The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

Stayed in Sudbury for the weekend and found the White Horse on Trip advisor so decided to give it a try for our evening meal. Excellent service. . Great food choices. I had the three tapas dishes and my husband had cod and chips . No room for dessert though . Friendly family pub with plenty of parking outside. Definitely recommended.

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere

Ordered coffee, but was disappointed as it wasn't as nice as usual. Not sure why, but we'll still go again as I'm sure it was probably a one off...

A lovely village pub. Food was hot and delicious and the bar staff was very polite and friendly (she made a fuss of our mini dachshund telling us that she'd recently got one of her own) Our only criticism is the actual pub was freezing cold on a cold, damp day, with lots of draughts from the poorly fitting sash windows and didn't feel like the heating was on. Not what you need on a cold and wet January day when one of your party is a frail 90 year old.

Like all Spoons pubs, good beer and food and CHEAP my regular watering hole

Two and a half years ago I came for a carvery whilst visiting my family (on holiday from Australia), this holiday the only thing on my itinerary apart from hanging out with siblings and their kids was to come back! Absolutely fantastic food, and friendly staff! See you in a couple of years 😁

Have eaten many times at The Grand Junction and have always been made to feel very welcome. The service from Emily and James was excellent as always.

Fantastic service staff very friendly and food was amazing our waitress was Marley told her it was my dad's birthday and told the chefs and they made him his favourite apple crumble so made his day would definitely go back thank you for a lovely afternoon

The worst pub when it comes to food, a nightmare. Portions are reduced, someone cares very much about stock in the kitchen but not about the customer and the quality of given food . Don't go there, it's a shame to spend money

Visited for a catch up with friends. We were disappointed to see that a couple of areas at the rear of the pub are now closed off from customer use. There is a lot of space elsewhere, however the tables are not very stable and the sofas are low for the table height. There is also some inattention to decor, for example an ornament on display at the front has been left broken, with sharp edges, for several months. The staff seem nice and helpful, however the landlord was inattentive and we had to wait while he finished chatting to a previous customer he was serving. He was also offhand when my friend was ordering drinks. Overall the pub itself has a good atmosphere, some previous reviews put us off eating so am unable to comment.

Every 2-3 months I and 3 very old friends meet here to start our evening of catching up and chatting, always great beer and service, cheers till next time

Nice Garden for the kids - Over priced drinks and the food is terrible. Really disappointing.
