This place is brilliant. The coffee is great, the staff are always friendly and welcoming. They have a wide selection of home made sweet and savory snacks and a decent breakfast and lunch menu, which seems reasonably priced. I like to get there early and grab a scotch egg or sausage roll still warm from the oven. I don't think this place could be better.

Really nice little location and the coffee house is a lovely little cafe with purchasable artwork on the walls. Home made sausage rolls and scotch eggs and cakes which look absolutely appealing! Other hot dishes available such as bacon sandwiches and breakfasts etc. Today, I purchased the bacon butty, tea, scotch egg, americano coffee and eggs and bacon. £16 My girlfriend called the black americano as average but the eggs were nice. I had the bacon sandwich and the scotch egg. The scotch egg was lovely and warm. The bacon sandwich and the bacon on my girlfriends plate was terrible. Barely under the grill which is just a preference of choice but we could not eat it at all. Very fatty too. Whilst this is just an observation and a personal choice as well as the fact I’m in service myself, when handing back the plates, the waitress asked if everything was ok. She didn’t take note of the bacon sandwich being given back pretty much untouched or offered an alternative or even re-done! Again, just my own personal observation and how I’d do things differently but certain makes you think did I get value for money. The obvious answer is no. Whilst the staff seem nice, the food could be better. All I’d say to the staff who work here is maybe take a little time to listen to feedback and see if the customer is happy. Either a refund on an item or an alternative dish. Anyway, it’s £16; I get it’s not a lot but I’ve left the cafe still hungry. Thank you The Coffee House for your time.

Good Coffee and cake and would be perfect if they did not let in dogs and owners that could use the tables outside. Sat at the sofa in the middle and almost covered in dog saliva. See picture. It’s a shame as we would have made this a regular haunt.

As a birthday treat we decided to stay local. I felt the service was all very rushed, we hadn’t even a chance to look at the menu before asked for what we would like, my husbands croissant had arrived at the table before we’d sat down, which instead of being fresh and crisp was stodgy and had a funny metallic taste, I went for the bacon butty, which certainly wasn’t freshly cooked bacon, you couldn’t smell bacon being cooked and within a couple of minutes that to was on the table. The bacon was grey! And most unappealing. I couldn’t eat it. Even my husband didn’t want to finish it off! All in all very disappointing. Which is such a shame. We’d like to support local businesses especially after the year we’ve all been through.

Shocking breakfast . Just been to the coffee house for what I would describe as the worse breakfast ever . From the minute we ordered and they said there is no sausages ( wall over to Tesco express you lazy sods and buy some ) replaces by cold sausage roll accompanied by microwaved mushrooms under cooked tomatoes cheap beans and bacon you could see through for £7.95 you should be ashamed . Yes I am a chef and that’s just not acceptable giving good chefs / cooks a bad name . DO NOT EAT HERE . They do not deserve your money

Went to come in here yesterday around 11 with my young children and the place resembled more of a dog pound than a place to go and eat in a hygienic environment. My kids wouldn’t go in, and as I’m allergic nor could I! Bills itself as ‘dog friendly’ but from talking to people around the area they have stopped going for that reason. Assumption by dog lovers is that everyone is a dog lover....more are not so business model is floored. Thus unless you like having a hairy animal around you whilst you eat and drink then give it a swerve. Such a shame, used to love it here.

I frequented the library coffee house every couple weeks with my family. The first time we went we ordered food and it was a complete rip off. Never again. We just stuck with coffee after that. Over £3 for bacon sandwiches with only 2 pieces of bacon and some average bread, too much butter too. Avocado smash which we were told had chilli and lemon in it only had lemon, and the smallest bit of sourdough. The cakes were fantastic, so delicious (I think they said they employ a baker who makes them in house?) but not worth the £2.95 we paid for them. Nice for an occasional treat though. Tea was £2.50 for a small pot! We were told it was premium tea but even that is too much. We learned our lesson and only popped in for a coffee from then on. It was a lovely location and I always thought the staff there were just fantastic. The young lady with the accent, Canadian I think, was always so upbeat and friendly. She always made the experience memorable. And possibly one of the only things that kept us going so often. The only one I didn't care for was the short blonde lady, we always felt from her that we were an inconvenience and we never felt welcome with her. Luckily we were not served by her often. The coffee, as I've said, was always really nice and another thing we loved about the place. All that to say, we went to have a coffee at the library yesterday and they were shut!! Just a small notice on the doors saying the "pop up" has closed. I never knew it was a pop up! I've spoken to a few people who agreed they'd thought it was a permanent fixture. We last went in the first week of September and there was no mention of closing or anything. Very very disappointing!! It would have been nice to know it was shut as we went out of our way to get there this time and it was a complete waste of time. We will not be bothering to go to any of the other houses because quite honestly they weren't worth the bother overall. Very very disappointing.

My partner and I visited on Saturday morning for breakfast. As we approached I noticed the tubs of dead flowers outside, I perhaps should have taken that as a warning and gone elsewhere. I asked for my coffe hot, it was lukewarm. 'Posh' beans on toast had no taste to them at all. My avocado was not smashed it was cut in large chunks and not seasoned. My poached egg was snotty. No marmalade and I therefore ate the most expensive slice of ordinary sliced bread toast and jam I have ever eaten. Add to this one badly behaved dog one badly behaved child, I write this with such disappointment. I did not complain because there would have been so much to say, we just ate up put up and left. I have worked in the hospitality industry, simple things could make The Coffee House great, it would take 10 mins to improve the exterior and ask staff to listen to and respond to simple requests. Very expensive too.

I visit the cafe every week with my dogs as this cafe is dog friendly and they can come inside and sit with me, which means I can use the cafe all year round rather than only when the weather allows me to sit outside. The choice of food and drinks is very good and staff are very friendly and welcoming, even when I turn up with three large dogs. There is always water available by the door for the dogs and then they like to share a warmed up sausage roll with to refuel for the second leg of our morning walk. Lunch hours are precious enough, but when you wait 35 mins for a toasty you are hardly going to have time to send back because it has a distinct taste of fish! Couldn't see this combination on the menu so can only presume that the same board/knife was used. There seems to be a distinct lack of manager or supervisor and too many youngster who clearly have no recognition of what constitutes a reasonable time for a customer to be served with their food. Perhaps it would be good practice if they are unable to serve food within a reasonable length of time to inform the customer thereby giving the customer a chance to choose something else or go without.

Been wanting to pop in for quite a while so had the chance today and was very disappointed. First impressions when we walked in was dirty and grubby including some of the staffs uniform. The decor was poor with the menu written on the wall and table and chairs were not really that clean. We went to order food but the food that was on show was appalling and should of been binned. It was burnt. We saw a lady trying to eat a scotch egg but it was so burnt that she struggled to cut it then she was taking pictures of it as well so you might probably be getting another poor report. This could be a great place if given a little more thought to it by tidying the place up and making it a more comfortable place to sit and chat

I am a regular visitor to the Coffee House in Ixworth and its 'sister' at Moreton Hall and can recommend it to any coffee/tea shop connoisseur. My regular weekly visit is to the Ixworth Coffee House after slimming group weigh-in on Wed morning (naughty but irresistible!) and before exercise class, I need something to give me the energy and breakfast at the Coffee House fits the bill nicely. I can particularly recommend the sausage rolls, scotch eggs, porridge, bacon butties, cakes ...... I could go on, and not forgetting the cheese scones to die for of course. I always rated John Lewis restaurant for their cheese scones, but now I've discovered Coffee House scones I have to score them the highest. Whilst my husband visits his chiropodist I make an excuse to accompany him so that I can visit the Moreton Hall Coffee House whilst waiting, the perfect excuse! The only improvements I can suggest are perhaps a couple of daily newspapers and a variety of magazines at Ixworth to entertain the solo diner, when I'm not nattering with friends that is. Long may the queen of cheese scones reign!

I have been to this coffee shop a few times. The sausage rolls are great, and although not cheap are large and worth the money.I would prefer waitress service to having to stand at the counter as it means all of us queuing to say what we want from the blackboard menus overhead, or some of the party guarding the table and having to come up in stages. The service once ordered is pretty quick, and the staff pleasant. The coffee has always been good. The sandwiches always seem to come just as they are with no garnish, but I am content with that. The only bad meal I have ever had was a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich. It would have been fine except that whoever made it decided I would like it with a very liberal sprinkling of black pepper.I did not enjoy it or finish it. The next time we went I made a point of saying no pepper - but I don't think I should have to opt out.Otherwise it has been fine, and I will happily visit again.

However, the poached eggs on toast was even worse ... Grossly over priced at £4.75 for 2 eggs (which were hard) and 2 bits of bread. The scrambled eggs on toast which another customer had looked far better value and appetising. As an occasional visitor to the Coffee House, I've noticed that since opening their second cafe the owners are, understandably, spending more time in that one, standards are slipping - cleanliness needs looking at, the flies on the cakes and sausage rolls put me off buying one, and the coffee wasn't good. The cheery welcomes and goodbyes are no longer :-(

While visiting my American kids in Bury, I love to walk to this delightful place for coffee, a snack or lunch. The ladies that work there are so nice and friendly and the toasties are so varied and yummy. The atmosphere is super friendly and welcoming! They also give back to the community with sponsoring different events.... The best part: they have ice for my coke!

they do have awesome beverages, and really tasty scones, sausage rolls, etc, the owners-employees make you feel at home. I visited their establishment nearly every day when I visited family in Bury. I loved being there! Amazing salads too. Thank you Jess and Lucy!

I visit the Coffee House regularly and have always enjoyed the experience, it is a great place to meet up with your friends and just chill and catch up. The food is all home made, the coffee is lovely and tea served in China cups and teapots. The sausage meat (for the yummy sausage rolls and scotch eggs) is local rare breed as is the bacon. The staff are always friendly and happy to please. More light bites than big meals, it is always busy so if you want quiet, don't go at lunch time

Great place to have informal meetings or to take a break. Proper coffees, lovely cakes and a full menu of breakfasts and sandwiches. And the sausage rolls are legendary.

Food review on hold until kitchen open, but this is a traditional Grade II listed English pub - sorry, does mean watch your head. See the pubs in Midsomer Murders, with real atmosphere and genuine locals enjoying excellent hand-pumped Brakspears ales. New young and enthusiastic tenants bring sparkle to the establishment.

We hired it for my husband's Celebration of Life. Full of history but little bit shabby. Staff were great, very helpful & obliging. Toilets nice & clean.

My partner's family booked in for celebrating one of his sisters bithday. Best meal ever. The restaurant and staff are lovely. The starters are delicious especially scallops, fresh and juicy. We also had bread and butter from nibblers, wellcooked handmade bread I ever had. Mains are also great, can't fault a Steak cooked to perfection. We had a good time and will definitely go back.

Very rude landlord not at all sympathetic to an autistic young adult whom had never been in a pub before wasn’t sure what he was doing, was told to leave as he didn’t speak to the landlord on entry and didn’t order a drink straight away he was finding his bearings as being autistic was in a very unfirmiliar atmosphere
