Stale cake, ice cream tastes of nothing, the portions are made without any care. I wouldn't order from here again. Very disappointing

First of all it’s unacceptable for staff to smoke in front of the shop. Very unprofessional from the staff to tell the customers ,,go inside and wait for me to finish their cigarette,, ,no apologies.

this is my last time ordering from Afters. They don’t care about online orders. They just do it for sake of it. The order never matches its photo on deliveroo.

Arrived here at approx 10pm and was turned away because “they are closing and can only do takeaway”. On here it clearly states that this branch closes at 11pm. I would understand if it was 10.30 and the staff need time to close down the restaurant, but turning customers away a whole hour before closing time (with no other customers in there) isn’t good customer service. Just seemed like the staff was more concerned about going home early. Looking at previous google reviews this seems to be a recurring issue that clearly hasn’t been resolved.

The only thing this place is after, is your cash. Small portions with big prices. Better value can be found in a supermarket.

I ordered food from Croydon Afters and it was great. Best service from this store. Very happy with the food I have ordered for 6 people and everyone loved the food/ waffles,crepes and milkshakes. 100% would order from this Afters Croydon again. Very happy. :)

Massive variety of delicious ice creams and cakes which is well presented but slightly slow service. It needs refurbishing.

Ordered a delivery on just eat , was very disappointed with the portion size as it was expensive. £13.50 for 2 scoops of ice cream 🍨& an overdone cookie 🍪 This was also delivered by a man on a push bike so the ice cream was slightly melted.

just ordered utterlynutty cold stone ice cream by ubereats in croydon branch for my birthday today and requested to change the scoops to cappucino and ferro rocher instead which they did not bother to read the notes and the nuts on it were stale did not tasted right like when they have been kept for really long time not fresh and another icecream called chocolate fudge brownie in which icecream tasted sour which is not right . really disappointed and spoiled the mood for my birthday i have given the review in trip advisor . they should cancel the order and issue the refund, really spoiled my birthday by having the horrible icecream from here, tried calling them but no answer

Walked in to afters and had to wait five minutes for the shop keeper to actually come back to his shows (we was left in the shop unsupervised), then we placed are order once it was ready instead of the waiter bringing it to us he called us over and told us to collect if from the till which was outrageous because he was not even busy we was the only ones there, then he got are order wrong we asked for geleto he gave us ice cream once confronted about it he said it’s all the same definitely won’t be going back there such a shame the place use to be really nice if I was the owner I would get rid of his terrible staff.

wanted to visit crepes & cones but it was closed. The lurid colours of Afters beckoned, thinking it would be similar to creams/kaspars we decided to try as how bad could it be right? I ordered the ferrero rocher waffle & got a bricklike stale waffle with chocolate sauce & whole mixed nuts that were the remnants of someone's value bag from the local tesco. The ferrero was nowhere to be seen. Hubby ordered very berry & got sickly sweet icecream covered in tooth melting red sauce & fresh berries which were the only decent thing. £17 lighter & very disappointed we were told well thats what you ordered.. Save your money and just get a solero or calippo...

You can't go wrong with this place for kids! A really nice treat in a blingy colourful space. Not too expensive either, if you don't get carried away. I really enjoyed the waffles.

Went with my family for dessert after having dinner nearby. A huge selection of ‘afters’ and the food and service was good. The prices are quite high though. The place itself needs a fair bit of repair (torn seats?) and a good clean up.

I ordered from Deliveroo, last two times the main ingredient from the desserts has been missing which is very poor considering the price you pay for each dessert

Me and my partner went to Afters Croydon. Very disappointed with the service and attitude of the staff there. We were at the shop at 22:13, it was shocking as they cleaned all machines and they do not do any crepe or waffle. As for them it was too late to serve. But the shop close at 23:00 so I don’t understand why they don’t serve.

One of the best dessert place. Very polite staff and very good environment. Need some light and decoration but overall it’s very good.

Popped in to grab some dessert to enjoy at home. The restaurant was so vibrant and looked very clean. The staff were polite and quick to help. I ordered a Milky Way milkshake and a choc choc choc ice cream box. Have to say it was delicious and very nicely presented.

Came here on a Friday night recently with my partner for some late night ice-cream.

Despite a previous order of milkshakes being delivered without any straws. I ordered milkshakes through Deliveroo as a special treat for my children, even allowed them to stay up late.

Ideal place for a variety of ice creams, in this hot and humid weather. The place is air conditioned and fairly clean.

Terrible service!! Waited ages to be served. Got compleyely ignored. Gave up in the end after watching families that came in after us be served before us. Walked out. Waste of time!

I’ve tried to go 3 times but was never open at 12.30, 1.00 or 1.15 it’s suppose to open at 12.00. One of the occasions a member of staff was waiting outside but said the manager with the keys wasn’t answering his phone. Won’t bother again!

Went in with 2 friends and we instantly noticed the place was a dive- paint peeling off the walls & staff were sitting on a table scoffing a KFC!

Just came here for my sons 6th birthday with my family (12 of us) and it was awful!! Puddings arrived in drips and drabs, they told us they could only do the cookie dough one at a time! When we asked if we could have a candle or some sparklers for the birthday boys dessert we were told they had run out a few days ago!! When the desserts did finally arrive, the hot chocolate fudge brownie cakes were all cold!! (5 of them) we will definitely not be returning here ever again and will advise as many people also to save there money as we have to pay £110 for the bad service, cold desserts, and not even a candle for the birthday boy

The most horrible service ever!!! This Sunday 30 of July 2017 my boyfriend and I dedicated to try Afters desserts,and we were very disappointed. It was 3 guys working that day, it wasn't busy at all. Befor us was jus few costumers,but we was waiting...

You feel like you're 10 again when you step in here, the extensive menu will have you salivating for hours, so many coma inducing things to choose from.My only complaint is they no longer serve soft ice cream, if you are not going to serve it please take it off your menu. I spent a full 20 minutes deciding what to have only to be told they no longer serve it, cue the snap decision!!!Great none the less.

Went there a Sunday evening with some friends and the place was nice and relaxing. The waffle was nice and the staffs were nice and friendly.

The menu is extensive so there is something for everyone on there. lovely booths and not pricey at all.

Normally love this place!!! But today was a sad experience every time I go to afters I have the same thing. Waffle with white chocolate sauce bubble gum and cookies 'n' cream ice cream with fruit cocktail whip cream and 100s 'n' 1000s. When I arrived at afters today a lady greeted me and my friend asked if we was eating in or taking out then said please choose a table once we sat down she gave us a menu each then said I'll be back soon to take your order when looking at the menu I realised they had put there prices up. we placed our order at this point there's was 2 other people in the restaurant our milkshakes came within 5 minutes around 3 minutes later the dessert arrived me and my friend noticed they up their prices but shrunk their desserts..... not very happy to pay more for less!!!!! Defo gunna go delights in Croydon next time.

Really disappointed with our visit, this place used to be amazing when it first opened. Today the service was awful, card machine not working & run out of most of the desserts. It's clear the owner doesn't want to invest into this business. This was such a good place to come but unfortunately we won't be back anytime soon.

Visited afters tonight for a treat. The service was good and the ice cream was very good. Well worth a visit to at least try Afters.

Went there with my 10 yo niece. We've ordered at the bar and they took 40 minutes to serve an ice cream and a crepe. The place was not even crowded so I struggled to understand what was happening until I realized that they had forgotten my order. No apologies made and nothing to make up for their mistake with a nice gesture. Ridiculous way of treating customersPlus, the crepe was far too sweet and really not good. Mango milkshake ended up in the bin as I could not finish it. Taste was far too artificial and the texture was weird.

I have visited many times over the past few years and every time we have enjoyed our experience. The decor is vibrant and very inviting especially to children. Inside the decor is done to a high standard in a pink and black American diner theme. There's a fun juke box which allows customers to browse hundreds of songs or even plug in their ipods/iphones to listen to their favourite music.The gelato is tasty with a good selection of flavours and sundaes. With the wide selection of ice cream, desserts and shakes there's something for everyone. I love their gelato ice cream, I can tell it is good quality and have sampled lots of flavors.The shakes are very tasty and with the option to make any chocolate bar shake you can think of....the choice is yours, you can even choose to have biscuit shakes, fruit shakes and shakes from any flavor of gelato. They also offer waffles with real Belgium chocolate sauce, crepes, freshly squeezed juices, chocolate covered strawberries and hot and cold drinks. Great choices for a kids birthday for example, I took my daughter and her friends here for her 5th birthday and they all loved it. Would highly recommend.

Upon entry I was hit by the smell of chemicals or spray or whatever it was, it didn't smell nice and inviting. I ordered nutella waffle and I expected to get similar thing as elsewhere. I got really small waffle with a scoup of nutella and it didn't taste as good as I expected, maybe I'm picky but I honestly didn't like it. Maybe it was the smell or the feeling that the whole food seemed cheap. Most places give ice cream in addition to your waffle, here they don't give it to you.

Have visited on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. I always fail to understand why desserts in most restaurants are so expensive but I think that Afters is reasonably priced. They have a good selection of flavours and my favourites are; white chocolate, cherry and mint chic chip. They do numerous combinations and you can always find a dessert within your budget. The staff are friendly but I could imagine that during evenings and weekends it could be very popular. We nearly always pop in when we eat locally and 4 people can have a lovely dessert for around £15-20 which at today's prices I don't think is too bad.

'Afters', as the name suggests would most probably be a place dedicated to desserts after your main meal in one of the many restaurants locally. Unfortunately it just so happens that this is a pure ice cream & milkshake parlour with very little etiquette and terrible service.Their ice cream (if that is the main staple of their establishment) is always too cold. Real gelato/ice cream should never be sold this cold.The two occasions I've been here and their card machine wasn't working and was 'cash' only. I always get suspicious when places continuously refuse card payments (for whatever reason). A few colleagues have been here and said their card payments were refused also. Not sure what the reason behind the 'cash only' rule but when you order four desserts + coffee (which is not their strong point)and the total comes to £34!, one would usually pay by card.Anyway, their ice cream is always too cold and service rubbish and they don't take card payments-hence I will most probably have a dessert in the restaurant instead.

Visited the Croydon branch Sunday 10th of January. Ordered two milkshakes, one Malteser shake and second being a Crunchie. Both milkshakes came out completely wrong, from my understanding they should come with Vanilla ice-cream and chocolate bits inside. These both came with chocolate ice-cream which meant the chocolate bits which was blended was completely ruled out and pointless. Once the milkshakes had been sent back the one member of staff (Victor) who was making milkshakes advised this is how they come....which from previous experiences I am more than sure they don't. By the time we had finished our Dessert the milkshakes then joined which was not at all ideal. Following the mistakes the member of staff (Victor) managed to get the bill wrong and didn't seem to care less.Victor was very happy for this complaint to go on Trip Advisor, and I ashamed to say he Isn't giving After's a very good name. I must say the other Staff were very helpful and agreed with the mistakes with the milkshakes.

We came here a few weeks ago and loved it so much that we came back today, love this place lots as such a variety on their menu for the kids and adults who love their sweet deserts.

Visited here with my friends to have some desserts on our way back from the movies and we were greeted to a great selection of desserts. We decided to try the Falooda as not many people are able to perfect such a unique dessert. To our surprise the Falooda was quite nice, above average standard compared to the other dessert/ice cream parlours around the area. Will definitely be back soon!

There are SO many options to choose from and so many various flavours. If you don't feel like ice cream there's always waffles with chocolate sauce or a fresh fruit salad!!! It's a great place to hang out with friends and there is a friendly atmosphere with happy, cheerful music playing in the background.

After eating locally we decided to have our deserts here and what a good decision that was, the items we ordered were fantastic, the place was clean and presented well, the staff also friendly & helpful, although a little pricey, but quality deserts none the less.

We went here for my 21st birthday on a whim after being out at a restaurant and not fancying their desserts. It was really great! It's a fun atmosphere, with a duke box to add to the American diner theme. Collectively, we tried a good range! The waffles with fruit were really fresh and tasty, the ice cream was creamy and flavourful, and the cold stone options were really good. They definitely don't do things by halves! The sundaes are big and sauced up to the max, with plenty of add ins and ons! It's a fun place to visit for a one-off, but not sure I would visit all the time.

Even as a middle aged man/dad I love the place. The ice cream dishes are put together nicely and good sized portions. Yes u may find children having fun and maybe a bit loud BUT that's the whole point of a place that does just ice cream and deserts isn't it ? The service is good as well. Back next week

Like the idea of this more than the execution. Went in the evening and was confronted by lots of small children up way to late and beyond their bed times - too late to eat and too late to be up - hence the screaming. Could not fault food, but ambience enough to put me off forever.

This little place is nestled between restaurants and we came by this by chance. They serve a wide variety of ice creams and provide sumptuous portions that sometimes we just eat desserts here for our meal! Beverages are OK - but they qualify themselves as dessert specialists so I can forgive them that. The service is good - they help you understand what goes inside and especially the quantity (which is quite important ;) ). We are trying to cut back on sugars else we would be much more regular than we are currently :)

According to Food Standards Agency their hygiene rating is 3, which I could see why. They are trying as they clean tables very quickly with chemical spray, but you could smell that chemicals in the whole restaurant. I was worried if my food was sprayed with it as well, and the table was smelly too. They should change that sprays for something more environmentally friendly. Also, I didn't like that guy who was making and touching food was also touching money without cleaning hands or wearing gloves. It was very not hygienic. Portions of the sundees were fair. Waffles were smaller than in other waffles places, but also cheaper. Most places include free ice cream scoop with waffles, they didn't so I can see why it's cheaper. Service was very nice and friendly, but unprofessional. I won't visit them again, as it's not worth it when nicer and cleaner places are around.

Lovely selections of Ice Creams......Mouth watering selections ...but a little on the pricey side. Bethany the waitress was charming and very helpful.Only downside was being told that the credit card machine was not working and we had to go to an ATM to get the cash to pay the bill !Some ices were so large that sharing would be better...ask for 2 spoons !Coffee was delicious and reasonably priced.ONLY ICE CREAMS and Coffee......Nothing Else! Great Place to go after a meal.

I love puddings! My daughter took me to afters for my birthday. Good quality and great presentation. Has to be the best sweet tooth fix and the staff were more than helpful. Nice clean environment. I will return.

Good but bit expensive for ice cream and shakes. verity of flavors but feel comfortable with family to sit in. service is fine. staff is young, quick and clean.

Given a very good rating as the desserts here are to die for. I always leave in a food coma, feeling a little bit fat and occasionally sick from gorging on too much. Wouldn't say it is good value for money but nonetheless worth a try.

Afters has the best ice cream in terms of quality and flavours....creams is very artificial and the staff are rude. Afters has great service and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Even though it is winter who can resist a cheeky ice cream? Not me! And especially when it's from Afters!! Been to Afters a few times and can honestly say it's has been fantastic every time. I had a yummy Sunday with chocolate fudge brownie pieces!! Very clean and friendly staff. Two thumbs up

I recently visited Afters with my two children who were amazed by the beautiful sundae's put in front of them. The customer service was great and a young waitress was extremely polite and even engaged in a conversation with myself. The place was clean and well looked after. Extremely impressed and will definitely be returning soon.

I find this Ice Cream Parlour failing on a few points, customer service is lacking. During my last visit I had to ask 4 times for the bill.... Unacceptable. And, I don't understand you get charged extra to sit down? I wouldn't rush back if I am honest, I am sure I could make myself something similar at home for half the cost..........

Order 2 sundaes. Both came with very melted icecream that looked like vomit. We had a few spoonfuls before asking for the bill. We complained and the staff apologised. Won't be going there again. You can see the state of the icecream on entering. Avoid.

My friend and I visited the south croydon branch as a well deserved treat. On entering we wasn't greeted instead the assistant was on her mobile clearly taking a very important personal call. A rather tired looking man emerged from the back and showed us to our seat. The parlour was empty but never the less we looked through the menu to choose a ice cream.Well... the ice cream arrived on a tea cup saucer and as we looked down at our plates we were left wondering what kind of ice cream scoops they used. Maybe the kind you find in a infant formula tin? We quickly ate our mouthful of ice cream and went to pay the bill only to find out we were charged for sitting down! So to all the ice cream lovers out there, you'll have more fun buying a bog off offer at your local supermarket and eating your dessert in the car park!

This gaudy, tatty retro style 50's diner would not be out of place in the set of 'Happy Days'. On entering I was surprised to find the place empty ... should have been a warning ! I was directed to a booth and given a menu - all desserts looked amazing, even though a bit pricey for ice cream. The desserts which arrived were on a tiny saucer and the ' 2 ' scoops of ice cream could only have been scooped out using a thimble so I understood why I was given a tiny spoon to eat it with ! Joking aside, the ice cream its self was very nice, only no where near enough for the £5.95 price tag. When I went to the counter to pay I was again surprised that what should have cost £11.90 had actually transpired in to £13.09 for ' eat in charge ' ... my response was " no wonder this place is empty and I definitely will not recommend to others "

We loved our visit here and ate our weight in desserts! Enjoyed it all and so much choice too and at reasonable prices. Its hard to choose so I think plenty of return visits are in order!

If you love desserts you will love Afters!! A massive range of desserts and very tasty. Not been disappointed to date. Yes it's pricey but that's always the downside of an indulgent treat! Definitely worth a visit.

For the very first time I have visited your Croydon store earlier this evening. I had almost finished my ice cream when, since I was sitting on a table just in front of the ice cream fridge, I have noticed a girl with long hair preparing an order and bending her untied hair right inside the ice cream fridge. Also the other long hair waitress was not wearing any hat any no one keep their hair safely and hygienically tied. Another girl swearing in Italian without thinking that also customers might be Italian and understand her loud speaking but the horrible final thing that happened is that a new training guy accidentally dropped all the plastic takeaway cups from the top of the fridge to the dirty floor. A waitress came, picked up all the cups and instead of throwing them in the bin, she placed them back ready to be used for new customers. When our bill arrived at the table and we've been asked by the waitress if everything was ok, I told her that I believe those cups for hygiene reasons should not be put back and used, as she replied 'it's ok' without really caring and acting as if nothing happened, I stood up and left the store. Never ever again I will spend my money there or take any friends.

If you like desserts, then you will like Afters. I've never paid £9 for an ice cream before. But it was nice. They had a good range and I enjoyed mine. My gf had a hot chocolate which she said was delicious. Staff were friendly and service was good. Just £9 for an ice cream.. Ouch.

First and last visit to Afters. Thought it would be a nice treat for my family. The three out of the four ice creams were OK. Could have bought a tub in supermarket which would be the same quality. Fourth ice cream was so sweet my 11 year old daughter couldn't eat it. The cost of three average tasting ice creams and one too sweet ice cream came to the total of £ 27 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Never again.

I went here for dessert after a scrumptious lunch and Karnavars.The ice-cream melted in my mouth and filled me to the brim. I had the 'Brownie Minister' and it was delightful

I've not been to Afters for a couple of years and was looking forward to going as a treat for my daughters birthday as previously it had been so delicious, although very expensive. We arrived and it was empty, we were the only customers in there. The decor is quite shabby looking now and most of the furniture is chipped and sorry looking. The very friendly waitress came over and handed us the menus, which were so grubby and old they needed to go in the bin. We chose our deserts and waited hopefully. I ordered the same desert I have had twice previously. Firstly when our food arrived we commented that the " edible bowls" were not as pictured with chocolate around the top and the " whipped cream" was synthetic and certainly not fresh cream, which was what was advertised, the sauce on top looked and tasted like a very bottom end supermarket sauce that almost glowed it was so bright red. The actually ice cream was certainly not the quality that we had on previous visits and again tasted really cheap and nasty. My sister ordered a cheesecake which was literally the actual one I have brought from a budget frozen food supermarket again with glow in the dark red topping that was so sweet that she couldn't finish it. None of us ate even half of our desert as they were so sweet and artificial tasting. I then took my son to the toilet and was disgusted. The main toilet was out of order so we had to use the baby changing one. There was no toilet seat, the toilet paper was on the floor as no holder for it, the general standard of cleanliness was poor, as I came out I walked past a small kitchen area that had the staff hand wash basin in it as well as fridges. Again low standard of cleanliness and the staff basin was full of handbags and items of clothes. We went to pay and I was astounded that the bill was over £32. This was for a small slice of plastic tasting cheesecake, three children's ice creams and one cold stone desert. I would NEVER go there again and do not recommend. Sad as last visit couple years ago, it was expensive but very tasty.

Wonderful place in the heart of south croydon. Perfect location in the 'restaurant quarter.' Been a 2-3 times now. Cosy, pink(!!) and a nice place to hang out. Wonderful service. Amazing ice cream (proper stuff!) Bit of a wait sometimes on weekends i think.

It's a little bit expensive for the sundaes. £5.95 being the cheapest one- which isn't that bad really! And there's an eat in charge added on at the end when you eat in. And in the summer sometimes you literally can't get a table it gets so busy. But the waffles are so nice, lovely smoothies and the sundaes are so good! Me and my boyfriend have eaten here quite a lot and we're never disappointed with the desserts. It's nice to go here after an evening meal around croydon for your dessert as there's loads to choose from.

visited last weekend. We booked a table, they had lost the booking !! Luckily we didn't have to wait long as a group had just left a table. Which wasn't wiped before we were seated. Visited the gents where there is no toilet seat !! The deserts were good. We were charged a 10% fee for eating in !! How ridiculous. Never again.

This is one of the best place me and my family love to visit on every weekends.... Lots of variety ...like to try different one every time... Great taste.... Love you afters.....

As much as I do like it here I find it very over priced for a bit of ice cream! Taking my 2 kids in there for a treat cost me over £20 Think they should make take aways slightly cheaper then eating in

i actually went to the one in Sutton high street for a lunch treat for the children and not sure who loved it more was it us (adults) or the kids?.. :) :) :) ... Really nice ice cream.

Very dissatisfied with the customer service. Arrived with my family of 5 at 10.20pm, to be told they close at 11pm and therefore the waitress could not seat us - because they could get home for 11pm more like. Ridiculous!
