Daylesford Organic in Kensington and Chelsea

Today I kindly asked to leave my suitcase as I wanted to go shopping between floors without lugging it around and bumping into things. The lady at the till then asked me “Is there a BOMB inside?!” Honestly, how rude. I wish the staff members are actually properly trained in hospitality and service here.

Place was good but they need to learn some manners for example whoever is taking the takeaway food even if they are hungry or want seat they should allow them to seat because customers is the 1st priority as i know how you them give as much comfortable. Takeaway customers cannot even seat out table what is this behaviour. We paid for your food. Very bad outcome from them.

Really nice place, very friendly staff. Shop and 'restaurant' offer km0 products from their farm and in the basement they also have things for the home. We came here for breakfast with a nice bowl of yogurt, granola and fruit compote, everything was delicious

Poor service - particularly given their prices. Ordered a coffee at £4.50 to takeaway. No queue. No staff to take order. 10mins to make coffee. Seriously.

We had a wonderful lunch here. The broccoli soup was delicious and our salad was fresh and a large portion. The tea was outstanding and really liked the grocery shop and home store. The service was outstanding and well timed. Great place for lunch.

One of the most must go places ever, great atmosphere, lovely staff, stunning counter displays, brilliant organic meat don't miss the butcher counter) and dairies and lot more, just doesn't fit into words.

We had Breakfast last Saturday - toast, egg, avocado, called „Scrabbled egg whites“ on the menu. It tasted good, but we got food poisoning and were bedridden for two days. The hygienic conditions are not just concerning, but dangerous. This must not happen!!!!!

Nice surroundings. Most food was OK, but we had a bug in the salad. Nothing was done, and we had to pay for the dish. Did not expect that...

Were there for breakfast- had a worm in the lettuce and all we got was “oh sorry”.

An organic food shop with restaurant. Very well decorated in organic vibe. Food delicious. Service is also of high quality. We visited on a week day with less customers. Very relaxed.

Ordered two flat whites and two croissants (one almond). The flat whites were not flat whites, just milky coffee. The croissants were dry and bread like, no resemblance to a french croissant. We drank half the coffee and ate half the croissants. So very indifferent food and drink and then came the bill. £24! Croissants £6 & £7! More expensive than the Ritz! An experience not to be repeated again - shame because a nice place, but greedy pricing.

I got expelled because of my tiny dog and I would like to thank the pretentious waiter who in front of all clients -not that many the restaurant was empty-asked me if I had a certificate that justified I would sit and eat with my very well behave dog of 1,5kg. I therefore left and had a fantastic lunch in WILD next door. The food is far better they have a garden and they take care of small and well behaved dogs. Also let’s face it in Dayles the food was not great the last time I went there and the price was absolute extortion. So please on my behalf thank that waiter :0)

There was a girl with long dreadlocks served at the till this morning at 10.15am when I check out. She was rude and almost thrown my cheese in front of me after she put it in the system with no excuse me or reason. I said hello to her with no response and no words when I finished my payment. I also work in hospitality, I can tell this is one of the worst service I have ever seen. Really opened my eyes in this organic shop. Really disappointed 😕😕😕

The prices are stretching a bit too far. I paid £34 for a salad and an orange juice! I have never had such a tasteless and overpriced salad in London before! The salad had a lot of lettuce simply chopped, and literally one diced tomato, one thin slice of avocado, half diced egg, and 4 pieces of chopped ham/chicken! I would have expected at least the chicken to be fresh, but this was not the case. Have had better salad at Pret if I have to give you some hint! Please remove this dish from your menu or bring down the price at least by half!

Just a flying visit while in London for a few days, but what a treat. The staff were delightful and so welcoming and the coffee made by Ben was out of this world! Would definitely recommend.

Visited the Notting Hill branch in June 2024 - whilst the food was lovely, the service was so-so and the really disappointing part was the addition of the optional service charge without asking - when questioned the server said she could remove the service charge but then asked what more she could do for us to pay the charge. We didn’t want to make a fuss so we paid but we would normally not have paid a tip as the service was not great. When we gave feedback to the restaurant, the response was disappointing - an offer of giving back the service charge amount but only if we went back to the restaurant, despite being told we would be going back to Australia so wouldn’t have time. There are so many other nice restaurants in London - I would not go back to a Daylesford organic.

Today we wanted to have a picnic at kew gardens for our daughters 22 birthday - I spoke to Alejandro the manager yesterday and discussed the menu - we had two different food alerted we had to contend with - - they prepared on time a delicious feast well packed for our picnic with proper markings and separations for all the food - really a cute place too with a ton of things to buy for happy hour and desert - i love this place

Food was lovely but we were caught out by an optional service charge being added onto the bill without being informed first. The service was ok but not great and would not have merited a tip. When we complained we were told the service charge could be removed but then they asked what more could they do to keep the tip. We didn’t want to make a fuss so paid it but we did give feedback to the restaurant, more to alert their staff to the miscommunication. The reply was disappointing with an offer of the service charge back but only if we came back to the restaurant, despite being told we would be unable to return as we were going back to Australia. The attitude was basically that they didn’t care that they are charging a tip whether customers want to pay or not. Check your bill carefully! I wouldn’t go back again - there are so many other great restaurants in London.

The best organic restaurant in London. I have tried burger and salad and that was brilliant! Also it’s not only a restaurant but a grocery store on the ground floor. Really liked this place, highly recommended!

Don’t get me wrong I like Daylesford a lot and I am a supporter since their opening in Notting Hill. Daylesford stands for quality food and is more on the expensive side…. However, recently they broke a new record by serving their specials lunch for £22 with 5 small shrimps (not joking very small) and a tasteless green salad without sauce that seem to come straight out of a grocery bag….ah and a bottom of the plate a loveless thrown portion of mayonnaise. I am used to Daylesford prices but this one was stretching it a bit too far I thought. Hence my overall 2 stars. Service great as always and general vibe great as usual as well. I hope their menu team is rethinking their specials strategy a bit more in the future….

The place is wonderful! I entered because it caught my eye, and it was indeed worth the visit. It's a market for food, meats, coffee, and kitchenware. On the upper floor, there's a restaurant with a limited menu that looks delicious, although I didn't try it as I wasn't looking to eat. I got some olives from there, and they were very delicious. I recommend visiting, and I will be back to try the restaurant.

When you come to London, be sure to stop by here while taking a walk! One of my comforting places.

It's a beautiful store with a lot of things!

For a sunny day sitting outdoors it was great. However, the service wasn’t that great and why can’t you order food from the counter and have it to the table? Non sense Coffee was ok

The experience was so bizarre I thought I was on Candid Camera. 2 stars because the food was decent. Shocking manager with petrified staff who aren’t granted any autonomy. We ordered the crab linguine (delicious) and a chopped salad. When I asked for some Parmesan cheese and my friend for some olive oil and vinegar the waiter looked petrified… and returned with the oil and the manager who asked us to repeat what we needed. I was then told “it’s seafood pasta one doesn’t put Parmesan on seafood” (err thank you manager lady - I am 44 years old and can choose to breach Italian pasta convention if I wish). When I insisted she then said “I will have to charge you for the Parmesan cheese, at least £2 but let me check with Chef”…. And then told my friend she would also charge her for the drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar because her salad came with a blue cheese dressing…. I mean I know the economy is bad BUT we are talking about a £23 salad and a £25 pasta dish in a shop bistrot and they want to charge us for staple condiments … Outrageous …. Do better Daylesford

Very expensive for average tasting food and most importantly the smallest portion ever. So much better places than this one to eat healthy, organic food. Also the waiter forgot to mention some items were not available.

A tired and dirty interior - this place used to be lovely but now feels lazy / if you go in the morning there is dirt from the day before on the leather banquettes / when you order they don’t even ask how you want your eggs / massively inconsistent - feels like a dying brand - lost all its values and meaning - I even doubt where the raw ingredients are from now - massively disappointed after so many years coming. Refurb and evolve or die.

Fresh tastes. If you are plant based, this is the place for you, great options and friendly staff. Simply give it a go and you will be back for breakfast. This type of vegan goodness is hard to find.

My wife and I had a wonderful time here. Saikou went above and beyond on our arrival securing my pregnant wife and I chairs for a disused table out front. His service and patience were outstanding. The food was delicious also. My only disappointment came from the use of powdered hot chocolate. I would have preferred the option of a Real Belgium Hot Chocolate that I personally feel would have been more befitting of the establishment and its overall vibe hence the 4/5 for food. Nonetheless, would still highly recommend. 👌🏼🙏💙✨

Disappointingly miserable staff and tastless, expensive food. Daisy in particular was rude, stuck up and miserable. Ali on the other hand was polite and lovely.

Don’t waste your money on coffee and croissants. Croissant like stone, not fresh at all.

Breakfast was just perfect.. great quality produce and cooked to perfection. Only thing I don’t understand is why no butter provided with toast?

Really dissatisfied with my choice today for a healthy lunch ! I choose a chicken coronation wrap, but not trace of chicken among the ingredients, personally I choose this meal , thinking about having : vegetables, fruits, carbohydrates and a protein, but unfortunately no animal protein.

I used to buy their piccallili as a treat every year - what was once a clean, glossy, crunchy, five-star pickled delight is now a grainy, yellow, foul-tasting sludge. Seriously, it's as if they've taken the original piccallili recipe and decided to mix it with some sand. I thought i had a rogue jar so took it back but they're all the same! The clueless person responsible for this should be court-martialed - and Daylesford should be ashamed for letting this happen, although the staff frankly didn't seem to that bothered when i told them, and I was not offered a refund cos i had opened the jar.

Having ordered soup and toast for lunch I asked for some butter only to be told butter was an additional cost. I find the attitude of charging for butter outrageous and penny pinching. It sends out the wrong signals for such a high end venue, not an experience I’ll repeat.

Excellent food, slow service though

Had a lovely quiche and salad but for the price the salad portions were on the small side . My friend had the soup which was also delicious but would have been nice to have been a bit more generous with the bread !

Such a lovely shop. Had a wide range on home wear and groceries also. Staff will gladly put something on hold for you. Always pop by for something. Outside cafeteria is lovely on a summer day.

We chose this café/restaurant for a remote work morning. Initially, the service was very friendly, calm, and professional. There was no sense of rush in our setup. As for the menu, we were provided with an explanation of the available options and other useful information before placing our order. Throughout the meal, we were served by several different staff members, all providing excellent service without exception. When ordering lunch, the server offered an honest recommendation without pushing any sales tactics; this is rare and noteworthy. The server also noticed that we were speaking French and took the initiative to engage with us and serve us in French (impressively fluent French, at that), which made the service even more delightful. The pastries were delicious, tender, crispy, and fresh. The coffees were also of good quality. Even before finishing our lunch, we are already giving a 5/5 rating to Daylesford ORGANIC. The service we received today will definitely turn me into a regular customer here. Well done to the entire team! I highly recommend it.

Lovely place to stop for savoury quiche and salad. You can dine at the restaurant or take home food from the deli counter. Excellent grocery store with fruit, veg, butchers, award winning cheeses and pantry staples along with treats, coffee and more. In the basement is the homeware shop with plenty of tableware, glassware, toiletries, cleaning products and lots of lovely things.

Cold coffee, asking for flat white coffee and you get lattes, the coffee isn’t strong at all it’s like you drinking milk

A fabulous spot for easy bites, coffees and food shopping. Their aubergine pate is a delight and hard to put down!

Their range of herb teas is poor, the food is great and quality is great however the cost of my bag of shopping made me raise my eyebrows a bit.

My wife and I had high expectations for this organic restaurant, particularly since I am a vegetarian who cooks only organic food every day at home. We asked a man at the entrance for a table. He was not exactly welcoming🥲. Unfortunately, the greeter sets the tone for the restaurant, so we were off to a bad start. We both ordered the Asparagus, Spinach and wild garlic tart with a choice of two salads. The tart was ok but not exceptional. I had the purple and white sprouting broccoli and the lentil and bean salads. My broccoli was green and extremely tough. It was almost all stem and not sprouts as advertised. I could not detect any parmesan and could not find the white and purple sprouting broccoli. The Lentil and bean salad was listless and not flavorful. They do not appear to use any seasonings. My wife had the orchard salad and reported that it had way too much vinegar. We also ordered an Espresso Martini and a whisky sour. My wife felt there was very little alcohol in her drink. My whisky sour had way too much ice and had a disappointing flavor. On the plus side we found the two girls who served us to be engaging and highly customer orientated. We are striking this restaurant off our list.👎👎👎

Great food but disappointed by the snobbery. We ordered 2 dishes and 2 coffees which were excellent and I asked the waiter for some tap water as we were dehydrated from our walk up portobello road and he scoffed at me as if we should be ordering mineral water and walked off. He came back with tap water eventually.. and said ‘I’m good to you aren’t I?’ As if he was doing us a big favour..considering we were ordering food and drink I didn’t think this was too much to ask and it was table service. Our bill was then rounded up with extra service charge than what was stated on the receipt as if he thought we would be too stingy to tip. Really disappointed as the food and atmosphere was excellent. I’ve eaten in a lot of different restaurants as I work in the high end hospitality industry and I’ve never experienced anything like it

It seems only a grocery shop, but inside you' ll see the cute restaurant just upstairs. There, I was told about their organic fresh food, not only vegetarian. You'll find daily dishes and, besides, the menu. It was not necessary reservation beforehand. Nice experience and good meal.

First time, I was very pleased with the cafe latte and the fresh Croissants. Today I clearly stated that I need the almond croissant, cafe latte and some hot milk on the side ( all at the same time ). And that the drinks should be very hot in this weather at it get cold coming outside. Unfortunately the almond croissant arrived first, then the cafe latte - not hot. I questioned the additional hot milk which arrived by the time I finished my latte also not hot Complaining to the waiter, he told me that he can’t help it as he wrote it in the order,however wasn’t actioned. Disappointing

My boyfriend and I went there for breakfast over the weekend, they had ran out of sausages and we ordered egg benedict with bacon. Each plate came with a slice of bread that wasn't enough for the 2 eggs. The portion size was ridiculously small - the bacon was very dry and the salad grisly and with a few leaves added for decoration it seemed. Overall the food was unremarkable and outrageously overpriced, we were charged £1.50 for each extra slice of toast and no butter was offered. For 2 x coffee, orange juice and breakfast the bill was well over £60.00. Very poor value for money!

Really friendly staff and also generally a nice place. We had the roast there, and it was cooked to perfection, but the flavours were lacking a bit, which was a shame, and the gravy was too watery. The potatoes were amazing, though, and the food felt very fresh which was a nice touch.

I placed an online order two months ago and it hasnt arrived. Ive contacted them 3 times to ask for a refund and noone has responded. Really poor customer service!

My favorite place in London. The service is always great, one waiter in particular stands out for his genuine kindness. It retained my attention first time I came, made me want to come back and he was just exactly the same today - I hope he recognises himself (we were at a shared table) :) Products are fresh, very tasty, they do a mushroom toast to die for on their breakfast menu. Worth waiting if the restaurant is full!
