I really like the idea of this, nice drinks and cakes while painting away. It is on the expensive side though, and a bit packed.

Great place, good coffee and cakes! My friend and I have spent many hours here happily painting our masterpieces. It's a real shame that they are closing down due to increased rent. Good old Greenwich

I had a brilliant time here. We came for my birthday, and felt like big kids. Really good fun. The varnish is a bit thick on the finished product, but for the price can't complain. Good food, drinks, staff and fun :)

i visited to make a Father's Day gift for my partner, with my six month old baby. The tables were quite cramped in there so not ideal with a pram. Main reason for the review is to let other parents know that the staff don't offer assistance or provide help, and as I was on my own with my young daughter I had to abandon the idea of taking her hand or foot print :( I asked the staff about their service and was told it was 'self-led'.. I paid £20 for a mug to paint and a coffee so was fairly expensive for self-led service. There is another ceramic painting place in dulwich, I've heard far better service and experience.

We were in Greenwich and wanted to find somewhere to have a quick coffee and tea.Found this place and weren't disappointed. Both drinks were very nice and we were dealt with in a very efficient, polite and professional way.We didn't notice before going in that it was a ceramic café but enjoyed watching the kids create their choices. It wasn't very busy, so was nice to have the time to chill. When back in Greenwich, we will definitely return to here for our drink requirements from now on.

We really enjoyed the painting and had a good time, but to be honest, service was quite bad, tables were dirty. The place is also very cramped. Also the pottery is very expensive.

living locally it is a wonderful venue to have on your doorstep! Its very relaxed but great fun and a lovely thing to do with my daughters friends in the school holidays, I would agree with others that it is pretty pricey so has to be a real treat if the whole family is to paint!

we visit biscuit cafe regularly, to the point where we seem to be creating our own dinner service. It's friendly, the food is very nice, good cake selection, and a relaxed atmosphere. It does get busy at weekends, during the week it is less packed. Good place for parties or just to hang out, paint, eat and chat. Greenwich is a great place to visit anyway so you can combine the two,

I went there for a friend's birthday afternoon and it was certainly a fun and different experience. We were there for two hours painting our pottery, however the cheapest thing to paint was £14 up to £27 so quite pricey! I enjoyed it but probably something I wouldn't head to again for a while.

I have recently moved to the area and I was very keen to try this quirky cafe. However, the terrible customer service has ensured that my first visit earlier today will also be my last. Myself and another customer where waiting for 10 minutes whilst three members of staff pottered around behind the counter wiping surfaces. I would expect serving customers to be the priority in any such establishment. When they did finally get around to serving us, the girl at the till was quite rude. No hello or thank you, none of the friendliness I have become accustomed to in this area. I got the distinct impression she would rather be somewhere else, which I can understand on such a hot day but there's no need to be treating the customer with such disdain!

I was there last year and I came back today, we really enjoyed. The cafe can get extremely busy, that's why could be kids and baby. the negative point is the cost, the ceramic items are pretty expensive. I spent for a little dino £ 14The ceramic piece needs to be fired the oven after painting to seal the paint; after 1 week you can collect back.

cool hippie cafe with nice cakes and also the opportunity to paint your own ceramic item - rocket, mug whatever - you paint and then they glaze it and go back and pick it up in a week - fun

Bocciato!

We took some friends children, and kinda expected it to be a bit lame. In reality we spent several hours there, great fun painting crockery and enjoying great coffee and homemade cake. They also allow BYO for a small corkage. Next time well make it an adult affair!

Popped in here for a snack, 3 of us plus my 20 month old. Great idea for a cafe, but the cafe was cramped and mostly full of familes getting stuck into their ceramics, and it looked like they had been there for hours, taking up seating space, no where for your buggy eitherThe place was a mess, tables were not cleaned and the food expensive. A chocolate brownie, almond croissant, 2 hot drinks and a bottle of water - cost me over £10. The menu looked pretty extensive but they stopped serving at 4pm, but to be honest it was not a pleasant experience. My 20 month old wanted to run about but because lots of people painting their ceramics I had to ensure he didn't bump into them so I had to keep a tight reign on him..not much fun for me. He would probably enjoy it if he was a bit older. No, wouldn't go there again.

What a great idea for a cafe, just a shame about the poor (or lack of) service and over priced items to paint. Misleadingly the place always appears busy but this is mainly due to a poor table layout and hecticness created by inefficient staff. Probably best avoided unless your desparate for something to entertain the children-but even then you'll be the one helping them with their art as there doesn't appear to be much help in that area either.

I went with my family and relative to have lunch and do some painting of pottery with the children. Someone had suggested that we try this. When we arrived there was no instructions on how things operated in the cafe. It might be obvious to some but not us. We did find a seat and ordered some lunch and then selected a couple of santa baubles to decorate for Christmas 2012. Lunch was pleasant but i had to work out where to get the paints and what to do. The baubles were not cheap and as we were not local we had to pay about £10 to have them sent after they were fired.A couple of weeks later we did receive the baubles in the post but no metal attachment to hang the ornaments. I called the cafe who said that we should have been given them when we handed them in for firing (but the women didn't give them to us) so we were promised that some would be sent to us. They haven't been sent and so the baubles have been unusable this Christmas (they have a large hole in the top and are round so cannot simply be placed.) Very disappointed. This was not a cheap activity so expected much more.

Although it sounded as if the last reviewer had a bad experience at this cafe, I have been there various times and it is NOT a table service cafe. Therefore, customers are expected to go up and order their food, this is obvious from the layout of the cafe and from the way other customers behave. I think the previous reviewer may have to double check what time of establishment they are in next time they stop for a coffee.

Dateline - Greenwich, London Wednesday 26th September approximately 1:30pm On a recent visit of five days to London, this is honestly the only negative experience we had. And it takes a lot for me to give a bad review. After a tourist cruise down the Thames, which was great, we arrived at Greenwich pier.We then had a walk up the road past the Cutty Sark and on to Greenwich market, after emerging from the market we spotted this cafe and decided to go for a coffee and maybe a cake before heading over to Tower Bridge to see the exhibition. On entering the premises we sat down at a table and waited.....then waited a bit longer, killing time meanwhile by studying AA London atlas.During this time (approximately 7 to 10 minutes) the two members of staff visible, never acknowledged our presence at all. They seemed to be concerned only with preparing coffee and sandwiches for the only other customers in the cafe. Vis a vis a table of four middle or upper class persons. Therefore, having received neither a "hello", "be with you in a minute" or indeed any form of communication from the cafe staff, we left in disgust and disbelief. It was a if we had been clothed in a "Harry Potter" style cloak of invisibility just before we entered the cafe!Luckily near the DLR station we were heading for (thanks to the kind man who gave us directions!), was a McDonalds outlet. Where I received a more than passable double espresso and cheeseburger.May I suggest that the afore mentioned members of staff from the cafe visit the said branch of McDonalds and learn a bit about service and customer care.In these times of economic austerity how can any business afford to behave towards customers in this manner.

I recently visited Wetherspoons Cutty Sark and placed an online order (Order #397216) to my table. However, the staff member at the till—a lady with glasses—insisted that I carry the items to my table myself. Despite explaining that the order included seven glasses and was too heavy, she still made me carry half of it. This behavior was not only unprofessional but also felt discriminatory, as I strongly believe she treated me this way because I am not British. Such treatment is unacceptable and goes against the customer service standards one expects. Extremely disappointed with this experience.
