Folk Cafe is easily one of my favourite cafes in Bury St Edmunds. Its location outside of the town centre adds to its appeal as it means I avoid the town traffic. I have eaten here many times, even before they expanded their dining area. I have never been disappointed by the food at Folk Cafe. As I usually go in for breakfast or brunch, I am invariably tempted to order the fry-up which is always satisfying. Their croissant is also deliciously fluffy, coffee is excellent and water is readily available. It would be so much more convenient if I can book a table but, to their credit, I have never waited too long in the queue. While waiting I like to browse their shop.

We went to the Grapes for lunch and drinks. My Mum and I love it in there, but on this occassion it was made even better by the lovely Tommy, who was so, helpful, cheerful and went above and beyond to make a great visit for us. Thank you Tommy you are a real assest to the team at the Grapes.

Booked a 7pm table for four people after searching for local pubs/restaurants that we'd not tried before. The main dining room is light and spacious with tables not too cramped together, also the seating is comfortable, i.e. no hard chairs. The main bar is separate which I'm sure the regulars appreciate. It has a large garden and outdoor seating area that will be great in the warmer weather (rather too cold on our visit). The staff were friendly and efficient but not too pushy. We were all impressed by the size of the portions and quality of the food served, and left feeling like we'd certainly had our money's worth. The bill was very reasonable, certainly cheaper than some other places we'd visited previously. Overall, a very pleasant first experience and we all agreed that we'd return in the summer. Thanks for a great evening.

Lively Pub with local charm. Super friendly landlord and welcoming crowd. There was a cheese tasting for everyone and we were able to sample about 10 different cheeses. Great way to get to talk with the locals and enjoy the evening

I had a 60th celebration party in the green room on Saturday, the 11th of January. It was really good. If I had to make any criticism, it’s just that they’re quite restrictive and pigeonhole you into what they want you to do! However on the whole it is always good as we stay often!! The food was excellent and so were the staff, particularly Georgie she is a real asset to them. She is just brilliant…👏👏

Hi all. a few of us old hairy bikers were out for a ride this evening and came across this excellent pub in the middle of know where, ample parking a really nice beer garden in a very quaint setting, there were horse's in the field adjacent to the beer garden and the sun was shining, a very nice pub inside and real friendly staff and locals, the beer was good, and best of all i had one of their home made scotch eggs, honest it was banging, my mate had a sausage roll and it was far better than Greggs, if they were anything to go by i am sure the food is good, the land lady cooks it and makes it all her self, trust me its well worth a visit and it is set in a really nice area, many thanks nick

The food was actually ok and fresh! The staff member can only imagine it’s the owner was unbelievably rude & unhelpful we are staying here for the weekend so we are not local - she seemed friendly to the locals! Our money is just as good as anyone else’s and some courtesy would not go a miss! HOW CAN YOU NOT UNDERSTAND COD & CHIPS??? Unbelievable rudeness! Avoid if your not local!
