I’ve had bad Aperols in the UK but this is by far the worst. Literally coloured water with ice in it. Proper mockery for £9. Save your money and have tap water instead.

Went a few weeks ago lovely, unfortunately this Sunday the food was not good and the service was non existent, sitting with empty glass for over half an hour the dinner was over hour after ordering Sorry so t be going again

An unpretentious country pub, set in pleasant countryside. The building is attractive inside and out, and the service is good. There is a large convenient car park. I have only been on the first Tuesday of the month, when the Jensen Owners' Club meet in the evening, and it is very quiet and relaxing.

Lovely place. Food is nice. Services are prompt. We really enjoy going there.

The Sunday Roast was fabulous but all the food had cracked black pepper on it . My granddaughter had a child’s meal and the peas were also covered in ground black pepper. Not everyone likes pepper so menu should indicate if it has it on the food and customers can then decline. Otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable visit. Lovely staff as well!

Its a very friendly atmosphere that greets you especilally the cosy fire. The menu is varied and covers all options. I ordered duck buns as my starter and it said plum sauce, but they had added their own twist which was a bit too spicy for me so l was a little disappointed with that. Main course beef baguette the beef was extremely tender and the flavour was wonderful. The food is well cooked and presented beautifully. The prices are fair. Very enjoyable meal.

Saturday mid-afternoon Insanely good food. Had a basic double cheeseburger with chips, done to extremely high standards. The fish pie was also divine.

I wish to bring to your attention an experience I had at your pub last Sunday, wherein I found the service provided by the elderly blonde lady attending to us to be rather disappointing. It is uncommon for me to encounter such an attitude from pub staff. The manner in which she looked at us and communicated made us feel unwelcome and quite disheartened. I sincerely hope that the pub manager takes note of this review and implements appropriate measures to address the situation. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Really disappointing service from the lady who served us. Party of 6, our meal came to £176 which included £16 service added to the bill. We all worked out how much we owed inc the 10% tip and paid separately. At the end the waitress patronisingly said that she hopes it all adds up and that she would return to let us know (as if we weren't allowed to leave without her checking). She then came back to tell us we were 6p short - I couldn't believe it. The total included £16 tip! If I had known she was going to be so rude I'd have have tipped her zero. Anyway, thats 6 of us never coming back thanks to this lovely waitress' Essex charm.

Me and my family had pre Xmas dinner and a great great time there. The service the friendly staff were absolutely amazing... The food was delicious and going to recommend to all. Thanks for providing great service ..

Roast Pork dinner first class, unfortunately I’d had a starter as well so couldn’t finish my dinner (doggy bag) only one “gripe” one I of staff very quick to clear plates even with diners (at table) still eating!!!! Having said that happy to come back anytime 😋😋😋

Absolutely fabulous pub .I had my wedding reception here which was a small one . The staff were wonderful and the food was amazing.they were so accommodating and friendly.we came and decorated the conservatory the night before and staff were brilliant.we had a three course meal and I could not fault it ,I would definitely recommend the roast ,it’s the best I’ve ever had .

Great food lots of outside dinning space though inside with log fire a bit special!! Huge car park .excellent food been here many times never dissapoints

I came on Saturday afternoon and the food was excellent. I had the pigeon which was on special and it was lovely. The waiting staff were very friendly and I really enjoyed my meal. We will be coming back. I have also recommended you to others.

We thought we would try the Rabbits for a family birthday as the normal pub restaurant we go to in Stanford Rivers has gone down hill. We were very pleased to find that the Rabbits has pleasant motivated staff and the food was was very good with much more variety on the menu.

We have been here many times. Today we had no food, the menu has changed sadly, not for us. Aside from some noisy oiks it was very much OK.

Lovely venue, very friendly, great food

Nice old pub good garden and inside was comfortable. The food selection was limited.We went for burgers which didn’t disappoint. Was a quiet mid week visit and had to catch the waitress attention a few times. Overall a good experience. Would of been good to try an actual pie or the liver we had heard about neither available.

Came for a quick dinner, food was really good, service was friendly. They had what looked like a DJ setting up as we were leaving so was quite lively too.

Been living in london for 10 years never been to a more welcoming, warm and laid back pub. Honestly 11/10

Every time we visit here it's amazing. The garden is in the countryside with nice views and the food is always excellent. Had the Sunday roast today and it was one of the best we've had.

Beautiful pub well worth the drive if you’re a little further away. Old school style pub with a modern menu. Came on a Friday super chilled with welcoming locals. Deffo recommend.

Super place with lovely friendly staff and big portions! Fresh food and cooked to order, highly recommended. Loved the garden and views of the horses and fields after our late lunch.

Long wait (well over an hour) for terrible food. The warm stuff came out stone cold and the ploughman's was about £13 for about £1 worth of food. Maybe it was an off day . Staff and location were great.

First time at the 3 Rabbits for Sunday lunch/dinner drinks service OK food poor warm at best hard roast potatoes cauliflower cheese without the cheese thin gravy without body I went for the beef not nice if you want condiments you have to ask all in all good pub for beer not food.

Good pub, restaurant and garden with a view. My only negative is that the children's menu excludes drinks and desserts which makes for an expensive meal if popping in after work.

I visited this pub for a group birthday celebration and we reserved the outside seated area (under cover) which had loads of comfy sofas. There are also extra benches & tables in the garden area. There is separate a Garden Bar where you can order food & drinks (a special mention about the chicken wings; they were fab). The garden overlooks fields where horses roam and it was so peaceful. There is free parking at the front.

Food was OK but i don't think it's worth the money. Get a better roast at the toby carvery and alot cheaper. Also had constant flies around us when eating.

We came for dinner, it was very nice. It was very busy, best to book a table. Other seating and a bar outside in the large garden. Plenty of choice on the menu, all our food was well presented and nicely cooked. All the staff were very friendly and polite Clean toilets and plenty of free parking

My first time visiting this establishment. I found the staff were friendly and the service was superb. The food was so good, that we will be going back again very soon.

The service was great, speedy and friendly, seated quickly and greeted with a smile, the music was great for a Sunday afternoon, playing some great soul and 80s hits. I did feel that most of the items on my plate came out of the freezer, (don't say ROAST potatoes if they came out of a deep fat fryer) I was confused a little by the small disc that i assume was meant to be stuffing and wondered why it was with my roast beef. I was also asked if I would like some mustard, but not horseradish, which would be the tradition. I am not sure what the young lad on the next table thought of the food, or maybe he has a dog at home to help him out (see pic)

Nice pub. Stopped for a drink and to relax. Plenty of selections for those wanting a drink. Food was ample but after 9pm not serving so couldn't sample. Prices reasonable. Parking ample. Facilities clean. Access for all easy. Nice garden area to relax and plenty of tables. Friendly service. I would recommend

Awful experience brang my tea out cold then blamed it on the machine staff really rude didn't even offer me another just said deal with it think u need to sort ur stuff out charge me £5 for 1 cup of tea seriously sort it out I won't be coming back

Exceptional demand on an ordinary Sunday led to our order being overlooked. We waited 90mins before suitably embarrassed staff confessed. The food when it arrived was hot. That is the best that could be said for it.

Staff very friendly. Food was fantastic. Can't fault them at all.

First time for us, we found the waitresses very friendly and accommodating. As we are vegetarians we cannot comment on the whole range of food but the pizza we ordered was nothing special. The look inside the restaurant gives cold feeling. Spacious outdoor seating and plenty of parking.

Came here on recommendation from a family member. Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Staff really friendly and attentive despite it being busy. Glad we had a reservation as it was quite busy and filled up quickly. Good selection of food on the menu but we opted for the roast beef. Will definitely be back to try the main menu.

The 2 soups: potato & leek had no seasoning and was tastless. The Seabass had soggy skin, and I couldn't taste the basil oil. I have never eaten tough mussels before. The calves' liver was very good, apparently, and the vegetarian in our party was able to adapt the seafood linguine to vegetarian friendly. We sat in the conservatory, and we were on our own. The staff tried very hard to look after us. The cheese board was good. The coffee was luke warm. We've been here twice before, and the Sunday lunch/roast was excellent. Maybe it was an 'off night' tonight. I am not sure we will return unless it's a Sunday. It was a great shame. One more thing: you have to give FULL details of your debit/credit card when you book at weekends to ensure you either turn up or cancel your table. I felt very uncomfortable doing this.

Stopped by on a drive and had a gorgeous lunch, the food was delicious and the service was excellent, highly recommended

Friendly vibe at this Essex country pub.

Visited today at lunchtime with my long time friend John. We both had Sea Bream from the special menu. I have to say that this was one of the best that I have had. It was indeed something special. I don't write many reviews but this meal was so deserving of one. I can fully recommend the Rabbits to anyone as a comfortable and special pub in rural surroundings.

My wife and I had a meal at the Rabbits pub today and it was lovely. We had the sharing platter for starter and we ordered the biscoff cookie dough and the donut bombs for dessert. It was delicious, the atmosphere was really nice and both of our waitresses were very friendly and helpful. If you want a nice country pub try here. :-).

Like a fish bowl. Stank of fish. Can't comment on the food only stayed for one drink. Still doesn't change after owner review the place stinks of fish and its tiny your all sitting on each others laps. Altered the food review as can change with a new chef.i think I'd rather stay indoors than go there.

Awful place, highly wouldn't recommend dining in here. No mention of prices on the menu Food unacceptable when it arrived cold. And for the price it wasn't worth even half. No wonder it was empty. If you want to try this place I'd say don't waste your time or money

Never had a bad meal at the Rabbits, lovely food great hard working staff. Celebrated my 50th birthday meal here back last May, (Over 30 people) the staff were great food was excellent. We pop in on Sundays when we can as the Rabbits do the best Roast dinner for Miles around.

Worst experience in a pub, we spent quite a few quids and basically we were thinking to order more drinks when we were asked to leave that some else is waiting for your table.

We were on our way out towards Epping for dinner, from Hornchurch, when we passed this pub and decided to save ourselves some time and give it a go. We're very glad we did, the ladies ordered pies, I had the red curry and my son had a burger. All of the food was spot on and the landlady couldn't do enough for us despite having a few people in the bar watching the England World Cup game. Thanks, we'll definitely be back now we know where you are.

Me and my partner enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch here today, I even ate my parsnips! Staff were all lovely and looked after us very well! Pub is in a stunning location and very cosy with an open fire! Looking forward to coming back soon

Booked last minute after trying to find somewhere locally for a roast. Can only say wow, most definately the best roast we have had out in a long time! Delicious. Not cheap but where is nowadays. Highly recommend.

Had a meal today, 12 people celebrating my son's 40th birthday. Food was lovely service was excellent was not rushed at all highly recommend

The food was not bad, the experience in the pub I expected much more since I had many very good recommendations about it, but it was not like that but in itself it is good for the views and the attention of the waiters was very, very good

Disappointing Sunday Roast. Was presented with parmentier potatoes not roast potatoes without any pre-warning from staff and when questioned, the staff said they didnt know until chef’s were plating… Yorkshire did not appear or taste home made. Someone ordered the pork belly roast and it was unedible given that it was 95% fat (not exaggeration) Unsure on how this roast was supposedly recently rated #4 in Essex. Some honesty from the staff would have been appreciated instead of feeling like we were blind-sided.

Booked this evening for a family roast of 10 people, was told on the phone that there was only 2 lamb left but plenty of everything else. We arrived at the venue with 9 of us as one person was not feeling very well, they was first rude about there only being 9. We then ordered drinks and was rushed to order our food, service at this point was already not great but we carried on, we ordered the dinner and the dinner took around 40 minutes to turn up, it then arrived which was by far the worst dinner I’ve ever been served, swimming in gravy, there was no roast potatoes which we wasn’t told at any point and served breakfast potatoes WITH A ROAST DINNER! the pork was entirely fat, the veg was completely soggy with the amount of gravy over them, the whole dinner completely disgraceful which not one person ate their dinner. We then refused to pay our bill which we was told we had to wait for the manager to turn up as the staff was terrible at dealing with the situation. However the manager turned up and was just as disgusting, disagreed with everything we said, refused to take the dinners off the bill and we ended up with a bill of still £140! THE MOST DISGUSTING STAFF, DISGUSTING FOOD, DISGUSTING SERVICE. and kindly as we left the restaurant a man kindly gave us a death threat. DO NOT GO THERE! SAVE YOUR MONEY!

SUNDAY ROAST DO NOT GO pork was so fatty it was no meat on it. Unless you like fat. Stuffing was so burnt looked like coal. They couldn’t even give us roast potatoes Waitresses was so rude not very good at customer services Worst roast dinner I’ve ever had

Super country pub with very attentive staff and great food. We dined on Christmas Eve where the pub was very busy, but the service was great and the food fab. Also great for the youngsters with a good children's menu 😃.

Lovely atmosphere and really friendly welcoming staff. The sharer platter was simply incredible!! The wings were the best we've ever eaten alongside the halloumi bites! The mains were absolutely delicious and everything we ate tasted fresh, especially the crispy batter on the starter and onions rings.

Warm welcome on arrival taken to our table but the lady wasn't happy with it as she thought there wasn't much room for us so we were given a bigger table which was excellent service was warm and friendly and food was excellent definitely recommend this Pub

I loved it here, I would definately come again! The staff were kind and helpful and the food was lush! Outside of home, the roasties were the best ones I've ever had. They were generous with the portions and weren't tight with the meat. Probably could do with a bigger plate to put all the food on as it was presented as a mountain but I don't want to nit-pick as I'm more grateful for the big portion and quality. I can't fault a single item on the plate. Big thumbs up from me! I highly recommend it!

We were passing by mid week and decided to stop in due to the lovely Christmas lights and warm look to the place. As soon as we walked in we were warmly welcomed. The fireplace made it feel lovely and cosy and the Christmas decorations were great. Our meals were fantastic! I had the beef and onion pie with mash, veg and gravy and thoroughly enjoyed everything. The prices were a little high but after the amazing meal it was well worth it. The service was fast and friendly and I would definitely go back.

Came with my husband for a Sunday roast on a dark, wet afternoon! Pub was very busy, which is good to see. We ate in the conservatory, it’s nice in there but it’s so ridiculously noisy. Everyone is shouting to make themselves heard and unfortunately it gives it all the ambience of a school canteen. The roast was really nice, although for £18 the cheap frozen Yorkshire was a bit of a let down. Really tasty plate of food though. Service was very pleasant, the staff are lovely. We waited so long for dessert that we had to ask them to cancel as we had to go, I think this was a genuine oversight, which happens. I would go back again, but only if I could eat in the main pub, or more likely, go back in the summer and eat outside.
