The Fire Stables in City of London, Westminster

Well...we are local but have not been for 2 years after a series of disasters. But tonight we re-tried and were rewarded with an excellent evening. Absolutely charming and genuine French maitre d looked after us flawlessly. The food was EXCELLENT! It's a great feeling when your local restaurant delivers. ..my friends were from Fulham and Putney and they were very impressed.

Yet again an incredible meal. Beautifully presented; utterly delicious; great service. I honestly think it’s the best food in Wimbledon Village.

Fantastic food having chosen the daily specials. Excellent wine. Attentive service despite being a busy evening.

Lovely pub, in a great location. Service was subdued verging on hostile, food for some was inedible & returning full plates didn’t elicit a question from the server. We were never offered and refills, or any ask for coffee etc. They could have done so much better with bare minimum effort. So disappointed

We enjoyed a very tasty well cooked and seasoned sharing roast beef platter. Enjoyed by our dog, too! Fantastic! Had a spot on Paloma as an aperitif which set the scene. Will be back!

The BEST Sunday roast in London. Their pork belly is unmatched and the service is great, courtesy of Dev! Every time i’ve been here the staff have been so lovely and the food is like no other. You must come here for a roast!!

My partner and I had a wonderful experience at the Fire Stables for our post-partnership ceremony celebratory lunch. Everything was perfect, including the staff, food, atmosphere and service. We would highly recommend to anyone and look forward to visiting again very soon!

Great place for brunch, excellent service

We were there to celebrate my partner’s birthday. He’s wheat and gluten intolerant with a nut allergy so we have to be very careful where we eat. Options are usually limited for him but not at Fire stables! They were very accommodating and knowledgeable. The service, food, atmosphere and friendliness of the staff made the whole evening a really pleasant experience. We will definitely be going back.

Delicious Sunday roast, and friendly service from Dev, what's not to like!

Our group expanded to six people, plus big dog, and staff had taken the trouble to add an additional table to accommodate us. Water provided for Jasper (the dog) without having to ask. Delicious and plentiful roast dinners, fun atmosphere. Can be recommended.

Table for 10 on Mothers day. Very busy but still excellent service. Kids food came out first quickly which really helps followed by huge Sunday roasts for the adults. We had a great family meal. No room for pudding excepts the kids of course! Thank you.

Estaba muy decepcionado con la calidad de la comida, tres de nosotros comimos carne asada que era tan duro y masticable, que ninguno de nosotros podía comerlo. Mis patatas asadas eran duras como la roca. Era como si todo estuviera pre-cocido y luego re-calentado. Me sentí fatal por mi familia, ya que era mi sugerencia para venir aquí. Ni siquiera nos molestamos en quedarnos a comer pudín.

Dev served us today and was a great waiter. Very friendly and really enjoyed the food as well.

I ordered the “full English” from their brunch menu on a quiet Saturday afternoon. I did not want the tomato, hash brown, or piece of toast. Fair enough. But the serving size for everything else was so meagre. I don’t know how they’re charging £14 for this. They should be embarrassed.

On my first visit to Firestables I was most impressed and enjoyed the atmosphere and excellent food. The waitress Yiesha was friendly and helpful.

Had a very nice pork belly roast. But the kids had sausage and chips, they didn't finish them we thought they weren't hungry but took them home as a takeaway and the sausages were terrible

Food was good and atmosphere was pleasant. Staff are really friendly. Will defo be coming back for the lovely fish and chips (very filling) 👍🏿

Business team post training social. Great customer service. Admittedly it was a Monday night and not very busy. The food was very tasty. Plenty of choices for drinks. Yeisha was great in regards to information and booking. Her prompt replies and experience was polite and courteous. We would book here again.

Debo admitir que visité los Establos de Fuego por última vez hace mucho tiempo y esperaba una experiencia similar. Los Establos de Fuego habían sido un destino y se trataba más de la comida. El lugar era más comedor (mesas circulares) y un bar más pequeño. El actual Fire Stables es un pub de jóvenes con grandes mesas. Mi marido y yo fuimos recibidos y mostrados a una mesa aplastada por el rugby, hubiéramos pedido cambiar, pero solo quedaban 15 minutos, así que decidimos quedarnos. Nuestro amigo llegó 5 minutos después y se quedó de pie un rato en el escritorio, así que lo trajimos a la mesa nosotros mismos. La comida era buena, no diferente de cualquier otro lugar en cuanto a elección, pero bueno. La camarera era genial - servicial y bien informado. Los baños estaban mal - baños de pub que estaban casi limpios. ¡Estoy sorprendido de que haya inodoros como ese en estos días! Con todo, decepcionado. Le había preguntado a mi amigo mientras visita restaurantes semanalmente y sabía que no había estado - esperaba mostrarle dónde habíamos estado antes. En general, teníamos comida decente y un buen camarero. Si hubiera venido a un pub con un grupo de amigos y hubiera decidido comer mientras veía un partido, habría sido perfecto; lamentablemente no para nosotros en esta ocasión.

Great place, friendly staff. Huge Sunday roasts. Only criticism the beef was tough and the gravy tasteless. Now the gravy makes a roast for me. Nice vegetables. Loin of pork would make a nice change too on menus instead of pork belly.

A little out of my way, but this is still my local that feels like an extension of home. The staff are fantastic, always chatty, welcoming and bend over backwards for you. Anita, Sav, Lucy, Dev, Gus, Dan, Jose, Aisha, Ye to name but a few. The food I’ve had here over the years is great quality also.

Hi, a couple of friends and myself came in for a drink at the fire stables, just before Christmas and I've kept meaning to post a review, what a wonderful pub and lovely atmosphere it was. Not having been before, we were pleased we did. It's now our go to pub in the village to meet up.. we are all over 50 and the atmosphere suits us well, friendly staff and so comfortable too. We plan on coming along soon to try out the February set menu as it looks very nice indeed and with myself following a vegan diet, I was overjoyed there is so much choice. Cant review the food at present, as we've only had drinks so far.

Had a late lunch in the Firestables. Food was very good, it was warm inside and fire was on, and the fish finger sandwich and the chicken BLT sandwich were top notch. Service from Yiesha was great with everything being prompt and a very friendly approach.

Awful brunch and experience. - Don't bother and go somewhere else. We went there for brunch with our baby as we knew it would be quiet. The waitress was off putting from the get go, tall, dark hair, thick accent, scowl on her face, tattoos. I asked if it was possible for them to boil a few vegetables for my baby, some carrots and brocolli and she said in a very aggressive and argumentative way "No it's against policy" before I even finished asking. I had to leave and go buy him a pouch. Then we get the food which was SUB PAR to say the least, cheap tasteless produce, every single item tasted awful, and to top it off they serve MARGARINE instead of butter. When I asked the waitress why they don't do butter she said in a very aggressive and argumentative way "Well we have a lot of vegan dishes" hmm ok, but my meal is clearly not vegan. It's clearly cost cutting across all the food, a stupid choice when the competition is so huge in Wimbledon Village. We will never return to have food or drink there again.

A mixed review with great food, reasonable price and a great venue. However when we arrived we were just stood at the door for ages before the waiter shrugged and said "sit anywhere", he was insanely morbid throughout and we got sick of waiting to order desert and left. Apart from that the place could be a really good date spot.

We were delighted by their dog-friendly atmosphere; the staff even treated my pup to some roast beef. I've added it to my barguide.london site too!

Food was good but the service was terrible. We were there for lunch on Xmas Eve and I think they didn’t have enough staff. One of the starters never showed but by the time we got someone’s attention, we’d all finished our food. They never apologised. We had to ask for everything twice (water (for the table) and each time it was a pain trying to flag anyone down. No one came to clear our plates or replace cutlery without us asking. It was a shame as the food was good.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday there and it was absolutely beautiful; the decor, atmosphere and the food were just perfect. We will definitely come back again.

I guess they only had 1 person taking orders and serving so had to knock them a little food was excellent though had the haddock and chips

Went to the Fire Stables for the first time last night. Outstanding service - refreshing in the current day. Attentive, welcoming and knowledgeable. Good food, good atmosphere- would highly recommend and will be going back.

Our first ever Sunday roast dinner did not disappoint. After our tour of Wimbledon, hitting Fire Stables was a great choice to fill our bellies with wonderful, well cooked roast of chicken, beef and pork. The staff were very welcoming as we arrived a bit early than our reservation time and sat us right away. The atmosphere was really nice and cozy, even with the crying children at the table next to us. I would whole heartedly recommend to anyone and we will be looking for a place near us in the US that does a Sunday roast. Cheers

We recently organised a Christmas Social at the Fire Stables with 30 guests. Our event planner was Yiesha who took us through from our very first enquiry right through the event for which she was present. We felt very looked after and reassured given her experience and insightful recommendations. She was happy to accommodate different dietary requirements and tweaking of our drinks and sharing platter offer. Everyone had an amazing night. We would definitely recommend the Fire Stables.

Hosted 10 friends for pre-X’mas drinks and snacks. The service was fantastic even though they were really busy dealing with multiple large groups. The food was really good - much better than expected for party food. The chicken sliders were more the size of full burgers and the sausage rolls were really scrumptious. Highly recommend the venue.

It was busy with Christmas parties but we had great food & great service here still. Definitely recommend the baked camembert. Dev was a great waiter. We will be back

Very welcoming , attentive and friendly service and food all very good and much better than last visit a year or two ago . Pie stuffed with meat and the best sticky toffee pudding ever too. Good to have a really enjoyable meal rather than the all too frequent average one

The Sunday roast was delicious! The platter for 2 could have served up to 4 people! The meat fell off the bone and the sides were perfectly cooked. Great atmosphere and the kids enjoyed it as well.

We held an event for 40+ people here on a Saturday evening and the venue and service was amazing! Big thanks to Yiesha and her team for helping us with the organisation and food/drink orders. The food was lovely and the team on the ground, particularly Sav, were just so helpful making sure the space looked great and we had everything we needed. Would recommend!

We went for a Sunday lunch and were surprised at how great it was. Very generous portions with excellent meat, veg and gravy - potatoes weren't the best unfortunately. It's a nice atmosphere, busy without being too noisy. Service was mostly good, although sometimes took a while for people to come round. Probably a 4.5/5 rather than a 5, but good roasts in London can be very hard to find so we enjoyed it

Came in for lunch a few days ago and we were served by Yiesha. The food was lovely and Yiesha made sure we were happy the whole time, great service from her !! Will definitely be coming back
