Very mean with food portions emaciated plaice with 5 small new potatoes £17.50 and had to pay an extra £6 for brocoli. Come on we're not all mugs for prices haven't gone up that much for a few extra spuds! Left hungry.

A lovely dining place with sympathetic staff and great food. We often come back to dine here because it is quick and easy. While the menu (if a bit expensive) has some good classics there are also kids meals options. This restaurants is great for a quick lunch or a nice evening with friends/ family.

Get out there, this pub has something for everyone, including the 4 legged friends. Situated on the edge of Kingston, I can not recommend the food more highly especially the cicken schnitzel. The staff are great fun, engaging and exceptionally welcoming.... no need to book just turn up and have fun.... they also have a delicious selection of delicious pale rose wines ... a little known pub with ample to offer anyone who wants a great venue for lunch or dinner.

Lovely, spacious pub with great service and great food. Had gone past the pub mainly times and it usually looked quite busy, so decided to stop in for lunch; was very pleased with this decision. Service was very quick and our waitress was very friendly. I had the Albert Beef Burger and can highly recommend. My parents had the Haddock and Chips and Chicken Schnitzel, and also said they were very tasty. Only complaint was about the mushy peas, which tasted bad and looked as if they came out of the freezer, but this wasn’t a bother. We shared a Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert—the portion size was great (very large if we weren’t sharing), and it was very tasty. Would highly recommend if you live locally!

Esteemed patrons, allow me to paint a portrait of sheer magnificence, for I speak of none other than The Albert – a bastion of sophistication and conviviality that beckons with the allure of an open fire ablaze in its heart. Step inside, and you are greeted by the embrace of warmth and elegance, the flickering flames casting a gentle glow upon the tapestries adorning the walls. The pub's layout, reminiscent of a stately manor, boasts distinct sections, each offering its own ambience to suit the discerning palate of its clientele. From the snug alcove tucked away by the hearth, where one can indulge in intimate conversations over a glass of fine whisky, to the refined restaurant area with its array of tables and seating options, The Albert caters to every inclination with grace and aplomb. But let us not overlook the pièce de résistance – the beer garden, a verdant oasis of tranquillity where one can bask in the embrace of nature whilst savouring a pint of the finest ale. Here, amidst the verdant foliage and chirping birdsong, one finds a lounge area replete with sumptuous seating, providing the perfect setting for leisurely libations and convivial discourse. And, of course, no recounting of The Albert's splendour would be complete without mention of its staff – a veritable cadre of hospitality wizards, whose warm smiles and impeccable service elevate the experience to celestial heights. Their attentiveness and affability ensure that every visit feels like a reunion with dear friends, leaving one yearning for the next encounter. As a cherished tradition, I bring my family from Holland over to The Albert, eager to impress them with the epitome of British hospitality. And each time, without fail, The Albert surpasses all expectations, leaving my loved ones enamoured by its charm and warmth. Additionally, The Albert welcomes furry friends with open arms, making it a delightful spot for dog lovers. Conveniently located not far from Richmond Park, simply leave the park from Kingston Gate and head straight on at the end of the street to find this oasis of delight. In summation, The Albert stands as a testament to the timeless allure of refined hospitality, where every corner whispers of history and every moment is suffused with the promise of delight. Come, dear friends, and immerse yourselves in its splendour – I assure you, the experience shall linger in your memory like the taste of the finest vintage.

We've visited the place several times, with latest being on 1st Jan so as we were expecting slightly under staffed but not too different than usual as we always wait minimum 30-40 minutes. Orders are being placed at the bar and so the payment is done upfront. Not sure how the tips works as you usually tip based on service/food. Expect some chairs & tables to be dated, mixed chairs from different sets etc. Menu is very basic, the type you would expect in a pub. Table was not clean even if there were no glasses, cutlery or plates, so someone removed them but not wiped it. Just your average type of pub.

If this is within your budget then go for it! Great selection of food from bar bites, to desserts and a good selection of drinks too. Good place to meet eat and drink and is dog friendly too. Christmas 2023 - from booking to meeting dietary requirements for myself the staff were supportive and understanding. There was no rush to be seated as each table was appointed with one seating, however we aimed to eat for two pm. Our server asked if we were ready to receive each course and allowed enough time upon request for a pause, so no rush for the table to be cleared and reset for someone else and this format worked in keeping a pleasant atmosphere. This was very welcomed as we had a new-born in our party and so allowed for a feed and a change. The pub had been decorated for the festive season, but not overly decorated and so had a homely comfortable feel. Courses were preselected, were well portioned and well presented. A personalised Christmas card and gift of some chocolates for afters was a very nice touch that rounded off a rather pleasant afternoon spent with both family and friends. So a huge thanks to the Albert Team of the day. The four stars given for service do no relate to my family's Christmas 2023 experience, as this really was something special. It relates to normal trading periods when the bar feels understaffed or the bar is sometimes left unattended and queues/small crowds are allowed to form. Cost of Christmas dinner 2023 was £90 per adult, for three courses and £45 for children. This was also pre-booked and so walk-in food orders were not possible, but remained general managers discretion.

Very limited menu, and quite possibly the worst roast I’ve ever had! Beef was extremely rare, potatoes were awfully cold and hard, soggy cabbage and a flat Yorkshire pudding. Had to wait over 5 min after receiving our roast for our extras which was cold cauliflower cheese and “roast”veg which was more soggy cabbage & a hard potato! Was not offered desserts and the only time we saw the waiter since serving our food was to be handed our bill which we never asked for as the table was needed for another group! Never will we be coming here again! We also heard other people complain about their food, saying the roast is not usually this bad! Very disappointed, especially as our group bill was over £500!!!!

Booked for 17 people months in advance for a family christmas meal, we asked weather or not we needed to pre order our food as you would expect for that many people and time of year, however we was told no need, arrived on the day to find out the car park has been turned into outdoor seating and that you would have to find a space on one of the back roads that was not permits only, we had the balcony area inside the pub, nice little area just enough space for the 17 of us including 3 very young children who required high chairs (high chair request had been made months in advance to ) however this pub only has 2 high chairs in the entire building. The member of staff come and took orders for the drinks and brought them over quickly which also became apparent that there is only 2 members of staff doing the waiting for the entire pub on a Sunday. Ordered the food to be told they only had 2 camemberts obviously this wouldn’t have been an issue if they had let us pre order, also had no tomato pasta for the children either. 8 of us ordered the roast beef, however it was hands down the worst roast any of us had ever witnessed been put together, half a carrot , no swede, a handful of soggy shredded cabbage , 2 1/2 undercooked potatoes 3 slivers of beef still mooing and a Yorkshire pudding that had been through the trenches, the only plus side to it was the gravy was actually ok. As for the sides I would not waste your time ordering these as they are also awful , roast veg consisted of another handful of soggy cabbage and 2 not even roasted potatoes and that was it, the mash was edible, and the cauliflower cheese is abysmal. ( don’t waste the money) The fish and chips looked ok for the adult and also the child’s portion was decent. Didn’t even get to the pudding section as due to no staff working the plates that we piled up and scraped ourselves to make it easier for the staff that were working was not collected for a good while even though our table was booked at 12 and another table of 14 were booked for 3:30pm at 3:15 we was still waiting for plates to be cleared to then be told oh the next party has arrived and that we would have to vacate and pay the bill. The bill came to £502 which included the 12.5% service charge which we was considering to asked to be taken of it but thought that was unfair on the actual staff members that done the best they could so left it, also we paid a £70 deposit to be taken of the bill which apparently they couldn’t sort out at the time so will need to be refunded at a later date. All in all the food is terrible, very slow service due to staff shortages and will not be returning here again unless we hear better reviews coming from the place.

On the search for the best vegan roast in town, the lentil etc roast did not disappoint. Everything was very tasty and presented beautifully however… whilst I’m not strictly vegan, my date was. In place of her Yorkshire pudding, she asked for an extra potato, to which the server said this would not be possible due to a slice of potato’s cost far outweighing the cost of a Yorkshire. Okay fine but we paid £20 per portion, we only got 3 small roast potatoes each, and I’d guess the plate was no more than 1000cal. Not the food coma experience I’ve come to expect from a roast lunch to be honest, so for that I have to rate this roast 3 out of 5. An option to pay for a large portion would be appreciated. A good space for a large party ,but the pub was so cold and no one could take their coat off .Staff were good and food . Need to make it warmer as uncomfortable to sit in all night .

Feel scammed and ripped off. Order drinks and some food all at the bar on a tab. The bar staff joking “come to me to pay”. Worked out why after paying (too late), 12.5% service charge on everything including the rounds of drinks ordered and collected at the bar. A substantial charge it turned out.

Fantastic boozer, I sank 11 or 12 here at the weekend with the Mrs. One of my regulars in the area. Lovely food, the Albert burger is succulent and moist, could have done with a couple of little pickles though 🥹. Great staff, the chap with the long hair and beard is very handsome!! My only disappointment is that my favourite barman, Otter I think he was called, isn’t there anymore. Shame, I miss him dearly.

Very good breakfast/brunch even if the menu is a tad limited. We also had excellent food when booking dinner. Only big criticism is whenever we or acquaintances of ours booked dinner there on a Sunday evening, it has been a huge disappointment. As in we had to wait forever for service. Staff obviously couldn't be bothered. In the end, we left. We had enough waiting. My work colleague had the exact same experience recently. Her party booked for a Sunday evening and staff acted like they were a nuisance for wanting to eat. They also had to wait for a long time and she told me they were hugely disappointed in the whole thing. A bit of advice: If you don't want to serve dinner on Sunday evenings, just stop doing it, do drinks from 4pm and advertise it on your website. It would spare us the bad experience. Shame, as every other time it has been great.

Excellent service, great atmosphere and good old pub grub! We are two couples and we all said what a great time we had, staff are brilliant, special thanks to Brad for looking after us above and beyond :) Nice wine selection, one of group is very much into wine and enjoyed the 3 bottles we had :) We will all definitely go back there.

Good staff, nice atmosphere but let down unfortunately by the food, specifically the kids meals. Sent a kids meal back as the burger was tiny and looked like someone had taken a bite out of it! It was replaced but took a good 20 minutes - not much improvement to be honest. Kids meals were £8.50 - for what you get, a total rip off

The Sunday roast is okay but the daily menu is terrible. I ordered sausage and mash with a side of broccoli, mash was cold, gravy oily and it cost £5.50 for the side, which was 4 pieces of broccoli. This wasn't our first experience, we ate as a table of four previously and the menu looked good but the quality of food was poor then too. To me the Albert is a proper 'looking' foodie pub with a nice beer gatden etc. But the chief really needs to up their game.

Decided to revisit the albert as we have had great experiences in the past but on this occasion we had items missing from the plates, clearly had been a busy day but service and quality shouldnt of slipped! We will no.doubt be back and hopefully the service will resume.

Not such a good experience here this time. We were on a day trip and had originally booked in at another establishment, but as we have been to The Albert before and had a great experience, decided to come here again. The staff were friendly, but a 45 minute wait for food- which we weren’t informed about- and my food eventually turned up with items missing, although once we’d pointed it out, they were served, but at the end of the meal-not ideal really. Such a shame.

The food was delicious, lovely restaurant and friendly staff. Not over busy for a Friday evening but nice and pleasant. I didn’t catch the waiters name ( red head guy ). Very friendly, professional and attentive. Look forward to our next visit.

Nice open pub with plenty of comfortable seating inside and outside. Nicely furnished with some cubby holes for quieter areas. Frequented by Kingston Hospital staff, great for small groups. Private room onto patio which can be reserved. Wooden floors tend to make noise travel quite a lot in the bar area. Selection of lagers not the best, Estrella and some other unknown lager.

I had a great time at The Albert, its atmosphere is great, and the food is really good. The signage for other seating areas (from the main bar) is a bit poor, but with some exploring, I found my way around. I didn't really see any wheelchair accessible areas, however I'm sure the garden has level access. There is a small seating area located near the toilets in which I encountered a big puss. It didn't seem like his natural habitat, but nonetheless, I enjoyed playing with him.
