White Hart in Huntingdonshire

We came to try the carvery last Sunday. As in a previous visit here a little while back, we received really nice, friendly service. The lunch is excellent value for money, the food very nice, and the whole atmosphere is so nice and pleasant. I would definitely recommend The White Hart to anyone.

Popped in for breakfast one Saturday morning,warm welcome ,nice coal fire burning ,comfortable surrounds,The breakfast menu was very good and competitively priced, it didn't disappoint either .I would return .

My husband and I stayed in St Ives for a week during our month long holiday around England. We went to The White Hart four times for food and drinks. The food was great - had a nicely cooked steak meal at a good price. The staff were friendly and welcoming and made us feel quite at home. Nice cosy ambiance as well. On our last visit we were delivered four cup cakes from the manager for our patronage which was a really kind gesture and much appreciated. And they were delicious!! The only staff members name I recall was Lindsey and she was just lovely as were all the staff. If you want to feel at home in a local pub definitely come here!

Tried Sunday carvery, apparently it was the first time they had done it. My husband had last piece of dried chicken and a pork chop and I had last piece of beef and pork roast which was fatty with the rind on. Potatoes were undercooked, Yorkshire pudding overcooked, cauliflower cheese not available which only left frozen mixed veg and some undercooked horrendously sweet roast carrots as an option. Needless to say we didn’t finish our meal. When I commented that it wasn’t the best I was told we had come in late (1:30) and that they would do more next time and they would get better. They were still allowing people in after us which meant they had even less choice. £30 for two carveries and two cokes, I’ll save my money next time. We won’t be back.

Disappointed. Most of veg was cold roast potatoes hard and inedible, Yorkshire puds over cooked. The best was the pork. Think it was the landlady when told about the potatoes said that's all we have for now. This was their 1st carvery . Apparently they had been very busy had a lot of walk ins. If you running low on food take your sign in. Another thing don't clear plates when people are still eating. It's very rude. No desserts on offer .

After the refurb and getting rid of the grumpy staff and stuff, the yorkshire lass 100% warm, welcoming up for a bit of banter, she puts a smile on your face and I like the picture of what happens when you upset her lol....... GOOD JOB GUYS 100%

Lovely place to eat. Can get busy at times so take this in to account when visiting.

The steak and kidney pudding was just awful. There was just meat and pastry in it with no gravy in the pudding at all. I tried to give the meat to my dogs, neither would eat it. The mashed potato and carrots were very nice, but it was spoilt by the pie. We did complain and the staff were very nice and gave us £5 refund.

Second visit to this pub in two weeks,food is excellent if it is still on the menu,freshly cooked so they do run out of some offerings. Beer seems to be a problem,only one ale on sale as it was last week,waiting for delivery they said,trouble was the ale on offer was off,terrible sour taste! Don’t be put off though the food is very good and the two ladies serving are a delight. The photos don’t look anything like the pub now,it is different from what I can see here.

We hadn't booked for Sunday lunch and were put in the second bar. Asking for two diet cokes, they only had one in stock and offered to get one from Tesco over the road...The whole place gave the impression that new staff had just arrived. A party of 6 and 4 came in for lunch and were turned away. The food was ok, plenty and hot.

The White Hart is a charming place to go for a well cooked, nicely served meal. We went there a few weeks ago for breakfast, Wetherspoons had a 40 minute wait and The Ivo lounge was packed. The White Hart was so much better in every respect, so we go there whenever we can. Can't wait to try the delicious options they offer for lunch and dinner, well cooked English food at reasonable prices, in a clean dining room with fresh flowers on the tables and smiling, helpful staff. The pensioners bargain lunches look well worth a try, amazing value.

The staff at The White Hart worked flat out to make sure our work Christmas party was a brilliant night. The food, service, table decorations and ambience were perfect for our event. Massive thank you to everyone at the pub for their work to make sure everyone had a great night. Best roast had in a long time. Highly recommend.

Stopped for a coffee. Helpful staff. Limited seating due to so many reserved tables, which is good for business.

Didn't enjoy their selection of beer or wine, with beers unavailable and wine too cold and tasteless. So, after one drink, didn't linger for lunch.

Stopped off at this lovely little village pub on the drive down to Camberley. The White Hart was the perfect country pub for lunch. We all chose different items off the menu from the Philly steak sandwich, a beef burger and a chicken gyros with a side Greek salad, each dish was tasty and filling.

Called in as looking for a pub garden to eat as my friend smokes. The first issue was the wait between ordering and the food arriving, 35 minutes. I asked when the food was arriving and was told they was busy and in would be two minutes which in fairness it was. My friend had the homemade lasagna which she said was excellent. By her own admission she is a fussy eater but said the food was delicious. I had the veggie chilli, there was not a lot in the dish and I had completely finished mine before my friend was half way. The food was nice but it was not very substantial. Would I return again? Yes but I would not order food and just enjoy the garden and a drink.

Superb Sunday dinner , four different vegetables and potatoes , lovely Yorkshire. Apple crumble was delicious.

I would be ashamed if i had dished this up to guests as sunday lunch! Hardly any veg, burnt yorkshires and no stuffing.

Very average in many ways. Sunday roast now has 2 cheap vegetables and cauliflower cheese (good) Gone are the days of a good plate full of food, shame as it was way better in past.

I’m not sure why this pub is on trip advisor other than the quaint atmosphere. Nice place to grab a quick pint.

Been having breakfast here for the last 4 months, most weeks . Good value and friendly efficient staff. Normal breakfast today . Bill should have been £17.85. Charged £22.80 as had one tea pot extra , no milk which gave 2 extra cups . Have not been charged this in the past when we have had an extra pot of 1 tea bag and hot water . £5.95 extra . With spoons across the road not sure this extra cost is worth it . Will stop me going back ..

The All day breakfast was amazing, we all had difference selection of 10 items and all plates were correct..

Very well priced spot for lunch. Me and the wife both had the lasagne as it looked amazing on another person's table. It didn't dissapoint and the chips were amazing. I also had the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, wow. Staff and atmosphere was great also.

What a little gem of a place! Very welcoming, the selection of Ales and spirits is very good! Clean, tidy and well looked after in my opinion! I've not tried the food! But it looked amazing as it was coming out of the kitchen!

We were attending our son's wedding weekend in the area so thought to save cooking once home after a long journey we booked a table for 6 for Sunday dinner. We all enjoyed our meals which turned out to be huge platefuls at a reasonable price for what it was. Our servers were very pleasant and we all had a great time. Pity we could not have stayed here instead of the awful accommodation we had elsewhere. Would certainly return if in the area.

First time in five years . Will definitely return. Lovely lunch. Homemade lasagne etc for me. The staff are helpful and full of fun. They now only do lunches so I am returning with a different set of friends.

This pub is situated right in the middle of St Ives .It has a lovely courtyard at the rear. We stopped by for breakfast and it was excellent ,lots of good quality choices and very reasonable .accompanying coffee was very good as well.

We visited this pub for lunch yesterday, sat in a nice quiet room in the pub- although it was very busy. The lady who served us couldn't have been more helpful. The food was piping hot and delicious. Very reasonable prices. Very well worth a visit. We will return soon

This pub is so underrated and has to face Wetherspoons across the road as competition but lovely people & service.

Called in for breakfast, it was absolutely delicious, good quality ingredients, cooked fresh ,choice of items, will definitely return. Also had lunch last week and the food was fantastic, main tip make sure you are hungry as they are generous portions.

Had breakfast there today and it was absolutely delicious. The size of the breakfast was big and it filled me up for the whole day. Will be defenetly visiting again. Best thing about is that you can choose items you want in your breakfast and size. 5 items, 7 items 8 or 9

One star is generous. Walked in this afternoon (30th april) and walked straight back out again. Horrible attitude from the woman behind the bar. She was rude to two other customers then made an unnecessary comment as I was walking out. Said she was stressed as she was on her own but the bar wasn’t busy. Don’t think she should be in a customer facing role. A real shame on the place as I have been in there previously for breakfast which was lovely but I won’t be returning again.

We used to visit regularly pre-pandemic and really enjoyed it but today we went and were not impressed so will not be visiting again 🤔

We had breakfast today (April 2nd) - all four of us. The pub was clean, cosy and welcoming. The bar staff pleasant and attentive. The full breakfasts were quite excellent, especially the two veggie ones. Probably the best full-English breakfast we have had in years. Highly recommended

We popped in here for breakfast after visiting St Ives Market and noticed their A Board sign outside advertising their breakfast, boy oh how we're glad we did! The breakfast is made to order, the ingredients are fresh and of very good quality and the prices are very reasonable, on top of that the lady that served us as well as the Chef were extremely lovely and welcoming people. The breakfast was genuinely superb and we'll definitely be back when we come to St Ives again, thanks!

Great staff who knew the menu and gave helpful advice. Thursday night was Thai food. It was delicious!

Went for Sunday roast pork with crackling… unfortunately the chef was unable to provide! So had beef instead, swimming in way too much gravy. Didn’t like the blaring tv on. The ladies bathroom had NO hot water. Probably won’t return.

We visited the White Hart today for lunch and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and although only one lady was serving, she manage the room well. We will definitely be going back when back in the area.

Food OK, but surrounded with Tv's all showing football with no alternative place to sit and eat lunch. We shall not be returning. Might as well use Wetherspoons on the other side of the street.

Lively and reasonably priced beers. Ran out of my first choice though.

We booked a room at this pub/hotel in order to attend a friends wedding locally. On arrival the room looks nothing like the pictures on the website, it was shoddy, tired, & in desperate need of an renovation. We also had a shared bathroom with 2 other rooms which is not mentioned anywhere on their site. We decided to make the best of it & left the hotel at 3.50pm. On the board outside the opening times were clearly shown as 11am-12 midnight. We returned to The White Hart at 11.30pm to find the place shut up. We went round the back & there were no doors open, no lights on & none of our keys opened any external door, believe me, we tried. So there we were, with no way to access our room, where my husbands heart medication was, no where to stay. We'd both had alcohol at the reception so could not drive anywhere. Thank god my husband had his car keys in his pocket or we would have been on the streets for the night. SO WE HAD TO SLEEP IN OUR CAR!!!! We returned to the hotel at 8.30am & there was nobody there, the place was still locked. We had breakfast at Wetherspoons (thank goodness for them) & returned at 9.40am to find a lady & a gentleman there & everything unlocked. The guy was the manager & we spoke with him about our night in the car. Actually I swore & shouted a lot! He did apologise & said his staff should have been on site till midnight. We cannot be more angry. The staff are all inconsiderate, incompetent idiots with no idea of how to run an establishment. Needless to say we didn't pay for the room we didn't sleep in. And then had to drive all the way back to Derbyshire.

Walked in at 12 to book a table for Sunday dinner at 2pm. Returned at 1:30 just to be told that they forgot to carry out a simple request. Rather than apologising proceeded to blame us for their incompetence.

This is a lovely old pub we had Sunday lunch unfortunately we're weren't impressed, we decided to have a small portion which was chicken but not slices a wing and leg personally I prefer actual meat not pieces no flavour in the meal overall, our friends had beef which was pretty rare, the best bit the potatoes!

I found the Staff rude. There was hardly any beer available. We ordered food and then half hour later was told they had run out of two of the meals. Won't be coming back.

OK for lunch. Not a fan of TV in the pub always on for no reason. Lacks character inside.

Nice staff, attentive and helpful. Food was unremarkable; I ordered mussels and chips, I got a lot of chips and a few mussels on a plate, not what I expected. The covered area did allow smokers, a big issue for my asthmatic wife and unpleasant to have around food.

Had a very nice brunch. The pub hasn't changed too much in the last 40 years since I was young. Nice brunch!
