We were very disappointed as although the previous cafe needed some TLC, it was like a cosy old fashioned cafe, always packed and great food and prices. It has recently reopened after a big renovation, so we went for breakfast and found the old charm has gone, prices have gone up, which we expected, and still has the lovely waitress, but it will be a long while before we return. They have added an upstairs which is quite steep and for elderly folk can be quite tricky, good move hmmm 🤔

We have just been to sample the new afternoon menu. BRILLIANT can't wait to go again. It'll be even better when the weather improves and you can eat outside . Good sized nibbles in small dishes. Recommend you order all five, plenty for two to share. The chunky chips with sandwiches were heavenly.

Went with my husband for a quite drink when the owner turned up caused a scene with the landlord & landlady he then called the police accusing them of things they hadn’t done baring in mind there were two witnesses in the pub us , the owners sisters then came in saying she has called a gang to come up to sort them Out bad move in front of paying customers , the police then turn up in riot gear who nearly tasered my husband On false lies the owner told them , nobody should buy the lease on this pub from the owner as the village will boycott the pub while he owns it keep away from this pub at all costs The owner has ruined a village pub since he has taken over just over a year there has been 4 couples trying their hardest to run this pub it is a white elephant

Best pub in Hertford. Highly recommended by my boy Martin. Guiness was smooth, but not as smooth as the barmaid. She was lovely. A proper sort. Great rack. Will be going back very soon.

Stopped for a coffee here for the first time and was greeted like an old friend. Very welcoming and friendly from the start.

We had a wonderful meal at The Bull in Cottered. The setting was warm and inviting. Staff were really friendly and helpful! Being a celiac, eating out is always a lottery. When you find somewhere that can cook food fresh and modify to your dietary requirements, this needs to be shared. A meal was made fresh for me without gluten and it was amazing! I wasn’t made to feel like I was being difficult and the chef clearly knows what they are doing and I felt in good hands. We will all definitely be back.

My husband and I had lunch at the dusty miller today, I had chicken wings, my husband had seafood, we both had the wagu burger. Both were very tasty. We were served by the temp manager Callum ( hope I spelled it correctly) Lovely young guy !!! He knows how to treat the customers. That’s coming from a retired pub manager. *****

6 of us ladies of leisure had breakfast in here this morning. Have been here a few times and they never disappoint. Food and service is consistently good. Run by a lovely friendly family. We all opted for omelettes ( different fillings) and they were perfect. Good coffee as well. Will be making this a more regular haunt . Can’t recommend enough

An oasis of calm near the town centre, and has lasted longer than Bircherly Green shopping centre did. Now with added Kevolution and garden stage. The new chef is very good and the Sunday roast is most satisfactory. Sadly the beer is rubbish, generally you have a choice between overhopped, yellow stuff or overhopped yellow stuff. Not good for anyone who enjoys a nice pint of traditional ale.
