We were so lucky to stumble across this, quite by chance. Community cafe run by delightful volunteers. Vegetarian, dog friendly and nut free. Perfect. And the food was outstanding too. Thanks very much.

Really nice traditional veggie and vegan cafe in a quirky building with courtyard garden outside with a good vibe and some unusual cakes. It closes at 2 so don't be late for Lunch!

Gorgeous decor and gorgeous service... the overall vibe is just perfect and great for all audiences. Also fab if you have little ones. What a lovely find down St John's Street! On a rainy afternoon we came upon this charming cafe in need of warming drinks and a sweet treat. Such lovely staff and a charming rustic environment to sit and enjoy the refreshments. We can't always get our specialised requirement for coffee ( decaffeinated flat white with oat milk) but no problem here. We shared a piece of the carrot cake (my husbands favourite and he's tried a few!) and it was delicious! We perused the breakfast menu while we were there and it was full of variety and sounded delicious. Can't wait to come back again to try more!

This place is a must to visit. 3 Minute walk from centre of town and tucked down St Johns street and near the church. The cafe provides a quiet space to enjoy lunch. There is outdoor and indoor seating plus, this is a dog friendly and child friendly environment. The main reason for my review is to say I have eaten the best Greek salad (on pitta) today, which I have ever eaten.. and that includes when on holiday in Greece! Cake selection is homemade and spectacular too and all great value for money. Top choice to visit when in Bury.

Small, local, all vegetarian café, staffed mainly by volunteers. Excellent food and a small, pretty outside space too. Ideal for young children with toys and storytime. Also, older people who appreciate the ethos and homemade food.

Came for lunch and ordered the Greek Salad with gluten free pitta since I am coeliac. The salad was delicious - filled with tomatoes, olives, feta, rocket, cucumber and tzaziki. Also had the vegan berry smoothie which was yummy. Generous portion sizes and great value for money. Lovely garden space with plenty of tables. Also had many wonderful cakes on offer, including a gluten free coconut banana and honey cake. The slices are big and they looked delicious. Run by volunteers who are very friendly. Highly recommend.

Seriously underrated and relatively undiscovered. There's plenty of Vegan options and the you'll find the food is lovingly home made, delicious and affordable. A great place to support with a relaxed atmosphere and a refreshing change from the chain restaurants around.

PERFECT FOR WORK on your laptop, specially on the high desk by the window with electrical charging points. I can work here much better than in Starbucks as it is quieter and has natural light. Great staff, great place to write and work on your laptop, great light lunch selection and cakes, perfect for work 'hotdesking' ... Yes, great!

This beautiful little cafe is soo very welcoming The food is lovley and all the sweet people who bring you food and take you orders are really lovley :) they are always up for a chat, I have been visiting this little gem since moving to Suffolk a short while ago and I find it very relaxing, in the summer time the doors are open to the small garden area which is very sunny and it's such a pleasure to eat out there !! When I leave after eating & drinking I certainly feel relaxed, there a sense of calmness about the place, all the food is so yummy and all prepared on the spot for you, jacket potatoes are soo nice !! It's a very clean environment, in my opinion it's so much better than the high st eateries, and very friendly.

Called in for lunch - a ham and cheese ploughman’s and a scotch egg and coleslaw. All tasted fresh and home made, and very reasonably priced. As well as satisfying your appetite, you are also helping a good cause. Very different to the usual chains!

This place is a little gem. Food and cakes, the latter home made. The sandwiches lovely and with home made coleslaw. It has a Fairtrade shop before you go into the cafe where there is something for everyone. If it is a nice day you can sit outside. The prices are very reasonable, if your walking past you must call in. Next time we are that way we shall be calling in, if it is still open.

I am giving 3 stars to this coffee shop because they fired the most professional waitress the labour market has had in history. This took place last June and since then this place has lost lots of quality and professionalism. She was called Miriam García, I believe she was from the Canary Islands and she was working here as an intern. Despite this, it is the best place to have a hot coffee in all the area.

Haven of peace for tea, coffee, cakes, lunch. Brilliant prices and lovely people. The shop has a lot of unusual products if you are looking for an unusual gift that also helps people in the third world.

It was a great place to stop by for lunch on a weekday, very welcoming and with friendly service. The cafe runs well and the prices are relatively cheap for a good, full meal, I had a jacket potato with tuna and a side salad for only £3.85. It has a homely atmosphere and I am definitely going back there.

Just Traid is a not-for-profit cafe in the St John's Centre. The cafe is run by volunteers, and is family-friendly. The premises are well maintained and clean, (hygiene rating of 5). They stock Fairtraid products and their food is mainly genuine home-made, and very good value. We each had a bowl of soup, one potato and leek and the other thick vegetable, and they were both delicious and just what we needed on a very cold and wet afternoon. We're going back next time we are in Bury St Edmunds!

We visited this quaint little tea room for breakfast today. One of the best cooked breakfasts I've ever had. I asked for my poached eggs to be hard, and they were perfect! Lovely tasty sausages and bacon and 2 rounds of toast, which is rare. Very busy, very friendly owners, and I would highly recommend. I hope the owners see this review as I promised I would leave one. Thank you. We will definitely be returning!

Christian cafe. Lovely people. It was a bit awkward as no background music and I was the only one there. But did talk to the staff in the end and they were very friendly. Lovely building. Yummy food and very reasonable.

A rainy day so I had lunch at the Haven. A very healthy and tasty tuna jacket with a simple fresh salad and a pot of Yorkshire tea. Friendly staff and a very popular place. Best of all, by eating here you are supporting St Nicholas Hospice.

The Breakfast Burrito is fantastic, the staff are amazing, attentive, friendly and caring. They seamlessly cater for my dairy intolerance and now even remember my order which makes me feel at home
