This glorious pub is in the heart of Hampstead neighbourhood, surrounded by greenery and on a very narrow street that discourages cars to go fast (and even to enter!). Great for people watching, with the sun hitting your face until sunset - believe it’s set towards the South, which makes the evenings enjoyable outside on the terrace and sometimes on the curbside if it’s super busy. A bit of a wait for the bar, but really it’s so packed, give the staff some grace if you’re coming for a pint only - they work super hard!

Well...we are local but have not been for 2 years after a series of disasters. But tonight we re-tried and were rewarded with an excellent evening. Absolutely charming and genuine French maitre d looked after us flawlessly. The food was EXCELLENT! It's a great feeling when your local restaurant delivers. ..my friends were from Fulham and Putney and they were very impressed.

We went to the Blue Boar for Sunday roast, and were extremely disappointed. The service was fine, but the quality of the food was very sub-par. The Yorkshire pudding was so overcooked it was hard as a rock and tasted burnt. Product this overcooked should have been thrown out rather than served. The roast beef was very gristly and fatty. At least 25% of the roast beef serving was inedible fat and gristle. The roast beef was also overcooked. It was our understanding the Blue Boar was known for their Sunday roast, but our experience was just plain bad.

Enjoyed a great late lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. So many nice things on the menu & we opted for the deep fried brie, mixed kebab with salad & Tzatziki instead of rice & moussaka. Great prices & friendly staff too. They do a set menu as a cheaper alternative but the al a carte prices were very reasonable. Would recommend & would eat here again, & not a hen party in sight :-)

What a pleasant surprise to discover this gem. Inviting deco, charming garden on a sunny day and the steak and ale pie was well made even though the cabbage was blanched but not char-grilled as written on the menu. Prices are reasonable compared to Richmond.

My friends and I went to the pub quiz on Tuesday at Effa Social for the first time and it was the most lively (and challenging) pub quiz we’ve done in London! Expect fun musical interludes, lots of laughs and the friendliest community. Big shout out to Alfie Evers who is a stellar host and cultivates an incredible atmosphere.

I can't really say much about the atmosphere since it's a quick place to go to a franchise coffee shop, but the weather was so cold that I enjoyed the chocolate latte. If I hadn't eaten, I would have been held up for a long time because of the curfew for the King's birthday event. I almost froze to death.
