The best restaurants serving British food in London

Came for a meal with friends and the place was quiet and not very busy. The waitress didn’t write the orders down and then when our meals came my friends meal was missing. It had been “forgotten”. We kept asking where it was as we had started eating and they said sorry it will be another 15 minutes. We had then all finished our food when my friends meal eventually arrived. We questioned this with the waitress and asked for it to be removed from the bill. She was quite rude and laughed saying no this doesn’t warrant a free meal. All you can get is a drink. Her attitude wasn’t warm or friendly. Was a strange atmosphere in the restaurant. Food was very average & very overpriced.

Recibí un vale de la red así que llegó a última hora. El pub estaba muy ocupado, pero el personal era todo amable y acogedor. Tuvimos que esperar un par de minutos ya que no había mesas disponibles, pero tomamos una copa en el bar primero, que era agradable y animado. Pedimos nuestra comida y más bebidas en el bar y nos dijeron que había un poco de espera, pero no nos importó ya que podíamos ver lo ocupado que estaba. Cuando recibimos nuestro pescado y hamburguesa, todo estaba caliente y disfrutamos mucho de ambos. Fue genial ver un pub que obviamente era tan popular y todo el personal zumbando con sonrisas en sus caras. Definitivamente volveremos de nuevo (incluso cuando no tenemos un vale) ❤️

We held my mums 100th birthday celebration at the Lord Robert’s and Ghazala and her team went above and beyond to make sure it was perfect. The tea was amazing, beautiful little cakes, warm home made scones, fresh fruit, savoury tartlets etc worth every penny. It is by far one of the nicest afternoon teas we’ve had. All the family agreed too. If you have got a special occasion to celebrate don’t hesitate to go there. Wonderful!

I haven't eaten in the restaurant but upstairs they have Lucky Gin, a super fun bar with delicious cocktails (and great value), gorgeous design features and fab, friendly staff - and a DJ on Fridays & Saturdays. There's a private space behind the bar which I reserved for 20 friends for my birthday and we all had a blast, it was the best venue - thanks so much to Ryan and all the team x

Es triste ver que esta semana el restaurante había ido. Los llamaron, siguen ahí, pero cambiaron el nombre del negocio a El Olivo.

Generous offer from manager in response to last visit issues and unhappiness. We were not looking for freebies by the way - first in my 75 years I realised. Sunday lunch: decent meals this time. Everything cooked well and decent portions. Lamb shank, beef and the beef/turkey plate. Staff were solicitous in looking after us. Thank you to Georgina and staff.

We’ve been to Bills on 3 octomber in the evening. We really enjoyed the food(very delicious) and the manager in charge was professional . The best part of our night was the waiter, named Gino , who paid attention to our table all the time (not only to our table , but to all the restaurant trying to satisfy everyone). Thank you Gino for making our last evening out (before the lockdown) special! We will be back as soon as lockdown ends !!

Mi primera vez probando pastel, puré y licor y fue muy sabroso y bien presentado. Los precios son decentes y el personal es muy amable. Mi único problema era lo incómodo que es el asiento allí. Los asientos son de madera y muy duros, y el banco en sí hizo que mi espalda cesara, lo que también me dio puntos de sutura y calambres en mi cuerpo. Me alegré de levantarme y volver a moverme. Salvo esto, mi experiencia fue genial! Gracias chicos.

Five of us came for drinks on a Saturday afternoon. The rugby was on so it was pretty busy. We managed to get a table in the back restaurant room in front of a TV despite the room apparently being for a private party - we didn't know this when we sat down. We shared some food which was nice as was the beer. The upstairs is much quieter and more like a lounge than a pub.

We had the most fantastic dinner. Everyone had something different but all were sublime. As was the wine. A visit here is essential.

My husband and I came here for dinner celebrating our wedding anniversary, Denise was amazing, welcoming and so attentive, The dinner was so outstanding cooked by Lee , we both had steak, this was probably the best steaks ever we have had, perfectly cooked to our liking, gorgeous bold flavours, and most importantly the steak was fresh and perfect melted in our mouths every bite was heavenly! Cannot praise Lee enough for his cooking skills, and also cooked with love and care and time. Thank you Denise and Lee for a wonderful dinner and the care and attention you put in for the food and seving us! I highly recommend this restaurant to all, definitely my favourite restaurant, worth paying the price for fantastic fresh food ❤

Fuimos a tomar el té de la tarde el fin de semana pasado, tan pronto como llegamos el hombre (calvo alto) detrás de la recepción del restaurante nos ignoró por completo y estaba en su teléfono móvil después de que tratamos de interactuar con él, nos miró y nos dijo que esperemos solo entonces para continuar en su teléfono durante otros 5 minutos! ¡Cuando finalmente nos atendieron, estaba muy desorganizado! Servicio completamente poco profesional y pobre. El té de la tarde en sí estaba bien, he tenido mucho mejor, pero el servicio a la llegada era extremadamente pobre y arruinó la experiencia desde el principio. No recomendaría simplemente debido a esto!
