Konnigans in Wandsworth

Seems to have gone abit down hill! Used to be my favourite place in Wandsworth town. Food was good but the service isn’t as good as it used to be!

Amazing place for a breakfast or brunch. Reasonably priced and a perfect date anyone friend or partner. Great service and food was lush.

Not sure if it was because I was solo but I have been here before and was treated much better. I had my food ceremoniously dumped on my table. I actually thought “What did I do ?” I felt like an inconvenience that’s for damn sure. I know you think I should be giving a lower rating but the food was passable (or was that because I was so hungry !) Apart from the soggy bun the chorizo burger was actually nice. I love the music, the decor but on this occasion I hope I never need a French Visa again or feel the need to come back!!!

Quick takeaway and amazing service. One of the best prawns and squid dishes ive had in a while. Super affordable super rich in taste and a well presented beautiful restaurant with amazing staff. Thank you Konningans.

Customer service can be luck of the draw, but otherwise food is generally nice.

I want to prefix this with saying that I have visited this establishment with friends multiple times and never experienced any issues with the service mentioned by other reviewers. This morning however was different. When a friend and I requested a table for 2 we were curtly asked by a heavyset brunette woman had we booked despite the venue being almost empty. Never happened before. Begrudgingly we were sat in the corner right in front of the window away from the one other customer in the cafe and promptly ignored. Customer after customer walked in and none were asked if they had booked but seated right away and some were even offered a tour of the very beautiful back, receiving an engagement and welcome noticeably absent from our interaction. Food came, but there was never any inquiry as to our experience and we had to approach the waitresses to grab the bill. We walked out to silence, reassuring me we had made the right decision to take the service charge off. It's a shame that on the day we appeared not to be the right type of customer. It was made visibly clear that we weren't welcome here and not a priority, laughable with it being Wandsworth not Hampstead where the service is top notch. It really is a great place, that serves great food but there appears to be a gatekeeping bourne of insecurity that only means it's shooting itself in the foot long term. I doubt this review will change anything or prompt reflection or further thought, but I will not come back here again, or bring any more friends. Instead I will explore other options in the area and support local businesses who want to meaningfully engage with their community no matter who they are. If you're on the fence on whether to go I would suggest somewhere else. Sayonara

Generally good food and a very pleasant, convenient location. I will say the service is often slow (but always polite and given with a smile). Think they just need to hire more. Edit: The restaurant appear unable to operate with Uber eats or Just eat. On many occasions, the staff simply forget to turn on the tablets so orders just hold in limbo until you physically call them to remind them to turn on the respective tablet. - I'm guessing they pay some sort of service fee to both delivery companies - seems like a waste of money.

I went to order and collect a Take Away and they still charged me for the service or optional tip of 5.22 Pounds without asking me in addition to another 5.95 Pounds that they call it "Wet" in total 10 Pounds more and I still don't know what that is. The food is worthless and very expensive. 

Terrible service. They just wanted to close early and kick us out and we’re very obvious about it. Food wasn’t presented well and looked rushed. Not going back!

I was down in London on business and cane across the place as I was travelling and was running out of place to go as o have been down for the last 2 weeks. I did a mistake in my order the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The place a very re elated and friendly atmosphere. I wa Sevier by Magda and Lewis a credit to the place

Amazing food. We had the ribs and for £15 you get so much. Melt in the mouth.

We were very excited to treat ourselves to a Sunday breakfast but we didn’t end up having a good experience. The staff attitude didn’t feel helpful. More proactive management is needed.

Nice atmosphere, a bit slow service, food a bit too oily for my taste, but generally we had a good dinner with friends due to lovely atmosphere and good music.

They can be hit and miss on breakfasts but this time it was very good. I’m a bit of a stickler for good eggs and I’m so glad they have started using the deep orange yolk eggs again. After the tasteless yellow ones. I had eggs Benedict and although quite a small portion it was delicious. They could do with using a better coffee supplier as it’s quite basic

Used to love this place. The female manager is nasty and rude. After coming here for over 20 years - we won’t be back. Their loss.

Good food, however this place offer discounts which later on are ot not added to your bill or wrongly calculated. Tonight (7th Sept 2023) was neighbour discount of 20%, but first of all waitress did not want to add to my bill and then gave me just 10%. Disappointed level max. Not recommended 😕

Went here for breakfast and was disappointed by the low quality of the food. Everything is premade and in my opinion not worth the money. You get better quality for similar prices at the cafés next door

Love the atmosphere here, feels really cosy & has nice decor. Always enjoyed the cocktails too. The food is mixed though, and the service suffers when they're busy (they needed probably another 2 people working last time I was there to cover all the tables)

Lovely Sunday roast at a reasonable price.

I had some time to kill so sat outside for a brunch and pot of tea. The eggs Benedict was lovely and tea was just right, service was great. All in all, hard to fault. Great to sit outside in the sunshine and watch the world go by. Recommended.

Great little bar restaurant in Wandsworth Town High Street. I had the burger which was great my wife had the crab and and avocado which was also great. Good service and reasonably priced.

We were staying in Wandsworth Town in June/July 2023 and visited Konnigans for drinks/dinner on two occasions. The food is good (and good value on Monday/Tuesday with the specials). It's a lovely spot to watch the world go by. Next time we stay in Wandsworth we will be back.

Great service and nice food. The restaurant has a diverse menu offering something for everyone. The fajitas are a crowd favourite, but I ordered the sirloin steak and was pleasantly surprised as my expectations were low considering the menu did declare that it was minute steak. The steak was tasty and well cooked. The chips well seasoned and fresh.

We arrived just as the kitchen was closing but they took pity on us and let us order. Really friendly service and really, really tasty food!

Nice place but food was just adequate. Our group of 5 had sunday roast here but it was quite dry and the meat was not particular flavourful for either the pork or the beef. They do offer free top ups of Yorkshire puddings which is a nice touch.

Absolutely perfect day to dine on the patio - or should I say sidewalk?! Good beer, good little appetizers, great way to kick off our vacation

Absolutely brilliant, came for breakfast two consecutive days, lovely fresh tasty breakfast, friendly staff. Definately be back, next time we are staying in the area.

Have been coming here for many years because of good food and community vibe, but recently service has rapidly declined. Very rude and abrupt staff, long waits, no smiles, all excuses.

My son and I had lunch here and the food was well prepared and staff were attentive and friendly. We were rather in a hurry on our way to another job so didn't stay long. It's got a good relaxed atmosphere and a wide selection of dishes, wines and other beers. Highly recommended.

The cocktails were just right with some easy food to have between drinks. Great place with some discounts for locals on curtain days.

Stumbled across this place by chance! I’m so glad we tried it out as it didn’t disappoint! In fact we returned only a few days later it was that good. Varied menu which was nice and the portions were perfect. Excellent service too. We’ll be back for sure

Food took over an hour to come, and when I did it come it arrived cold.

Very lucky to have this hidden gem in our neighbourhood! Our favourite place in whole London!

Great place to go for brunch, the eggs Benedict was superb and even better it was served with hash browns. The full country breakfast was high quality and tasty. Staff friendly and a nice atmosphere! Would definitely recommend!

Love the club sandwich and BLT but the burger needs more seasoning

Stopped in here for an early lunch on a Saturday. Food was fantastic and great value for money. Staff were attentive.

A nice brunch place at a walking distance from the Wandsworth town station. Have brunches here twice and I really like the place. They have a nice ambience and posters all around in the walls. Sone really cozy corners and a fireplace too 😍 The ladies toilet is downstairs a little steep for me. Overall the place is really great and has good food options.

Lovely restaurant in wandsworth with tasty food at a reasonable price - approx £16 for a meal and soft drink ! Had the veggie/halloumi skewers which were great for a lighter bite. Service was good- attentive and friendly staff. Decor inside over Xmas period was great! Gave a cosy at home feel! Been here a couple of times now and will be going again!

Gran descubrimiento en Wandsworth, pub muy bien decorado, con una sala muy bien decorada, que consigue unos espacios muy agradables y reservados. Una comida sabrosa y típica, apoyada por un buen servicio. El curry verde muy rico y muy picante, me transportó a las calles de Bangkok donde probé por primera vez el curry verde.

Loved this cosy restaurant. Steak night was a delight with well prepared and presented food at reasonable prices.

Dinner was good and reasonably priced. Great wine, service was excellent. But pudding was not the best. Ordered an Eton mess. It was made using squirty cream, had no fresh cream or strawberries, It did have lots of blue berries. But was served in a small glass and contained very little meringue.

I am the mayor of this place... lol. I eat here at least once a week if not more. It's just so good!

What lovely service and ambience. It’s a quaint place with twinkly lights and a great menu. We visited at lunchtime and had chilli con carne, cod & chips and pulled pork burger - wow all excellent and huge portions exactly what we wanted and very reasonably priced. The food was really good and fresh, I wish I lived closer to come here regularly. I really don’t understand some of the reviews here. Go and try it.

The best breakfast in the area! I’ve been meaning to try this place for months and I’m so glad I finally did. The food was absolutely delicious and I cannot recommend it enough. It is well worth a visit and I can’t wait to return to try the dinner menu. (Only thing to note is that when busy, the service can be a little slow, most likely due to not enough staff at peak times. The waiters are amazing and clearly very busy, but just something to note and be patient with).

Used to be a favourite brunch spot, however the service has really gone downhill - main waitress is quite stern and rude, which doesn’t help either.

The tables were sticky. The toilets filthy, the food is basically pub grub and the whole place is grubby. Also, in this era of reducing single use plastic, all condiments come in small plastic sachets. Come on Konnigans, this is not good. Get some bottles of sauces and vinegar! And clean the place. I had chips, but will never return as I felt grubby leaving there

Was able to get a table without booking. The staff were attentive but the lighting was a bit dodgy, the menu was okay but not prepared expertly. How much onion can one have on a chicken fajita?

Our 10th anniversary there. It's very corky and relaxing. Love it !

Ordered a Sunday roast, it took 45 minutes to arrive, then finally when it did arrive the food was freezing cold. The waitress did apologise and took the food back. When it returned 15 minutes later again it was not much warmer and as it had been reheated it was very dry. Not great and we were both over even wanting it. The staff did apologise but not a great food experience!

Food always fresh and delicious, Hóng 4 starts because the wait can be long and they are always short staff.

Simply fantastic breakfast. Highly recommended. The staff were great and accommodated our needs superbly.
