It was quiet in the cafe, cold out but with a whiff of spring so glad to get in the warm for a lovely full English breakfast. Just the right amount and cooked to perfection. I expected much more for £9.Half way through my breakfast (the food was average) I heard what seemed the mum and daughter owners arguing over what prices the food should be. We were met by a charming young lady who took our order. We both were starving and looked forward to a hearty fry up...HOWEVER...The alarm bells should have been ringing once I saw the portion sizes being given to nearby diners. Although I did wonder if the diners opted for a kids sized portion. 5 minutes later our drinks arrived - my cappuccino was sub-standard - probably something from a sachet mixed with luke warm water. 10 minutes later our food arrived. At first sight I was disappointed. Our vegetarian sausages looked anaemic - eggs looks overcooked and the baked beans were of cheao quality and barely one level tablespoon worth, tomatoes were raw with a singe of brown on the edges - I guess these were supposedly grilled for all of 5 seconds, and the so called fried mushrooms looked just so so. The best part of the breakfast was the granary toast. The rest tasted of absolutely nothing - nothing tasted of anything. I hardly touched the breakfast - nor did my partner. I discovered the anaemic sausages were pale because they had not been cooked properly - I cut the sausage in half and felt the inside and it was just luke warm. That was the final straw - I quietly spoke to the manager to complain about my food - she did offer to make a new breakfast but frankly it wouldn't have been worth the wait - I simply wanted to get the heck out of there! My wonderful partner wanted to pay for the overpriced food that we hardly touched - our fry up each cost a shocking £9 for a mini kids fry up.. but I wasn't comfortable for him to pay for the most hideous breakfast I have ever had. The manager said we would not have to pay - and we just paid for the drinks and quickly left. The sad thing is this place has the potential to be something. They should take pride in what they serve. If you just walk 5 minutes down the road opposite the picture house cinema you'll come to breakfast heaven - whose prices are the same as Peter de wits café - but they are worlds apart when it comes to portion size, taste and quality. Sadly this café needs some work - they should invest in buying quality items to serve, and get a decent chef in.Enough said - don't waste your money here - Peter de worse café needs some help.

Service was great and it tasted good but it's not value for money that's for sure. Menu boasts of 2 eggs, 3 rashers of bacon, 2 sausages, beans and toast for £9. Drinks are on top. Well the small plate fit perfectly on the small table as did the small portions fit perfectly onto the small plate with room to spare. The sausages were very thin like chipolatas and we only got 2 rashers of bacon with hardly any beans. The toast was a decent size. I really did expect more for my £9. As locals, this is our favourite cafe in the West Greenwich area. It's a really sweet little place with a strong community vibe. The proprietor is a long time resident and she hires local teenagers as additional staff on busy days. You often see the same faces in there, which is so unusual for a place in London. I am a Marmite lover so a bit biased. I like visiting Peter de Wit's for the atmosphere in the bustling centre of Greenwich. When possible, used to attend the Jazz evenings (unfortuneately they are not doing these at the moment). The service is always great with a variety of different interesting, often young and vibrant, people. It can get busy and as it is situated in one of the smallest, oldest properties in Greenich, can be a little cramped; but I think this all adds to the atmosphere. The food is always freshly prepared and from local suppliers. Prices are not cheap but compare favourably with the takeaway artisan ethnic foods available in Greenwich Market. If you have a specific dietry requirement they will endeavour to meet it if they can. The decor on my last visit was plain and functional but on previous occasions have seen interesting artwork exhibited. All in all a very pleasant experience with satisfying, quality wholesome, cafe style food and drinks. By the way Marmite is avaialble as a side order on their menu!

There is only one good thing I can say about this cafe: the service was friendly. Apart from that, the decor is grubby and tasteless, service was very slow, we were the only customers in when we arrived but half the tables weren't cleared and most were still not cleared when we left 25 minutes later. Prices for afternoon tea are above the odds but quality is not - scones with butter and tea/coffee were 10 pounds but the scones were crumbly and therefore hard to butter. They do not make cappuccino. The woman serving was wearing a dirty black apron - white streaks all over it suggest she might have been out the back working with flour. This place really needs to take at itself. Why did we stay? Because it was late in the afternoon and we had walked past a number of places which were full.

There's nothing wrong with simple food but waiting over 40 minutes for soup and a sausage sandwich is just laughable. Nearly every customer in the place waited an equivalent time while I was there. Typically, nobody complained, just fumed quietly. My 11 year old niece could get more meals out in that time. Sorry - me thinks you might be resting on laurels and just taking the tourist dollar.

Slow to start with two little old ladies running the cafe....life here is not in a hurry however the scones are delicious and tea warming to the soul... If you have the time a lovely spot to rest weary feet.

I discovered this little gem many years ago and each time I return to London, I make the pilgrimage to Peter de Wit's for an egg mayonnaise (egg salad sandwich) and a wonderful cup of tea. The food is not haute cuisine, just lovely, comfortable English fare with good tea and a wonderful view of the Greenwich bustle. I highly recommend this tea shop after visiting the Observatory or one of the museums.

I went to this cafe with my family for breakfast and although I expect to pay higher prices in a tourist area, this place was a complete rip off!We ordered our breakfast and our drinks came pretty quickly but we ended up waiting for over an hour for breakfast - the really annoying thing was that 4 other people who came in after us ordered their food, ate it and left whilst we were still waiting for ours!We were quite disgusted with the wait (particularly as we had to go and put more money in the parking meter) and asked to speak to the manager but was told she was too busy. The breakfast was £9 each so the total for my family with a drink each was £50 - very steep for a very sub-standard breakfast.my advice - find somewhere else to eat, there's plenty of places in Greenwich that aren't there purely to rip off tourists

if you search something "homemade" this is the right place for you. Sure it's not elegant. But for a trip to Greenwich, if you don't want an international resturant, this is a good place. Food is not refined, but absolutely genuine. kitchen is similar to country house. but i prefer this to have good cooking.we tried english breakfast and homemade cakes: cioccolate good, carrot cake excellent.it isn't a fast-food, so we don't wait a fast service, but relax in the little terrace behind the kitchen. you are on holyday!

This is a very small cafe decorated with handmade toys where they serve you home-made food and a serious Afternoon Tea with proper scones accompanied with jam and clotted jam. Prices reflect what you are getting and I can assure you the Ritz and Savoy do not serve scones to this level of yumminess nor do they have a warm homely environment in which to serve you. I visit whenever I can.

All we can say about this establishment is POOR - could do better. Firstly the coffee - (if you could call it that !), could best described as water with a hint of coffee flavouring. Secondly the SLOW service, we ordered some toast which we were still waiting for AFTER we had drunk our "coffee" - maybe they had forgoten the recipe ! We paid, cancelled the toast and left. We liked the lovely old kitchen chairs painted differant colours though.

Really bad - my date had an issue with the shisha and management were so rude! Pretty aggressive tbh. Music was so loud, food was served cold. Honestly so bad!

Pub looks really appealing from outside and has a nice feel inside. Food and service sadly weren’t very good. Staff could have been happier. We both had a chicken burger. Fries were good. Burger was disgusting and disappointing. The chicken was really greasy, fatty and as though cheap cuts had been used, stuck together and cooked in old oil. I felt a little sick after and couldn’t eat it all. Gratuity is included in the bill.

I recently visited Wetherspoons Cutty Sark and placed an online order (Order #397216) to my table. However, the staff member at the till—a lady with glasses—insisted that I carry the items to my table myself. Despite explaining that the order included seven glasses and was too heavy, she still made me carry half of it. This behavior was not only unprofessional but also felt discriminatory, as I strongly believe she treated me this way because I am not British. Such treatment is unacceptable and goes against the customer service standards one expects. Extremely disappointed with this experience.

Great setting, outstanding food, exceptional and friendly service. Sausage and mash 10/10- sausages cooked to perfection, cheese mash- tastiest I’ve ever had, definitely coming back and highly recommend.

A Greene King pub overlooking the river. It is quite large with some great views. They had three cask ales and one cider, I opted for an IPA at £6.10. Unlike IPA's from other breweries the Greene King one is not overpowered by hops. It was not busy at 2.15pm on a Friday. They do offer a food menu (I was here mid November and they had just introduced their Christmas menu. Lookout for their special "double up" offer on spirits e.g. single Jameson whisky at £6.40, a double at £9.40. In summary, another nice Greenwich pub.
