The Fox in East Hertfordshire

I have used this pub for 40 years and it’s never been this poor. Poor service , poor food, poor decor . Since we got spoilt with Phil & Tina back in the mid 2000s, why the brewery are just letting to couples that have zero personality for the license trade. It’s not rocket science. We now have a bunch of teenage girls behind the bar who would rather be on there phones. And a none existent guvnor, it’s ruined a great community pub and turned it into a lifeless , soulless vacuum.

Well after using this establishment for over 20 years it’s natural that it will have changed hands many times . Sadly the last 3 times I have been I’ve been left so disappointed and last night was the last straw. I always think restaurants are allowed an off day so that’s why I returned as it always has been without doubt my favourite little country pub. Pre Xmas 2023 I chose the bruschetta it was awful. A stale slice of bread with chopped in half plumb tomato , a few red onions and that was it …. I thought okay it’s just changed hands . Xmas dinner menu , was dry poorly presented and again I thought maybe they were busy . Yesterday on valentines we visited again and chose the tapas for 2 at nearly £39 a head and the quality was unbelievably poor. The food not only looked bland, tasted bland and wasn’t worth £40 in total let alone the bill nearly totalling £90 !!! I will never purchase food from here again and I would encourage the owners to invest in a decent chef, buy decent ingredients and make an effort !!!! I didn’t raise the issues as I was treated yesterday and didn’t want to make a scene plus the owners clearly know how poor the food they are serving is so deserve to have to account for themselves Great country pub for a drink don’t eat her

The BEST food and atmosphere! We came here for an evening out for the first time in 2 years. Unfortunately the previous owner was rude and made us feel very unwelcome, we have come tonight after learning it is under new management and what a wonderful experience we have had. All of the staff have been more than accommodating and friendly and the food and drink have been incredible! Thank you we will absolutely be back!

Best sunday roast i have had in a long time , cosy little pub with a large garden. price was also reasonable

First visit in a long time now and the place is looking as lovley as ever but has a bit more of an abiance, weather was nice so sat out side , there was 4 of us all had starters and mains , the burger was really good my partner had fish dish and will be going back for it again, service a bit slow i think maybe it was her first day.

Sadly this was not as hoped for, I booked for Fathers Day. First they couldn't find my booking, then after 3 attempts and 1/2 hour we got our correct drinks order. We then had to grab a waitress to take our food order and when she arrived the items on the menu were either incorrect or unavailable because there were alot of bar orders for food taken so insufficient product was accounted for. After a further wait, the kitchen then flooded due to the rain. Another mucked up drinks order. Stock levels for pudding options was limited or not available. The Sticky Toffee pudding did not have butterscotch sauce but ice cream and we were rudely told that this is how it comes from the waitress and the brownie came out without the stated ice cream! At best the waitresses were overworked and at worst due to the business being over run had little knowledge of the menu or idea how to manage the situation or its customers professionally and politely. We even had to ask for the music to be turned down as we had a speaker above our heads. This ruined what was supposed to be a lovely sunday lunch with my pops. Although management tried to compensate with a discount, we will not return, and after sunday's service I don't think we will be the only ones. Shame as we like to support local businesses where possible.

No Roast Lamb by 1:30pm when service started at 12:00, Chicken on the menu was actually Turkey, no cherry pie when it came to dessert, Chocolate Brownie was served without ice cream & Sticky Toffee Pudding had no sauce despite what was stated on menu. Waiting staff didn't seem to know what was going on and what was or wasn't available on the menu. All our drink orders delivered wrong during our meal. Service was very chaotic and disorganised, admittedly not helped by a kitchen plumbing issue but not excusable. We were given free desserts and drinks when it came to pay the bill, but then automatically had 10% added as a service charge which is not stated on the menu but I couldn't be bothered to argue as we simply wanted to leave! All in all not a good experience and we won't be in a hurry to return, plenty of work to do for the new landlords!

Went here for a meal last night with my inlaws. Hadn't been before, I purely picked this pub because it was half way between our house and my inlaws house and it seem to have really good reviews! But......I'm sorry to say that we were really disappointed! The staff were lovely and accommodating, so kudos to them for that! But the food was shocking! First of all, they had run out of most things on the menu. There was absolutely no vegetarian options, as they had run out of both vegetarian options on the menu. So I asked them to make me the pasta dish without the meatballs and bulk it out with veg instead. The pasta came out, as for the veg they were supposed to bulk it out with, I ended up with 2 solitary pieces of stemmed brocoli on the top of pasta in tomato sauce! My mother inlaw's lamb came out, and it was as tough as leather and looked so small and unappetising! My husband's steak which he asked for medium well, was rare (although they did send out some cheese and biscuits as way of an apology and took some money off of this dish). The food didn't seem like it was cooked by a chef at all. It tasted and looked like half reasonable home cooking. The sticky toffee pudding seemed to have come out of a tin and had been microwaved! The portions were tiny for the the prices we paid! Burger buns were very small! They had run out of the peppercorn sauce, the beef cheek, both vegetarian dishes, mushrooms (which was supposed to come with the steak). Given the fact the menu is fairly small, there was a large percentage missing, which just caused disappointment and regret for choosing here to eat! I have to be honest and say I probably wouldn't come back here with how things are right now. I think there is a lot to be worked on. It says online that this is a gastro pub, but the food quality and options were nowhere close to being gastro I'm afraid! The staff were lovely, so the foundations are good. But everything else needs huge improvement! One last thing I must mention is the fact we booked a table, but ended up outside on bench seats. My inlaws are fairly old with my father inlaw having alot of osteo problems, my husband also has back problems. The seats were incredibly uncomfortable and we all had to keep getting up! The bench table we had was also uneven, so didn't meet the floor properly and was rocking all evening. It wasn't what you'd expect from a booked table. I don't mind sitting outside, as space inside is limited, but you need to have tables with proper wooden chairs with backs on them for the booked tables.

First visit as moved to the area. BLT sandwich. One but of bacon but was burnt and not corrected at the time. I won't be returning.

Came here as where we tried to go wanted a pre order for a party of 6. Not The Fox though. And glad we came. Its a lovely little homely pub, quirky and welcoming. Decent choice of beers including no alcohol options. Starter was great. Excellent portions and fairly priced. I had been over heard saying I'd have liked whitebait, it was only on a sharing platter, however it was made as a solo portion especially for me which was a great start. And superb it was! Nice pie of the day, fish and chips also looked awesome. Overall a wonderful welcoming experience. Not the first time I've eaten in here but I will 100% go back again. A great food pub with a lovely atmosphere and superb service. Went the extra mile. Thank you to those at The Fox for a lovely meal and experience.

We had an off the moment visit to The Fox yesterday, which we often do. A beautiful day and my 3 Grandchildren wanted to walk to Aspenden and have a drink and a bowl of Rob's lovely chips. We all walked to The Fox and sat outside, which was lovely in the winter sun. Rob is so welcoming, even though rushed off his feet. We were only having a drink and chips for the Grandchildren, but their Mum and Dad had a Roast Beef dinner with the special Cawliflower Cheese and Mum had the Lasagne. The food and service was absolutely amazing. Shame we had a roast on at home as Nar and Dar (Grandparents) would have loved the roast as looked absolutely delicious which our son said it was and daughter-in-law loved the lasagne. We often pop down to The Fox and highly recommend in all seasons, but best is sitting out in the lovely garden in the summer. Rob is a fantastic landlord with his lovely wife Emerald too. Thank you for a lovely day.

I am a regular at this pub and don't feel it gets the credit it deserves. As soon as you walk through the door you are welcomed by Rob, Emerald, and their fantastic team with a smile. With an outstanding selections of Lagers, Ales, and spirits you really are spoilt for choice. If I could eat there every day then I would; the food is brilliant, they quite literally cater to your needs. In the summer time the garden really shines, it's well kept and their are plenty of places to sit. If they let me, I would never leave. The Fox are also a huge supported of local causes, sponsoring both the local Football, and Cricket teams. Massive kudos to Rob, Emerald & the team for all they do.

Been coming to this pubs for years, unbelievable food and beer! Lovely family pub, great warm atmosphere to visit with friends or family. Best meal in Buntingford (or surrounding areas)🔥 🍻 .

What a quaint little public house this is, tucked away with a delightful beer garden, I know as iv also visited when in full bloom, the atmosphere is both warm and welcoming and the staff really can’t do enough for you, they pour the perfect pint and a wonderful gin and tonic for the lady friend, the food is absolutely top draw also, it really is a quintessential English pub with lashings of tradition, the perfect place to while away the hours with a drink in your hand, one couldn’t recommend enough.

I’m a regular at The Fox, simply because the food is so delicious and great beers. I cannot fault the staff & service either. A warm welcoming pub with great character especially at Christmas time with their open fire place!

First visit to The Fox and i cannot recommend it enough! Very welcoming and friendly, great selection of beers, delicious well presented food (the rump steak was awesome) all in a picturesque location - a prefect country pub.

Visiting an elderly aunt and decided to pop out for impromptu lunch. Hadn’t booked in advance but was made to feel very welcome. Had light lunch menu. Food lovely and service with a smile. Would definitely recommend…it’s not often my youngest clears the plate!

Lovely pub in a small village off the beaten track. Nice staff, food way above the average, good selection of fresh vegetables. Beer is well kept too.. Recommended.

I am normally quite critical when eating out. However, I have just tasted possible the best chicken and mushroom pie ever! The chips were crispy and not greasy. The vegetables were flavour some and cooked to perfection. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend.

Have visited this pub a couple of times for lunch. Rob the manager is a friendly host and the pub is quintessentially English. Usually a couple of good guest ales on and a menu of jacket potatoes and sandwiches. A small but good lunchtime selection...

Really enjoyable meal and 💯 one of the best pub roasts we have had. Relaxed atmosphere and great service. Will be returning soon for sure!

If you are finding coming outof lockdown difficult this time then you can be asssured by this pub. Plenty of outdoor space, pub sticking to/insisting on all the rules - allows you to relax. Wear layers and a hat & enjoy!

Went to The Fox for a Sunday lunch with my partner and I could not fault it!! Absolutely excellent service and delicious food!! Definitely the BEST fried halloumi I have ever had!!! Thanks guys, will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I had planned a short midweek visit in late April to Buntingford and, given the Covid restrictions in place, I was keen to research pubs with gardens in the area for a snack lunch. I found The Fox at Aspenden a short drive from Buntingford and feedback seemed positive. We received a warm welcome when we arrived at the entrance to the garden. There was a large number of benches , several of which were under 2 large gazebos. We eventually opted for one in the sun on the grass - there was a parasol, though we didn't want it as thankfully, the sun was shining but it wasn't too hot. There were also several tables on the grass in the shade - it was a bit chilly to be sitting there on the day we visited. The garden area was generally quiet, apart from the chatter of other guests and the birds singing!The service was courteous and very good throughout. We ordered our drinks and they were delivered promptly, when we ordered our food from one of the 2 menus operating that day - a) lunch and B) sandwich. We selected items from b) one tuna mayo and onion sandwich with a small portion of chips plus a jacket potato with prawn mayonnaise. The food was delivered within about 10 minutes and we were very pleased with our choices, both in terms of portion size and quality.The overall bill covering the food and drinks ( 2 pints of beer plus a pint of orange juice/lemonade) was cGBP25 which we felt was very good value in current times. We would definitely recommend the Fox and will return again should we be in the area. From comments we overheard made by one of the owners, it is important to book in advance if you want to visit at a weekend.

Friends and I had a lovely lunch at The Fox on a rainy Saturday. They kindly set up a gazebo so we could keep a table outside and spent the whole visit checking up on us despite being the only people outside. All the food was delicious pub grub and they followed the Covid restrictions extremely well, with clear instructions as to what was expected. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

We asked a guy in the locksmiths in Buntingford for a recommendation for a pub lunch; he suggested the Fox in Aspenden, and we went. Pub decor is almost minimalist, very tidy but still welcoming as was the lovely fella running the 'show'. Great pint or 2 (Doombar), excellent glass or 2 (Pinot Grigio) and a very tasty lunch. We both had home made lasagne (one veggie, one meaty) and it was good, very good but that was after sharing some whitebait, also very good. The sweet potato chips, an extra, with the lasagne were also lovely. Total food cost; £18.50!! I live in a pub desert (sorry locals, but you aren't very good) and this pub could be a blueprint on how to do things inexpensively and make you feel pampered at the same timel. Oh, I forgot, as Covid safe as you could possibly feel. Well done, we wish you well in an uncertain future.

I visited The Fox for an evening meal and was very impressed. I had homemade steak & Stilton pie chips and veg. A damn good portion piping hot with gravy. Spot on.Excellent food quality, a great range of beers a lovely setting and garden. Dog friendly. Good prevention measures too in terms of Covid 19

Would highly recommend, food was lovely and very reasonably priced, Rob and Emerald went above and beyond to accommodate my children’s fussy eating needs! and Rob even fixed my husbands reading glasses as they happened to snap in half whilst he was ordering food! A very enjoyable evening for the whole family.

Would love to thank The Fox for their diligence in these trying times - we had an amazing take away meal which was out of this world. Would thoroughly recommend the lasagna and eating in when things get back to normal!

There is a warm welcome guaranteed here. A couple of minutes from Buntingford, the clientele is mainly local. one quirky feature is a stuffed fox on the bar wearing a West Ham scarf! The seafood platter is the best thing on the menu. Chilli was Ok, wine a little disappointing. Generally good value. There is a car park but it's a bit narrow so you may have to park on the lane outside.

We went here for valentine's night and we both had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and can honestly say was one of the tastiest steaks either of us had ever had! Lovely pub, great atmosphere and staff friendly too.

We stopped in at The Fox as a last minute decision and were fortunate to get the last unbooked table of the evening (although with a support post along side us). The food was good and price reasonable. The menu felt a little limited and the foods pretty average pub fare but it was a lovely little place with a great atmosphere, small, cosy and fireplaces. We’d like to give it another go and book this time for a better table as it seems to be very popular!

We took our oldest Grandson of nine to the Fox at Aspenden that we have been visiting for years with our children when they were young and had Ham Egg and Chips with Zena for £1.50. How times have moved on. We had the most amazing evening with Rob being out landlord and host and the steaks were second to none. I said to Rob I have had a steak at the hawksmoor which was absolutely lovely but his steaks are very near. Definitely recommend and Rob is the host!

Met Rob and Emerald the new owners who are really friendly. Had fish and chips on the specials night, hubby had the burger, both very enjoyable meals. Harry our waiter was very efficient and friendly. Most definitely recommend.

I visited The Fox for my birthday on the 18th of July. After coming under new management, the Fox is the best it’s ever been. The food was incredible, and all of the team that were working were incredibly attentive, friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were also very well priced in my opinion. Overall experience was amazing, highly recommend you visit if you ever have the chance. 11/10!

Five of us, and a dog, booked a table in the bar for a late lunch. Lunch time menu of 0ne or Two courses was varied and reasonably priced. The service was fast and attentive

We stopped here mid journey to meet with friends before continuing our journey. This pub was friendly and welcoming. There was a decent selection of lunchtime food and my lasagne was one of the best I have ever eaten.

Booked the Fox the dinning room for a family birthday gathering of 18. I spoke to Mark about requirements earlier in the week a hot/ cold buffet . We all had a lovely afternoon everything went perfect the food was great , great catering for two gluten free relatives .

We had a family birthday lunch on 29th involving ten of us with four children. They gave us the dining room and it was a really good meal. Everyone enjoyed main courses with a good selection for the little ones too. The desserts were to die for- all of them absolutely stunning and the price was very reasonable. Staff were very polite and helpful too. Lovely oak beamed pub with lots of character. We would definitely go there again.

Group of 6 adults and two toddlers, visited on a Saturday afternoon. Bar service initially was very good and once we'd sat down in the restaurant things were taking far too long. Starters were nice but everything was deep fried and the oil it was cooked in had an aftertaste (not pleasant) Main courses were delivered quite quickly but the Fish and Chips were cooked in the same oil and nobody could eat the chips. My daughter left her whole dinner, fish was tasteless and chips were too greasy. Goat Cheese tart on the specials menu was served with salad - it was a large tomato and 6 slices of cucumber and clearly not home made...tasteless and not very special! After about 30 minutes after the main course was cleared we had to ask for the desert menu, which was chalk board (with items on it which were not available) - which we only found out when ordering - if they weren't available then surely they could be rubbed out? Deserts ordered arrived with raspberry ripple ice cream instead of vanilla...not the combination you'd expect with a chocolate tort or pudding? Overall very disappointing and won't be back.

Visited The Fox with quite a large family group but we were very well looked after. No-one had any complaints, food was fantastic.

Fantastic for all the family and especially if you have sons and daughter-in-laws with a hangover - they love the lasagne!!

First tried here Friday evening , food was great -all home cooked.Went back on Sunday for the roast -also lovely.Price is good -not expensive , really pleased I’ve found this place as new to area.Staff very friendly .Recommend .

I visited last weekend, it was a friend ‘s surprise 40th party, very busy as the football World Cup quarter finals were on. The bar staff were young, but that shouldn’t be an acceptable excuse for being surly, inattentive and also inconsistent with their practices regarding the minimum spend for payment by card rather than cash; first it was £5 minimum spend then it jumped to £10. Nothing at all to entertain kids outside. Improvements necessary.

This pub is tucked away in a leafy lane. Our relatives booked it for Friday night. Inside the pub has low beamed ceilings. It’s got good ambience and very pleasant staff.

My wife and I visited recently on Steak Night. The quality of the steak was fantastic, the house wine was great, service was perfect, the desserts were lovely, and all-in-all it was incredible value for money.

We booked a table for 12 in the restaurant for a Family Birthday Lunch.

Lovely feel to the pub/restaurant, very relaxing especially in the winter when the open fire is going. Great garden too for summer dining/drinking. Good pub food. Would recommend.

My wife and I ate here on our way to Stanstead Airport. We picked it out for convenience with no idea that it would be as good as it was. On entering we immediately fell in love with the room and were sat in the Fireplace. The Lunch was truly delicious and the service was absolutely first class. The roast beef was as good as I have ever been served in a UK pub.This pub is quite a wat away from where we live but we are going to find reasons to be in this part of the world just so we can experience the sunday lunch again.

Good food friendly staff and good value. We always manage to get a table and the garden is lovely in the summer months.

Had a great Christmas lunch with Charity Shop friends. The meal was delicious and staff cheerful and friendly. Super good and well cooked. Loved the Xmas pudding. Very good value for money. Thank you

Such a lovely location and pub, we went for sunday lunch which disappointed.

Met a friend for a meal as this was a convenient mid-way point for both of us. The location is quiet - tucked away in a pretty village on outskirts of Buntingford. Worth visiting for the location. Pub inside is quite small so likely to be busy at times, but tables outside if weather is fine. Food menu was fairly typical pub grub - we both had the steak and kidney pudding. Food freshly cooked and nice friendly service. Only downside was an extra item was added to my bill which would have resulted in a £15 over-charge if I hadn't queried it.

We love our local pub but what a disappointment

This was my second only experience of an English pub. The atmosphere and location was charming and the staff were cheerful and helpful. Unfortunately my meal was average. I had the baked potato with tuna. Very basic with cheap Tuna topping. My companions were also not greatly impressed with their meals.

Staff very young but efficient enough. I had a roast which was very average, good portion but potatoes were too dry as if it had been reheated too many times. I wouldn't recommend this venue to friends.

Cosy beamed country pub with an open fire. Lovely garden in the summer. Dogs welcome. Great food and atmosphere.

Dine here few times, foods consistently good quality & value for money. Service is prompt & friendly but not overwhelming, which is nice. Every Tues, Wed & Thurs evening with special offer on like steak & chips with a bottle of wine for two person under £25. Is now become our local pub visit.

Wonderful evening two succulent steaks cooked and seasoned perfectly with lovely chips. Bottle of very tasty Malbec was part of the offer and this came to just under £30 . Excellent value for money will be back very soon.

We have visited The Fox on a few occasions now, when we pay a visit to my elderly step-father. Staff have always been friendly and service has been excellent. Food has generally been of high quality and very tasty. My daughter is vegan. There are very limited vegan options on the menu but they are happy to prepare a special vegan meal for her if we forewarn them we are coming!

What a lovely evening for my husbands birthday. We had the most perfect meal - Steak cooked to perfection by Tina and sides were perfect too. We had a warm welcome from Narna (sorry if I have your name wrong) and Alice was the most perfect waitress. We would definitely recommend the grill night on Thursday and such a good deal. Overall, you cannot go wrong with weekend either as the food is always fantastic. We have been going to The Fox for over the last 30 years, landlords only changed 4 times since we first came across The Fox but hospitality and service is still 100%. Well done Mark for becoming the new Landlord and wish you well with your new career. Definitely going to do Grill night again. We were at the Pub on Saturday too after 9 holes at golf with boys - perfect atmosphere too especially as football results were on in public bar!! Aspenden is a lovely little village off Buntingford and definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Friendly welcome & service. Met with friends who enjoy this pub & I had not been for a few years but I hear it's well thought of locally. Had pie and mash /peas which was nothing special. Plenty portion wise but very basic food and bland(hence the 3). A bit more seasoning would have wowed the plate. Very basic.It was a cold day and a shame the heater was a lump of a feature in such a small pub. I came away thinking you do pay for what you get and it was inexpensive.

We were on a walk and decided to have luch at the fox. The drinks were so expensive so much more than we are used to paying. My husband had gammon which was no bigger than a rash of bacon. Food ok but not worth the money. Perhaps we were paying for village location

Was looking for somewhere for lunch after taking my wife to Addenbrooks Hospital.Bit of a long way as we live in Barking so didn't know of any places.Decided to take the A10 and found Buntingford.Stopped at one pub but didn't serve food and recommended The Fox. Lovely log fire raging on a cold day.Good selection of fare on menu.I chose Fish and chips, the fish was the size of a small shark.My wife had a plentiful meal also.Got to go back to the hospital in 6 wks time and will defo visit again.

Excellent diner : petite friture de poisson, belle pièce de viande, pie du jour savoureux et le pudding est à tomber !! Personnel très agréable. À découvrir si vous êtes dans le coin !

A typical English pub with a simple but stunning menu. Great staff especially Aoife with quick service, great drinks and food . A must if you visit the area .

Had a great Christmas lunch with Charity Shop friends. The meal was delicious and staff cheerful and friendly. The portions were big but managed to eat everything!!Very good value for money. Thank you

Met my brother for lunch here today as 1/2 way for us both. This is my first visit but it wont be my last. Gorgeous pub, friendly, lovely fire, parking. Had lunch..nice menu..great food....will definately be back. Would recommend.

Wonderful Sunday lunch here last Sunday. Menu excellent and prices are reasonable.Good selection of beers and drinks.

Went with six friends for lunch. We all found something we liked on the menu. Food was lovely and great value for money. The waitress was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were so well looked after and the pub setting is wonderful. So looking forward to my next trip to the Fox. Will definitely be going for Sunday lunch next time.

We had A sunday roast dinner which was fine, nice beef but soggy veg, great yorkies and roast tatties. Sadly let down buy none existent waitress and waiters although we saw at least three in the kitchen, i had to go to the bar half way through my dinner to get another drink and waited for five minuets to get served, and at the time there were no other diners . just some locals at the bar , Nice old building and clean decor, will try again because value for money, but need to sort out service,

Quaint little pub in the village. Lovely outside seating area..perfect for a sunny day. Great choice of food on the menu at reasonable price. Dishes were very well presented and perfectly cooked too. Only complaint is that the service was slow and we seemed to be forgotten about. Having said that we did eat over a long period of time having a late lunch so it wasn't very busy at the bar at all with minimal staffing.

We go to the fox once in a while and it's always been nice ; last time we went earlier this year it was about to change hands. So we went again on Friday and it was very nice. Good ambiance, nice helpful people. Pie and fish and chips all very good and pleasant and prompt service.we won't hesitate to return.

We were looking for somewhere new to go for Saturday/Sunday lunch (not a roast). Came across the Fox, friendly enough pub and the food was OK, could be good with a bit of tweaking but at the moment i would just say its OK.

A change of landlord and a coat of paint, has refreshed this place, Food still great value for money and tasty large portions, The chips are too die for. Great friendly staff that all know what there doing, Good selection of real ales which change regularly and the usual lagers and ciders. Never seen it as busy as it has become, a great local village pub

My wife and I have been to The Fox a number of times over the years and have always enjoyed it, particularly in recent years. The Fox changed hands earlier this year so we were keen to see whether it was as good as it was. We went there with friends recently and had a very enjoyable lunch. We sat out in the very nice garden and had a very enjoyable meal. The Fox doesn't pretend to be 'cordon bleu' and concentrates on providing good, honest pub food. The service was very good and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The Fox is a nice pub in the lovely village of Aspenden. We will be back.

Great old fashioned pub serving real ales and freshly cooked food. We went on fish night, my wife asked if her fish could be pan fried without the batter, this proved to be no trouble along with being good value. We started with prawns and calamari again fresh and excellent. Will go back!
