They opened 40 minutes late, came on a Short bday specifically for the roast but wasn’t available, we were first to order and we were splitting so ordered separately. Two of us got our food and finished it in the 45 minutes it took for our friends to get served. Truly pathetic. The staff rolling their eyes as we went to complain. AVOID!!!

This pub is beautiful inside and has a lovely spacious beer garden. The food, however, was hugely disappointing. My "burrata salad with rocket, heritage tomatoes, basil oil, pickled pink onions" was a burrata plonked on an undressed plate of chopped Little Gem lettuce and some random chopped tomatoes. My friends who were visiting from Australia also received meals that were not as described. The fish and chips, chosen as the quintessential English dish, was overfried and dry. I felt embarassed to have brough them here. Please up your game. You are in tourist central, try and make us proud.

I cannot believe what happened today at this pub. My husband ordered me a Chardonnay at the bar, the foreign pony tailed youth told my husband they had none, he said what do you have the youth turned around and gave him a glass of red. I went up to the youth and said I don’t drink red. He argued with me that my husband had ordered Cabernet Sauvignon, I said why would he, I do t drink red. He argued and argued. He gave a bottle of Chardonnay to his co worker to pour me a glass of white. I watched the youth who subsequently poured the red I had left from the glass back into the bottle. I had sipped this wine to see if I could drink it. Surely their are laws about this?

Upscale pub with lots of room. Very comfortable place to relax on a cold winter day. Great drink selection and good menu. Try the Raspberry Dream.

This is a lovely traditional old pub, with a lovely atmosphere. Just one problem - the barman! We were a group of 8 and ordered separately and all of us noticed that one of the barmen was off hand and frankly rude! My husband ordered a Prosecco for me - it arrived flat. When I went back to the bar, the younger barman was apologetic and offered to get me a fresh glass when grumpy barman said - with his back to me - it’s not Prosecco, it’s a sparkling wine that doesn’t have bubbles! So rude!! This man needs to reconsider his profession as he’s definitely not good at customer service!!

Ci siamo fermati a a pranzo dopo una mattina al mercato di Portobello Road, il pub è molto carino, la pulizia effettivamente non è il massimo, ma purtroppo è uno standard dei pub londinesi. Cibo buono, scelta delle birre ristretta.

Slow service and the beers are now an astronomical price. Used to be a quaint local in the centre for the community but now is over priced and under staffed

Great location and very friendly staff! Great selection of Samuel Smith beers - full of real authentic features imaging small size doors that the children used to use to collect the beer money! Definitely recommend!

Walk-in no resvtn mid-week lunch in mid-June, few pax there. Possibly no other diners in huge pub. Few people. Good range of Smith’s beer. Ribs – Rather solid, not juicy or tender as hoped for.Scampi – seemed a better proposition.Service friendly/helpfulGarden/Yard outside a bonus feature but in the shade it was cool and blustery. The few tables outside facing Portobello Road were getting direct sunshine at lunchtime.The walled garden terrace is an amazing space and I’d previously been out there when it’s been heaving with people. This is a very spacious pub and it was sad to see it quite so quiet. £35 for two with a couple of beers.

It’s the last time I’m going to this pub. I tried to book a table and the guy in the door was very rude telling me which table I should sit on. I asked to him for another table and he responded aggressively and with really bad manners. The should change the owners. Terrible pub. Never coming back again.

Awful, the worst place I've ever been. After 30 minutes ignoring us I nicely asked to have the table cleaned as it was covered by ash from the ashtray. I asked twice and the disrespectul lady poured all the ash over me.

Decent pub in Notting Hill area. Outdoor seating so open during easing of lockdown. Efficient and friendly enough.

Staff were lovely, drink prices not bad for location. However, the place was full of non mask wearing drunk students. They still served them, even the ones who were eye-rolling drunk. One fell back of her chair, lots of students drunk and walking around taking selfies etc. Limited covid control, no one was asked to wear a mask whilst walking around, groups were mixing. We had ordered 2 light bites as we were a bit peckish -chilli halloumi with dressed salad and honey glazed chorizo. They turned up on one side plate, 3 strips of halloumi, some undressed leaves and a tiny pot of 6...yes 6, thin slices of chorizo. For £9.50, this was less light bite and more "tiny snack". Not our thing really.

Él estaba apurando nuestro pedido sin ningún tipo de modales. ¡No estoy seguro de cómo se emplea cuando trata a los clientes habituales de esta manera! ¡El personal también se veía muy deprimido! Es muy triste decirlo, pero nuestro pub favorito ha perdido nuestro negocio mientras esté en la dirección.

I came to pub last sunday, there was friendly welcome and happy smiley staff. well social distancing in the garden and great beers. definitely come back again.

Este solía ser un gran pub para mí y mis amigos que vendrían, tomar una copa relajada con buenas cervezas y un servicio encantador. Llegamos el jueves pasado, no hubo ningún distanciamiento social. La gente estaba sentada donde quisiera. Tampoco parecía ser un máximo en la cantidad de personas por mesa. No nos sentimos seguros, así que decidimos irnos.

I've been going this pub for years its down hill the new manger was very rude I think he's Italian and the prices have gone up i will not be coming back to this pub its very sad as its my local pub

¿Por qué la gente se emociona tanto con la comida que obtienen en un pub? ¡Es un Pub! Vas allí para conocer gente, hablar, beber y pasar un buen rato. Quizás pruebe con un restaurante. Este es un boozer decente en una ubicación de clase mundial. Bueno, el personal puede parecer un poco malhumorado, pero hable con el gerente si tiene algún problema.

Food took over an hour to come and was cold when it came. Quality was also very poor. Staff seemed quite unhappy.

Sitio bonito y agradable, agradecemos que una chica llamado Lennis que nos hizo que nuestra estancia fuera mas agrdable, ya que aparte de hablar Español es super simpática.Las chicas de la barra no espero que hablen español pero se agradece la misma empatia y ganas que tenemos nosotros por entendernos.

El peor trato jamás recibido en ningún otro lugar. Decidimos parar a tomar unas cervezas mientras dábamos un paseo por Notting Hill. Tanto el trato recibido nosotros y cada una de las personas que entraban por la puerta del local,me pareció que era el metre o jefe del local ( un señor calvo) fue totalmente desagradable y grosero. Nos regañó incluso por hablar entre nosotros. Nos consoló que se dirigía a todo el que entraba con los mismos modales. Salimos de allí bastante cabreados.

We had just arrived in London and were pretty starved, however the microwaved chicken and leek pie was dry, bland and completely sauceless (due to the heating method). thank god it came with decent chips and veggie. My friend had a burger that was pretty tasty. So I made a wrong choice. However, I expecte more, even from a 'pub'.

Ci siamo fermate in questo pub un po’ per caso, stremate dalla fame e dai locali tutti pieni! Qui abbiamo trovato l’unico tavolo libero di tutto il quartiere! E non poteva andarci meglio!Le pie sono sublimi, ma anche il fish and chips non scherza!Atmosfera molto famigliare, con tanto di caminetto acceso.Buoni prezzi!

A pesar de estar en pleno sábado de mercadillo, nos atendieron muy bien y la comida muy rica, tanto los Fish and chips que estaban muy bien fritos, crujientes y nada de grasa, como un pastel de carne. Cerveza que hacen ellos muy interesante y de postre no os perdáis el pastel con chocolate...impresionante. De precio unos 20 euros por persona...Genial!!

Very nice place to come in out of the rain. Hostess was very polite . My wife and I both had a Cheese melt a very tasty sandwich as well as a Taddy Lager both were very good .

This is a Samuel Smith pub so no recognisable beer as they make there own everything including soft drinks and mixers and all spirits. Always well kept Real Ale (Brewery Bitter) and two pints for 7 quid in London Notting Hill is great. Food can be a bit hit and miss though. Great beer garden. Most of the time the reason why the service is slow is because insist on buying Coffee in a pub....i mean who goes into a pub and orders coffee...really!.. Thats the reason why it takes so long to get served sometimes as the staff are making someone's coffee....Samual Smiths have 18 pubs across London and there all good cheap places to drink check out there website...

Popped in for a business lunch and would certainly go there again. Food was very good and served promptly. Fish and chips were splendid.

We did a walking tour of nottinghill and got told about the history of this pub and it’s ability to have horses ridden into the pub - featuring miniature doorways to keep the horses separate - we couldn’t resist going back for a drink and some lunch

Paré aquí para lo que esperábamos sería un almuerzo rápido con algunos amigos que nos visitan desde el extranjero. Pub estaba muy ocupado, larga cola para pedir comida y bebidas y aún más de 50 minutos de espera para la comida (y todo lo que teníamos eran ensaladas). Ensalada de pollo fue decepcionante y caro para un plato lleno de lechuga con 3 pequeños me refiero a pequeños trozos de pollo.

Ho provato qui il tipico fish and chips, non male. L’ordine bisogna farlo al banco. L’unico punto negativo è l’accoglienza: il cliente a stento viene considerato quando entra nel locale.

No volveré a este pub.

Passée la surprise de la commande passée et payée directement au comptoir en annonçant son numéro de table, nous avons passé un agréable moment sur la terrasse ouverte et ombragée à l'arrière du restaurant. On amène soi même les boissons et les couverts à sa place; les plats sont servis par le personnel. Les portions sont larges et bonnes. Une cuisine simple, abordable, roborative, sans chichi. Une bonne pause dans le quartier de Nottinghill, après avoir passé du temps au marché de Portobello, tranquille.

Uno de los servicios más horribles que he tenido. El bar es bonito pero me enojé mucho. Por encima de todo, me cobran casi 5 libras por coque grande (pintura de coque, el lado medio es la mitad de la pintura). La comida estaba sobrecocida pero cambiaron cuando pedimos una nueva.

Came to rest my feet and had a beer on our way to Portabellow Market in mid morning. Good beer and liked old bar architecture. Counter serivce and find own seating in the bar area. I would not have breakfast here.

Attirés par un cadre et une carte typiques , nous voulions faire une pause sympa et gourmande et assez rapide au cours de notre visite dans le quartier de Notting Hill. Nous etions bien installés dans un petit coin de ce pub .Nous passons commande de 5 plats et des boissons , on nous demande de régler la totalité de la commande .On nous sert les boissons et là , commence une interminable attente d'une heure et demie .Aucune attention des différents serveurs qui passent à coté de nous sans nous regarder .Nous avons faim et ce temps inutile nous empèche de profiter des visites. Enfin , on nous amène les plats ( pie , fisch and chips ) sans grande saveur et sans excuses !!!!! Nous aurions dû lire les mauvais avis de 2018 car pour nous pas d'amelioration en 2019. A moins que ce traitement ne soit réservé qu'aux touristes .

Visited this pub with some friends after having dinner in the local area and would definitely go back again. Served by Nicholas at the bar who was very friendly and quick, providing thus great customer service.

There isn’t one pub I have ever tried that has a friendly atmosphere.... and this was no better. Staff are rude, hate that you have to wait half an hour while they change their menus from breakfast to lunch.... (they should consider making sandwiches to appease the people all begging for a bite). We ordered a chicken dish that was so horrible that it was left uneaten. Makes me relive awful memories of poor pub food. But.... these reviews don’t make much difference because this Pub is located in the best place in Portobello Road and attracts thousands of tourists.... the owner is a happy man. No more pubs for me....

Das Pub an sich ist sehr schön, jedoch habe ich dort den schlechtesten Service aller Zeiten erlebt!

Nous avions été un peu refroidis par les avis de l’été dernier (nous sommes en février) mais les quelques avis récents étaient bons. Et effectivement nous n’avons pas été déçus. Le cadre est très british. Il faut commander au bar la nourriture (il suffit de le savoir). Pas mal de monde ce dimanche midi ensoleillé et pourtant nous avons été servis très vite. La bière pression (Samuel Smith’s) bio est excellente. Le fish and chips vraiment bon. La tarte à la viande maison est correcte sans être inoubliable. Bref un bon endroit pour un déjeuner ou boire une bière.

El personal era muy grosero y poco profesional. El camarero amenazó con quitarme mi identificación porque era una identificación de Texas y él pensó que parecía falsa. Ni siquiera mirarían una segunda forma de identificación cuando la ofreciera. Cuando finalmente me devolvió mi identificación, actuó como si me estuviera haciendo un favor. Entiendo que no quiero servir a alguien porque no está seguro de si su identificación es real, pero manejaron la situación de manera deficiente y el camarero fue condescendiente. Pensé que América era estricta en las identificaciones. . . Pero este lugar era increíble. Ir literalmente a cualquier otro lugar.

Locale molto bello tipico , birra buona ,ma quando sono andato a pagare mi ha dato il resto sbagliato ( è può capitare) allpra sono andato una seconda volta e ha provato a darmi 3 monetine dicendomi che erano 6,2 sterline di resto, quando ha capito che avevo capito si è scusato e mi ha dato il resto giusto. 2 su 2 non è una svista!

Nulla di che, un pub comune in una comune stradina di portobello. La birra che si beve é ottima e si mangia un ottimo fish and chips e un buon hamburger di pollo. Prezzo molto abbordabile. 11. 95 per il fisch, 9.85 per l'hamburger e 3,70 a pinta. Tutto in pounds ovviamente

Pub tipicamente inglese davvero accogliente. Ottimo hamburger di quinoa perché fatto da loro(molti prodotti sono fatti da loro) e hamburger di carne. Vasta scelta di birre ottime! Servizio veloce e Prezzi nella norma. Consigliato soprattutto per il caminetto acceso nel centro della sala ;)

Como muchos pubs, tienes que pedir tu comida y bebida en el bar. Este pub tiene una gran área de asientos con muchas mesas, ideal para almorzar. Era una casa llena pero uno esperaría que debían poder lidiar con eso considerando el tamaño del pub. Después de esperar más de media hora llegó nuestra comida, dos hamburguesas y dos tazones de sopa. Las hamburguesas y las patatas fritas estaban frías, la sopa tibia. Parecía que había estado parado en algún lugar por al menos 15 minutos antes de ser servido. Muy decepcionante.

Si vous cherchez un pub typiquement anglais c'est le bon endroit. Nourriture de bonne facture et pas trop cher. Service un peu long si il y a du monde. Les bières sont bonnes. Bon arrêt dans Notting Hill.

Very average pub meal in a touristy area. Livers were very over cooked and fish and chips were ordinary. Great draft beer though.

Empty pub takes 10 minutes to get served while staff chat away staring at you waiting don't bother save your money.

Concept original où il faut aller commander au bar, récupérer ses couverts et boissons mais au moins il n’y a pas de taxe de service. Entrée originale car il faut passer sous 2 mini portes ! Plats à prix corrects et bons. Le cadre est sympa.

I'm not a big fan of Sam Smith's beers, although I do like their stout and their prices are generally more reasonable than most of the competition, especially on Portobello. This pub is a splendid example of Smith's splendid and sympathetic restoration in the Victorian style (most of the Sam Smiths pubs are tasteful restorations, in fact).

même pour un verre dans l'après-midi, aller se prendre sa boisson au bar et se fondre dans l'atmosphère d'une des salles fut synonyme de "relax". Un plaisir simple! même sans wifi...;-)

Came here after a day of perusing the Portobello Market. Drinks came with no ice as the ice machine was broken (fair enough, these things happen). Ordered lunch which was bangers and mash and a chicken burger. Was not told there was going to be a wait of more than an hour, waited an hour and ten for food. A section of the bar to order drinks was closed off but no signage to indicate this, so whenever a customer went to order a drink in this section the old man who works there just stared at them and walk off without acknowledging customers or telling them where they can order drinks. Asked and paid for extra sauce with my meal, didnt come. Had to get in line and wait behind a line of other people complaining about not having received their meals before I could get my sauce. Understaffed, staff there were stressed, plenty of other pubs in the area, avoid.

Das Pub ist im Essbereich ganz nett und auch draußen im Hof mag man schön sitzen. Die Portionen und die Qualität des Essens sind allerdings eine Frechheit. Shrimps paniert und eine Miniportion Nudeln (ja, stand auf der Karte, war dann aber noch kleiner....). Also für ein Bier OK, nicht jedoch zum Abendessen wählen. Hier hat London und die Gegend eine Menge mehr zu bieten.

The plates served didn't correspond to the description on the menu (peas instead of crushed peas for instance). We've waited half an hour for a plate of chips. Therefore we were so disappointed of this pub.

Batender is rude. I will never visit again. When I order a chip he said "you have to tell me your table number otherwise I can not get your order."

Par un jour de marché à Portobello Road (attrape touristes) très chaud, nous sommes entrés dans ce pub qui est très joli de l'extérieur.

Le cadre est très beau, la terrasse en patio très agréable, et les prix sont corrects.

Pensé que sería tener una tarde de relax tomando una bebida en el jardín, pero la experiencia de todo mal cuando me tomaron el pedido incorrectamente y se negó a darme el extra que pague o en realidad lo que pedimos. Yo no recomendaría este lugar a cualquiera, especialmente porque el servicio realmente mal ofrecidos por los camareros y el barman. Muy muy decepcionante.

Ojalá hubiese leído los comentarios antes de entramos en este pub. No podía imaginar a alguien peor que sirve pescado y patatas fritas. El pescado es muy sospechoso - un detalle revelador que no es fresco. Mezquino, porción de patatas fritas. Los guisantes son más gris que verde en color.

Abbiamo ordinato alla cassa e ci hanno dato le posate in mano senza tovagliolo e le bottiglie di acqua senza bicchieri; il personale era poco e il servizio al tavolo inesistente. I tavoli e i bagni erano molto sporchi. A parte la struttura, il posto è da evitare assolutamente

Mycket fin och genuin pub med mysig bakgård längs Portobello Road inbjuder till både en kall öl och en matbit. Drick ölen men strunta i maten! Som många skrivit tidigare är maten ingen höjdare. Beställde Chicken & Bacon sallad och blev så besviken! Minsta sallad jag någonsin fått! Mindre än de man köper på McDonalds och de är små. Efter lite diskussion med ett par servitriser fick vi in en skål med extra sallad. Det ökade upp omdömet till en tvåa.

Nos fuimos al pub después de 90 minutos y no había comida. Cuando llegamos estaba lleno, pero encontramos una mesa y entendió enseguida que tenemos que pedir en el bar y nos sirve. El menú era un menú normal y pub buena pinta.

Visitando este charmoso bairro fizemos uma paradinha neste pub., Local rústico e com umas passagens baixas( vc se agacha para passar) . Petiscos normais. Boas cervejas , incluindo algumas da samuel smith. Local não tão aconchegante. Bom para uma parad rápida. destoa do cherme do bairro.

Estuvimos en el mercado de fuera y no ver el pub en primera como se hace escondido detrás de muchos puestos. Nos encantan los antiguos pubs de Londres, así que fuimos a tomar una copa necesitaba y almuerzo. Es tan estupendo como dentro hay muchas zonas de poco ritual y la mayoría de las veces tienes que curva bastante bajo para entrar de uno a otro.

A typical tourist place in the middel of Portobello Road, but a charming place, and a nice outside area in the back for a sunny afternoon

The pub doesn't have enough staff to attend the quantity of people (it's a turistic area). Also, the staff are rude and the food has no taste or flavour... drinks and glasses running out during the lunch time.
