Hidden from the usual tourist crowd this excellent little pub has a decent selection of real ales and a cozy open fire in winter.

Great range of beers, including most of the Timothy Taylor's range. One of very few pubs locally to regularly stock a dark mild. Close to the river and Putney Bridge. There's a small outside drinking area at the back.

A nice cosy and quiet pub right in the centre of city. It feels like a proper english pub. There were only a few people when we visited. Nice for having conversations while drinking your favourite beer. Exteriors and interiors of the building is fascinating as well. I would definitely recommend

Don't go on quiz night, unless you want to partake in the quiz. Really noisy. Took ages to change the barrel too.

Love this Pub. It exudes character. The Beer choice is bewildering, and the service and vibe are perfect. If you want bland, and bougie, don’t come here. It’s all about the cosy quintessential British Pub here, and there are very few left. It’s almost a Country Pub in London- one of only 4 in London where I drink the cask.

a good old fashioned pub - good beer, friendly staff, good atmosphere. Only criticism would be its difficult to get a seat when busy but happy to put up with that just for a well poured pint - how different to the Spoons down the road

Just how pubs should be. Nearly tucked away on a side street near the river and having not been here in years the Bricklayers didn’t disappoint. There’s a vast range of cask ales on offer and plenty of keg too. The staff were very friendly and quick to line up the drinks. You can’t knock any pub that has Tayto crisps either. Prices are much more affable than the majority of pubs in Putney. It was great to find a non generic pub with a good crowd, decent music and excellent beer. It will be top of my list when next in the area.

Good boozer, tucked away of the main road. Good selection of ales on tap and board games/pub games. Seating area out the back. Toilets are a bit on the small side.

The sofas are very soft and are uncomfortable. When I sat down i sunk. I sat on a normal chair which was much more comfortable

Usual pub vibe, cheaper than some other pubs in the area, staff is usually friendly, toilets are usually very clean. I recommend it if you're in the area.

One of the best pubs in London. Offers a well-curated wide range of real ales, served in immaculate condition. Cosy decor with lots of wood panelling, comfy chairs and pictures of the pub and surrounding area in days gone by. The vintage Guinness taps are a nice touch too.

A really friendly traditional pub not far from Putney Bridge and the highstreet. Great selection of beers and knowledgeable helpful staff. Quirky little touches make this place unique. We'll be back soon.

We used to come here years ago but it went downhill quite so we hadn't been since. It's now under new management and it's great. Beer is excellent, the staff are friendly and the pub has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Without a doubt my favourite pub in Putney. Such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere with a fantastic selection of beers. Chris and the team are lovely.

Decent beer, pleasant venue, can be crowded, beards not compulsory.

Although recently refurbished, it has a great small pub feel. Really great range of beers and wines. New outside area and back room has made the place larger but has kept the feeling of a real local.

We had a family wake here on 2 February and there were 30-40 people. Chris and his team were welcoming, friendly and very professional. Chris went to great lengths to ensure that everything was perfect and even took the food in before opening time and laid it out. Thank you all so much. You made a sad day happy.

Small cosy independent pub with a good selection of beers although can get a little too busy in the early evening during the later part of the week.

Excellent pub near Putney Bridge on the South side of the Thames. Nine cask beers on handpump when I last visited including a porter. Some outdoor seating. Not too busy before the Spurs game at Craven Cottage.

As a long suffering Irish man in this city, I can safely say this was the best pint of Guinness I’ve had in London. Barman even went out of his way to wipe away some overflow on the glass before serving.

Great local pub in the centre of Putney, have been visiting for many years and will return.

A classic back street local pub. Great beer, friendly welcoming staff, small garden and a variety of patrons. Everything a back street pub should be. Make the effort to go, you will not regret it, unless you try all the beers that they have on of course.

Place was pretty much empty. Can see why. No atmosphere, and expensive.

Such a great little find! Under new management, and really welcoming. Thankfully it’s a free house. Was getting tired of all the Youngs pubs. Please support this great independent!

Great beer at a quiet and cosy local pub. Recently refurbished with more space, better bathrooms, and many more beers available on tap. The pub hasn't lost its character though.

Fifty years ago this was my home from home and office (!). I've not been to this incarnation due to illness but it seems to be the friendly local that it always was. It was famous for its Guinness even back then - well sadly it was a Watneys house. But we weren't there for the beer. Sounds even better now.
