Wonderful homely pub with really friendly staff.

Great food at reasonable prices

Had the carvery the only ok thing was the meat ,the potatoes were cut to big and not cook enough the parsnips where to cut to big and had a nasty taste the cauliflower cheese was more like just cauliflower then buttery leak was too watery and the service was none existsant was waiting around ages to pay the bill wouldn't recommend the carvery at all

I never felt more intimidated in my life. Walked in to the pub never here before and refused to serve me for no reason in front of other customers I believe they are very racist against Irish people and I will be handing a video to a solicitor and posting a video on here. Racist

Well for a pub it was lively enough for a Sunday afternoon considering the current economic climate. The beer was cold enough but took nearly 20 minutes for the waitress to prompt the bar staff to pour it. The food took a reasonable time to arrive from ordering, going for a traditional pub burger it was a disappointment as it was devoured within 4 bites and the portion of chips was less than a medium sized portion, price has gone up but the portions shrunk on size. In all it was a pub lunch that wasn't nothing to sing about till later on that evening when my arse was sing all night due to the meal leaving me gassy

Enjoyable experience, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great food and good range of drinks / beers on tap. No need to book ahead, can turn up and be seated. Pub is dog/animal friendly and as a result saw quite a few dogs happily inside! They have a normal menu and also a specials menu which we ordered from. Having been a few times now the portion size sometimes differs (possibly a different chef :) ). Also seemed to not have quite a few different things on the menu when we went to order so double check to avoid disappointment! Saw they do hosting for large groups too for anyone looking for larger group bookings. All in all would recommend!

Went for Pie Week with family and we all had a pie. All agreed it was very good and cooked nicely. Friendly staff and reasonably priced.

We had a big family birthday meal - 19 of us. The service was great and the staff are so helpful and friendly, really great service. Thank you for a lovely evening we all enjoyed very much

I'f you have a dog,do not go to this pub.... it is meant to be dog friendly I was just totally humiliated in front of everyone because my dog took a wee. I cleaned it up and the whatever behind the bar was disgusting and rude and made it clear that my dog was not welcome

The staff are lovely, the food is delicious and they usually have the rugby on which is fab. We always stop by on the way back to Enfield when we take the bike out and today have come out just to come here ☺️☺️

Lovely friendly pub. Food really good value and fabulous cheeseburger and chips and fish and chips, highly recommended and staff are super friendly. Dog also welcome to eat in bar area. Server offered water bowl. Such a nice pub.

Went there for new year eve with my family we booked venue the festival dinner was under cooked vegetables the meal was up standard for a new year's meal the manger after complaining about the meal gave has a discount no charge for the drinks we had to pay for the meal was expensive very poor we left after out meal didn't stay out the new year we went home celebrated at home

First time ever going out for lunch on Christmas Day. Plough you didn't disappoint. Warm, friendly atmosphere, excellent food and service. Relaxed atmosphere and no real rush. We booked late which meant we had to eat at 12.30 which was too early for us but as we took a cancellation we didn't have a choice. You've convinced us to eat out next Christmas but we'll be sure we book earlier.

Booked a early Christmas Dinner for today 2nd December. Best pub Christmas Dinner I've had over the years in different pubs. Starters and dessert were also good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would highly recommended

Went in for Sunday lunch burgers were good ceasar salad lettuce wasn't fresh not enough dressing had to ask for more which took ages to come. Deserts were ok bit enough ice-cream in the raspberry sundae

Bad experience upon turning up and asking for a table for 2 the young lad mentioned 1 hour 20mins? So we left A bit confusing when we walked back through the car park it was half empty so I phoned up and asked them how long for a table for 2 whereby he mentioned straight away? What he meant was we was only allowed the table for 1 hour 20mins Very bad communication & not very clear, we have never walked into a pub then been told about how long we can stay for? Especially as we only wanted a quick lunch Baffling experience especially as we told him we cannot wait for a table for over 1 hour then we walked out, he heard clearly what we said with no response If you cannot communicate clearly this is not the job for you

Really nice spacious friendly pub with a lot of outdoor dining and drinking space. We went in for the Sunday carvery, we didn't realise it was a carvery so it was a welcome surprise We were welcomed in by one of the servers, Amber. Great smiley welcome, she was attentive and friendly and seated us without a booking. The carvery was great, definitely no room for dessert, which was a shame because the dessert menu was tempting. It was just over £30 for 2 roasts and 2 pints of soft drinks, Bargain we thought. If we are in the area again we will definitely come back. It's just 5 mins from the forest but much less packed than the forest pubs and free plentiful parking too

went there Today with a friend for the Sunday carvery. was the worse lunch i had in my life ! my friend who is a oap couldn’t eat it. the potato’s was overcooked and hard could break your teeth with them very hard to cut with knife . the meat was the same . to be honest didn’t tell the staff at the time of the meal as my friend didn’t want to complain. bit as the meal was so bad i told the member of staff at the end and bless him he did decide not to changed as for one of the meals .

Nice welcoming staff with a good atmosphere. The best chicken burger ive had in a while.. I would like to try something else on the menu . Dated decor could do with a lil spruce up. But I would definitely return here.

Just up Sewardstone Road next to the Premier Inn. It's a large Inn with plenty of parking and outside area. Popular with group parties. I have visited the Plough many times for parties and events. The food is consistent, and the price is reasonable. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's not what you might call a local but more of an event place. It can get a little rowdy when there and a number of groups celebrating. The decor is starting to look a little tired. Overall, it's fairly decent.

I didnt taste the food but nice place for chilling .

Visited for Lunch with friends around 12.30 wasn't very busy but it is a Thursday. Friendly staff and quick service, the cheese and bacon burgers were very nice well cooked, presented and hot unfortunately my friend had ordered a jacket potato with tuna which was obviously left over from a previous day and re heated which was pretty bad actually was dark dry and tough, the staff were very apologetic and because she didn't want anything else gave her a full refund so apart from that disappointing potato a very nice place to visit...let me add previous visits have been faultless so will definitely go back again.

Wanted a quick lunch - food was terrible - waitress was lovely!

No Ale only Lager , Cider or Guinness and they had run out of Mustard to go with my tough rump steak, the waiter said he had looked everywhere but couldn't find any mustard anyware !!!

Couple of things missing from menu but overall food was great, hot, tasty and good portion size. Onion nests were amazing.

My fiancé and I were passing and thought we would pop in for lunch. A few tables were reserved but we managed to get a table. We had a lovely afternoon, food was lovely and was a nice atmosphere. Will be back again soon.

Visited today for a carvery lunch. Staff were friendly but appeared under staffed so their was long waits.The carvery in general was just ok. Parsnips were deepfried not roasted,The meat was tasty( I had rst beef and turkey )but the Yorkshire puddings were rock hard. Couldn't even cut with a knife. Roast potatoes were not very tasty and the stuffing was hard and crunchy. I ordered a raspberry ripple dessert and the ice cream was all melted when I received so it was a slush topped with cream. The music playing was the radio station kisstory which was intrusive to our conversation and not appropriate to listen to whilst having Sunday lunch with the family and tbh because of the type of music playing we were glad to leave.

Great meal great service needs some more up market choices on menu.suggest more fish shellfish starters and mains

We had our baby shower here and it was super chilled event made easy by Dan & Nats assistance. We were able to get an area reserved and the food was great!

Great place to take evening pint and something to eat

Huge thankyou to Ellie! Best waitress i’ve had, nothing was too much for her. Was initially served by a young man who only communicated through grunting. Very rude. We were then taken over by Ellie. Just a lovely girl and she definitely made up for the bad experience we got at first. All 5 stars are for Ellie.

Nothing really bad to say, but nothing exceptional either. Service, considering how quiet it was could have been faster. Pub grub. Not as nice as the Bakers Arms which is only half a mile away. That was fully booked. Getting into the Plough was easy. This should tell you something.

Visited with my elderly dad who is a joker and very friendly to all- the server lady treated him with contempt and was extremely rude to him when he asked a question about the menu- I stepped in and told her to stop. Absolutely awful service . Visited on 24 May - lunchtime

Excellent, my wife's birthday bash (81!). We were a large family group, and the staff were really helpful, professional, and cheerful. The food was also very good.

Visited this evening, service was slow at first. Food arrived and was not great - typical ‘heated up pre made rubbish’ that tasted like a ready meal from a supermarket. Finished that and was still hungry due to small portion size so thought I’d brave a desert. Waited for a member of staff to come back… and waited, and waited. After about 45 minutes since finishing the main I went and asked someone. Pudding came and was better than main but still like a microwave budget supermarket item. Finished that and waited, waited, waited to pay…. Gave up and went to the bar to…. Wait because there was only one member of staff behind it. Overall, you get the picture. Lots of waiting for low quality microwaved rubbish.

Just had a lovely relaxing lunch , staff was very helpful and made our experience a pleasure with no pressure to order , Jess was very helpful and all staff so friendly, will definitely be going back.

I had to come and write a review as were blown away by how fantastic the lady that served us. I think she was the best waitress we have ever had and we eat out alot. Louise was new apparently but you would never tell that. We were a large party and she did so much to accomodate us on a very busy night, nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic too and great value! Thank you for a lovely meal!

Lovely country pub feel… good beer and the food is good value and very tasty

Nice pub decent sized car park but that is it!! My husband chose the steak Pie and I chose a burger. His pie was totally indifferent with soggy pastry. My burger was so over cooked it crumbled and was dry. Service was sloth like even though they were not busy. When we eventually got waiters attention to try to order dessert the forest fruit berry waffle was unavailable as was the Eton Mess. We just gave up at this point, paid our bill and left. Will not be going back. Such a pity as the pub itself is nice and looked clean.

Carvery Food was very dissapointing,looked like boil in the bag turkey, potatoes were anaemic, the vegetables weren't much better and the steak and ale pie was definitely not worth 11.95, very small portion of mashed potato and a couple of peas, more like a kids meal.our drinks sat on the bar for at least 5 to 10 mins because waitress was more interested in having a chat with a colleague, will not be going back anytime soon

We had a great experience at the Plough, found it while we were visiting friends. Jess was really helpful and engaging, she even advised us about where we could go next. Great food and brilliant value for money! We cannot recommend highly enough.

We had been visiting The Plough at times after work and really could not have written anything negative about the place so I reserved a table for 15 to celebrate my birthday. So sorry I had to write this but the service I had received in the past was brilliant compared to how it was for my birthday meal. The food was nice ( so thanks to the chef) but we had to keep asking where our main meals or drinks were as we were not receiving what we had ordered and kept having to wait. The front of house staff were either tired or didn’t care about the service given. Had we had received the foods/drinks as expected we would have stayed longer and spent more money. A pregnant lady took my booking when we were visiting The Plough and on numerous occasions she had done over and beyond to keep us pleased offering good customer service . It might have been different if she had been working that day Thank you

Just average, we came here as we found our usual haunt at the Bakers Arms closed for refurbishment It wasn't an adequate replacement, the food was okay but tastes microwaved. Staff friendly enough but sadly wont be returning

We had lunch here with some dear old friends of ours on 20th April and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was excellent and arrived quickly, the young lady who served us was lovely and all of us had a great time. Thanks to everyone at the Plough the whole experience was top notch.

Went for lunch today with some friends,food was outstanding..staff were friendly and very accommodating..def go back again X

The menu was surprisingly interesting and accomodating for a group that included a serious meat eater, a vegetarian, a vegan and a gluten intolerant. All the meals were hot and tasty. Lime chicken, halloumi, pasta Alfredo, bangers &mash. Several gluten free and vegan puddings which is remarkable! Delicious sticky toffee pudding and passion fruit tart. The staff weren't especially confident at understanding the menu permutations so maybe spend some time training and then really shout about how well you cater for dietary needs.

Staying locally to The Plough my brother and I recently visited The Plough for an early evening meal, as we have done in the past . We each ordered a ‘small’ battered fish and chips. After a few minutes’ wait we were told that the small fish portions had not been delivered so we were asked what we wished to order instead. I made the suggestion that we could be given a ‘large’ portion for the price of a ‘small’ size and eat what we wanted, but my suggestion fell on deaf ears and was met with no response. So I nstead we ordered the scampi. Surely a better solution would have been for you to have provided the slightly larger portion at no extra cost. You would have 2 satisfied customers, rather than 2 customers who left feeling disgruntled and not wishing to return in the future.
