An enchanting tea room oozing charm and quintessentially British character. A warm welcome and friendly attentive team made us feel very welcome throughout our visit. Our food order included loose leaf tea (served in beautiful fine china) cake, sausage roll, cream tea and cheese scone. All were absolutely spot on and delicious. But the star of the show was the Bakewell cake - a bold claim but the best cake I’ve eaten. Prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend a visit to this wonderful little tea room.

A rainy day so I had lunch at the Haven. A very healthy and tasty tuna jacket with a simple fresh salad and a pot of Yorkshire tea. Friendly staff and a very popular place. Best of all, by eating here you are supporting St Nicholas Hospice.

After reading about this bakery in the local paper I made a special trip to see what the bread is like. WOW! The best Portuguese Custard Tart I have ever eaten! There were amazing little quiches as well….to say nothing of the Rosemary Focaccia! What a find.. Worth the trip.

What a surprise. In the middle of rolling Suffoilk countryside is the Wyken Estate where the owners have added a pizza cafe to their well established restaurant, vineyard and farming estate. A few weeks ago we visited the cafe and enjoyed very good home made pizzas and salad together with wine from the estate. Afterwards we walked down the meal with a visit to the picturesque garden of Wyken House, an attractive 17th century building with pargetted exterior walls. If you are in the locality its worth a visit. Pizzas are served Wednesday to Sundays 10am to 5pm although times may change in the winter so check.
