Mirage Steak Restaurant in Redbridge

The Priya I know would know how to make cauliflower 65 but the Priya of Newbury Park isn’t so sure. Be prepared to be disappointed dearly by Priya. Good value though.

Ordered chicken kothu , dosa and mutton roll. It’s utter waste . Chicken kothu has no taste , no salt or spices or anything. Paper roast is over cooked in some part and under cooked in some part , horrible taste, mutton rolls has no taste or salt , even frozen rolls are much better than here. They have another restaurant in Eastmam they are okay that’s why I ordered here and they spoiled entire our dinner time.

I ordered Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani which was average , decent taste but the authenticity was missing .Good wider menu options at a decent price list . Staff Nisha & Akila are warm and hospitable . They are service friendly and deserve credibility for their service. Ambience is good with the refurbishment , have seen days when it's busy from the outside . Overall a decent place , the friendly service would entice me to visit again .

Ordered for takeaway from the new Priya restaurant. Good service and good packaging of the food. Every item had a decent quality and taste but the chilli chicken had a bit too much spice to it. Other than that all was good. 9/10

I visited your new restaurant in Newbury Park for a takeaway. I gave the waiter my order and he had difficulty understanding me and got my order wrong. I ordered a garlic mutton curry and tried to tell him that I didn't want any bone and a pilou rice. What he brought out was a mutton curry the ticket  stated no bone and a garlic mutton curry  boiled rice. He took the mutton curry away and I decided to keep the boiled. I paid for what received. When I got the curry home it was full of bones, the curry itself was very tasty so no complaints there. This was my first visit to your new restaurant so it didn't leave a good impression and hope the next visit will be better.

This is not a Turkish restaurant, I think the food is off the frozen section from the local cask and carry. And over priced drinks.

We wanted a Turkish restaurant but what we got was far from it. It was ridiculously expensive and some of the meat products were off. Very poor experience and it ruined the triple celebrations we came for.

Went for a surprise meal for my sister's 70th birthday. Food was really lovely and freshly cooked. It was very good value, portion sizes were exceptional. The service we cannot fault, friendly and accommodating, they even opened the restaurant for us as normally they are closed on a Tuesday at the moment. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Had to come away for work. Long story short on the back end of a 16 hour day absolutely starving hungry we found this little gem. The food was awesome and the hospitality of the owner was second to none I would seriously advise if in the area give it a go. Really lovely people

A warm welcome, attentive and accommodating host (invited child to order off menu and various waiting staff asking how things were throughout our visit) in a contemporary and clean environment. Every dish was delicious and the complimentary pitta breads with garlic butter and humus was a nice touch and a favourite with the whole family. An excellent choice of a restaurant - I would thoroughly recommend it.

Absolutely fabulous , had the best night ever the waitstaff couldn’t do enough for us . Definitely give this a try couldn’t recommend more . Great value for your money food fabulous

went last night and really enjoyed it. the tables looked clean and attractive. had chicken kiev could not fault it and partner had the duck - he said one of the best he has had and we have eaten all over the country and continent - would liked to have tried a dessert but could not manage it. service was attentive without being in your face - will definitely return. returned tonight afterlock down - this place is definitely not what it was. staff pleasant enough but menu shorter - ordered steak and while it was tender very little flavour. only the 2 of us in the restaurant and the cauliflower cheese was forgotten. saute potatoes were more like chips. when the previous owners had it the place was buzzing not now. will not return there are better places . peter h

The Mirage is a restaurant when once visited you want to go back again and again. There is always a friendly welcome when you arrive and even with the table layout meeting current regulations the restaurant still feels cosy. The menu caters fot all tastes from Turkish dishes, fish and various steaks to mouth watering starters and desserts. The food, whatever the choice, is always delicious and well presented. There is a comprehensive drinks menu that includes soft drinks and water is provided at the table. With the current restrictions it's always best to phone and book especially if it's for a full table of 6. If you haven't been before The Mirage is well worth a visit but they do currently close at 10pm in accordance with current regulations so best to go early.

I visited yesterday evening as a treat, as I haven’t eaten at Mirage since before lockdowns. The food was fantastic - my Fillet Mirage steak and the sides were delicious and very generous portions. The service was great and the owner is really friendly so it was lovely speaking to him also! Hopefully will be able to go back soon!

Had a takeaway mixed shish, the meat was so over cooked and had little flavour. Salad was just chopped iceburg lettuce and the bread was shop bought pitta. Much better Turkish food around and wouldn't go back

Went in not sure what to expect. The new owners were very friendly and welcoming. Showed us to our table, drinks were served straight away. Food was excellent. Had duck, delicious, but as I was eating mine the next tables food arrived. The t-bone steak looked amazing so will be returning to give it a try.

It was an experience of 2 extremes. The service was fantastic, staff were excellent. However the food was awful! I ordered a mixed grill priced at £17. It was bland, no flavour, tasted soooo bad. I noticed all staff were Asians....so Turkish food delivered by Asians....it doesn't work!!

We booked a table last week. The table was booked for 8 pm and we arrived on time. No one came to our table to take the order for good 25 minutes. The starters we disgusting and came very dry and covered with some old lettuce. Nothing fresh. No sources served with food. Normally in a Turkish restaurant we get Turkish bread, salads and different sources. They saved some microwaved pitta bread with some butter. Then I mentioned to the waitress and she brought some cheap chilli source with our main. The maIn was bearable and nothing worth for the price. On top of everything my son had diarrhoea for the whole night. When we asked for the bill they took 30 minutes to bring the bill and their card machine was not working. We had to go outside to get the cash to pay the bill. The new management is terrible, before it was a highly recommended nice restaurant not any more. We wasted our time and money. Never go there again.

We have been eating here for over 7 years and it’s always been amazing quality and value, we had a bad meal last December and put it down to a one off, another bad meal in February and put it down to being unlucky, just got back from another bad meal and now must admit the new management have ruined the place, they have cut back on quality and made cost cuts everywhere. White wine tasted like gasoline so sent it back then charged £4 for half pint of lager!!!! I always ordered the T bone which they were famous for, the T bone is now half the size it used to be but charge the same price. My wife ordered filet steak which was not filet, the ‘peppercorn sauce’ was gravy with some peppercorns in it (disgusting). Final insult, we wanted to leave so asked for the bill then waited 20 minutes to receive it, then waited another 10 minutes to pay and eventually had to walk up to the bar and pay. First time eating at Mirage without leaving a tip. So sad to say goodbye to Mirage we had a good run but sadly we won’t be going back.

I spoke to the manager on the phone me asked if it was halal, he token me it was halal, I booked a table, came in on my time and was told I had to wait as my table to was booked. I couldn’t s no halal signs on the restaurant so I confronted the manager. I was told by him that they not advertise their food as halal which is very weird. I the. Ordered fish and believe me it was one f the worst meals of my life. Would never recommend this restaurant, just go the McDonald’s opposite for a better meal.

Tried the mirage on 26/8 on the off chance of a table, what a find Party of 5 contractors all really enjoyed the food snd service I had a starter and main from the blackboard specials Gratinated mussels and lamb forestier in crezm and brandy sauce absolutely Excellant recommend this freindly restaurant and will certainly eat here again if in the area.

It was a very quality and highly rated restaurant before the pandemic but with the new Management it was terrible.I went with my Mrs and ordered starters. Not fresh. Also when I ordered Turkish bread , they brought some microwaved pitta bread . I think you can buy these from any shop. Not visiting again and dont waste your money and time. If you really want to enjoy the Turkish food there are plenty of restaurants around Ilford who serve proper Turkish food.

This is not a turkish restaurant as advertised. Very basic menu, which includes steak, veal, (which were not nice) and a pasta dish. Once you order you get free pitta bread with garlic butter, no salad, no dips. Food presentation not good.Customer service not good. Would not eat here again. Very disappointed.

Read reviews and have always driven/walked past this restaurant so we thought we'd finally try it out last night.. They gave complimentary naan bread with garlic butter. The naan bread was shop bought. We ordered the lamb steak in mushroom sauce with French fries as sides.. The French fries were clearly shop bought. The lamb steak... That was the worst steak I've ever had. There was absolutely no flavour on that steak.. No seasonings.. All they did was throw on some mushroom sauce. It left me feeling sick all night. We were then overcharged for the steak. £2 extra than what was written on the menu and it was only when my husband pointed it out that they rectified it.

I liked my meal here. I thought the food was tasty and good value. The staff were cheerful and attentive. My lamb was flavourful and succulent. The 2 friends I was with enjoyed their food too. Happy to go back.

This establishment was chosen for a good friend’s surprise dinner. With this the restaurant was catering for a party of at least 30. This restaurant is advertised as a high rated establishment.? Also advertised as a Turkish restaurant There was no front of house to co ordinate anything, no bread, no dips . First course was not what i would have expected, the prawn cocktail was some pre sauce with some old lettuce with some prawns underneath, clearly not fresh . The main i opted for was the Sea Bass, usually a safe bet, this particular time i feel that the course was over expensive for the fish, which clearly was not fresh and was extremely rubbery, the sauce was bland and watery, i sent it back, and should have left but remember , we were there for a friend. The salad was day old , The desert of pancakes was also sent back to the kitchen as it was cold, and then when it came back was crispy after it had been microwaved . Drinks are west end prices with water @4 pounds All in all not a good dining experience. The company i was with was the only reason i stayed. The quality of the food does not reflect the prices being charged. The service was very haphazard, although the staff were pleasant ,when i queried how something was cooked they were not sure ?

Been going to this restraunt for many years but haven't been since the new owners took over. Really welcoming staff excellent steak meal for me my wife and son . This restraunt really deserves local support in this terrible time....pay them a visit it's really worth it. Well done at the mirage...see you again....

I've just been there with my friend to celebrate my birthday, I had a T-Bone my friend had sirloin, the chef took out the horns and 2 of the biggest steaks I've ever seen came out of the kitchen, absolute top quality meat. This was also cheaper than the steakhouse round the corner and 4 times the size. Jason and his Dad and the staff top hosts, was a perfect evening can't recommend the place enough. Well done top job!

Hadn’t been here for quite a while and was shocked to find that the owners I had known for over 20 years had sold up! The new owner,like so many do, had put changes in place which detracted from how good the place had been. Quality of the food had definitely gone into decline! It was ok but only ok when judged on what it used to be.

Booked for Valentine's night dinner. This restaurant is no longer a Turkish restaurant its serves nor the food tasted anything Turkish obviously the name has remain the same but its now run by Asian. Very tasteless food the standard has really fallen. Left very disappointed. Bring back the original owners.

Went here for my Dads 81st Birthday on Sunday. Food sub standard we ordered the roast dinner . Tough beef frozen potatoes of which we got one, luke warm gravy . Desert was apple crumble not home made frozen again .We wont be going back ....AVOID !

We used to go there all the time before the management changed. But after the new people took over the business has gone down. Even though they try to copy the same menu, it doesn’t taste good like before. It taste horrible. Very unhealthy with so many rats running around at the back of the restaurant. Disgusting. The new management tried pizza, but that also no use. They should handover to old management & keep away from this reputed restaurant. Never again to this disgusting restaurant.

Visited this restaurant for a family meal on New Years Day. No complaints about the service, however the food was sub standard. Bland congealed sauces to go with over cooked steaks, watery luke warm sea bass with no flavour and floating in a wishy washy tomato sauce, chewy chicken kebabs, the list goes on. New management needs to sack the chef and start again. Would not recommend this restaurant.

We have been visiting this restaurant for as long as I can remember (15 years +)We use it along with other members of my family for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries etc. Having not visited for some time we thought a pre Christmas visit would be a perfect start to the festive season. On entering the restaurant it was immediately clear that the restaurant was no longer being run by the same family which had run it all the time we had been going there. Very apprehensively we ordered from what appeared to be an identical menu. Unfortunately that’s where the similarities ended. My partner ordered steak Diane which arrived with a sauce of which was a tomato based with shreds of onion in it. I queried this with the waitress saying this was the wrong meal and she said that it was steak Diane. No brandy, no cream, I don’t think so. I don’t know who the chef is now but it’s definitely not one of the ones that worked there previously under the original owners. My pepper sauce was not a reduced sauce and was glutinous so was obviously made with a powder based product and contained no peppercorns whatsoever, very bland. The previous sauce was a rich creamy sauce with crushed peppercorns in it.The steaks were at best half the size of when the previous owners were in charge.Unfortunately this will be our last visit to what was one of our favourite places to eat. On a positive note I must say the couple now running the restaurant are lovely and friendly but unfortunately the food which is the most important part is no longer a patch on how it used to be.Jason, please please grab your dad and come back and restore our favourite restaurant back to its former glory

Looks like it under new management

I have lived in the area for decades, but visited for the first time this past weekend, and I have to say, I really liked the experience. The food is well done, being tasty and has a different taste to others. The owner is very hospitable and great to speak to. I would definitely be visiting again to try different dishes.

Our family always want to go here for birthday celebrations. The fillet steak mirage, chicken mirage and lamb mirage are always the favourites. The manager is always welcoming, service is excellent, and the atmosphere relaxed.

Have been a few times with different people, including a staff Christmas party. I was impressed with them at the party as due to the number of people involved the choice was quite varied, service good and everyone pretty much got their meal at the same time. At other times when I have been with friends, the portions have been huge. Good family run restaurant although I believe it is now under new management and they have started doing pizzas!

Although we’ve lived nearby for many years we don’t really eat out locally, but having parents visiting gave us an excuse to try Mirage, which people had recommended to me a number of times.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 35 years and it’s always brilliant. And it’s still excellent food now that Mura has taken over.

Delicious steak!! Even my aunt who is SO SO fussy about how her steak is cooked couldn't complain!! She was gushing about it for ages after!! Staff polite/attentive/friendly they took very good care of us. Bit expensive but would definitely come back!!

We had a wonderful Set Sunday lunch menu yesterday. There was a big choice of 3 courses at £18.95. The portions were big and the food was delicious. The decor is lovely and has a warm feeling and the owner was charming. The title “steak restaurant” is a bit misleading as they do many other dishes. Couldn’t fault it and will be going back very soon for sure.

So sad to see a place like this go down hill. I went for a steak and it was absolutely horrendous. Worst thing ever from a place i considered as one of the best around. Staff was totally different maybe new owners not sure. Really sad to see this happen.

My parents celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary by inviting a party of just over 30 people for an a la carte Sunday Lunch to the Mirage, which we have frequented many times in the past and have always been very happy with the food and service. This occasion was made even more special by the exceptional quality of the food and excellent service we received from the staff. Despite serving over 30 people, all of the meals were hot and cooked to perfection. My parents were completely happy with their celebration and have said on several occasions that they couldn’t have wished for more from the Mirage.

We had a Diamond Wedding celebratory lunch at The Mirage yesterday. Everything was wonderful. Food and service excellent. It was a very special occasion made all the better by The Mirage. Very highly recommended.

Service was fantastic! Steak, the chips, the onions, the sources all sublime. The Turkish adana, tender lamb. Was given free shot of Jameson whiskey 🥃

Me and my family visited Mirage last Sunday having not been for a few years (was always one of our favourites) and we were really impressed. The food was great with large portions. The service was fantastic, would definitely recommend.

We have been going to this restaurant for many years and always had fantastic evening meals. Today however we went to celebrate a 95th birthday and was so pleased that the new owner now opens for lunch.

We have been going to this restaurant for 30 years. Run by a wonderful family with great portions, wide variety of food and fantastic service. Went for the first time in a year and very disappointed. It has sadly changed hands. Owner tries his best, has kept the same menu, but quality nowhere near. Average steaks instead if original big juicy quality cuts. Don't think we will go back

The food quality was terrible, was not worth the amount they charged. Took too long to get our food, people around us were getting their food despite ordering a while after. We left before our mains came but from what we saw the portions were not worth the price whatsoever. You would think for portions that small we would’ve gotten our food faster. Definitely would not be returning save yourself and your wallet the disappointment.

This restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, but most importantly great tasting food. Everytime I've been to Mirage I always leave satisfied, they have very generous and polite service there, the prefect place for a late night dinner

We have been coming back to this restaurant for about 15 years and always had great food. But unfortunately it seems to gone down hill a bit after our visit last night. We was a party of 10 and we found that the steaks was a lot thinner than they used to be. The order was messy because we did not get the steaks cooked as we was asked. Forgetting when we asked for certain things. Desserts was a small portions. The owner did compensate on the bill. But I would rather had better service and food like we have had in the past.

We went to this restaurant with family and friends, the atmosphere was great, the waitresses were very attentive. We had the pre Christmas menu, this was very competitively priced, and had a great selection for everyone, The food come out quickly, and there was no issues with the food, the food was good quality and delicious.

I arrived quite late, on my own, and was immediately shown to a table. All of the staff were extremely friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Mushrooms for starters were excellent. I then had lamb shich with chicken as the main course. Both meats were extremely juicy, and laid perfectly on a bed of rice that was cooked just right. The chilli sauce that was brought out wasn't just got, it was full of flavour. Over all, as a tired old man, who had gone in just to get a bite to eat, I was given a real treat. If I'm worki. G in this area again, I will definitely be back.
