Local Wetherspoons. ... Great ales & beers 🍻 🍺 🍻 but the bar staff are more intent on discussing their everyday lives with each other than serving the customers. Question: Whatever happened to customer service? Wetherspoons might be a large company that has numerous public houses throughout the UK but I rather go to a locally-owned establishment that will take the time to make the customers feel like they are welcome & appreciated.

Good, consistent quality, and fast service, most of the time. *Update* Same old faces working post covid lockdown as before. So much for the alleged "let them stack shelves" 'quote' 🙄 The Barge remains a friendly, welcoming local, and the service is faster, if anything. Edit. Hasn't changed a great deal, but a new influx of staff has breathed new life into the Barge. A great local.

I only come in here for the cheap booze, who else doesnt?? Aside from that, I think I actually got an allergic reaction from this place after having stepped in here as the place is just absolutely filthy, tables filthy and sticky, theres something pucid in the atmosphere - I'm inclined to stay away if I care about my health... Plus staff are incompetent, childish and stupid... Really theres no good reason to come to this wetherspoons... Its a shame, it could have been better..

Nice place. It is a very interesting bar with a loyal clientele. The food is good and the service is quite fast. Ellis has an interesting variety of beers and spirits. The atmosphere is calm and they open from 9 am.

Nice pub Short walk from the station Beautifull murial of Bob Marley on the side wall. My only gripe was the young bar man who served me - miserable face and wasnt prepared to mix the drinks at my request.

The male manager who was on lunch time 8th November was lovely and so much help when we messed up our drinks order! Thank you again 🙂

Waited over 30 mins for the food and when it came it was stone cold. Staff are usually friendly enough but spend too much time standing around chatting instead of clearing tables.

Always, a pleasant time here. You may have to search for seating as it can get quite busy, but the atmosphere is alive. All ages frequent this venue.

App accidentally put through 1 pint as 3 as as it kept crashing and said the order hadn’t gone through. On-site boss was nice enough at first but closed off as soon as I brought it the issue. Saying well they’re nothing that can be done now. Ended up giving my extra two drinks to some people sat next to me. I didn’t expect a full refund but any help would have been appreciated as I’ve been coming here for over 5 years.

Warm welcome from the manager, food really good and served by great friendly staff. So good we went for breakfast twice that weekend. Love the Brockley Barge.

Rude staff, dirty environment, smells of weed and again rude staff

Just tried ordering chips at bar she asked for table number went outside to get table number came back big cue now she says I gotta wait in big cue!! Some people who don’t know customers service should work with the public! Every time I come this place always same different kids running this place and don’t know how to deal with customers Absolute joke

Had toobwait over an hour for our food not one member of staff informed myself of why we had too wait so long so I had too ask a member of staff too chase our order up when it turned up it wasn't terrible had too send it back very poor indeed.

My Local Pub In Brockley come to get some food. Service took long food turned up cold and really didn't injoy my food I wanted to say something but didn't what to be rude upset with Service. I would say friendly staff but poor food and service.

Been coming here for years, don’t expect quality everything, it functions very well for a Wetherspoons in London, good atmosphere, people of all ages and ethnicities, easy staff. The boss, Cesar, is the jewel in this crown of a pub. Good old reliable barge man, can’t beat it.

Great food, prompt service. However, my server said that a cask I that I wanted was unavailable, yet a friend was served one. However, I was asked if I wanted to returned the pint that I ordered but declined as I had already started drinking it. The male toilets could have been cleaner.

The manager who was named Caesar was very welcoming and attentive with his customers. He could not do enough for you. A very happy person always makes you feel as if you want to go back. If we had more time there we would defiantly go back especially as it’s the manager who leaves a lasting impression on his customers. All the staff were very good also. All I can say is anyone who is in that are of Brockley please visit Wetherspoon’s you will experience a warm welcome from all the staff and a very good manager.

There are 2 regular staff who are good. The rest are rude, slow and have no customer interest. The tables are rarely clean or clear. The only plus is it's nearby. There are few options in the area.

Not the biggest spoons in town but not really small either. Spread over a single level, the usual seating options are available. The staff were very pleasant and cheerful. As you would expect, the breakfast was very good and excellent value for money. The pub was very clean and tidy. There is outside seating on two levels out the back plus more tables in front. I may have stayed for a sly early Guinness and it was excellent.

Always like this pub. Busy very good staff and good food. Safe pub for a night out in what some might consider rough area that is changing but as with all areas keep your wits about you.

I don't tend to use this chain of pubs but as whetherspoon pubs go, this one isn't too bad. The staff are quick and polite, and it is relatively clean. My beer was terrible, but given the price, I should have expected that. Not ideal if you looking for a quiet place to drink given the constant baby crying noises and kids running around but if you have a young family with you and fancy a cheap pint then this is probably the place for you.

With a Wetherspoon you know what you're getting but this one needs a special thanks through positive review! I lost my purse there on Friday after goodbye drinks and it was handed in immediately fully intact. The purse alone is worth over £150 so I wasn't expecting to get it back but I contacted them in hopes it was found. Celebrated with a full American breakfast and free refill hot chocolates. Lol There are still good people in the world, so appreciative of this person.

Never been in a Weatherspoons before and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was veery reasonably priced with free drinks. The people serving were lovely and helpful. The pub had a well used feel and the tables weren't spotless but we will consider this chain in future.

in my trip to the UK which lasted about 6 months, in addition to having enjoyed many small family-run pubs, I also came across many wheterspoons, I think I visited over 80, the first in Poole just landed, then in Wales, Scotland and in England again, for those like me who travel in Europe in Campervan these chains of venues are ideal for the various services offered (electricity, wifi without requesting registration or email, etc ...). other Spoons, where courtesy is not taken for granted and the cleanliness of the tables (where you eat and where the cutlery and towels are placed on you) must almost always be requested, (certainly it is part of the company protocol, although it should be taken for granted and regardless), this Spoons in Brockley , instead , is one of the best managed, for friendliness, cleanliness, and attention to detail, for atmosphere it is comparable to that of a family-run pub, courtesy is at home and the managers are always attentive to detail and always have an eye for customers and their tables, and most of the staff are smiling and kind. A very important thing that I noticed is also a certain humanity towards the staff, (especially the one less inclined to a dynamic work and heavy loads in contact with people).

Once the meal had been delivered I noticed it didn't have the two promised pigs-in- blankets and when I mentioned this to a member of staff he went away and soon came back to tell me they didn't have any. We all know they're the best part of the meal and I would probably have ordered something else if I'd known. What would I accept as a substitute? (why wasn't I asked before it was brought to the table?). I'd accept two balls of stuffing. When I'd nearly finished I told another member of staff I was still waiting. After I'd finished I was brought one. So one star.

Wednesday lunch time. Rather empty, so could take your pick with the seating. Cannot go wrong with wetherspoons. No matter where you go .

A Wheterspoon where you feel like you are in a family run pub. The staff greets, smiles, and is always attentive to cleanliness and tidiness (at least on the shift that I went).

Had a great evening with friends. Ordered food which came quickly and was hot and tasty. Served byAden who seemed to be run off his feet up and down, changing barrels. But he was patient and friendly and took it all in his stride. Will revisit soon as really enjoyed the evening.

Nice pub cheap drinks plus they serve decent food. The manage is however, a bit of a creep. One of the girls in the group spoke to him about something and he felt the need to stroke her arm whilst talking to her which was not appreciate. she's considering making a formal complaint.

I am utterly disgusted with the treatment of staff at this pub. My friend who is heavily pregnant was in urgent need of the toilet. We knocked on the door a couple on minutes after closing to which they heard of her pregnancy and walked away. The manager then came and shouted at us through the window, as I told her by the law an establishment should let a pregnant woman in to use the toilet. She replied it’s her law not to let someone in to steal the cash upstairs? This was an emergency and we were heavily let down by this ‘family’ pub. I would hate to think about their reaction if she was in labour.

A typical weatherspoons pub that you get what you pay for! A reasonably decent meal for good value. The manager and staff are always very friendly and the coffee machine is a great addition. Definitely worth a visit for a cheap breakfast!

Consistently reliable . Great staff really pleasant and accommodating. Tim needs to refurbish the Barge as there's a loyal following here . Roots are valuable and this place was always the community hub .

The young girl behind the counter lacks respect, customer service and always have an attitude. Her boyfriend also works behind the bar and always have to calm her down. Her mother also attends the pub and regularly shouting at guest, to protect her daughter’s shortcomings. There’s a conflict of interest and the manager lacks authority to manage that situation.

Really lovely staff. Super friendly and helpful. Best experience in a wetherspoons.
