The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

Got told the only option for the steak on the mixed grill was well done. Found that very bizarre. Staff were mostly lovely but the waitress downstairs said they don't serve food outside whilst the upstairs staff had no problem with us sitting outside. Very very strange place.

Chrissy was delightful and we had fantastic service . Food was good and the atmosphere great. We will be back 😁

Classic wetherspoons does the job

Went here on Sunday 1 9 24 was looking forward to a roast dinner sat down at our table and asked waitress for a roast dinner menu was told they had sold out of all roast dinners this was at 3.30 pm potion control at its best wont be going again

Nice pub with an open log fire. Food and drinks food.

We have just had a lovely meal today at the George, the staff were amazing, friendly, attentive and gave great service at our table. The atmosphere was lovely and we felt it is a lovely place to eat, good food and plenty to chose from and great prices too! Special mention to the staff! They are a credit to the Royal George

Sadly our experience wasn't very good at all. Booked in for 7pm but struggled to find anybody to check us in! We picked our own table and eventually found somebody to take our order. Two carvery meals along with another adult meal and 2 child meals. We had to chase up the other meals after about half an hour despite being told 10 minutes! As for the carvery meals......only ham/gammon left! That was inedible because of how salty it was and the rest of the carvery deck was dried out and also inedible! I'm sure they advertise as serving until 9 or 10pm so how could they run out of food? Very disappointing anyhow and the other meals weren't much better when they finally arrived. . I've scored 3 stars only because of the lovely staff working at this place on the day we visited. They were all lovely and attentive but they can only work with the tools that they are supplied with by their managers! If I could rate my personal plate of food from the carvery then it would be one star or less! I should have been warned in advance that by booking a table for 7pm would mean only the scrapings would be left on the carvery deck! . Also.......under staffing was very apparent but those that were working deserve a medal for their hard work and dedication for probably minimum wage.

Awful price gouged food. Nice enough place and staff but the food so far below the price they put up that it can't be anything but price gouging. The menus look really nice and the prices indicate very good quality. Veggie burger for £17.50 and fish and chips for £17.95. It came out suspiciously fast (which isn't an issue on its own) but my partner couldn't finish half the burger because of the taste and the fish and chips were something you'd get from a bad food van in a run down coastal town. Would have a drink there but food was terrible.

Lovely meal,we had lobster and belly pork,both meals were really lovely. Great wine and a cocktail with a kick..friendly staff..highly recommend.

It's a Wetherspoons pub food and drink always great value for the money spent.

The special Korean chicken was off. No Korean sauce, no chillies. Drab bowl of cut up chicken tenders arrived. The server apologised. We chose another sauce. Don't know if it would have been cheaper to order that but there was no refund suggested. Of several people behind the bar, one was serving and the rest were chatting.

Ciara is a excellent worker aswelll as Mitch amazing customer service made sure we had a excellent night and can’twait to go back and have more fun

A very very dirty hotel room, staff were lovely couldn't have been kinda dining room very nice but the room was absolutely disgusting.

The room was much too small (about 10 square meters), only one bed fit in and behind it was the bathroom. Cozy is something else. Light was linked to the bedroom because there was no light switch or socket in the bathroom. Window could only be opened a crack, mold in the shower tray, no hairdryer, not even upon request, mattresses completely worn out. Definitely disappointing.Mini emergency sink in the bathroom. The only bright spot is a large parking lot in front of the door and the sea behind it.
