The Ascott in Hillingdon

Hi good afternoon, On Sunday the 17th of November, My friend and I went to the Ascot pub for drinks and a Roast dinner it cost £56 the drinks were okay but the roast dinner was like a cheap Iceland microwave dinner it was the worst roast dinner we've ever had. We will be going to the Toby carvey in future. We were offered a free drink or dessert, but what should've happened is they should've given us our money back. We will not be returning which is a shame as it's our local pub. The Asscot much have been taken over by new management because in the past the food was nice never had a problem before. Don't waste your money.

Reasonable pub food. A fairly standard, uninteresting menu. Nothing special. However, the service was poor and some of the servers were uninterested which was a shame as it would have changed the ambiance. Probably good as a sports bar but not great for a family meal out

The pub has a very good atmosphere, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The have many fun events on such as bingo and quiz night, I would recommend this place to everyone.

Had a wonderful meal here with my dad and step mum a couple of Saturdays ago who came to visit from Kent. They asked me where a good place to eat was so took them here food was amazing as usual and I’m glad to say my dad and step mum loved it too, it was their first time here. They both had the gammon steaks and cleared their plates !!!! They can be very fussy!!! I had the steak always amazing done to perfection. Lovely here and wonderful atmosphere.

Came in for a friend's birthday has a nice vibe, it was karaoke night also! Was told by bar staff they closed at 12am but on Google it says 1am so not sure if it needs updating or staff wanted to go home. Bin outside was lit on fire at the end of the night not sure as to why. Very spacious and ok for bookings

excellent food, the service is excellent too, the staff are lovely, especially, Alana and Iona, the Atmosphere is great, I would recommend it to all.

Very good value for money. Lovely food, chilled atmosphere and very friendly staff. My dad z(83) and his partner (82) had 3 courses from the senior menu which was perfect for them. Me and my sister will definitely bring them back soon.

great aesthetic- beautiful even ... Had a couple pints... no food this time ..paid 2 different prices for the same drink..*different staff serving* loads of drink options ...food did look delicious maybe next visit and review..

Nice place good service very nice food and a good choice of menu.

Sadly the app doesn't work well, we waited over 2 hours for our food, portion could be a bit bigger but tasted delicious

Lovely food and nice friendly staff. Unfortunately, we did have to chase up a kids pudding and wasn't advised that they had run out of what we had asked for

4 of us had dinner here, and the next morning 2 of us had really bad food poisoning (exactly those who had a beef pie)

Brilliant service, friendly and attentive. Food was quick, hot and very tasty. Portions were a great size. Overall a wonderful experience with family.

The bartender on Friday absolutely made the night a very big thank you to you Rainbow she made a night to remember the customer service she delivered was excellent the energy that she was working with made the whole venue light up the management is lucky to have her because I am really disappointed at the management I overheard one of them mentioning things to her that no one should ever have to hear and for her to stay strong and smile throughout the whole shift has if nothing happened and still deliver first class service , this next bit is for the ascot team you are a established venue with multiple chains and you keep your standards very up class and high and for you to let these types of disgusting comments be allowed to be said to your staff by upper management you should be absolutely ashamed

Service was slow, either ordering online or at the bar. Food was poor quality, we had to send my son's cheese burger back because it was burnt and had no cheese. :-(

Hoping management sees this, so basically, very strange behavior from a particular bouncer specifically the one who wears glasses and a durag, so me and my long term partner both in our 30s turn up he asks to search their bag which is fine but then puts his hand in the bag just to be clear there was only one thing in the bag, then procedes to ask me to empty all my pockets pats me down then asks for my wallet, which I showed him all the compartments but he insisted on holding it so I gave it to him, after that we go in thinking OK Friday night fair enough. Sit down, and I can see him out the window I am sitting at then proceed to see him let most people in without patting them down or checking their bags also I see someone in a car turn up then hand him money, all in all it just made me and my partner feel like we were being discriminated against. I hope no one else gets to feel like this

Nice food plenty on plate for a Sunday lunch. Lovely pub and a good variety of food and drink on the menu.

Fabulous food. Superb service. The kind of pub restaurant I could happily sit in all day drinking, eating and chatting with friends.

There was a table with lots of screeching women right behind us, we could not hear ourselves speak.

We had a barman, his name was Mason, we call him miserable Mason, he’s great, he does his job, but please be sure to ask for a smile at the end, because you won’t get one

Always a great pub to visit. The only thing which really makes me angry is that you can turn up at lunchtime and plan to spend the entire afternoon and night there and spend a considerable amount of money, only to be told to move from your seated spot later on as someone else has reserved it. No offer to reserve it from the staff or any other offers to move elsewhere, you just get told to “move”. This has happened to me 4 times now, despite asking the bar staff if we can reserve the table for the night.

We went as a group for the seniors lunch for £8 and absolutely loved it!

Had a lovely meal here recently and was served by Iona, who was extremely attentive and friendly throughout our evening. She was helpful and ensured we had everything we needed for a good night. The food was excellent, I recommend the hot honey chicken burger! Good atmosphere as well and nicely decorated.

Ella was really helpful with gin tasting she recommended a lovely drink. Ellen was also very encouraging to engage in the pub sweepstake for the euros. Such lovely members of staff. Would definitely recommend this pub.

Late lunch on a football day, not the best time to go to a sports pub but the food was fine and the staff are great

Travelled down for the fa cup and had a great time, pub is big. However they did run out of some beers but other than that I'd go back

Nice place . Letdown by the horrible parking arrangement. Watch out for the big brother camera and tiny invisible sign. Hopefully they will have sorted this now!

Went there door for the football, service was decent for a big game and busy pub. Nice interior, also family friendly.

Why are they putting ice cubes in a pint jar before pouring,you end up with half a pint on a drink that is already chilled?????

Lovely main meal well served, however, dessert was disappointing. If you have chocolate tart with ice cream and raspberries on the menu please do not serve strawberries! The waitress just left the dessert then did not return. I mentioned it to the server who was clearing away and they said strawberries were served because they had run out of raspberries

I like this family, a friendly atmosphere pub the food was great with plenty of choice. Friendly staff

absolutely terrible. if i could issue this hell hole with minus starts i really would. the staff are rude, inconsiderate and unjust. i was refused a drink because of the way i looked. the discrimination was obvious and unfair. i will never be returning and i suggest that if you haven’t been, you shouldn’t. you’re not missing out on much.

We sat outside on a beautiful sunny day, there was loads of fox sh. t which should have been cleaned up I had the £6 menu steak and cheese which was nearly inedible , tough and fatty , would not repeat the experience .

Although, the service was good, the menu is quite limited in terms of variety. There is very limited choice for vegetarians. Very manufactured & not proper veggie food. Even the small bites is heavily based on meat.

Just tried the two new signature Burgers and wow! Flavoursome, massive & messy when eating, definitely recommend. Davy the bar manager was exceptional with the whole service provided.

Big menu and loads of choice for drinks! So cheap it hard not to stay in all night! Busy pub!

Came to the Ascot on Saturday night, the music created a great Saturday night atmosphere, the food was amazing and the service from Davy was amazing. Karaoke added the extra special touch.

It’s okay to have pub food for a change, chill out with your friends and talk for hours while having a drink!! (More than one drink 😉)

I visited the Ascott on a Friday night, Beth and Alana served me they were lovely. The football was good and the music was good.

I usually love coming here but the attitude of the doorman completely spoilt a lovely dinner out. When asked how old my girls were they said they look under age and you'll have to leave by 10pm they are adults by the way and that they will come and find during the course of our stay to make sure they leave. Told him well we'll be gone by then who's wants to stay here with that attitude. All he had to do was ask on the door for their ID. They think they own the place, maybe The Ascott need to have a word with them about they door manners

The service here today, on Mothering Sunday, was more than 5 stars. Every member of staff who we came into contact with went above and beyond helping us.

Do not use this pub as they running a parking scam. I got a ticket for £100, 1 month after visiting the pub, at 22;30 at night. I parked what is clearly the pub's parking. right outside, and it would be free at this time everywhere except this place. Moreover, they never sent me a notice, just a final notice saying that I failed to respond. Britannia Parking, the company issuing this ticket

From food to drinks to atmosphere to weekend vibes, all 5 STAR.

Waited quite a long time for food had to chase & then was told it’s coming out now I think it had been sitting on the side as it was not hot. Chips Portion size small & mushy peas was the smallest I’ve ever seen. Not the best, i will go back again in a few weeks & order the same to see if it’s any better

We had an amazing evening at the Ascott. The pub exceeded our expectations. The food was beautiful and there was a great atmosphere. Thank you to Lauren who went above and beyond to make our experience perfect. From entering the pub Lauren helped us with the car park machine. She then went on to give us excellent service giving us great recommendations on food and drinks.

I went to the pub yesterday evening around 7 pm. I have been stopped by the security guard, and they said they don't allow sportswear in the weekend, but it's not been advertised anywhere, and the guard was extremely rude, I have to go and change then come back to the pub it's cost me extra money and the time, we are 7 of us we booked the table 5 and 6 the service was delayed every time, men toilet was ver dirty.

Friendly security and bar staff. Mixed ages of clientelle. Plenty of different styles of seating available. Lovely outdoor area. We didn't order food, so can't comment on that. Toilets were clean, but no toilet paper in ladies. Tables weren't the cleanest and empty glasses not collected regularly. Music was good, but too loud to have a conversation with friends at the same table. Bottle of Pinot was £25. Tonic water was £1.40. You have to register your car inside the pub, to park in the carpark.

We were at The Ascott Christmas eve. What a great festive vibe. They were so busy but had alot of cover on the bar and the staff managed to stay cool and calm even with the number of customers. Was a lovely night out.
