I visited with a friend for a pre booked, three course dinner to celebrate my birthday and see Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland. ( Fabulous!). This was my first visit. The hall is beautiful and huge. We were seated at a table by a pillar with uplighting. Not good for my friend’s migraine. We asked to move and were. There was some confusion about all our details coming with us but all fine. My starter was crab cakes. Three tiny patties, fine for a starter, but I could taste everything but crab. The Waldorf Salad was mainly apple with a few bits of celery and leaves and the patties tasted predominantly of lemon. My main was Crispy Gressingham Duck. It wasn’t. The skin was soggy and the duck over cooked. With salad and a side of potatoes swimming in garlic butter. In the first interval dessert was a deconstructed apple crumble of sorts. Nice, but weirdly dry and a bit bland. The hall is beautiful but, on the ground floor area, you are seated alongside the busy bar area. Very noisy and bustling. The service was great, but overall I didn’t think our meal, at that standard of cooking, plus a bottle of wine was worth over £100 a head.

Maybe go for the cosy tables. Go even for the coffee. But don’t go for the service (it’s variable and sometimes borderline disinterested). Don’t go for the menu (it’s extremely limited). Don’t go for the prices; they are surprisingly high for what you get. I give this 3 stars because its nice to be in WH and the coffee and atmosphere are generally good. If you do go, avoid lunch/dinner. Brunch is the best bet. In short, HAM showed a lot of potential when it opened, but the overwhelming impression now is that they just don’t care that much.

Perfect spot for drinks after a long day at work. Excellent, fast and friendly service. Lovely atmosphere also! We didn’t intend to stay for dinner as well, but we did! The food was delicious especially the karaage chicken starter to share! Highly recommend. We will def be back again! Our new favourite spot in High Street Kensington

After a long day shopping in Bromley, my friend and I were looking forward to some fish and chips and decided to check out The Partridge Pub. This was actually my first time inside, despite having lived in Bromley my whole life, and I was excited to finally try it. We even went as far as asking one of the younger staff members for her honest opinion about their fish and chips. She hadn’t tried it herself but told us it had good reviews, which reassured us that we’d made a solid choice. Once seated, my friend and I began checking out the menu, debating on whether to add a starter or maybe even a dessert. Just as we were getting comfortable, an older man from the staff abruptly approached us with zero greeting or warmth and, without any pleasantries, bluntly asked, “Do you two have ID?” The lack of any kind of courtesy caught us off guard right away. There was no “Hello” or “How are you”—just a cold question about ID. I politely explained that I didn’t have my physical ID with me, but I could show him a photo of it, since I am 25. My friend, who is 28, had her passport, which was only expired by a week. Instead of offering any understanding, he immediately shut us down, saying he wouldn’t accept it. His tone was dismissive and even slightly aggressive, which made the situation feel needlessly confrontational. We were taken aback because we hadn’t even walked up to the bar yet and had no plans to order any alcohol—we were there simply to enjoy a meal. This detail seemed to make no difference to him, as he seemed unwilling to listen or show any understanding whatsoever. After a few awkward exchanges, it was clear he wasn’t interested in accommodating us, so we decided to leave. This whole encounter left a really sour taste, and we ended up feeling as though we weren’t welcome. It’s sad, especially when so many pubs are built on warm hospitality and creating a welcoming environment for customers, whether they’re regulars or new faces. The Partridge Pub unfortunately fell short in every way when it came to customer service. It’s unfortunate that such a promising evening ended in such a disappointing way. If this is the level of service they offer to potential new customers, I can’t imagine recommending The Partridge to anyone looking for a friendly and enjoyable experience. We ended up going elsewhere and having a lovely meal, but it’s a shame that we had to go through this negative experience first.

We regularly use the hand and racquet during the week and just wanted to say how great our night was. We tried couple of sweet fruity ciders which were really good. I found the passion fruit martini flavour a little too sweet but my friend couldn't get enough. The olympics was on the telly but not overly loud or annoying. Love this pub!
