Great food, but ordering at the bar takes time, not enough staff. Otherwise great place.

My husband and I came here to meet up with old work colleagues. There were 8 of us in total. 6 of us went up to the bar to order their food, and my husband used the app to order our food. It took 30 minutes for the first plate to appear at the table, and then the rest came, individually about every 5 minutes apart. One woman was allergic to cheese, so she stated NO cheese on her food, and it arrived covered in cheese (so after waiting for 30 minutes, hers had to be returned to the kitchen)! The actual food itself was acceptable, but nothing special. I had fish and chips , with a side of BROWN bread (photographed), and my husband had a large burger ( which I didn't get to photograph of). His burger was held together with a wooden fork instead of a wooden skewer, which obviously broke the burger up! We had chocolate fudge cake for dessert, which obviously had been warmed up in a microwave for too long, as it was very dry. We will not come back to this pub to eat again. The only upside of it was meeting old friends!

Great family place to eat. Food was tasty, hot and presented well. Staff were excellent and very helpful. And a reasonable price which was refreshing. Would recommend.

Friend treated me to lunch here and found it lovely, food was great lots of variety and very nice staff. Even took the wife the other day and she liked it too. Reasonable price too. Will book our Christmas meals 😊 thank you 😊

My family and I visited The Old Maypole for a family gathering, we wasn't disappointed, the food was 10 out of 10, the staff were exceptional, especially the lovely young lady called Summer she couldn't do enough for us, we felt like we were in a 5 star restaurant with the service we received. Antonio and Summer were great hosts, they are a credit to ur company, I will definitely recommend to my family and friends to visit!

Best karaoke night iv had in years. Brilliant atmosphere and brilliant singers.

I find the old maypole. A good place. To end on after a day's work the staff are welcoming and the manager has changed the way the pub now looks outside now more welcoming. And the bar staff are very friendly and helpful. To name few summer kate adam to name a few.

Have visited the pub many, many times and can't say a bad word! The staff is absolutely amazing always there to keep us happy and helpful when needed. Last few months the place have improved tremendously the food is wicked and atmosphere just right!! Would recommend for anyone who wants to have a good night out. Thanks guys! Especially Summer

My partner and I had a great meal at The Old Maypole yesterday. Both our meals were delicious and excellent value. The portion size, presentation and very helpful waitress were first class. Highly recommended.

Absolutely terrible service no staff is around the main area for help and there's no table number to order food. The waiting time is also despicable as we waited over 40 minutes for the most disappointing and bland meal I've ever eaten. NOT only is all of this more than enough reason to never go here again but I also can't help but point out our order didn't even show up together and we waited an additional 20 minutes for drinks we had to go up and get ourselves

Great pub with excellent service! Ben is super chatty and adds a friendly vibe to the place. The food is always hot and tasty, and they have a fantastic selection of cold beers. Highly recommend for a relaxed night out!

I came here with some friends. We got some food which was good and beer portions were quite nice. Garden is quite big, shame outside TV did not work but was ok :)

We have been in the maypole a few times and enjoyed our meals and staff are really helpful

We were invited to a 50th birthday party tonight .There were two bouncers on the door .As you would expect they were asking people if they had been invited to the party. All I can say I have never known such an appalling way he spoke to myself and my partner. .Such bad customer service to speak to guests It was a rude and abrupt interrogation. I felt ao awful .The slim tall bouncer was fine. It was the large bouncer on the door . .

Awfull experience! I went there yesterday around 5 pm and after drinking and eating,around 7 pm security comes to me to take the cap off! 👎👎👎

Great food at an incredible price. Great value mid-week for lunch. We had different dishes all good.

Had 2 gammon meals for £11.75 lunch deal. Came up quickly and the Gammon was tasty, generous portions. Service was good. Pub has had a refurbishment recently and looked fresh and clean. Nice garden out the back too.

Reservation made a few days in advance but on arrival found no table reserved. Had to find seats for ourselves. Went to bar to order food and waited over 10 minutes with bar staff totally ignoring me until I shouted at one who then took my order. Only other complaint was people openly smoking drugs in garden area.

Fabulous place for dinner. Popped in last Wednesday for dinner and the staff were all very polite, friendly and most of all helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. Food were good sizes and tasty, not to mention very reasonable!! If you want a good meal at affordable prices choose this place over the Tollgate!!

Absolutely appalling service today. We came in at 17 on Sunday to dine in. Paid for our food at around 17 30. One person at our table received their food. The rest of us still waiting for food at 19:00. Will not come back again. So upsetting!

I had the most delicious salmon. It was one of the nicest meals that I have every had at the venue. the staff are very helpful and the manager is always very welcoming. I would definately recommend a visit. It certainly has the feelgood factor.

Went for food on Tuesday and was left disappointed.Food was horrible. It was cold and not what we asked for. The pub has been going down since the new menu! I will not be returning

A beautiful pub with really great tasting food! Came here for lunch with a friend and got the Tandoori Skewers and Party Time Sundae. All staff were super friendly and provided perfect service for us. 🌟 10/10 🌟 will definitely be coming back!

Lovely pub, staff were very rude and just stood and watched from the other bar while I waited for a drink, didn't serve me so had to walk through to the other bar while they collectively stood as a 4 talking between themselves (place was empty). Ordered food not as pictured. It appeared that they had run out of meat and just added extra salad and chips. When questioning the female bar manager she was abrupt and finally changed my order. When my second choice arrived it was lovely and and just as the menu picture. Over all an up and down experience.

When I ordered dessert it took over an hour to arrive and even then I had to ask where it was twice not good enough sorry

Waited over a hour for our food when asked how much longer I was told we are very busy its now been 1 hour and 20 minutes still no food

Fantastic food and service. Restaurant busy due to Football but food came out quick and hot. Girls behind the bar were friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful with our group of cocktail lovers! Cocktails were also very well presented. Love this place, such a great local. 🌟

My grandson absolutely loves coming here, give him choice of anywhere to go and he'll choose here. Adam was a fabulous sever, polite and an all round great guy. Food was amazing as always. Highly recommended

Marley was absolutely fantastic, she’s always so polite whenever we go in and always pleasant to speak too. I have to admit she’s great with my autistic son Joshua when we come in. Oh and as always the food is on point. Never a bad word to say about the service, food or environment

Unfortunately I have to change my review. I always loved coming here however the new menu doesn't cater for vegetarians. The beyond beef burger was one of the only reasons I went here. They have changed this to a falafel burger.....who the hell wants a falafel burger ......bring back the beyond beef 🍔 burger

Great venue to watch the football, had some nice food and drinks all served by friendly staff.

I've been a local for 30 years. Use to love the kareoke nights on Thursdays and disco Fridays. Then the place was transformed into a restaurant and the best nights lost in the process. Now just a small bar round the side with a rough feel about it . The best of the locals have now moved on sadly 😥

Came here for food a few days ago. The atmosphere is great, as were the staff! Especially the day timers Summer and Kate, always smiley and happy to help. Never get less than perfect service from them. We got the Rib & Rump and they were cooked perfectly. Dessert Sundaes were also delicious and well presented. 10/10 as always. 🌟🤩

A really nice and newly renovated pub with delicious food and quick service. Prices are reasonable, portions and selection of beer are big. It’s very spacious as well. I am giving 4 stars due to my salad tasting like cleaning product, everything else was quite yummy.

Never a dull moment in this pub! Staff are absolutely friendly, welcoming and accommodating for me and my partner. Due to my husband being Irish (from Dublin) he is often made to feel bad and ashamed when out in pubs in England, but this is one of our favourite places to drink. Not to mention, it's only up the road! Never a bad experience here.
