A lovely spot in Chelsea ! A bit busy…

Lovely garden seating which was great on a warm sunny day. Slow service (1 hour until main course arrived after starters) but think that’s probably good as so relaxing. But we had theatre tickets so our fault for not getting there earlier. The 1917 menu wasn’t Offered but gave apology when asked for it. I said my wife’s 60th birthday on booking but no reference to it. Staff lacked a little confidence which is unusual for an Ivy. Overall a lovely meal and setting.

Beautiful garden at the back where we gathered for dinner, Atmosphere was very nice and the service was great, The garden is nicely done and looked after. I will be returning again soon for sure. Thanks for the Ivy team, they were working very hard to make everyone happy

Loved our dinner here! The atmosphere is gorgeous with a lush, garden/jungle vibe - lots of greenery. The food was great - we had arancini, lobster pasta and a chocolate dessert. The pasta was so good - super light & not heavy, which I enjoyed. The dessert was like a chocolate lava thing with a shell on the outside, vanilla ice cream, caramel & honeycomb - one of the best things I've ever had! I'm sad I can't have it again.. might have to fly back just for that lol

STOLEN ITEM DUE TO RESTAURANT/STAFF NEGLIGENCE!! We have had one of the worst possible experiences while dining at this restaurant. What was supposed to be a pleasant evening turned into a very distressing experience due to the staff's lack of security and professionalism. As customers of an upscale restaurant, we expected that our personal belongings entrusted into their care and marked with a receipt system would be kept secure! Clearly, that is not the case!! When we went to retrieve it, we were shocked to find that it had been stolen. What made this situation even more frustrating was the staff's utter indifference when we were expressing our concerns regarding what had been stolen. Not only was there NO ONE at the front desk ensuring the safety of stored items, but when we raised the issue, they showed no concern whatsoever. They were dismissive, unhelpful, and rude. To make matters worse, when I asked for the police to be called, they refused saying that this is my thing to do! My phone battery was almost empty, and I made them aware of that! Still, nothing changed. As we were about to leave, we realised they did not even take our names in case they needed to contact us later. This was again a blatant display of irresponsibility, lack of safety, and a complete lack of professionalism. I strongly advise anyone considering visiting this restaurant to be aware of this serious issue. I have never encountered such disregard for customer security and well-being. If you value your belongings and expect even the slightest degree of accountability from a business due to their negligence, this is not the place!

We had booked the garden for a very important birthday arrangement but were told immediately it was unavailable- to our dissatisfaction. Kindly the staff informed us our table would soon come available - to no avail. We waited 20 minutes to be informed nothing. When we went to ask the hostess, we realised that no garden table being prepared for us. Only after asking a ridiculous amount of times were we finally able to get the garden table(we BOOKED) at 5pm, 1 hour after we had booked. If you book a table at a certain time, you should expect to have that table available at that time.

Beautiful location, restaurant and garden in an elegant and sophisticated Art Nouveau style, Good food, average service, Reservation made for a table in the garden but they sat us inside: fortunately Sergio, a very kind and capable waiter, took care of saving the situation and lifting our mood towards the place, he worked to make up for the shortcomings of his colleagues, really good Sergio!!!!

We were there for breakfast. A family of 12 people, all adults. Good dishes as usual for The Ivy, but the service left a lot to be desired. They took the dishes away from our table after a very long time and at that point we couldn't wait to leave.

Excellent experience! The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful from the first moment. The food is great — well cooked, with fresh ingredients and very good portions. The space is warm and neat. I would go again without a second thought! With a reservation, we don't wait at all.

We were attended by an amazing host Jeda who was always smiling, something rare nowadays. What to say? The service was incredible, Shaid, our waiter, made our staying and our night, polite and professional, top notch 👌 We will be back

I don't usually leave reviews! But this time I feel like leaving it with an open heart. First of all, I thank my friends in London who recommended me and spoke well of this excellent and welcoming restaurant. I started out a little in disbelief but I admit that I changed my mind immediately!! From the first moment I was served by Carolaine, a beautiful and talented waitress with a smile that brings joy. A hug.. I hope to return soon. And I add congratulations for the careful choice of staff, hold on to it, there are no waiters like that around.

I was served by Asia and she made an afternoon out with my wife a memorable one by being so attentive whilst still giving us space. Would definitely recommend to friends!!! One thing I would say is that the music was a bit too loud but apart from that everything was amazing.

For years after years I have to come to this wonderful restaurant once I visit London, specially for a breakfast in outdoor garden. It's still keeping its outstanding level.

We held our wedding breakfast in the Ivy’s Glasshouse and the whole time we were there, was just incredible. The service we received was absolutely superb and the waiters could not do enough to look after us. They really did make our wedding and we’re so thankful we hosted it here. We would 100% recommend to anyone and can’t wait to come back next year hopefully on our anniversary for a meal. Thank you all for the hard work and exceptional service! X

Having been to other locations, I was so looking forward to bringing a friend here for their first afternoon tea. Unfortunately, the terrible service made it truly frustrating experience. Our food arrived after we finished our champagne and the tea arrived after we finished half our tower of sandwiches, scones and deserts. Our neighbouring table had the same issue. They actually finished all their food before the tea came. We kept having to waive the staff down to bring the things we were missing (ie: TEA from our Afternoon Tea) as our server was too busy on his phone and cat-walking up and down the back garden area. He only showed up to drop off champagne; someone else had to process our payment after we gave up on waiting for him. The restaurant is stunning and it’s lovely to see coworkers getting along but this place is just pretentious and the staff chit chat with eachother than they do with customers. Worst part is that the deserts were mediocre at best. Go if you want cute photos.

We were a party of 12. Had set menu except one thing. I was given duck curry instead of plant based. When I queried what I was given i was told ‘it’s ok we”ll replace it’. No concern, apology or discount. One person Was given a well done Steak when had asked for as rare as possible - then had to wait 20 mins for a replacement. Waited ages for diet coke. Waiter Mindlessly Poured wine into an empty glass in an empty seat. Again no apology or redress offered. Sicilian staff member was very pleasant but overall experience not great. And we came early on when it wasn’t even busy . Ivy restaurant group doesn’t seem to ever have enough staff. Nice downstairs loos and lovely setting.

We celebrated our wedding here and couldn’t have asked for a better time. Everything was exceptional from the minute we arrived. Top class food, top class drinks but the reason it was so amazing was because of the service. Tommy and Manu were attentive, friendly and I don’t think anybody at the table ever got to see an empty glass. We couldn’t have asked for a better time, everybody in the wedding party felt exactly the same and it was because of those two gents. Thank you fellas for making our special day that extra bit special and we hope to return in the future and hopefully experience your service again!

I had a wonderful time at The Ivy Chelsea Garden with my friend. The setting was beautiful and relaxing, especially the garden area, which added a lovely touch to the atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was excellent throughout our visit. We both really enjoyed our meals – everything was fresh, tasty, and well presented. It was a perfect spot to catch up and enjoy a nice afternoon together. Definitely a place I’d love to return to! We came in on a busy Friday night without a reservation and were seated within 10 minutes. The decor is gorgeous, it’s upscale and very instagrammable. The bathroom is awesome for any of the girlies who want to take some cute pics with the flower ceiling. We got some pasta, a steak and mashed potatoes and some wines and everything tasted great. Portions were good, the waiter was attentive and polite. Overall pretty good for a fancy night out that won’t completely break the bank.

I initially called to request 2 more chairs added to my booking. This was for a booking for 12 pax and to celebrate a wedding. I understand the maximum capacity is 12 but the agent on the call told me that they would put a request in and let me know the outcome. I wait a week and I receive no response. I call back and again was told to wait. On my third time calling, I was told the request has been rejected. I now have to find a different restaurant close to my wedding date for a large party. The last agent I spoke to asked me if the previous agents had told me information I should have known e.g., if I don't hear back, I should take this request as rejected. I informed the agent that I was not told this and the response was "I should have been told this". Very unhelpful. Very disappointed in how the restaurant has handled this.

Great afternoon tea on Easter Sunday, they moved my booking which was helpful. Also brought my daughter a whole bag of goodies, bunny ears and tie, and a whole cookie decorating kit which was very sweet. Staff were great. Very happy.

Spent a few days in London for our silver wedding anniversary. Booked a table for breakfast. Staff came over as pretty snotty, looked up and down when we arrived, when they spotted my watch all seemed ok. Service poor. Ordered food, coffees etc. Toast and jam never arrived, server noticed and said she will chase it up. Still never arrived, gave us our second coffees on the house. I would have preferred my toast and would have been happy to pay for everything. Server seemed distracted and not interested. The nicest thing about this place is the decor.

Whenever I’m in London, a visit to The Ivy Chelsea Garden is an absolute must. It’s become one of my favourite places. The atmosphere is always so beautiful, elegant but relaxed and the garden space feels like a hidden oasis in the middle of the city. The food never disappoints, the seasonal dishes are always fresh and their afternoon tea is such a treat. I’ll be back!

The restaurant is really good! The dishes are well-prepared, the ingredients are fresh, and the service is very friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed.

Wanted to love this place as it’s definitely beautiful. That said the service was horrific when we went. Had to ask and remind the server several times for the same items, took forever to order and hardly got checked on. Would be great if they had adequate staff to handle the customer volume. Food was ok but nothing too special.

This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've seen. The food was good but not great, and the service was acceptable, but I was happy to linger longer over our plates in the garden, surrounded by flowers and vines, cuddled under the thoughtfully provided cozy Ivy blanket.

We had a wonderful Easter Bunny breakfast here. A wonderful event which was enjoyed by the whole family. Eggs and all breakfast items were on point and the staff could not have been more attentive. We will definitely be back!

The food here never disappoints, plus the location is unique and there is a great atmosphere that makes the whole experience amazing. Service is impeccable, we were served by Bella and Ray and they were very lovely and friendly! Highly recommend

My daughter took me to afternoon tea and surprised me with my sisters ❤️❤️ from the moment we arrived the customer service was 10/10 everyone was so accommodating and friendly. The afternoon tea was actually the BEST I’ve ever had and we will definitely be coming back again 10/10 and we loved that we got individual sandwich’s and rolls. My daughter ordered the champagne deal and it was still only £45 and for the amount you get it was worth every single penny!

We was served by the beautiful Asia last week, She made our dining experience unforgettable. From the moment we sat down, you were warm, welcoming, and on point with everything. You had the perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism, and your menu recommendations were spot-on. What really stood out was how attentive you were without ever making us feel rushed, always checking in at just the right moments. You made us feel genuinely cared for, and it honestly made all the difference. We are American and had not seen a dear friend in over 15 years we are so thankful that Asia made this a beautiful experience.

I visited The Ivy Chelsea Garden in London to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and we were looked after all evening by Nelson and Sahid. Their service was outstanding – both are genuinely lovely people with such warm, welcoming personalities. They made us feel completely at ease, and nothing was ever too much trouble. My mother is gluten-free, and they went out of their way to accommodate her, even bringing out a thoughtful plate of mixed fruit and chocolate while singing happy birthday. It was such a kind gesture and made the evening feel extra special. I can’t thank them enough for making it such a memorable night.

This is the most beautiful atmosphere for afternoon tea! My mother in law and I enjoyed a great time having afternoon tea this past week. If you are not a tea drinker the afternoon tea can be served with coffee. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, the outdoor swearing is my recommendation because it actually was a covered outdoor area that had beautiful flowers and greenery. The service was just okay, we commonly had to ask for things like our drinks and our check multiple times before received them but nothing could beat this atmosphere. The food was all very good! It was a lot of food for one person so come hungry. Would recommend this location for afternoon tea again!! Also very affordable for afternoon tea in London at £37 per person

Such a fun enjoyable time having afternoon Tea our waiter Tommy was amazing creating a great atmosphere and making everyone laugh and have fun dining eating. Great way to end our trip to London.

Book Ivy Chelsea for my wife birthday, what a mistake. Waiter recommended experience menu just green grass donkey food, with salty sauces and chilly sauce. No effort to give a table under the blossom tree, no special effort to serve even a small chocolate with candle while other table was cheering for happy birthday. Felt very sad and disappointed! We have not seen service charge at 13.5% yet in London. So expensive with so poor service. My Negroni never arrived, drank water and ran as soon as possible, I did pay full price though. Finally Ivy has done injustice to Asian cuisine.

The steak was rubber, the knives were not cutting it, we asked a better knife and the staff was rude. Never again, overpriced and uneducated staff.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Ruined a Special Day. I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience today was truly unacceptable. From the moment we arrived, the service was poor and disheartening. The door host—a man with glasses—greeted us with an attitude, giving us uncomfortable stares while we were simply taking a few photos. Once seated, it took over 10 minutes for anyone to even approach us for our order. We asked for dips which never arrived, and no one bothered to check in on us or ask how the food was throughout the meal. Meanwhile, we observed the manager making rounds and checking on other tables—but we were completely ignored. It felt like we were being deliberately overlooked, and the whole experience gave a strong impression of discrimination. What hurt the most was that it was my wife’s birthday. I had made a simple request for something special at the end of the meal, but nothing was done. Instead, we were handed the bill without a word. No acknowledgment, no courtesy—just indifference. As someone who works as a manager in the hospitality industry myself, I know how restaurants are supposed to operate. This was a textbook example of how not to treat guests. A special day that was meant to be joyful was completely ruined because of the staff’s lack of care, attention, and basic respect. Absolutely disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable experience.

Always worth a visit. We were there for breakfast on a Sunday morning at 9:00. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we got a table. As always, the food was excellent, the service was friendly and professional.

We organised a private photoshoot for one of our clients Boursin at The Glasshouse and the entire experience was amazing, we couldn't fault a single thing. Our events manager Dorottya, provided us with support and guidance throughout the entire planning process and ensured everything was taken care of, advising us and answering any questions we had. The two gentlemen who looked after us on the day went above and beyond to ensure everything ran effortlessly. From providing impeccable service with prompt food and drinks orders to assisting with unloading props and organising the room to perfection, their attention to detail was truly appreciated. It was such a pleasure to be so well cared for, and we would highly recommend The Ivy Chelsea Garden for any event you are looking to book in the future. We hope to return soon, thank you!

The most horrid ‘crispy duck’ which is one of their specialties on menu. It was disgusting and more than once I had to dispose of a bite into my serviette.
