bill. The bill came to £502 which included the 12.5% service charge which we was considering to asked to be taken of it but thought that was unfair on the actual staff members that done the best they could so left it, also we paid a £70 deposit to be taken of the bill which apparently they couldn’t sort out at the time so will need to be refunded at a later date. All in all the food is terrible, very slow service due to staff shortages and will not be returning here again unless we hear better reviews coming from the place.

Although I didn't feel the waiting staff were at fault at all, they were both very pleasant (understaffed and busy) we will definitely not return. The beef was VERY rare, (not given a choice) and had no flavour whatsoever. Roast potatoes hard, extra 'roast' veg turned out to be a ladle of cabbage and another sad potato. Very limited menu, and quite possibly the worst roast I’ve ever had! Beef was extremely rare, potatoes were awfully cold and hard, soggy cabbage and a flat Yorkshire pudding. Had to wait over 5 min after receiving our roast for our extras which was cold cauliflower cheese and “roast”veg which was more soggy cabbage & a hard potato! Was not offered desserts and the only time we saw the waiter since serving our food was to be handed our bill which we never asked for as the table was needed for another group! Never will we be coming here again! We also heard other people complain about their food, saying the roast is not usually this bad! Very disappointed, especially as our group bill was over £500!!!!

I really like this pub for drinks and tried the food today. The chicken and mushroom pie was 95% potato with two tiny pieces of chicken and 3 tiny cuts of a mushroom. The person serving said he would inform the chef as I sent back a plate of solid potato. Really poor, and supermarket pie would have been better!

This venue was most welcoming when I opted to have a family wake here Right from the start from tentative enquires, Brad (our host )and his team could not have helped me more . After an emotional send off to arrive ,and have 40% of the bar area for our private use for the time we were there was much appreciated. With tea, and coffee to hand to help our selves, Drinks via the bar Away from the public it lead to a relaxed atmosphere thou it was a case of waiting for the food as it been prepared freshly . My only comment on the down side is the VERY LIMITED parking area for just three cars a point to bear in mind. And if I could polightly point out the ladies in our party found the sandwiches on the rustic side a bit large for the pallet. Will certainly be coming back. Photos added speak for them selves

Quite empty for a late lunch, but blissfully quiet. Good food. We had the camenberg cheese, crab cakes and chips with a coffee and a lemonade. The bill was just under £40. The sharing cheese was beautifully cooked and succulent and the crab cakes were excellent. Crab cakes were advertised as coming with a salad. That part was the only dissapointment as it was just lettuce leaves nothing else.

Absolutely fabulous evening with a group of family comprising of adults and children. We had the downstairs area to ourselves which gave the children a bit of room to roam freely without bothering other customers. The service was outstanding - thank you Adam and the...

Never disappoints... I live nearby so Albert is favorite pub of mine and friends living nearby however whoever I invited to loved Albert so it became everyone's popular pub in Kingston and surrounding. The location is so perfect for public transport and parking the car. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating, food is luscious, ambiance is cosy and offers opportunity to hold private meetings or to host the crowd in special days. Lucky to have you around the corner Albert team, we appreciate you and your service.

On the search for the best vegan roast in town, the lentil etc roast did not disappoint. Everything was very tasty and presented beautifully however… whilst I’m not strictly vegan, my date was. In place of her Yorkshire pudding, she asked for an extra potato, to which the server said this would not be possible due to a slice of potato’s cost far outweighing the cost of a Yorkshire. Okay fine but we paid £20 per portion, we only got 3 small roast potatoes each, and I’d guess the plate was no more than 1000cal. Not the food coma experience I’ve come to expect from a roast lunch to be honest, so for that I have to rate this roast 3 out of 5. An option to pay for a large portion would be appreciated. Love the decor though

Really quiet as it's a big pub so If only a few couples in there it seems really quiet. Food pretty good, staff lovely. Worth a visit especially if you come from Dorking /Reigate as its just before the ULEZ charge 😅😅

A lot of Very rude male staff. not a kid friendly place to stay. Front desk male staff who assisted checking out had a know-it-all atittude. Big male staff wearing coat in the dining hall was loud, strong and unkind to my kid. Even threatened to put my kid in a dark room. The waiter during the wedding we attended banged the wine bottle on our table for no reason. All female staff were kind and nice. Very POOR Customer service from MALE STAFF. Place was very nice but because of the experience from the staff and big man wearing coat our stay became a nightmare.
