I mistakenly thought breakfast was included as it wasn't offered during check-in. It wasn't a big deal, they said I could charge it to the room. We didn't have service, as it was a serve yourself buffet. We had some pastries, fruit, and tried some scrambled eggs. The fruit was good. Pastries were okay. The hot food was not our style. All in all, we were happy to have the fruit and coffee but not the $68 bill for food. We should have asked the price of the food before hand and that's on us. The restaurant itself was a nice location.

Standard fare but tends to get boring from day 2. No live stations. And same food every morning (no variation). Staff is excellent.

As guests of the DoubleTree Hilton, we went here with the expectation to pay and eat, but the manager, Mohammad, actually informed us that we had inclusive continental breakfast! We had already stayed for about five days when we learned and were very happy that the rest of our stay included this! Mohammad is awesome, incredibly kind, and very humble! The breakfast selection included most parts of a full English breakfast, some pastries, fruit, and a vast selection of coffee, teas, and drinks. The staff are incredibly courteous, professional, and will be there for your every need. The only non plus is they are only open for a short amount of time in the early morning which for non early birds is non ideal but overall amazing and great! We had another server Betty who as very funny and conversational! All staff there are great!

Reasonable selection of drinks in the lobby of the Doubletree hotel. As the kitchen closes early, it is difficult to get food if you arrive late at the hotel as i did.

While staying at the hotel we had breakfast here. Great selection of healthy options including cereal, pastries and fruit as well as the more traditional English Breakfast options. Tea coffee and juices available as well as an usual but clever self pancake making machine.

Stopped at the Double tree Hilton. Restaurant is situated on the ground floor very close to the centre of London, certainly walking distance to Houses of Parliament. Rooms excellent but review is about restaurant. Very clean buffet breakfast. Excellent!

We had Christmas diner here because we stay in the Doubletree hotel any many sites are closed this day. It felt like the staff had a day off and was replaced by inexperienced people. Service was not good, but the quality of the food was.Examples of bas service: table not cleaned, cutlery not placed before serving a meal, dessert served before main course was finished, etc.

this is attached to the doubletree so is convenient, but it is not cheap, and watch what time you go as it gets manically busy. The spread is good, the granola lovely, but they have to be sharp to keep everything topped up as they run out fast.

It was so delicious traditional English breakfast. The cafe was clean and comfortable and the staff was kind.

Das Frühstück ist einfach klasse, es kann allerdings in Stoßzeiten etwas dauern, bis man den Frühstücksraum, der City Café genannt wird, betreten kann. Dort gibt es wohl alles, was das deutsche Urlauberherz zum Frühstück begehrt: viele Sorten geschnittenenes Obst und Müsli, das man sich selbst mischen kann, Fruchtsäfte, Tee, Kaffee, Porridge (sehr sättigend, ideal, wenn man lange unterwegs ist), mehrere Sorten Konfitüre, Käse, Wurst und auch Nutella. Dazu wird Toast angeboten, süßes und herzhaftes Gebäck und last, but not least, das wohlbekannte full English breakfast. Wer will, kann den Morgen mit gebackenen Bohnen, Würstchen, gebratenem Speck, heißen Tomaten und Champignons und Kartoffel-Röstecken beginnen. Auch Rührei gab es, allerdings wohl nicht aus frischen Eiern, sondern eher aus einem Instantprodukt. Geschmeckt hat es trotzdem. Die Tische sind leider relativ klein für das aufgetischte Geschirr. Die Serviette liegt auf einem extra bereitgestellten Teller, was ich unnötig finde. Alles in allem ist es sehr sauber, appetitlich angerichtet, die Servicekräfte sind schnell, freundlich und aufmerksam. Als Hotelgast habe ich dort nichts zahlen müssen, aber ganz billig ist das Frühstück dort nicht, wenn ich nach der Karte gehe.

A great meal in the Doubletree, the food is well made and enjoyable, but expensive like most of London. Since there are few choices within a short walk, it is a good choice if staying in the hotel or at one of the nearby hotels.

I was so excited when i saw that they had waffles on the menu. Kind of tough to find in London far as I could see. The prices were ok for a hotel breakfast and the food was very good.

Äußerst freundliche Bedienung, sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war sehr gut, die Portionen jedoch für den hohen Preis etwas klein, aber das sind eben Hotelpreise. Am Hafen (ca. 5 min zu Fuß) kann man günstiger auch sehr sehr gut essen.

Das einzige, was man noch verbessern kann, ist das Rührei (den Reaktionen der Gäste um uns herum, überhaupt die Eierspeisen). Es war einfach nicht ganz durch, flüssig lief es an der Seite herunter. Das Buffet wird gut gepflegt, auch Gäste vom Kontinent finden alles, was das Herz begehrt.

숙박하던 숙소의 조식 카페이고 조식 포함이라 특별하게 가격부분은 잘 모르겠지만 사실 유럽의 조식에 그리 큰 기대를 하지 않는 편이기는 하지만 그렇다고 아침을 거르면 투어를 하거나 관광을 하는데 지장이 많기 때문에 여행와서는 더 일부러 아침을 꼭 챙겨먹는데 이곳의 조식은 특별히 기억에 남을 정도는 아니였지만 정갈하고 더블트리 특유의 간소하지만 소박한 매력으로 다가오는 그런 곳이다. 핫푸드가 조금 부족해서 실망스러웠지만 든든하게 아침을 시작할 수 있어 좋았습니다.

We were reminded three times that our breakfast was not included with our room. We know that, thank you. Portions were very small and we found it to be expensive for what you got.

Had breakfast here every day during my 3-night stay. Overall breakfast experience was exceptional! Morning staff were friendly, responsive and attentive. Special mention for Michel who remembers our favorite beverages and offers the same on our subsequent visits.

Good selection of food and some more unusual offerings much of the time. I love the pork & chorizo burger - a real winner! They serve food from breakfast through to dinner and it's a great place to grab something lighter if you are staying over for a few days.

Great Full Breakfast offered in the daily buffet which is complimentary depending on your Hilton Honors status. Porridge and a great variety of breads, pastries and fruit was available. If you leave hungry, it is truly your own fault.

We dined here a number of times whilst in London for the Ashes test at Lords. The breakfast range was very good, about as good as it gets. It appeared that the food available was quite fresh with an excellent range. The restaurant can be busy at peak periods, but due to the size can quite easily handle the patrons.Some of the wait staff can leave a tad to be desired, but all up very good.

The breakfast buffet is just your average buffet most Hotels offer. The difference here, I was offered cooked eggs on two mornings, I had eggs benedict which were rather nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed my start to the day in this Cafe.

There is an art in producing a buffet breakfast that tastes freshly made, but the City Cafe manages. I would have liked easier access to fried eggs though. I always hoped that my school days would be the end of scrambled eggs for me. Sigh. But the rest was very good.

had dinner at this restaurant on our first evening when staying at the Doubletrees at the Hilton Tower Bridge. The welcome was very warm and we were shown to a good table. Service and food was very good. We had two breakfasts in the restaurant with a good selection and everything was good. Hope to return

I attended the City Cafe with a party of 5 on a Saturday night for dinner. We used our tastecard which gave us 50% off food, making the overall cost reasonable (just under £90 for 2 courses for 5 people including drinks and wine). However, I would not have been happy paying the full cost: the food is not exceptional and portions are fairly small (you also have to add sides to anything from The Grill). However, we enjoyed our meals and the desserts were particularly good. The restaurant has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere (we were there at 6:30pm) and we never felt rushed. The only problem we had was with our waiter who refused to give us a water jug for the table - he said that he had a water jug which he could pour into our glasses but he could not leave it on the table. He also enquired as to why we needed a water jug when we already had sparkling water. We found this slightly odd, but could not really see the point in arguing over this: the water jug must have been very valuable and we could not be trusted with it. However, overall, we had an enjoyable experience at the City Cafe.

Breakfast service is dreadful. Staff don't know what they are doing. 2 out of the 3 people on our table didn't ever get what they ordered, despite us repeatedly chasing for nearly 45 minutes. The staff were totally overwhelmed even though the restaurant was by no means full. Trying to pay was just as impossible - when we finally did, it ended up being someone random's bill at the till in the main lobby, as the card machines in the cafe weren't working and they couldn't find anyone's correct bill so they just put through what they could find!

Had dinner here before heading to the sky longue. Service was a little slow, but the staff where lovely. Quite a small menu, but had all the essentials for a 3 course meal. Steak was cooked to perfection!!

we were staying at the hotel and went I for a special meal. The meals were delicious, the marrowbone jus a revelation.The staff were very friendly , gave us loads of time. I can't remember our Hungarian waiters name, but he went off and made us a little pudding complete with an Anniversary message on it. The meal cost around £90 including wine and the annoying mandatory 12.5% service charge. Such was the wonderful meal, the best scallops ever for instance , it was worth it. Very special. Thank you.

Rude staff in the morning and a cold room for dinner - suggest you go elsewhere for breakfast or dinner

The food is cooked well and it is all quickly done and on the taste card.The place does lack atmosphere and is full of people from up North who think it is nice and a treat for them. The sea-bass and burger were well cooked and tasty. We will be back as it is cheap, quickly presented and never too busy.

We had a really lovely evening at the Doubletree by Hilton Tower of London to celebrate a "big" birthday. The service in the City Cafe was excellent, and the food for all 20 of us arrived together so no waiting for everyone's food arrive to be polite whilst the food gets cold. The food in the City Cafe was just right for this occasion, nothing exotic, but cooked and presented well & with a sufficiently wide choice for there to be something everyone. We had cocktails in the Skylounge on the 12 floor before and after the meal with excellent views across London, making this a perfect location for a celebration with friends. We had visited a number of other venues in London for this special occasion before deciding on this one, and we were not disappointed. Prices were as you would expect for London, but much more reasonable than some of the other venues we visited before deciding on this one.

I ate breakfast here all 5 days of my stay because breakfast was included in the room rate. The food was good. I ordered a la carte the first 4 times and they were all done well. I had the buffet on the last day. Good selection. The waitstaff was uber-attentive. They check on you all the time especially if you don't order tea or coffee. The empty cup draws them like bees to honey :) Recommended.

Typical hotel restaurant. The breakfast buffet is pretty sufficient and the morning service is great. The dinner service is slow and rude and seems like they don't know what's going on. The dinner was also poorly put together (we dined in not for room service)

We make sure to have at least one meal in the City Café when we stay at the Double Tree and we’re never disappointed. There are plenty of tables to choose from, the staff are always very efficient and polite and the menu offers a good choice of reasonably priced fabulous food. We have always had an evening meal and we’ve never needed to book in advance.

This restaurant is located on the main floor of the Hilton Doubletree Tower of London hotel. We had an excellent supper on the first night we stayed there, with superb service from Marlo. Breakfast was included with our room rate and we had two occasions to sample the large selection of cold and hot items, all self serve. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and always willing to help (like when I burned my toast in the automated grilling unit!). Highly recommended.

Great food selection - easy buffet and service. This time however I was made to feel stupid when I pointed out that the orange juice was very watery. I helped myself to the 'waiters' organe juice supply (clearly guests are unable to make decisions on which orange juice to have) and when I returned to my table it had been relayed! Simpoly bizarre behaviour.

The food (we had the fish and chip with a glass of white wine deal) was ok, service slightly surly and prices what you would expect for a hotel restaurant in the city ie expensive. I found the menu slightly uninspiring so feel no need to rush back to try anything else.

Using a voucher for a meal plus a glass of wine made this meal even better! Each course was delicious and the service was outstanding. We enjoyed each of our 3 courses and I couldn't pick which one was the best. The salmon and avocado salad was light but full of taste. I had the duck breast on crushed potatoes and fennel puree. Cheesecake with honeycomb ice-cream to finish ...mmmm :). My only negative was that there were not many people there which made the area seem very big and open, perhaps there could be some way of making it more cosy.

As part of our stay at the Doubletree we had the B&B option. It was included in our room rate, although it is normally GBP 15 per person for a breakfast buffet. We have paid MORE in Europe for the same.The food and service was outstanding and you were given the option of ordering something extra. My Eggs Benedict were very good. The omelets were outstanding. Good food and great service. However, the dinner menu leaves much to bedesired. Go elsewhere.

I won a competetion for a free 3 course meal and bottle of wine for this hotel. Doubletree by Hilton Tower of London is a very special hotel to myself and my fiance so i follow them on Twitter & Facebook. They are always doing great competetions for their customers. I must say the staff were amazing. We wondered if we would have limited choice on food due to it being free but this wasnt the case. We could pick from the hold menu. We also had a free bottle of house wine included.The food was delishious. It has always been good when we have eaten there before and this time was no exception.I felt the staff and the hotel put alot of effort and thought to our visit. I even received chocolates on a plate that said congraulations Stephanie.I cant wait to go back and visit again. Its also nice to pop up to the SkyLounge after dinner.

The venue is very well situated with sky bar at top floor(12th) with spectacular view over Tower Bridge and the city but expensive wine price. I supposed you'll have to pay for the view. Unfortunately the wine price is the same in the restaurant on ground floor, which has no view at all. that is a lot more expensive than the restaurant in other Hilton double tree. Its too expensive. The food are generally good and good service but the chef always overcook the steak. Its not a place for romantic evening . Good for business client.

Nos enfants nous ont invités à fêter les 70 ans de ma femme le 29 mai dernier dans le restaurant de l'Hôtel Double Tree. L'accueil et les serveurs sont très sympathiques. Tout le monde a apprécié le traditionnel et excellent "FISH AND SHIPS".Le gâteau d'anniversaire était très beau et bon. Le serveur nous l'a apporté en chantant le "happy birthday".Le City Café sert le petit-déjeuner en buffet tous les matins de 6H30 à 10h00....nous avons été agréablement surpris par le choix de salé et sucré assez extraordinaire et excellent. Le service est irréprochableUne équipe de serveurs alimente les buffets en permanence.... vu le nombre de clients qui loge dans l'hôtel (il y a 583 chambres) c'est une prouesse d'être efficace.

Surely, as a chef ( or restaurant ) cooking a steak should be straight forward. Medium WELL should not bleed when cut. But it's nearly 10pm and I need to eat then go to bed. So I am not going to chance waiting another 20+ minutes to start eating. It tasted nice. But I am not keen on blood on my plate. Oh did you ask for med well says the waitress. No sorry no discount. No 5 * sLast time I was here, I didn't even get served (after waiting 10 minutes) so I guess it serves me right. I won't be back ..

My husband was bought a voucher for his 70th birthday to use at this City Cafe. What an experience. We arrived early and was met by a lovely waiter who showed us straight to our table. The menu was the same used by all visitors which was extensive. We were not treated any differently to full paying customers. The food was exceptional, very tasty and well presented.Would recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking good food at a reasonable price. Waiting staff very friendly and knowledgable about the food and wine they were serving.

I've eaten here a couple of times when staying the hotel. Food is distinctly average for the price. As hotel restaurants go it's okay, but I wouldn't go here if not staying in the hotel.

Relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff and good food and drink. The range of options on the menu is quite good and reasonable value. As with all restaurants like this though, watch the drinks bill!

We went to the theatre and had an early supper here, with the benefit of an Amazon Local half price deal, £32 for two of us, three courses plus a glass of wine each, bargain. So I forgave the mis-described starter, which billed itself as a crab spring roll but far from the warm sinful filo pastry and dip, a very different cold thing arrived. It looked beautiful on the plate, but it was a trio of fridge cold mini sushi type wraps, predominantly tasting of mint. Detesting soggy cold wraps, I sent it back. Portions looked so huge, and the bread so inviting, I decided not to have the substitute I was offered by the charming and efficient waiting staff. Our duck breast and lamb rump mains were perfectly nice, a little overcooked, but extremely pleasant and a great bargain. The desserts were the absolute shining stars of the meal. Stray off the menu and expect to pay premium prices. This is, after all, Prime London Turf, just minutes walk from Tower Hill and Fenchurch street, with stunning panoramic views from another part of the hotel, on 12th floor, where we strayed after our meal and stayed, enchanted by the view. It was humming up there, great music and buzz and we'll certainly return. For a tourist/business hotel, we were extremely pleased that we gave it a try. And a nice touch - I'd mentioned my husband's birthday on the phone when I booked, and they decorated his plate with 'happy birthday'....well done, City Cafe.

Fabulous place and food is great value for money. We have been twice and would highly recommend. The staff are so helpful and cannot do enough. After dinner go to the 12th floor bar for a glass of champagne and take in the amazing views of the city. We will be back.

Great location, 2 minutes walk from Tower Hill Tube station, You enter through the vibrant lobby reception. The restaurant was nice and clean and we were greeted immediately and taken to our table, it was nice and quiet. We use the Travelzoo voucher and the steak was lovely, only thing is we expected chips but got french fries instead. Champagne wasn't too bad and we had the dessert which was a lovely Treacle Cheesecake. Will be back.

WOW , what a fantastic evening we had for my daughters birthday, there was 6 of us, and we had a deal with amazon local, 3 courses plus a glass of wine, our waiter seeing all the wrapped presents, enquired whose birthday it was and then spoilt her from that moment on, red or white wine, but my daughter preferred rose, no problem he will arrange that, topped up her glass and then even topped up ours, food was lovely. good choices . beautifully presented and delicious, everything you would expect from a Hilton chain, my daughter was too full for dessert, so he offered her a liqueur instead, so instead of just the set desserts we chose from liqueurs or coffees, then he brought a plate of handmade chocolates with happy birthday written on the plate! and when the bill came no additional charges at all!! thank you Carlo, you made my daughters birthday dinner very special, this is a large restaurant 2 mins walk from Fenchurch street, and it was a busy Friday night. but we still got all the attention we needed and the food was first class, well done city café!!

We bought the travelzoo deal for two steak dinners with prosecco. Extremely good value for London. Nice steaks. Cheese platter was disgusting, with some dried up ?? and Mozzarella - on a cheese plate?? However we weren't charged for that. Standard hotel fare, not bad, not good, but edible!!

supermarket bought chicken terrine, overcook and inedible steak, cold chips, side salad with no dressing and a glass of wine for almost GBP 100 served with staff who are not interested in the PAYING customers well-being. leave you to judge for yourself.

The food was decent; nothing to write home about or get excited about, but decent. The price was about what you expect to pay in a hotel restaurant. I would eat there again if I had to, but it would not be my first choice. We had the rack of lamb and ribeye steak. I ordered my steak medium well, but it was much more medium rare.

Our biggest disappointment with Skylounge was the fact that those in control of the hotel, have decided that because someone attempted to jump from the terrace, they will keep the doors to the terrace, firmly closed from now on. The only reason why we decided to go, was to admire the cityscape, On a more positive note, the bar had a convivial vibe for a Sunday evening, due to the fact there was a corporate function in one half of the bar. We stuck to cocktails, having had some expertly made drinks...

Lovely Italian platter starter, followed by Moules Frites. Good service all round. Really enjoyable evening

We came in for breakfast on a Saturday. The wait staff was unattentive and rushed. I had to ask for a new coffee mug because mine was chipped, and ended up eating with my spoon because my fork still had food on it and I couldn't get my waiter to bring me a clean one.

Great quality + variety! Loved the eggs benedict & portobello mushroom. Servings were huge too! Definitely too much for petite Asians like me.

Layout & Decor is all good. Food (breakfast) is of a reasonable standard. Service is sporadic and varies on each visit

Food choices fine, service slow. I expect better from such a quality of establishment, but maybe I was just unlucky?

I took the easy option after arriving late at the hotel and dined in. The restaurant was quiet and the service efficient, friendly and informative. I had the special as recommended which was venison with beetroot purée followed by a raspberry and nougat semifreddo.Both were excellent and nicely presented. Not cheap overall but worth the money. Breakfast on the other hand was busier. On previous occasions I had the cooked breakfast which was good if overpriced at almost £22 + 10% service. This time I had the continental at a mere £18 + service. The selection was basic and not too well topped up. The cheese selection was the low point being a bowl of individual plastic shrink wrapped Edam, cheddar and philadelphia. I thought they were only used in flight these days. So I'm afraid a mixed bag and next time I'll probably pop to the local coffee shop for breakfast. But keep up the good work on the dinner service.

Das City Cafe ist neben der Skylounge in der 12 Etage eine schöne Möglichkeit in netter Atmosphäre etwas zu trinken. Das Cafe ist im EG des Minthotels nur etwa 250m vom Tower entfernt. Negativ fand ich das einem direkt das Trinkgeld (10%) auf der Rechnung aufeschlagen wird, ich entscheide gerne selber wie viel Trinkgeld ich gebe.

We visited our son who was staying in the hotel to have  dinner in the hotel's City Cafe restaurant. Whilst the restaurant was nicely appointed and comfortable we were extremely disappointed with the quality and presentation of the food, leading us to believe there was a serious problem with the kitchen. Firstly the smoked Salmon starters were of miniscule size and of poor quality and took about 45minutes to arrive. The steaks for main course were so tough as to be inedible and two had to be sent back . The presentation of the main course was also poor with small quantities of processed chipped potatoes inexpertly inserted under the steak concerned. A rocket side salad was offered up in a small teacup with about 6 leaves of rocket. This has to be about the worst restaurant experience we have ever  experienced, taking into account the relatively high price. So disappointed were we that we cut the meal short. The only compensating feature was a very understanding maitre d who was highly apologetic and tried her best to deal with the situation and offered us drinks on the excellent roof terrace. It is completely unfathomable as to how such an excellent hotel in other regards fails so badly in its main restaurant.
