JD Wetherspoon in Greenwich

A meet up with friends before going to football and my first visit here. Good selection of Lagers and Ales, pleasant atmosphere and a very clean premises, the good thing about "Spoons" s you get genuine value for money!

Found seating upstairs and it wad very quiet. Ordered and didn't have to wait long the portion sizes (compared to other Wetherspoons, in London) were tiny. The food was burnt, we couldn't find staff to remake the food. Won't be coming back.

My friend and I were here on Tuesday 6th February. My friend chose to go to the bar when it was quiet so she could get served. I was sitting at a table a fair way facing the bar. My friend had an altercation with a man who suddenly appeared after her and whom she accused of pushing in. She poured his drinks over his legs after an argument. Next thing I know, he's approached the table where I was sitting and threw the rest of the contents over myself. Then come around the side of the table and as I was getting ready to leave hit me over the head . Then with my back turned on leaving dragged me to the floor. I had to go to hospital quickly as I'm on blood thinners. The staff did absolutely nothing. This is now a police matter for assault. The is not a cheap and cheerful bar. More like cheap and nasty with moronic staff. Full of toothless methers. Avoid at all costs.

Good Wetherspoons pub in Greenwhich. Spacious and inexpensive food and drink. If in the area shopping its a good stop off point, with charging area as well. I enjoyed this place.

We were staying in the area as we were going to see Madonna at the 02. As it's next to the tube, it was handy for our wait to be allowed in the hotel we booked. We had a few beers and then ordered dinner, two mixed grills that were edible, we also returned the next morning for breakfast that did the trick and was not extortionate in price they even poached my eggs. The establishment was clean, as were the toilets, which was only one staircase up. We would stay in the same area again if we come back.

This is a weird spoons where the staff are always grumpy and make you feel grateful for them serving you, the ale range is poor and usually not on. Food is average spoons fare. Prices continue to go up. Maybe the location being a tourist spot, just makes this a lazily run pub.

Came here for a nice night out with some friends, left having been forced pay for a drink we were given despite it being entirely the waitresses fault. We had ordered several pitchers of drinks. When they came we drank them, then after we’d finished drinking almost all of them, the waitress came back and demanded we pay for a drink that was meant for another table as if we were meant to know exactly what we were brought, for context, we had at least 10 pitchers on the table. My friend was made to pay the £12.50 fee. Absolutely livid.

Not all Wetherspoons are equal. Not the most inspiring building but a handy location. People say the menu is the same at all Wetherspoons, but this is the only one I have seen Ramen noodles at, and they were very tasty with the additional extras of chicken and egg. If only the guy in charge of Wetherspoons wasn't such a strange bloke (to put it politely) I could ask why via social media...

Everywhere we go Wetherspoons is our port of call. This was our first time in Greenwich. My wife had fish and chips which was good. The fish was large and tasty. However I had the all day bruch. They had the oil too hot for my eggs. They were bubbled to a crisp. All black and dry. The yolks were solid. Also they were upside down. Why would they serve eggs this way?. It's all about presentation. Some poor chef is getting minimal wage and has lost the will. Though serving me a substandard meal is not the the answer. Sort yourselves out 'spoons.

Had a really nice cod and chips today. Great service from staff. Ordered the same the other day from a wetherspoon up north and had a bad experience.

Came for breakfast before getting the train home and got exactly what you expect, cheap, cheerful and reasonable food. Staff were friendly and the food was hot! After an expensive weekend in restaurants that did not warrant their prices (or service charges!!) its nice to just enjoy something that is good value for money.

They fed my vegetarian boyfriend meat and never apologised. Really disgusted with the service today. My boyfriend and I ordered breakfast wraps. I eat meat and he is vegetarian so we ordered one meat, and one veggie breakfast wrap. When the waitress brought them over she said she had one veggie and one meat. We both said, he was the vegetarian and she put the food down in front of us and we started eating. Soon we realised that he had been given the meat wrap and he was immediately feeling unwell as he hasn’t consumed meat in over 10 years. We told the waitress what had happened and that we needed to leave immediately as he was about to be sick. I said we needed a refund. The staff were not keen to refund us even though their mistake made my boyfriend violently unwell for the rest of the day. NOT ONCE DID ANYONE APOLOGISE FOR THE MISTAKE. they were stone cold with us while processing the refund which was incredibly rude. We understand that mistakes can and do occasionally happen but we are both disgusted with this customer service and lack of empathy with such a serious incident.

No cider on draught, frozen beer line, dirty tables ,service is slow. Not what it use to be, after spending a lot of money in this particular pub on a regular basis.

My wife and I visited the Gate Clock after a pleasant walk around Greenwich Park. This was my second visit to this Wetherspoons pub, having previously had a mixed experience on a solo visit in 2017. It was a busy evening (sunny warm day) and we struggled to find a table, eventually finding one upstairs. We ordered on the App but had some challenges as my wife's preferred meal (fish) was unavailable. There were a few new menu items I hadn't tried so went with the Shawarma chicken wrap, which was tasty and quite spicy. Service was odd, in that on two separate occasions we were brought items that weren't for us...they were for the table next door but as each table is numbered I am not really sure why they kept getting it wrong. The choice of real ales was limited to just two, which was a disappointment. The food we had was nice and reasonably priced, but shame my wife's preferred meal was unavailable. Overall this wasn't deserving any higher than three stars...okay but nothing special.

The Gate Clock is a Whetherspoon establishment and has some good deals! It's a very casual place which is ideal for food and drink. The food is okay and they do have a wide range of dishes to choose from! I wouldn't recommend going here for a fancy dinner as it is very basic. However, it is great for a group of friends that just want a quick, cheap bite to eat as you order at the bar (or via the app) so people can pay separately. It's great for cheap drinks in the evening and does get very busy. It is hard to find a table on Friday and Saturday nights after about 20:00. They also do breakfast, lunch and dinner deals and lots include a drink within the price. I would recommend for a cheap meal with friends or a place to drink before going out clubbing. The service is very basic and the bar can get extremely busy, there is an upstairs however which is open most of the time as well.

Popular ‘Spoons pub in Greenwich, great value meals and deals. Super service from Alex, happy to swap breakfast items. The £1.30 bottomless coffee a big attraction. Mixed bag of customers, one tucking into a curry at 9.15am!

I've visited this branch on numerous occasions at lunchtime.Being where it is can get remarkably busy. Tried and tested mass marketed food as you would expect from 'Spoons'. Service efficient and staff polite. Upstairs seating (lift on LHS) but it's dark and gloomy up there. 'Fish Fridays' are nothing special (fish unknown).

Nice place. Reasonable food and decent price. Nice place to go around Greenwich and more cost effective than some other places around there!
