Golden Griffin in East Hertfordshire

We went for a drink in few occasions . Staff very polite and helpful. We rely enjoy the visit , the atmosphere. We will go again.

I'm new to trip advisor and never written a review before. So here goes. On entering this pub Saturday 30th March for what was advertised outside was a Karaoke night .We were met with an overwhelming stench of drugs mainly in the area by the dart board and toilets and where there is a small side bar. It was too much not to notice and a lot of people were commenting on the smell although nothing was done to remove the mixed group of men and women who proceeded to sit outside in the smoking area smoking drugs on the actual grounds of the pub. They then came in passing small bags onto others inside. Really not discreetly in our opinion and making no effort to hide it. We heard tell of a fight which had happened previous to us arriving and there was a very drunk woman outside who had been removed from inside who was still threatening people through the windows and doors. There is absolutely no security in this pub and only three young ladies behind the bar. Not one of them large enough in size to be able to stop a fight. God knows what would happen if this had escalated further. I thought ID had to be checked on entry now or I could be wrong. All that aside we did go to the other end and sit down away from that but people in that end were also saying its getting worse. We have nothing to compare it to as it was our first visit. The karaoke was very good I have to say which is why we stayed but in the end we left as we felt unsafe. I don't think we will be back unless the pub has some modicum of security in place. Which is a shame as the pub itself and the bar staff were nice.

The Griff is the perfect place to go if you like to have a few drinks, feel part of a gang, but not obliged to join in anything, or want to watch a little sport. Our dog is very welcome, we can always get a seat, the landlady, Lisa, and her team are fabulous. Every now and then it gets a bit loud, but that’s a small price to pay for everything else that’s great.

A friendly welcome is guaranteed at this lovely Hertford pub. Both from the bar staff and the regular punters. I enjoy popping in for a quick drink on the way home. But. whether you want to make friends, catch up on gossip watch football, jump in back in time with hits from the 80s, perfect you dart and pool skills or seek out a quiet space to do the crossword, this pub has the time and space for you.

A friendly pub where you are made very welcome. Good atmosphere and sport on tv!! Nice outside space with tables. A spacious interior.

Lovely staff and amazing quality of drinks👌🏻. Always fresh, always cold and always there! Also the cleanest pub 8’ve seen for a long time… Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

big outdoor area to enjoy fresh draught beer, friendly customer service and relaxed atmosphere. location is spot on to stop by after a walk around panshanger park. spacious indoor area is ideal for watching sports and there's even an old-school quiz machine!

The golden Griffin is the most local pub within walking distance is Sele farm and is family and pet friendly looks after there customers

Great atmosphere and lovely area outside to sit. Drinks.are not.cheap but the service is good and staff are great

Now I do attend this pub relatively regularly, and there are a couple of reasons why. Firstly the whole team there are very welcoming to everyone who walks through the door. Yes, it's not some trendy wine bar, but its a pub, and unashamedly so. It's got plenty of screens for sport, a pool table, darts and a good range of beers run through clean pipes.

I went in there for drink the other day was really friendly staff were fantastic couldn't do enough for me fantastic pub for football and atmosphere highly recommend

Awful estate public house, no character or anything to endear this boozer. Walk on by and come down into the town.
