The best restaurants serving British food in London

Hello, when I made a reservation, I asked for cosy table for 2. I understood, that it’s not guarantee. So when we arrived, the waitress led us to a table near a very narrow passage. When someone walked through, they basically almost touched us. But it’s okay. There was one table near us, which looked more comfortable. We asked waitress if we can seat here instead, and she said it’s a table for 3(it is not, because later only 2 guests were seating here). Okay. when a table for 2 near us became available, we asked again. And the waitress said she needs to check. I asked what is the difference? You cannot guarantee a curtain table, this table is for 2, why we cannot sit here at enjoy the rest of the evening. She went to speak to manager. We asked another waitress and explained that we actually asked for cosy table and understood that basically you allocated to us opposite, very loud and uncomfortable table. At the end they allowed us to change a table, but the evening was ruined. When we received the bill, we were surprised that you included £1 charity without asking us. My husband is a concierge and my friend is a manager in high street saloon. They both found it unprofessional and ridiculous. Basically, you showed to us how you do not care if we will come again or not. Noted.

We had a lovely time at Pilots, the food was fantastic. Service at the start was slightly slow however everything else was amazing!

Nuestro grupo de amigos disfrutó mucho de nuestra comida aquí. La comida era innovadora, pero respaldada por técnicas de cocina clásicas y seguras. Un entrante de maíz dulce en pasta con hongos silvestres en un caldo de pollo caliente estaba delicioso. Mi jefe de venado mostró técnicas tradicionales y estaba igualmente bien. La langosta fue descrita como excelente por otros en el grupo. Mi esposa disfrutó de un postre de chocolate, aunque el “bizcocho de bellota” que yo y otro comensal comimos fue decepcionante. Difícil de comer y realmente no vale la pena el esfuerzo. Pero esto fue solo un chasco en una comida por lo demás estupenda. El ambiente de “vela de mesa + iluminadores tenues” no era, nos pareció, práctico. ¡Tuvimos que sacar nuestras antorchas para leer el menú! Sin embargo, el servicio en general fue genial, con especial ayuda a uno de nuestros partidos que tenía problemas de movilidad, por lo que las notas completas para eso. En general, una velada muy agradable.

The man who shows people to the table is absolutely disgusting. He smells of B.O and reeks of cigarettes and his fingernails are filthy I went in thinking “oh my god” and was glad when it was not him serving us, but as he kept coming beind where we were sitting we could smell him and left without finishing our meal I emailed harvester and had the reply we will now email the management at Morden to tell them ( he was the manager so I doubt he will care) Bad service all round, avoid go somewhere else in future

So we went to have breakfast with Santa and what can I say it was absolutely brilliant!! The decor and all the little details ! They thought of it all. It was calm not rushed Santa interaction with the kids was brilliant! Can not wait to book for next year! Thank you so much !

We visited on christmas eve ..wasn't very busy, we had a couple of cocktails which seamed to take forever to make.. the barman had to look at instructions on what to put in to the cocktail .so must be rare for them to make a cocktail wasn't good either was very strong ...its a nice pub definatly not a cocktail bar 😀..

Not welcome if you just want a drink on deck. We called on a Monday lunchtime for a bottle of wine on their empty deck but were turned away by the manager who said they were only accepting reservations. The indoor section was also virtually empty. We went instead to the nearby Tattershall where the wine was cheaper, nicer and deck was much more comfortable. Shame as we had been customers of the Hispaniola for many years.

Everything was perfect: the food was exquisite, the service impeccable, and the ambiance cozy and inviting. Each dish was a masterpiece, cooked to perfection. An unforgettable experience that I highly recommend to everyone.

Reservamos un té de la tarde para el cumpleaños especial de un amigo. Rellené el formulario en el sitio web y recibí una respuesta por correo electrónico diciendo que el Wine Lounge no estaba disponible, pero la Eastway Brasserie estaba disponible. Tuvimos una maravillosa visita el domingo por la tarde. Servicio atento, tetera y tazas encantadoras y buena comida. También había especificado requisitos dietéticos como parte de mi intercambio de correo electrónico (vegetariano, sin gluten y sin lactosa) y tuvieron todo eso en cuenta en la comida servida.

We found the Raven to be a nice surprise while we were staying nearby. Cozy: it has two fireplaces and a resident cat and dog. We did find the price of a pint by one rather high, but then we were lucky enough to arrive on a Tuesday evening: they have a special for £35, two pizzas, a side, and a bottle of house wine. The food was particularly good, served to us by the chef himself. Previous reviews mention different food options as well as Thai, but in its current state it is a pizza pub with kind service and comfortable seating.

Great food great staff, Emma Louise was a great waiter and very attentive food was great and table cleared promptly would highly recommended

Not very friendly. Went in for a drink at 10.30 on Saturday night. Stood at the bar for 5 minutes. Was ignored by 3 members of staff, so left...

I had the most beautiful experience here. The manager Efe, was so professional, knowledgeable and kind. Aziza and Joe were so hospitable. Andy was amazing in the kitchen. Thank you for a beautiful experience

Stopped here for a bit of lunch and a pint after a run in the summer. Food was lovely had a jacket potato which came with a lovely side salad and grilled cheese on top. Will be returning!

I have eaten here many times and I have to say that was the best meal I have ever had here. It was hot, edible and showed there is someone who can cook in this place. Well done Josephine long may you stay as chef, then I will come back.
