Relaxing atmosphere with good food and drinks. There was great service from friendly staff. Love the decor.

After just recently moving to Victoria I have visited this establishment on a few occasions and found the food more than satisfactory. It was offered on the taste card as 50% off Sunday-Thursday ... However when I visited today I was unfortunately informed that it has changed hands. Despite the fact it no longer accepted the taste card I took my party there for a meal. We ordered a few courses and they were all wetherspoons standard. When we spook to the manager he informed us all the food is cooked from frozen (not to our surprise). The price of the food in this establishment does not equate to the quality at the end of the day #Avoid.

We stopped in the Brougham for a few drinks at the weekend. It wasn't busy inside but tables outside were occupied. The bar looked lovely & the bar man was friendly. We ordered drinks - one of which was Bloody Mary - he clearly didnt know how to make this & after discussing with the manager said they weren't able to serve a Bloody Mary but offered me a list of cocktails.... The bar itself was clean & well kept. The Ladies toilet on the other hand was disgusting. Only one of the two cubicles were working. Ok. Then there was no hand soap at the sink & the hand dryer didnt work & there were no hand towels to dry hands with..... then as you exit the toilet there is hand sanitizer - which was also empty. Poor show & very unhygienic. I wouldn't rush back....

Don't expect to get served when outside. Ignored by first waitress who served other tables before us so she could flirt with them. Second waiter came over. We asked what lager they had. Answer came 'I don't know what a lager is'. Had to explain. Terrible terrible service.

Bellissimo english pub con servizio ottimo e velocissimo, tante birre, bell'ambiente. Molto consigliato.

Quiet Thursday evening, refused to seat 2 black men inside because they were wearing shorts - only allowing them to sit outside. A white man wearing shorts was allowed entry, when challenged about this staff said the men were being aggressive which was not the case. Disgraceful - will not be visiting again.

If I had read the reviews before I wouldn’t have eaten here Good job I didn’t as it was lovely Pizza was amazing, chips triple cooked 😍and nachos delicious Waiter was very attentive and courteous Highly recommend

We stopped for a drink to kill time before catching a train home. The bar man (Young, blonde, beard) was super efficient and friendly, offered us the WiFi code without us asking. Had the door open ready when it started to rain. Engaged in conversation with the kids. Fabulous Customer service. It is true, the toilets seriously need fixing though.

We were staying at the park plaza which is nearby and popped into this bar after a full days sight seeing . The 2 guys behind the bar were nice and friendly and provided decent service . We didn’t eat here or use the toilets so can’t comment on their quality .. there were plenty of seats available , big leather sofas actually . There appeared to be a separate VIP area which obviously we didn’t access . Overall the pub was good for a couple of beers but I probably wouldn’t spend my whole night here .

Il posto è tranquillo, ci sono diversi tavoli ed il servizio è efficiente. Ci sono stato qualche sera per un party natalizio aziendale. Molto vivace, le birre sono buone (personalmente bevo solo Guinnes e li c'era). La musica un po' troppo rumorosa per il resto il posto è ok.

A group of us went in for an evening's drink - it was raining heavily, windy and cold. We found a seat only to be told it was reserved (no sign) and asked to move. We moved to the only seat that could accommodate our group and shut the front door that had been propped open - we asked others that were sat nearby and they all agreed it was cold and wet with the door open. At which point one of the barman announced that he 'had' to have the door open - we explained it was cold and wet and he threw open the door, said I need to have it open and you should be grateful I found you somewhere to sit! The seats were vacant and we took them - he didn't really make an effort. We shut the door again (along with others sat nearby who also started to complain) and he flounced over, said it needed to stay open and huffed off. His manner was rude and inappropriate - so we left after one drink. Not sure what he's going to do in the mid winter but not sure why he found it necessary to be so rude and this was definitely not customer service.

So give this pub a miss *Fruit flies everywhere *Toilets are appaling •wine was handed with flies in the glass *Food truly awful Beef burger clearly frozen and tasteless except for the grim cheese which just made it worse Falafels are a joke The pizza was straight out of a horror film *side Plates given to us actually had food on them from someone else. I've a good mind to phone Westminster council environmental health officer!

Popped in for drinks after dinner nearby - nice that there was space on a Friday night and staff were attentive and helpful. The toilets however, were disgusting. Please sort it out then this could be a nice gem of a pub for us near work.

We came in to grab a bite and were told there was no chef, so food was not available. We thanked them and turned to leave. As we were walking out the door, the staff laughed. As a tourist this did not make me feel welcome.

Eating a little late but when we called to book we were warned that food was short! Luckily they had some things we liked. The table we were given was tiny and crammed against a column which had had something large spilled down it... Waiter was pleasant helpful and friendly - food was OK - though aspirations to gastro are a bit stretched. On the upside the tempura (from frozen?) was quickly delivered, hot and tasty. Greek salad OK too though a bit small for the money. bangers & mash - OK too - no letters sent home on this one.

We had plans to go to a nicer Dim Sum place after seeing Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre, but found it completely booked. This place was across the street. Standard pub drinks with a food menu that tried to be Gastropub. We were informed that they were out of the fish and chips….too bad as the dishes I saw looked delish. It took a little too long for the food to show up, and they were also out of the calamari. Wait staff was ok, kitchen needs a little help. Not recommended.

For two of us, it was great. Service was so helpful. Beer was good, food also. For us as tourists, food was bland, but hey, that's how pub food should be.

Its really is nothing special, ok service, ok beer. Its was fine for meeting an old friend and having a chat but if i am honest there a so many other bar around that are much better. Cant imagine if i ever be back.

Came in for dinner had the calamari and tomato and mozzarella salad. Dinner was good. Also had a Guinness beer which was excellent.

We popped in here for some pre-theatre drinks. Amazing cocktails, good vibe and friendly staff. The food looked good so we ordered a fish and chips and my partner had a burger - great food too. Lovely all round bar.

Unbelievably rude staff ! Filthy toilets and on top of it I had food poisoning.. Non of the stuff are qualified to do their job. They have no customer service and you could see them talking about and laughing ones I complained about food.

We visited the pub at lunch and had multiple drinks and food (very average)during the afternoon and early evening.

I don’t know where these 5stars reviews comes from ? The staff very unpleasant and the place stinks of sewage tattered furniture with sticky surfaces. Place screams illness if you drink or eat here. Good luck people with the 5 stars 😂

Bodde 4 nätter vid Victoria station och denna gourmetpub blev vår lokala favorit.

Endroit sympa pour prendre un verre et manger, les cocktails sont un peu chère mais par contre le fish and chips très bon.

We popped in for a quick cocktail late on a saturday night and the staff were very welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful, whilst the drinks were delicious.

Ayer fui a The Brougham con algunos amigos para almorzar y ¡tuve el asado más delicioso! Opté por el cordero y fue perfecto, las verduras también eran increíbles. Normalmente no escribo críticas, pero es raro tener un buen asado en un pub que tenía que decirles a todos. ¡Definitivamente regresaré allí para otro pronto!

Good service, also to correct some mistakes but interiors that need to be renewed ...also the food&beer; menu is limited but fish&chips; and burgers are ok ...prices acceptable and environment enough quiet

Fuimos a tomar una copa al The Brougham en Gillingham Street, cerca de la estación Victoria, ya que nuestro lugar habitual, The Willow Walk, estaba a punto de estallar. Aunque fue el viernes antes de Navidad a eso de las 12. A las 30 horas, este pub lamentablemente no estaba del todo lleno. Había una mesa de ocho (creo que los empleados de oficina) almorzaban y padres con 3 niños en un asiento junto a la ventana. Y nosotros. Los precios son bastante altos, con una botella de casa blanca con un costo de 19.

Popped in for a quite drink after a long day sightseeing OMG the ladies toilets are disgustingly filthy I’ve never seen anything so bad & it wasn’t just because of a busy day it was obviously months of grime the health & safety people need to pay them a visit certainly wouldn’t recommend eating there

Went in for a drink and maybe eat but was really weird as it was dark outside for some reason there was no lights on at all behind the bar so they are serving you in the dark The rest of the place had very little lighting and the few people in there were sitting under the few lights that were on so you good at least read the menu There was a chalk board with specials at one end but again so dark you would have to get close to it to read, We finished our drinks and left as we couldn't struggle anymore with the lighting

The staff in this place is really friendly even offering to take pictures of us !

This is a nice relaxed pub in the Victoria area. Burgers are yum and affordable and staff are very friendly and helpful! Will definitely go back here again.

Friendly, welcoming staff, but that's about it. Very uncomfortable seating. Loud music. Very unhygienic dirty toilets. One to avoid.

My daughter and I stopped in here for a drinks and pizza. We weren't expecting much and didn't have any expectations. We ordered the wings and pizza which was pretty good as well as wine and one of the draft beers. We wanted a relaxing atmosphere and not really loud and it was perfect. Wasn't overly busy for a Saturday night.

I feel sorry for the staff, they are completely untrained & inexperienced, some are enthusiastic but most haven't a clue.

Staff are friendly, until a new member spilled an entire pint of alcohol all over my mother. The manager refused to comp our drinks and wanted my mother to pay for the drinks or receive a 25% discount. The manager was rude and uncooperative. DO NOT go here.

Yesterday my husband, daughter and myself decided to have drinks at this establishment ahead of a restaurant reservation. We sat outside and was served by a nervous looking, young waiter. We came to learn that it was this young waiters first day, which was part of the reason that I made no fuss when he accidentally spilled an entire pint of bear all over me from my head to my feet, also wetting my husbands clothes and suede shoes. We could have, quite rightly, been very cross and kicked up a fuss but we did not. I simply asked for something to dry off with and for them to comp the 3 drinks and we'd say no more about it. Can you imagine my dismay when the young chap returned to our table with a card reader, ready to take payment for 2/3 drinks on the table. I politely pointed out that the cost of the three drinks would not pay for hairdressing, dry-cleaning and the potential ruin of my husbands suede brogues and that as a consequence we would not be paying the for drinks. I suggested that the young waiter refer to his manager and we'd be happy to express the same to them. Lo and behold, the manager then approaches our table, again with the card reader in order to inform us that he could not comp all three drinks, it was an accident and not spilled over me on purpose and we were expected to pay for the 2 drinks. I asked him why he couldn't comp and he actually replied saying that he wasnt willing to - what kind of customer service is this? To go to what you think is a reputable, table-serviced pub in SW1, only to be treated in such an awful way. Even after learning that I would have to sit in a restaurant for 2 hours, reeking of beer he wanted to charge and was choosing not to do what any other manager in his situation would have done. I would not advise ANYONE to visit this public house, certainly NOT if you expect a satisfactory level of service. Suffice to say, we did not pay a penny. Instead, we left our drinks as they were and moved on to somewhere else for pre-meal drinks.

Me encontré en la calle y simplemente queríamos un café en un ambiente que no pertenece a una cadena de café para hacer algunos trabajos. Sin embargo, me engañados por el aspecto agradable del exterior del bar. Tan pronto como llegué me saludaron con un horrible olor (era como si alguien hubiera enfermado y desinfectante habían utilizado para tratar de cubrir el olor). Yo era el único cliente en ese momento y sólo quería un café, así que decidí darle una oportunidad al lugar. No valía la pena, el café, a pesar de estar recién hecho, sabía a que había sentado durante horas y elaboración tenían trozos de semi café flotando en ella. Dejé la mitad y Estaba impactada por el precio (2 libras. 50) teniendo en cuenta el gusto y las críticas que decían que era barato para Londres. Lo único positivo fue que ambos servidores eran educados y rápido.

Pedimos compartir nachos (10 libras) que eran pequeñas y muy agradable - salsa no de un tubo, etc. La camarera era bastante desagradable y cuando pedimos un camarero por sal y vinagre dijo sí y luego se destacó en el bar y no vuelvas. Las patatas fritas eran agradables, pero tomó un largo tiempo y estamos convencidos de que eran de McDonalds.

Have been to this bar for many afterwork drinks with friends, great atmosphere, music and the bar staff were really friendly. Would recommend to everyone.... and the cocktails are great!

Visited here with a friend several times over the last month. Exceptionally friendly, lively and buzzing atmosphere and the food and service were excellent! The owner was there, and she (Chloe) couldn’t have been nicer nor more helpful! Shall be making this a regular venue!

We came across this place walking from our hotel late on a Saturday night. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice, but the music was a bit loud (had to yell across the table to talk at times).

Buscando una comida teatro luego Considera tus opciones. Tuvimos pastel de pescado que estaba bien pero no es una parte importante, si venía con medley de verduras! Así que tenía una pieza de zanahoria además incluía cauli y brócoli rebozado, creo que no estaba preparado, no muy probablemente en caliente debería haber mandado volver pero se apresuraban. El personal fue muy atento y servicial. En lo positivo, el pescado y las patatas fritas que la gente cerca de nosotros pedimos mejor aspecto.

Found this place by chance, close to the hotel we were staying at. Huge portion of very tasty battered fish, with well cooked chips. Very enjoyable.

Conocí a mi hermano en Victoria para bebidas el sábado por la tarde y después de un poco de pasear nos encontramos en el Brougham. Anika detrás del bar era increíble. Muy amable, divertido y tan buen servicio. Ella se convirtió en parte de nuestra tarde! Así que realmente disfruté de mi tarde y las bebidas no eran demasiado caras.

Posto molto accogliente ed economico. Ci siamo trovati bene ed infatti ci siamo tornati più di una volta, il personale è molto cordiale.

No distrito de Westminster, perto do Blue Tree by Hilton Vyctoria, exstem boas opções para se comer bem. Este pub bem acolhedor serve boas cervejas e ótimos pratos. Ficamos no Fish and Chips com ótimo resultado.

The staff are attentive and helpful but the food really lets this place down. For a start half of the dishes offered on the website aren't actually on the menu. My daughter's veggie burger was squishy and stuck to the brioche, my fish pie had really gloopy mash and was completely under seasoned. All of our vegetable were completely overcooked. It was also very noisy, and I suppose it tends to attract a raucous bunch.

They did have a very small amount of dishes to select from. And they even was empty fore the dish i did shose.

The waitress was next to useless, waiter was better, the the chef made us wait an hour for our food,...

We were hoping to get a quick pre-theatre bite to eat and a drink but the food menu looked pricey...

El mes pasado yo y mis colegas estaban cerca del Broughton. Naturalmente, investigamos para una copa por la noche. Terminamos aquí la mayoría de las noches durante todo el viaje. Para el centro de Londres, no es demasiado caro. Tiene espacio para sentarse, una bonita zona de piscina cubierta, comida a un precio razonable (no lo probé, pero algunos amigos hicieron) y el personal era genial. Muy buena ubicación si estás vagando en la estación de Victoria y no quieres sentarte en una concurrida Wetherspoons. Única pega es que cerraba demasiado pronto!

El lugar estaba cerca de nuestro hotel. La música es ruido. . Se tarda un rato para nuestro servidor para mostrar. Ella tomó el pedido y regresar con las bebidas. Pedimos nachos primero y luego el plato principal. Teníamos unos 1 / 2 de los nachos desaparecido y la comida apareció. Yo tenía el pastel de pescado (bien pero no conseguir uno nuevo). Esperamos una eternidad para ella volver a tomar nuestros pedidos para 2 cervezas. Prácticamente tuvimos que buscarla para la factura. En general, sólo buena comida, servicio terrible.

Riktigt dålig mat, misslyckades med alla 3 rätter vi provade, inklusive enkla grejer som bangers and mash. Inte blev man mätt heller, vilket gjorde att vi tog efterrätt som var ännu sämre. Okej lokal men inte heller intressanta drycker, finns många bättre ställen att gå till så undvik detta.

Pasó por semana con un grupo de amigos. Al principio pensé que era justo lo que queríamos: un pub tranquilo para tomar una copa y ponerse a corta distancia de la estación de Victoria. Para ser sincero, estaba tranquilo, pero supongo porque hay pubs mejor alrededor. Cuando el barman empezaron mal se olvidó de darme mi cambio! Las bebidas eran básicamente 5 libras una pinta así los cálculos no fue difícil! Mesas y sillas viejas, muchos de los sofás rasgada. Los inodoros mejor evitarla. Tengo que decir que la comida vi parecía bueno, pero decidimos mudarnos a un local italiano en vez de probarlo.

We had Fish & Chips and the fish was excellent, my only grumble was the service, regulars appeared to get more prompt service

I booked this as we needed a place for lunch near Victoria station as my elderly mother has limited mobility but also prefers a more traditional menu.They confirmed the booking the day before via email and so we arrived as planned. The girl at the bar shrugged her shoulders saying not sure why they confirmed as there is no chef this week and consequently no food. She apparently was not working the previous day so not responsible for the confirmation. I have since sent an email asking why they confirmed but they have not responded.

Забрели случайно, в целом крепкая четверка. Паб расположен в самом центре, выбор алкоголя не плохой, цены приемлемые. Зашли поздно вечером и сытые, поэтому дегустировали только напитки. Мягкие диванчики, есть вип зал где отмечали очень шумно день рождение. В целом наверное во всех английских пабах очень шумно ))) Когда выходили покурить на улицу, нам предложили купить кокаин. Из этого смело можно сделать вывод найдется все и на любого любителя.

El lugar es muy agradable.. la atencion muy buena. La cerveza muy rica y la comida excente. Un lugar ideal para compartir con pareja o amigos. La ubicacion es muy buena ya que esta a pocos metros de Estacion Victoria. Volveria a ir.

This became our local for the two nights' stay we had in London recently, we went to a show on the first night and popped in here as it was around the corner from our hotel.Good choice of drinks, nice staff (couple of young ladies and a gentleman), loads of seating, good music, we thought it was going to be man's pub from the outside and were pleasantly surprised when we went in.

Atmosphere and service was good, getting served quickly. Though nice to have music, it was way too loud - Ear splitting. When you're nearer the bar you just cannot hear anybody you're with.

This is a great gastro pub with an impressive cocktail menu. I went here to meet up with work colleagues and we had a fantastic evening.It is in a handy spot for many of the shows around Victoria so it does get busy. If you want to be sure of a seat or a table for food then I recommend that you reserve a space.Drinks are normal prices for London. Cocktails were between £8-10 each.Food menu had a good choice of starters and mains. The food was well presented and tasted great.In my group we had some beef burgers, chicken burger and a fish and chips. Everyone said the food was tasty and cooked just right. We didn't have any, but the pizzas looked amazing! I will be back for one of those.The staff were rushed off their feet and tried to keep up with table service, but a few times we headed to the bar as it was quicker.It was so busy the staff forgot to give us our food bill and we were there so long we forgot to pay! We walked out and realised the next day we hadn't paid. Feeling like thieves we phoned up the next day and the manager was great about it and found it funny and really appreciated us calling up and paying by card over the phone.This place has a great buzz and atmosphere so go all Ng and find out for yourself how good it is.

Having come from the Theatre as part of my Daughters 18th birthday gift, we wanted to continue the upbeat celebration with a drink in a London Bar. My orders from my Daughter was "No old mens"pub, so when we found this establishment it fitted the bill.I ordered drinks for the four of us including my 15 year old son, he had a coke.We made ourselves comfortable, it was around 5pm none of us were hungry yet and this place did have a food offering, so no need to look elsewhere.Twenty minutes went by, i was thinking about ordering more drinks, when we were approached by a member of staff, a guy with his arm in a sling.He said that we would have to leave as they did not have a licence for under 18s to be on the premises. He then stood by the door in an intimidating fashion, maybe to hurry us up i am unsure. The barman and sling man both looked over at our party as i ordered the one and only round, yet they never said anything, happy to accept the coins of the realm.This was a rather unsatisfactory way to deal with four strangers in town, putting a damper on my Daughters 18th birthday celebrations.

Likes their comfy sofas, brightness inside (went at lunchtime), and proximity to Victoria station - but that's all the good things I can say about this place.Waitress was inattentive. Food was bland - lukewarm and they used cheap cuts of meat (ok - shouldn't expect much from a pub but I've had better!)My advice is: go somewhere else - there are plenty other good restaurants on Wilton Road. This pub should stop serving food really.

Music was too loud to enable conversation, despite the bar being empty. Drinks list is extensive, but overpriced. 'Atmosphere' was non existent, and like most other patrons we were keen to get out. Under no circumstances use the toilets. Filthy, damp, inch deep in 'water' on the floor, and stinking. Many other, and much better, options close by. Not long for this world.

The looked like a nice place and generally was. The staff was friendly and it was a comfortable place. But the food was just ok and for the price it should have been much nicer or more of it, this disappointed us. I would also note that several families were turned away while we was there because children are not allowed. Over all it's a nice place but you will be disappointed by the price and it's not family friendly.

Half the menu unavailable on a Friday lunch time? Half of the dish I order was cold, veg was fridge cold! No check back so could not fix mistake.I told the waitress when she billed the plate just asked if I want veg heated up (10 minutes ago possibly). The no further action taken. Serious need of staff training. Will not return!

Just popped in for a drink with my teenaged daughter before eating at the fantastic Kazan along the road. Wasn't busy but took ages to be served at the bar. First thing the barman said was "please remove your hat". Sorry? "It is company policy not to serve customers wearing hats". I'm going to take it off as soon as I sit down. "It is company policy..." etc, etc. Having submitted to the bizarre dress code we got our drinks... £10 for a beer and an apple juice and a bag of crisps a bit steep, I thought. Loos needed a good clean. The thing about the hat -- maybe they want to deter ppl in baseball caps -- and the fact that there were not one but two bouncers -- one on the door and one patrolling the inside, glowering at the customers -- made us think that it can get a bit rough sometimes. Don't know and won't find out, because we won't be going back.

The service was good but the atmosphere wasn't great. The music was so loud you couldn't talk. The food wasnt great. The buns were burnt on hamburger and chicken sandwich.

Stopped by last week, the man behind the bar made our party (3 of us) wait for at least 10 minutes before acknowledging us. The drinks were fine but the food took forever to arrive and when it did, it was cold. We voiced our complaint to bar man and he didn't seem to care at all.

When we arrived and stood at the bar, we were not acknowledged in any way by the person behind the bar, in fact we were studiously ignored for quite some time. We tried to order drinks but that proved to be very difficult as part of the order was not understood at all (lime juice and soda). We were told the drinks would be brought to the table but only two of them were brought - we had to keep asking for the others. The food was fine and we had coffee but when we asked for more coffee, we were told that there was no milk and no coffee. It's a shame as we'd been here before and enjoyed it but there are so many other options in the vicinity, I don't think I'll be going again.

Ate here last night with my family. My mum had booked a table for 6 for 8pm, however on arrival we were told they had no record of our reservation. The male waiter passed us to a young female member of stuff who was unapologetic and rude. She offered no alternative, despite there clearly being free tables anyway. We asked if we could sit in the corner and she wearily agreed as if she didn't want our custom.It then took an absolute age to get any attention from the waiter, resulting in us finally grabbing him and requesting some menus. Seemingly he was rushed off his feet, despite only having one or two couples to serve. Eventually the bouncer brought us menus?! Ordering the food was also torturous and took forever. It arrived fairly quickly, although our starters were not cleared before our mains were served. No cutlery was brought for around another ten minutes, so we were sitting with our mains going cold! When we finally ate, the bacon in my boyfriends burger was cold, as was my mums hotpot. Trying to explain this to the other girl who was supposedly a waitress was impossible as she seemingly spoke no English. Any time we requested more drinks etc the male waiter seemed totally overwhelmed and could only complete one request at a time (very slowly). He also wanted to serve red wine in a cooler with ice! Overall, the staff seemed horrendously lacking in training. I have waitressed myself and it really should not have been as difficult as it was made to feel last night. I've never written a tripadvisor review before but I felt compelled to as this place has some good reviews and I just cannot see why! My mum was excited about this restaurant booking but it turned out to be pretty disastrous. I wouldn't recommend at all.

Everything was great until we requested our bill. We wanted to pay and they took forever to give us our bill and when we questioned this we got yelled at by a younger female staff member and then got told by the manager that he would call the police. I spoke with the manager and asked him, what are you going to tell the police? That we want to pay the bill and you have half of the money in your hand??? A really sad situation as we spend a lot of time in the hotel next door!!!!!!

The Brougham has great curb appeal and delivers on the charm inside. Real wax candles, fresh tulips in vases and a cheery fire burning. The food was better than the terrible food found in most pubs and while the waiters were friendly enough, they were fairly inattentive and didn't seem to be fluent in English!

Wow. Upon entering, it appeared to be a nice, upmarket wine bar/restaurant. Ordered two drinks at the bar and was shocked by the unfriendly service - eyes rolling, slamming of order pad on bar and irritated communication from one barman. Noticed that the phone was ringing and the same barman was picking up and hanging up immediately, found this quite amusing but thought it might be an internal call. To amuse ourselves, we called the bar whilst sat opposite, and witnessed said barman pick up the phone, and subsequently hang it straight back up without a word said. Was just a quick stop for a drink before the theatre, but won't be back.

I visited this establishment yesterday night, during a work party!The place seems ok, at the beginning, even if I literally had to wave at the Bartender (I don't usually do it because I found it quite rude!) to be served, while they had 3 bartenders and 2 customers.The night goes on and few of us were quite drunk. I tried to look after them to not burden the staff but they didn't stop serving alcohol and after a while the bouncer came across aggressively asking us to leave, and threatening to call the police and we had to leave few drinks we paid for.I tried to speak to him on a level and he kept being rude, while the manager was useless.I dared him to call the police (I was sober!)since I think they should have refused to serve whom from us was visibly drunk, rather than get paid and complaining afterwards!My colleagues took me away before I could actually made them call, even if a doubt they would have done since I was sober and they were wronged.They create the situation and they handled poorly!

The following is very much based on my partner and I's sense of unfolding events in our brief foray into the Broughman. We may have misconstrued things (emphasis on the may), but we have no reason to believe we did. Gut feeling is powerful. Although we are aware there is a degree of subjectivity in our account of our experience there...We had an hour to kill until our bus at the victoria coach station. We are a young couple. I am from London, my girlfriend is Algerian, currently studying in Glasgow. She was down for the weekend and was about to head back by coach. We decided we would have a drink at a nearby pub to kill the time. We stumbled on the Broughman by accident: it looked inviting; the exterior decoration was inventive given the blandness of that area, and so we thought it might be a good place for a drink.However, on walking in, we were instantly aware that it was an upmarket establishment. Minus one-degree centigrade outside, and dressed in puffer jackets (and rucksacks), we certainly didn't fit the fashion bill, what with the clientele of balding white men in suits and jackets. It was clearly an expensive establishment, but that didn't matter too much: as it was our last half hour or so together before my partner departed, we were happy to have a drink there regardless. So we approached the bar to order when the two thirty-somethings behind it gave us a rather salty smirk as we came near. I could see the young woman's eyes looking me over, and I felt I was being judged by my outfit that was certainly incongruence to the other drinkers at the establishment (as I say, a puffer jacket, and a large bag I was carrying for my partner). Then the young woman's eyes looked over at my partner. She suckered her lips. That seemed frosty. But I thought: it's our last half hour together for another month or more, let's not be perturbed, So I asked: how much for a lager? The young woman smirked, and replied: "we have nothing on draught tonight, sorry". Her colleague sniggered to himself and had to avert his gaze. Disappointed, and at that moment not reading into her reply, we traipsed out. However, as we were leaving, my partner noticed how nearly every table of chubby old men had beers all over them. It was clear they were telling us this to get rid of us because we did not fit their aesthetic.As I say, it is difficult to be sure that this was what went on. But it certainly felt this way, and it is not the first time my partner has been rejected from bars in this country in a similar manner. What else can we write? If we're wrong, we're sorry; but the fact that there were freshly poured pints of beer coupled with the frosty greeting the barwoman served us (plus the fact that what pub in central London shuts down its draft for the night), has led us to believe this was a snotty and racist move to get us out of there.

We had a sharing platter and chips and it was ok however this place evidently has some roof problems as there was water pouring into the gents through an air vent I suspect from recent heavy rain whole place smells of damp and was quite dark for midday on Monday so as noted nothing wrong with food basically but this is not a recommendation- an honest review could be worse

I came across this gastro bar while looking for a venue to host a leaving lunch. Having checked out their website and reviewed their menu, it seemed on first impression, a good choice.My first issue came when I tried to book online. The Brougham's website has the most useless of reservation forms. I was so confident that my booking had not been taken, that I called the bar, to confirm. I was right; they had not received my booking. I had to make the reservation (again) over the phone. There was no official confirmation, other than being told it is now in their system.So far, so good.Upon arriving at their (empty) bar, I found that the table for ten I had requested, was a table for eight, with two additional settings squeezed in at either end. The issue was that each table was barely big enough for two settings, let alone three! Like I said, the place was empty, and there were empty tables all around us. Not a great first impression.After being seated, our waitress came over and took our drinks order. Nothing too complicated. A couple of beers, a few soft drinks and wine and soda. (The wine came back without the soda.). We then proceeded to review the menu and asked the waitress to take our order. We were informed that the kitchen had only just opened and that some mains were not available. I don't like to complain, but given that I had invited ten people to the bar, I was beginning to lose my patience. Why would a gastropub, that opens at midday, not be in a position to have a full menu available? One of the culinary features of this bar is their pizza range. THERE WERE NO PIZZAS! The only hot vegetarian option (I made this reservation in cold mid-November) was also not available. The only alternative was a Greek Salad!Smiling through gritted teeth, we made our order and waited for its arrival. It arrived within a reasonable amount of time. The quality of it was frankly sub-standard. Given the limited choices available, you would think it safe to assume that they would put that extra effort into making it appetising. Far from it. The table ordered either sausages and mash or burgers. Firstly the sausages were the cheapest gristled filled junk that you would expect to receive in a truckers midnight pit stop. Void of any flavour and clearly pre-cooked and reheated. The mash tasted like it came from a packet and the gravy with parsnip crisp was an underseasoned congealed mess. Most of us that ordered it left half the serving. Second the burger. How can any self-respecting gastropub mess up its burgers?!?! Advertised as bacon, cheeseburger with gherkins and relish served on a brioche bun with fries and coleslaw. They arrived on their grand wooden platters. However, the burger patty was a little on the small side, covered in a cheap cheddar, and topped with two tiny slithers of bacon. One of our diners had to ask for 'an extra serving'. (Which consisted of another two meagre slithers). The coleslaw tasted like it was shop bought. I think, given what I have described, that the chips were also shop bought too.Overall, this was one of the most underwhelming experiences I have had in some time. I will obviously not be wasting my time or money with this place again!

We went to the Brougham for dinner. It is clearly a nice place to meet for a drink and it was certainly busy (Saturday night). The food was OK if a bit limited. The staff were friendly enough. Overall better for a drink than for food IMO.

I will say the service was adequate they were polite the vibe of the place was kind of cool but the meal did not impressI decided to order the soup of the day which was something I've never heard of and I said why not give it ago a Corgett whichever later found out by googling is zucchini and I hate zucchini as a vegtanle, never had it as a soup, but the soup was very tasty and better than the entre I got the bangers n mash and while the 3 bangers were ok, the mash and the soup or gravy it was in was like warm, it was more a big mound of cold mash with just a couple of sausagesI had gone 1/4 mile away to another British pub a few days earlier the Marquis and was blown away by it, this day was raining and I wanted to hop on in and grab another British meal but wish it was more memorable, maybe I just got There a bad night of the bar area does seem cool and the soup was good
