Wetherspoons in City of London, Westminster

My food arrived quickly after ordering in the app and the waitress was very friendly and returned to the table checking back in us after we received our food. Mum had ham egg and chips and I had the Steak which was done to perfection and I asked the waitress to compliment the chef on my steak as it was one of the best I’ve had for a long time . I know this is a chain but the customer service is very good here and we will be back again for sure

We went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The table was ok and the service was fine but we were plagued by flies!

**beware, my 12 year daughter got chatted up by a 45 year old man and then we got racially abused. No-one helped us and one manger was laughing. Can't believe this establishment allows this type of behaviours. Do not go there.

Not a 5* pub but good for a few cheep drinks. The staff are quite friendly and the drinks are a good price will be back again.

The staff are great: polite, hard working and under appreciated, but I was dragged to the Wetherspoons by a friend and reminded why I can’t stand this chain of pubs.

The standards for this Wetherspoons are beyond awful, I have only ever been once and it has put me off for life. Visually, this pub is a function hall with a bar, nothing more, apart from gambling machines scattered all over. I ordered a burger and got given less than I would have got in a maccies happy meal. The burger was drier than the Sahara, no cheese and almost no sauce. The buns may well have been the two ends of a load of bread. This was served with a unflattering amount of chips. My friend ordered the sausage and mash, the mash was solid and inedible. The staff were quick to offer a refund once we mentioned the food to them, which suggests that this is not a rare occurrence. We were at the pub for about an hour and not once did the staff come to check on us or clear the plates from our table after we requested a refund. I have visited many Wetherspoons all around London, I will not be returning to this one if I ever go to Chelmsford again. I was amazed that the pub had so many customers, until one of them picked up an unattended plate and started digging in. I work in a pub in Camden so I have a fairly good idea on how everything works, unfortunately I have not a single good comment apart from the huge primark opposite

Quick meal in here, we normally use the app the order but it was saying a lot of food was out or stock but when asked the staff behind bar they had it in so ordered at the bar. Great food and service

American cheese burger arrived with nothing on just 2 dry patties NO CHEESE - Tuna & cheese panini arrived with NO CHEESE - no garnish at all just bland food missing items - very very low food standards in this place we will not eat here again only good for a cheap drink could also do with a refurb.

I went to the Ivory Peg a couple of weeks ago for breakfast. The tables were clean in what was a busy period which always resonates with me; I can't stand going in to a pub with dirty tables. The bar area was also clean and tidy. I ordered my breakfast and the poached eggs were absolutely perfect. At most Wetherspoons, the eggs are hard so I was really happy. The food was delivered within minutes of ordering and was at the right temperature. AND the toilets were clean and tidy. I would definitely visit here again. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely dreadful. It was freezing cold in there and I never feel the cold normally. Our food came out very quickly and the staff were very efficient. Unfortunately, my chicken was so dried out and hard I couldn’t even get my knife through it. I tried to carry on but eventually had to say something. The young lady was very apologetic and came back with another piece of chicken that had been microwaved. Along with the cheapest possible brand of peas that were like bullets, it actually put me off food. It upset my stomach.

We visited here Saturday afternoon for lunch and a few drinks. The food and service was good. Bit messy in parts but generally ok.

What a shame that Essex's county town should have such a poor example of a Wetherspoons. On our most recent visit the pub was once again packed but understaffed, leading to long waits and filthy tables. After only one of our 2 beers turned up (after 30 minutes) we had to ask ourselves about the other one only to find out that it, and apparently every other cask beer in the place, was off - and this during a beer festival! It's far from the first time we have had problems with advertised beers not being available here. The whole place is loud, echoing chamber too and not somewhere to pick for a relaxing pint. 2 stars instead of one because the food was OK and every member of staff we dealt with was doing their best under trying circumstances.

I am perplexed as to why this Wetherspoons has been put under the category "Quick Bites". Let me tell you that there is absolutely nothing quick about this place. When we ordered our 3 meals and 3 soft drinks today (from our sticky table that had not been cleared of its previous occupant's plates) it said on the app that there was a 22 minute wait for food and 15 for drinks. That's fine, we were happy with that. However... in reality the food came after 55 minutes and the drinks after 58. Three soft drinks, 58 minutes!!!!! We did ask where our order was after 40 minutes and was told that they were going as fast as they could! Pardon me for being so unreasonable! I realise there may be staff shortages or other reasons for food delay but I do think the app should reflect the true wait time, not one plucked from thin air. Give people a chance to decide whether they want to wait that long but definitely don't make them wait nearly an hour for 3 cokes! The food when it arrived was good pub grub and good value. Would have got more than 2 stars if it were judged on that alone.

Went to ivory peg today. Ordered two pizzas. After 45 min ask if pizzas would be much longer. Another waiter said sorry we have run out pizza dough. Asked what you like instead. The bar person who look are order said that's £4 something, he said he sent someone to are table and no one was there. We didn't leave the table.
