Hadn't been to Bury for a bit and was wowed when we walked in and saw the refurb that has made it even better than it was before. Totally buzzing with friendly people on a Saturday afternoon, the beer is excellent and the service of Sally and Marcie just perfect. We always get a warm welcome here and really enjoy this gem of a place that sells the best beer in Bury!!!

We stumbled across this lovely little tap bar. It looks like a shop but it has friendly staff and a comfortable lounge. Beer from Nethergate Brewery, wines & gins. I’m sure they would even make you a cup of tea! The beer was a hit, as was the blackcurrant gin which I purchased a bottle of 😜

Relaxed, cosy & intimate bar situated centrally in historic town centre serving a wide range of superb ales brewed by nearby Long Melford Nethergate Brewery. Friendly & helpful staff, competitive prices and roomy upstairs with comfortable seating in a pseudo gentlemen’s club style lounge cater for all customer needs. There’s even a shop offering a great selection of drinks & merchandise plus you can takeout their superb ales in 9, 18 & 36 pint containers at ridiculously cheap prices. For non locals it’s situated very close to the iconic Nutshell pub & rear of Wetherspoons. Give it a look - you won’t be disappointed.

What a friendly spot to stop for a simple lunch or a delicious homemade slice of cake or a scone! Perfect for coeliacs, too, with two choices of GF cake even though we arrived later on Saturday afternoon, which is the end of the week for this delightful cafe. We were served an enormous slice of Lemon and white chocolate cake and a bowl of hot Pea and Mint Soup, a coffee and a steaming china mug of tea, all for £9.50. But the value was actually in the lovely conversation we had with the ladies serving. If you have a chance, and are feeling peckish, I'd definitely drop in.

A good place ruined by poor service! It's an inviting, airy space, they do good community and charitable work here and the menu is inviting, with good vegetarian options. However, the woman at the counter was very rude in a over-the-top polite, passive aggressive kind of way. The kind of parochial behaviour you would expect to see on Alan Partridge! If Steve Coogan happens to read this, you could research your next series here ;)

Closed on a Friday night end of May, looked deserted and may have closed down!?
