We were invited to “The Boot”, by a family member, who had recommended this cozy little rural pub. The food was delicious, and Travis was the perfect host. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone who passes through the area.

Popped in here with my brother for a quick drink. The landlady and her daughter were so welcoming and friendly. They could not have been kinder and in a world where my rather eccentric brother can struggle to be accepted, I was so grateful for that kindness. A nice coffee, some beer and board games. This place deserves to do well. Thank you!

Gemma is working wonders at this little village pub. I have been a few times by day when it transforms into a wonderful little tea room offering afternoon tea, sandwiches, coffee and a selection of homemade cakes under glass domes on the bar. This week we visited in the evening for dinner and although it was Fish and Chip night, Gemma, as always, was very accommodating offering a vegan/vegetarian option (with notice). Her homemade chocolate brownie is the best I have tasted. Thank you Gemma, I will definitely be back!

This pub needs to decide weather its a pub or a tea room, plastic table cloths on beer tables . No session ale . Not my idea of a village pub

Four of us enjoyed a fabulous High Tea at the Boot to celebrate my mother's 84th birthday yesterday. The food and service was exemplary and I extend my grateful thanks to the wonderful Gemma and Travis for their kind, attentive service. My mother adores this place, as do I and I have also introduced others to the pleasures of the Boot under Gemma's Stewardship! This place isn't just a country pub, it is a tea room, a community hub and much needed inclusive, safe space for all members of the community and to this end, Gemma also runs a variety of regular workshops, crafting and other events to suit all tastes and ages. The Boot is well worth a visit for non-locals as well (there is free parking, outside space and step free access). This is so much more than a country pub. It's quirky, it's friendly and excellent value for money. Try it once; you will return! It does traditonal, it does country pub, it does tea room, it does community hub. It does it all. This isn't just any pub; this is the Boot Pub Dane End.

We go to this lovely little pub for afternoon teas and games events, Gemma, Travis and all her staff make us so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. I met a friend recently for a cuppa and natter, it was so cosy in front of the log fire and we very easily slipped into enjoying G & T's with our sandwiches! A wonderful hub in the village for meeting up or a stop over for lunch if you have been out walking the wonderful footpaths in the area. Gemma has a thriving evening clientele laying on various events to suit everyones tastes.....The Boot is a very popular watering hole...YAY!

We love the boot. Since Gemma and the team have taken it over the atmosphere and the friendliness of staff are just so welcoming. Gemma always bends over backwards to offer you all that you need. It has become a pub for everyone to enjoy now and not just the village. The pub is sparkling with cleanliness, we love the fact that its now also a tea room, offers fish and chip fridays, sunday roasts and they can offer you the space to run your own events. Gemma also reaches out to other small businesses in the village to run events. As all village pubs struggle with the cost of living, Gemma has put her heart and soul into the boot and it shows on every level! We couldn't ask for more. We would like to thank Gemma for bringing the community together and giving us a friendly, welcoming space that no one will feel awkward walking into. X landlady of the year

A fantastic pub come tea room for all to enjoy. All staff are friendly and go above and beyond to cater for all needs. Yummy afternoon tea (all homemade) in the day, great nights out with friends in the evenings. Also held a family christening celebration there which was catered for by the lovely Gemma, and herself and members of staff made us all feel extremely welcome and looked after.

We stopped off here on the first morning of a bike ride to the Netherlands, and loved this place. Great for cyclists: if you walk around the black painted house to the left of it you will find yourself on a lane through which you can access a convenient rear garden area with plenty of room for bikes and cyclists and even a bit of cover. The land lady was the most friendly, welcoming person who enjoys baking and makes some very decorative and delicious cakes that you can refuel on. When we went in Aug 2022 it was open Mon-Wed 10:0-15:00 for teas and cake and non-alchoholic beer. One of Hertfordshire's well-kept secrets, I hope more people discover this place. Planning to return to try their Fish & chips one Friday (18:00-20:00) and sunday lunches (13:00-15:00). There is a real community feel to The Boot.

We went for a Sunday roast. Must say that the roast was homely and tasty. Still, considering that we had pre-booked and even confirmed that most likely all in the party would have the roast, we were not expecting a 15 mins wait to become 45 mins! We were the only people in the restaurant. It seemed that not many would come on Sunday, as we had to endure a refurbished but fairly cold room. but clearly some way to go...

Hubby's local pub, and he sometimes has some fish and chips, or just chips to chomp whilst drinking a pint. He says the beers are good, and there are many to choose from. The pub has also made a good start in the restaurant, the food is to be recommended.

6 of us ladies of leisure had breakfast in here this morning. Have been here a few times and they never disappoint. Food and service is consistently good. Run by a lovely friendly family. We all opted for omelettes ( different fillings) and they were perfect. Good coffee as well. Will be making this a more regular haunt . Can’t recommend enough

Whenever we go, this place is always busy no matter what day or time. This is simply because of the quality of the service and products. today, we had a sandwich. Mine, chicken salad with onion marmalade was simply delicious (who would think of marmalade in a chicken salad sandwich)? The other sandwich was prawn salad which I'm told was also delicious. Both sandwiches were at least an inch thick and no, that was not mostly salad, but chicken and prawn. My cappuccino was simply lovely. Add to this the staff are always friendly and accommodating, what else can anyone want?
