Shakeaway in Kingston upon Thames

Asked for a frozen yogurt to an employee who replied surprised “I think we do it” It was a melted yogurt..nothing was..”frozen”, except for the strawberries. Extremely disappointing and not cheap. Customer service was as low as the product, unfortunately

Disappointing Experience for the Price I recently visited Shakeaway and paid £6.79for what I expected to be a quality frozen yogurt. Unfortunately, what I received was far from that. The froyo was completely melted, more like a milkshake than frozen yogurt, which was incredibly disappointing given the price. Additionally, the customer service was very slow, and it was clear that the person preparing the order was not properly trained. For a premium price like this, I would expect the staff to be well-trained and the product to meet basic expectations. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional, and I hope the company takes steps to improve both the product quality and the training of their staff. For the price charged, customers deserve much better.

Super lush milkshakes. Sometimes service can be slower than you might like but the wait is worth it. So much choice. So yummy and naughty

Walked 20 minutes for a frozen yoggie. came back with a matcha from Starbucks. We decided to go here even though the bad reviews certainly said a lot. Their frozen yoghurt machine was broken, there was only two staff members and they both looked tired and didn’t even say hello. If you’re reading this, go for milkshakes, yes, but not the best, in my opinion. x

Lovely sunny day, thought to myself ah frozen yogurt would go down a treat. Instead got served a tub of what I would describe as a futile almost frozen tub of milk with some week old frozen strawberries floating around. Lesson learnt, go to snog people

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. Went there to buy a milkshake and 2 girls and a guy were whispering stuff and laughing at customers. That made us leave and find another place to buy a milkshake. Yes, bad atmosphere and vibes made us not want to buy the milkshake, plus no one said hi to customers. This is serious and I don’t think people like this should work in hospitality, as people go there to buy a milkshake and not to be talked bad and laughed about. This was 28/04 afternoon.

Went inside and was offered the menu to look only to be told literally a minute after that they were closing and I could not even order takeaway extremely rude service

Hello, I’m not happy with the service I received on Sunday. You guys clearly state on your menu that you have chocolate brownie yet when I ordered my frozen yogurt and asked for brownies I was told in an unsatisfactory way “We don’t sell brownies” even though it clearly states on the menu!!!! My question is why was I told this if they’re on the menu??? I had to go to Waitrose specifically to buy brownies that I was planning to buy originally from you guys! Not happy!! No brownie points for you. Waitrose will have some points though! You guys don’t have brownies but Waitrose do #gothereinstead #waitrose4life

Been a few times and always had amazing milkshakes and lots more. The staff are also extremely kind, generous and hard working. They always make the best snacks and drinks. Would definitely recommend going!

WALTHAMSTOW NOT KINGSTON: I have been to a numerous amount of shakeaways in my lifetime, always been disappointed that there was not one in London. I was extremely excited to find one in Walthamstow to surprise my other half, we came into the store to not be greeted, waiting for 15 minutes despite being in front of the line. I understand that English may not be the woman serving us’ first language, however, I ordered one large and one regular milkshake and paid the price for this however received two regulars! Furthermore, the milkshakes were the worst piece of drivel I have ever received in my life! Normally, I am very impressed with the quality of Shakeaway contrastingly this place is terrible! 6 people received their order before us despite us ordering before. To top it off, a security guard came in demanded his milkshake and he was given it thusly! NEVER BEEN MORE LIVID!!!! Travel to Ipswich for a better experience! If shakeaway ever end up reading this… YOU OWE ME A DOUBLE OREO MILKSHAKE WITH WHIPPED CREAM AND MINI OREOS ON TOP! AND MAKE IT EXTRA LARGE! P.s. I would take some reviews by previous people with a touch of salt, some people wanna watch the world burn/ think they have a following 🙄 I have never had bad service in shakeaway Kingston as I always look out for shakeaway on my travels with work, the staff always seem super helpful and clearly follow food safety/ hygiene perfectly as I have certain allergies. I can also confirm (unlike the previous review) the banana and peanut butter shake is fantastic and YES it has peanut butter as just peanuts are not an option on the menu. Thank you shakeaway!

Customer service is pretty bad and very slow. The dark skin girl who works there might as well get a job working at Karen’s as she is so rude, and clearly hates working there. Shakes taste ok though. Shame about Karen.

I had my first Soda Shake (Dr Pepper) from Shakeaway and I was quiet impressed with with flavour as it reminded me of a coke flat that I had over 20 years ago. I will definitely be coming back for more again. Also friendly, fast and efficient staff

Came here, it was quite quiet in town for a Saturday. Only maybe 6 other customers in store.... I stood at the till for a good 10 minutes with no one else in front of me. Not even greeted. I think 3 or 4 people are all working, all behind the counter.... Just ignoring me for 10 minutes!!! They took my order finally. I waited a further 15 minutes while they only managed to make 4 orders during the whole time between them. When I got my milkshake I said thanks to the lady who didn't even bother to look at me. Clearly all the staff in there hate being there. I asked for banana and peanut butter. I am almost certain that they just put a few peanuts in and not actual peanut butter. I didnt see them put the peanut butter in but I certainly watched them open banana and split it in 2 then place it in a cup without gloves on. I got bored of staring at my banana in a cup after a while so sat at the back of the store and waited for the milkshake. when I did get it it wasn't even cold, was bland and I threw it in the bin half drunk.

Most of our chocolate brownie was left totally unblended at the bottom of the cup. What a waste of money.

I walk all the way across Kingston to ensure I’m there in time before they close at 6, I arrive at 5:47, plenty of time for them to make a milkshake that takes 2 mins to create. They have multiple customers sitting in there drinking shakes and they’re creating shakes behind the counter. I walk in and get told, that they’re not taking any more orders today. When they are still open! Rude staff and don’t want money / custom apparently! Would avoid if you want anything that resembles customer service! Would give a 0 if it were possible.

Felt very dismissed when I came and asked how it works, wasn’t told much. Not informed in any way that every extra for frozen yoghurt is £1 even tho I asked them about it. Wasn’t told a price when paying either, no recipe. And waiting as if they are milking the cow for the milk to make yoghurt

6 people in front of us, 35 minute wait, one milkshake barely any flavour the other so thick that I physically couldn't even drink it through the straw

I love shakeaway! My fav 2 milkshakes! 1) lemon and lime with minstrels 2) Lime with Maltesers! I’m hopefully going there soon, it’ll be the best time ever! Their drinks and ice creams looks yummy we always get milkshakes which taste so good! 🤤😋

First of all I will start off saying that pre covid this place used to be really good, fast service and great tasting shakes, forward to today 22nd May 2022 and this has completely changed. My partner and I went in around 13:50 with circa 5 people in front of us, some 10 mins later we were served however we could not hear what the member of staff were saying as for some reason ShakeAway seem to have told their staff to continue wear covid visors and have counter shields up which meant they had to repeat themselves a lot, anyway after ordering and whilst waiting I observed the slowest staff member I have ever seen in my life. He was making one shake at a time slowly walking across the place and just going so slow the others had to come come off the till and from the back to speed things up, it was clear he did not want to be there. Whilst waiting in front of us was a customer who clearly stated that they were dairy free and had some other allergy to the server and they wrote this on the cup and someone also in front of us stated that they were nut allergic, this was also on the cup and my partner is gluten intolerant, this was also written on the cup. When the first customer got their shake they confirmed if this was taken in to account, the boy said "I dunno" then just shrugged his shoulders and said "yes", the server asked if he read the cup and he said "no"! They took the shake back and remade it, the nut allergy one the same coz he did not read the cup! My shake came out but my partners did not, we waited and waited and 10 mins later we were like where is the other shake, the boy just left it on the side and didn't bother with it and said "oh I forgot", it was then put in the queue and I asked someone else to make it given what happened with the other two, 10 more minutes later the shake finally came but by then I had finished mine. When hers finally did come out like mine it had no flavour of what we wanted, it was disgusting, and threw it away. It is like they have cut back to the bare minimum of chocolate bars. In all this was the worst experience of ShakeAway I have ever had, the boy needs to go of have training and they need more staff especially on days when it is hot.

Still creating great milkshakes! People were queuing outside the shop - but worth the wait!

I walked into shakeaway was immediately surprised to not get a hello or an attention from the lady behind the counter I waited patiently for ten mins to finally be served I ordered 2 milkshakes and waited a while for them the milkshakes were very expensive but hey ho as I sat down I dropped one the milkshakes on the floor I immediately apologised and told the lady behind the counter I'm heavily pregnant and can't bend down otherwise I would of cleaned it myself but I was quite surprised that I didn't get offered a new milkshake I sat in for a while but no offer I didn't want ask as I didn't want to be rude and the price of the milkshakes I couldn't buy another one I eventually left feeling embarrassed not happy at all

It's our new favourite shop in Kingston. I go there for frozen yogurt which is better than a lot of other places. The only thing is it can get quite busy, but worth it.

Does various types of drinks but we always go for the milkshakes. Very good choices although the amount of choices seems overwhelming on your first few visits. I am used to it now. Good value.

What a lovely store, all the staff are super friendly and so helpful. Love the Halloween flavours.

Served today by lovely staff. Milkshake standards were brilliant.

Milkshakes are ok but whether they're worth the price is an argument for another day. Main gripe was how poorly one of the male employees spoke to a family, with a mentally disabled child, who were taking their time choosing. The eye roll to the customers waiting behind was indefensible - I suggest further training is of immediate necessity. It is of note that the young lady at the till was being friendly and patient - unlike her more senior colleague (indeed perhaps a switch of positions might be in order?). It is a shame that the deplorable actions of this individual left an equally deplorable taste in my mouth afterwards.

We had a terrible experience yesterday. We waited 45 minutes (yes you read right!) for an ice cream even though there was no queue. At the end they came up saying machine broken with no excuses. My son frustrated and then cried for a while. I will not pass in front of this business again.

Best milkshakes in Kingston and they are very good with nut allergies

Slow preparation, hot inside, cups dirty with prepared milkshakes ( or what ever serving staff had been handling ). Milkshakes not even cold. Big disappointment.

The milkshakes are so expensive and service was unbelievably slow. Just cups lining up with no blenders running while staff do other things. Never had to wait so long for a milkshake before.

As always, very friendly and knowledgeable. Great shop and plenty of stock.

Amazing range of milkshakes and smoothie's

I went for a frozen yoghurt, the same lady who took my payment made my order, she was putting something inside with out gloves, and the ice yogurt was looking so disgusting the toppings was just mixed inside, is expensive and no higinic at all. Really disappointed, expensive and disgusting.

First time trying this place. It was a nice hot day so we stopped in wanting some frozen yogurt, they were not selling this at the moment so we went for a smoothie instead. We asked for 3 different flavours and they were out of almost all the ingredients. We finally got our smoothies and they were bland and sickly. Tasted artificial and definitely not worth the £4 each that we paid for a small size. Staff were friendly and apologetic so gave them 2 stars, although one wasn’t wearing a mask which wasn’t very comforting to see as he prepped our drinks. UPDATED: I am updating my review as I have since had a discussion with the Shakeaway customer services team and I was very pleased with the way they took everything on board and acknowledged all of my concerns. I’m always have to give credit where it’s due and although there were initial mistakes I feel like I have been heard and that’s all I could ask for.

Very pleased. I liked the staff as they heavily friendly and want to help. Shakes are often delicious, and made properly. A little pricy but worth it.

For the second in a month the ice cream machine is not working. Just close the doors and give option to another business.

The worst experience for a milkshake. Slow staff, poor quality shakes, over heated shop, furniture falling apart. They couldn’t have made it any worse if they had tried too. Do not waste your time or money with this store.

Absolute joke of a shop, useless employees. Went in twice, two weeks apart and both times frozen yoghurt machine was broken. No signs up stating this, so we waited in the long que for ten minutes, and they even took our money and only told us it was still broken after another ten minute wait. Pathetic customer service, will never visit this joke of a store again. AVOID.

The staff are rude and unprofessional, in their defence they are treated very badly by the company as a staff member has told me. The hygiene is appalling you can see cleaning isn’t done regularly through out the day. You have to wait 30 minutes sometimes for a milkshake that turns out not too be worth the wait. The staff don’t care about what they are doing and don’t try to make people smile. Would not recommend!!!

An absolute shambles, the hygiene of the three lads working today is appalling. Long hair not tied up, one of which was a highly greesy, coughing in their hands then handling food. Waited for 20 mins at leastfor a shakes which were left to sit there half made for a long time as the lads wandered around gourmlessly.

Horrible customer service. Went with my husband and son today when the place was empty. Got asked to take a sit while he prepares our milkshakes. Other girls came in and they got served before us after we waited 15 minutes. When we asked how come they got served before us he became very rude and we had to ask for a refund which we hardly got from him. A child waiting for his milkshake seems to be less of a priority than two girls he can flirt with

20 minutes to make a peanut butter soya milkshake and strawberry frozen yoghurt... Really terrible and awfully slow service!!

Can't describe this as healthy or even a bargain but it is a treat no question. Wait times in busy periods, particularly at weekends can be 10 mins but that just demonstrates the quality and popularity of the shakes.

I'm amazed how well the staff act considering how rude some customers are. Gets very busy but you can see the young people working very hard I suppose you want a quick shake you go to mc Donalds other wise you wait for something more special I come here regularly because of the service well done Thomas and team

The milkshakes are yummy but definately not worth the wait. WE both ordered a strawberry milkshake (after they told me they hadn't actually bought in any passionfruit). We waited for over half an hour for our milkshakes to be made after we had paid. How this is possible with 5 members of staff working behind the counter is beyond me. they have 4 blenders to use but it didn't seem to dawn on most of the staff that they are there so you can make more than 1 milkshake at a time! The place also needs a really good clean. All the little containers thwith all the ingredients look like they need a wile down, as did the spashback and the surfaces. The floor was also pretty disgusting. I think this place may have been good a few years ago but really, I don't know how this place can still be in business given the long wait times and lack of clenliness.

Slowest and most miserable looking staff I have ever encountered. The shaved ice was tasteless and I had to ask for some fruit topping as there wasn't any at all.

It's not bad. Compared to other reviews, maybe we were lucky when we went. Because we went about 10 minutes before closing time. So they were fairly quick. the milkshake had a nice taste, but was the consistency of soup really, whilst my friend's was not blended fully. So staff need to be a little careful when blending.

Waited more than 30 mins for a milkshake. Staff made fun of customers as they waited for their shake. Ridiculous, stay far away. Better off going to creams.

I read some other reviews about the slow service here but thought they must be exaggerated and went anyway. But no. It took them an hour to make 4 milkshakes. There were maybe 10 people ahead in the queue. Staff ambling about and chatting. Then they ran out of ice cream! Milkshakes were very nice but that's not the point

Milkshakes were alright, service was very very slow though and they were very busy so took a while with just 2 staff on a busy Friday night. Staff didn't seem to be in a hurry. Also one guy taking money and making milkshakes (snapping chocolate bars etc) with the same gloves - not really ideal food hygiene.

Frozen yogurt machine was not working, card machine was not working, was told he did not have half the ingredients that was advertised. Super slow service with a do not care attitude.

Today milkshakea were probably one of the worsted we ever got. One was not mixed at all, the other had no raspberry in it. Sad, long(huge queue) and expensive experience....

Am waiting in Shakeaway as I wtite this. Seems to be an age that we have been waiting. Staff have no enthusiasm and walk around in a daze with absolutely no idea that the customers in the queue are getting frustrated due to it being so nice outside. Really bad experience

Really getting fed up of this place now. Long waits and then they don't have the ingredients for our order. We are long-term customers but are avoiding Shakeaway more and more due to these problems.

Staff apologetic for the wait but should have more staff on a hot day like today, and atleast acknowledge people waiting

No queue when we arrived, order 2 shakes... then 4 mores customers came in an rather than start our shakes the 1 staff member spent 15 minutes taking their orders ... half an hour in and still no sign of our drinks! Might go to Starbucks instead, but will prob have to wait and hour for a refund!

So there's a reason why the queue is out the door not because it's amazing.. it's because the you end up waiting 30 minutes for a large frozen yogurt and then find out the machine is broken and given the opportunity to get a refund or a shake (which ended up being a regular shake) Pretty sure the overall experience for everyone is try once and avoid at all costs

Staff are very unprofessional. Takes forever to make a simple milkshake, the staff were too concerned about who's break it was, when they could could go out for a cigarette and making free shakes for their friends. Don't bother going.
