In occasione del nostro weekend a Londra abbiamo deciso di rimanere vicino all’hotel e cenare in questo pub. Posto consigliatissimo, ho preso un sandwich vegano buonissimo, prezzi non bassi, ma a Londra è difficile trovare qualcosa di conveniente soprattutto per noi italiani.

I had not experienced the magic of chef Sally Abbe at any of her previous establishments so it was interesting to note the subtle changes effected at her pub in the Conrad St James Hotel. It is not really a "pub" in the true sense as it does not have that atmosphere but what it does offer is good, friendly service at well-spaced tables in a modern brasserie style setting. The menu was short but tempting and i chose the Battered cod with chunky chips, forked peas and chip-shop curry sauce (£23.00). This last item was really the point of difference as I have not seen such a bold initiative at any other restaurant! The batter was light and very crisp, the cod moist and fresh, the chips wonderful and the sauce so good that I called for another helping - happily and quickly offered. This felt like food sacrilege to a die hard Northerner brought up on Whitby and Hartlepools finest haddock and chips with mushy peas but the curry combination was irresistible. My first visit to the Blue Boar but certainly not my last, Total bill with water and 12.5% service was £35.72 - simply great value.

The best fish and chips in London , UK ! Not far from Westminster Abbey. Beautiful bar and restaurant , jazz live music , we were able to have a conversation very easily . Mid price range , it’s feasible ! great service .

Hired an area for a post work event. Tyrell, our drinks waiter was fantastic. He was attentive, friendly and made us all feel very welcome. He should be a treasured staff member! Thank you

The service is pretty haphazard- takes an age to get a drink, after reminding the wrong thing appears. Food looks good. Not one to go again.

Let me start by saying do not miss out on this pub. Tyrell, Wafa, Priscilla, and Ramona are amazing and make the experience!

Stopped by this place and ordered a couple of soft drinks. Didn't look at the menu when ordering as usually soft drinks are quite cheap and definitely much cheaper than alcoholic. Not quite at this place. Soft drinks like soda turned out to cost £5+ for tiny bottles of 200ml - so quite a rip-off! Not impressed by the greed of the owners.

Friendly service during an extremely busy December evening in the lead up to Christmas. Good choice on the menu of typical ‘pub grub’ - there were six of us and the food was all fairly good - nothing outstanding. There was live music which created a lively atmosphere but wasn’t intrusive. Will definitely return as although the food was not anything special it was good value for central London.

We visited the Blue Boar for lunch and drinks whilst on our way to Buckingham Palace. We were sat quickly at a nice table right by the window. The food was ok, my chicken club sandwich was nothing special. Drinks were good but what really stood out to us was the service. Terrell was our server and he was just awesome. In a city where service is hit and miss he really stood out. He was busy but took time to chat and laugh with us and was right there when we needed something. He made what would have been a very average experience a great one. Thank you Terrell, you made our day!

5pm and relatively busy, but still able to get a seat without issue. Service was quick and friendly. Fish pie main had plenty of fish, served piping hot. The atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried.

The Cornish cod and chips were impressive and were the best cod and chips I've ever had. The other entrees were very good as well, for example, the Dirty Burger and Lentil shepherds pie. Unfortunately, what negated all the good was that it took forever to get our apps and even longer to receive our main courses. We arrived around 11:30 and it was not busy there. Service was just OK.

I must admit, I’d just waited over 15 minutes without having been acknowledged along with the table next to me at a restaurant. We’d all left and I decided to go next door! Award for best gastropub, I lucked out? The pub was about 80% full, and several tables hadn’t been cleared. Nice layout with ample bar, looking a bit sparse but in a mid century way…cozy small round tables for two and/or more and courteous staff who indicated to me that I had to wait for the maître d’ to return. This man asked me if I minded sitting at the bar but only for one minute if I could give him time to prepare a table. Of course I said yes. He was scrambling to clear and set up tables, and seemed to be the only one on the floor except for a bartender and another gentleman…busy at a computer. He seated a young family who had been waiting, and then continued to clear more tables. Several minutes later, a couple arrived and they were immediately given a table. The single white haired lady got up, and wished the maître d’ a pleasant afternoon and left. Two horrible experiences one after another. What’s happened to polite and courteous… and equitable service in London?? ..not dictated by what you think will be less revenue from a senior lady than a couple… News flash to all you maitre d’s and waitstaff who might think that way: the demographic that has the most discretionary travel income?? Single females and those over 50 start enjoying their hard earned money a bit earlier…. Every customer deserve fair and respectful treatment.

Tyrell is a very kind and great staff member who was attendant to the fact that there was a kids menu.

Nice, almost somewhat classy interior. Not a classic pub - more like a hotel environment - and it is: it's a bar/pub belonging to the Conrad hotel. The food is like you would expect: pub dishes. Quality is uneven: a perfect fishn'chips enjoyed by one in the company, while one other struggled with a chewy piece of meat. Service is also uneven. At peak with many guests it could be really slow. Quite expensive. But ok, a drink and a quick bite: sure. Not for having a "dinner experience" though.

Food excellent as always. Service a little slow at times, had to mask up and go searching waiter. Fairly quiet, esp for a Friday lunchtime, but that is the way it is right now. Still a good place for a meet and a bite.

Catered well for COVID. Everything else was very good

Really good food . Faultless service . Staff in this place are some of best I have seen . They are not intrusive but amazingly quick to respond if you want something . Covid has not affected the quality of service or the atmosphere . It’s not the cheapest for drinks prices but you are in a hotel a stone’s throw from Parliament square . You can’t expect local pub prices . It’s a firm favourite for a catch up with friends

It’s a nice venue and the service was good, but it’s vastly overpriced. £17 for a club sandwich and £5.50 for a very standard flat white is unacceptably expensive. For no good reason. It’s basically a fancy Weatherspoons with Michelin star prices.

Given the current situation we were practically the only people there but your staff were excellent and the food was very acceptable and reasonably priced..

You guys need to sort out your signage - we thought you were closed because of the private party in the bar. We were about to give up.

It was amazing. Myself and my boyfriend were over from Cork and decided we would have our date night while staying in London. We booked a table and from the moment we arrived the experience was amazing. The steak just melted in my mouth and the chips and cherry tomatoes were so so good. The desserts were delicious and the bottle of wine. It was the first time in a long time myself and my partner cleared everything from our plates for the main course and the dessert included. The waiting staff were superb and waited on us hand and foot. Would definitely recommend and would definitely visit again if I was back in London.

Food was okay, service promised something more special and price certainly did.

I had booked a 7:45 am table for breakfast but the restaurant was closed . Very dissatisfied I look forward to receiving a complimentary meal !

Booked breakfast here on the 29 January and arrived to be told that the system was down and to go and see if I could find a table ! Obviously the place was full with hotel guests so I couldn't find a table (not really the type of service I would expect) I then left and received an email from Opentable saying that I hadn't honoured the booking.

Food was excellent. The recommended Hereford beef was a good as the waitress suggested. Puddings were also liked all round. Only downside was service was a little slower than we would have like to get drinks to start with.

Had a lunch booking, very quiet, waitress didn’t have a great grasp of English and got the original order wrong, checked and we corrected and I still got the wrong main course! Only three tables taken in the whole restaurant but could have been because it was January.

For a business lunch music was too loud. Good food but I would refrain from going back if there's an important conversation to be had.

The Blue Boar was right down the street from our hotel near Westminster Abbey. We ate there twice, including once on Christmas Day. Upscale pub, very attractive setting for drinks although some tables are a bit small for dining. Everything we had was good: Fish and Chips, Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Pavlova dessert was fabulous.

Normally I typically do not eat at hotel restaurants, but I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised with the Blue Boar. We had a family dinner here on our last night of our vacation, and it was reasonably priced. Not a huge menu, but the items that we tried were prepared well and good, like the steak pie. The sides like the sauteed mushrooms were fabulous.

Popped in here twice during a recent visit to London. Both times we were warmly welcomed and well looked after. We ate in the bar area on both occasions. Food was well presented, well cooked and tasty. Service was swift and we didn't wait long. Pricing was pretty good and cheaper than a couple of the pubs in the area. Would visit again without hesitation.

Shocking service. The waiter refused to clear our table, when I eventually asked why he wouldn’t clear he cited ‘health and safety’. He was worried he might drop a plate on someone. Thought it was a joke, it wasn’t. I had to get up from the table four times to get attention from a waiter. Expensive and soulless.

Excellent food, unfortunately one of the orders wasnt taken properly and the steak needed to be cooked a bit longer but otherwise food was amazing and will definately be going back.

We went to this recommended restaurant before going to see a show. Whilst we could only get “bar” food, it was really good and was a full meal (not snacks). The restaurant is lovely and had great service. Would definitely go back

Only criticism I would say is the time it took for the drinks to arrive and my colleagues steak had to go back 2 times to be cooked correctly. The staff seemed to go missing quite a bit which i would have understood if they were very busy but that wasn't the case. Food was good, wine was good and the staff pleasant and very helpful. Last visit was much more a 4 star experience.

Lovely place, that is busy but not as overcrowded as the local pubs. Relaxed decor and atmosphere with lovely tables by the window to people watch. Cocktail selection is brilliant and food in the bar is informal and plentiful.

Very attentive staff, good choice on the menu and a very good selection on the wine list. Food was excellent, especially the traditional cottage pie. The price of the food was reasonable, a glass of a decent white wine cost £11, though £6.75 for a bottle of sparkling water maybe viewed a bit on the expensive side. That aside, I look forward to visiting again soon. Highly recommended!

Lovely restaurant for a Christmas outing. Great for families and food was fantastic! Kids food presented particularly well, more like young adult meals. Staff very friendly and attentive. Pricey but worth it. Would recommend and plan on going again.

Nice bar and casual Dining restaurant close to Parliament Square. Prices pretty high but this is a very nice place with good food and attentive service. Expect to pay around £16+ for a burger and nearly £20 for a fairly small portion of fish and chips. But the food was served quickly and was tasty.

We were a group of around 8. We ate at a table in the bar.The range of food was hearty and traditional. My buttermilk chicken burger was really big, full of salad while being delightfully tasty. My colleagues seafood casserole was also well received.The service for the food was good, and the friendly waiter and waitress were ‘on it’However....the bar was a different story. It took 3 tries to get the full order. Requesting a drink meant a different set of servers, who didn’t turn up. Had to chase for drink refills and when no one turned up to take the final round we gave up and went to our hotel barI would come here again as the setting and food is lovely...so they got away with the ‘bar crimes’....just about

We showed up an hour late, but fortunately, the Blue Boar was able to accommodate us. Very polite and attentive service and fairly quiet atmosphere. Wonderful cuisine with delightful presentation. If coming by the Underground at St. James station, I suggest entry through Conrad Hotel entrance on Broadway as the Tothill St entrance is through a very lively bar area which obscures the restaurant entrance.

No record of my booking when I arrived. Kept asking me is it the bar or the restaurant? The open table booking did not say which - simply Blue Boar. I assumed it was the restaurant. The restaurant didn’t have a table for me. Generally useless

We were staying at the Premier Inn Hub next door. We were seated straight away. Lovely place, quiet ambience. We ordered and were served within 15 minutes. High quality. We had cocktails which were ok.

Paid £30 for the privilege of two drinks, some hummus and some olives. Absolutely appalling service - slow, forgetful and inattentive, comparable to a surly teenager in a McDonalds expect three times the price. I wouldn’t bother going here unless you wanted to be underwhelmed and overcharged - as there is a perfectly good sandwiches to be had in the pret a manger down the street.

I visited here with my partner, we had a lovely romantic evening and thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine. The service was good although we did feel a little rushed towards the end of the evening to finish our drinks and pay the bill. However, I would visit again if back in the area.

The food was absolutely stunning is the only way I can describe it, every member of our party couldn't stop talking about the quality of the food. The restaurant itself is so welcoming and warm and made us feel at home. The staff couldn't have done more to help and speed of service was second to none. Cannot recommend this place enough

We had a well prepared and well presented 2 - course lunch of Cornish cod and crab with a creamy saffron risotto in a fennel, samphire and shellfish sauce followed by chocolate parfait, coffee beignet and tonka bean sauce. Good wine too. Service a bit random

Been here on a number of occasions and always been good. This time food was very good but waiter overcharged me £41 then assistant manager advised me refund would take 2-4 working days. Not acceptable and I won’t return.

Celebrated a 50th birthday with a surprise meal. Staff played along with the subterfuge, so the surprise was even more special. The meal was beyond amazing and Harry was a star waiter for us. Lovely touches which went up and above what could be expected. The restaurant manager along with all the staff ensured this was a truly memorable experience. We're truly grateful to have chosen this gem of a restaurant for our special dinner. It couldn't have been better in any way.

Booked the restaurant after an excellent meal in the pub

A grossly overpriced meal of very average standard. We had the ribeye which was somewhat chewy. The spinach is to be avoided unless you plan to take it with you and add it to your compost heap. The staff were loud and kept interrupting our conversation to push more food and wine on us, even after we had said no thanks. We won't be back.

Food and service were superb, the prices are very reasonable for the level of quality of both the food and the service. Recommend. They also have gluten free options!

I go to the Blue Bore for business meetings with senior civil servants and industry professionals. We trysted this space as a discreet, quiet and professional place to have a bite and discuss mostly confidential matters.

We were staying next door and wanted a change from pub food. Efficient and knowledgeable staff. Not a cheap night out but food was excellent and wine suggestion most acceptable. Also ate at the bar on another night and enjoyed that as well.

We ate here several times during our stay at the Conrad. It is an excellent restaurant. We enjoyed every meal.

The food is excellent, The place is extremely busy at supper time. The third time we tried, there was no room. The fourth time, the dining-room manager was at the pub and directed us to the large dining-room in the back, where thefood and service were great. We wish had knownabout it the night before. The whole thing is part of the Conrad hotel.

We stayed at a hotel close by and looked for a place to have dinner. We stopped at a pub but it was packed and extremely noisy so we walked on and then spotted the Blue Boar. It looked nice so we went in and were seated quickly. Sachi was our server and he was great. We had a few special requests which he handled perfectly. He also had a great sense of humor so made for a fun evening. If you go to this restaurant be sure to ask for Sachi, he was great.

We came to Blue Boar as it looked quite nice and was close to our hotel. Originally our server was sub par. In came Sachi and our evening was turned right around! Not only was Sachi professional, he was also very friendly and listened to everything we had to say. He even took the time to speak to us about life in London and gave us some wonderful tips on places to visit. The cocktail and drinks menu was fantastic as well. I highly recommend visiting Blue & Boar, and be sure to request Sachi as your server!!!

Went for a drink and a small bite to eat later at night. Service started promptly but our table was for some reason taken over by a server who was anything but attentive. At one point after waiting nearly an hour for some food we were able to get a hold of our new server, and were informed that he would check on it, but they were busy. After another 20 minutes we asked to pay our bill and leave. Our new server Sachi came by and was able to turn everything right around. What was originally quite a negative experience overall turned into something quite memorable. If I come back to London, I’ll definitely be asking for him top notch service and professionalism by Sachi!

The food was superb - very tasty. I do think that £6.25 for a bottle of fizzy water is steep but that’s the only fault I could find. I will return.

My husband and I came into this restaurant as complete passer byers. We were tired and had no time or desire to look into reviews, or make reservations. So we picked it based on the look from the outside and their menu. We were not disappointed and in fact were delighted! The cocktails were really nice and the staff were friendly and cordial. The decor is relaxed, contemporary and not pretentious. The food although a little pricey was delicious and great large portions! Overall we really enjoyed it and if we stay in the area again, we will certainly pop in.
