The Town House in Broadland

Two and a half years ago I came for a carvery whilst visiting my family (on holiday from Australia), this holiday the only thing on my itinerary apart from hanging out with siblings and their kids was to come back! Absolutely fantastic food, and friendly staff! See you in a couple of years 😁

A Delightful Sunday Experience Today, I enjoyed a delightful Sunday carvery accompanied by a refreshing glass of orange juice for lunch. The turkey was moist, and the roast potatoes and vegetables were cooked to perfection—all for a reasonable price of £15.64. My friend and I opted to have our lunch outside to soak in the lovely weather and the beautiful view. Although finding a parking spot can be a bit challenging, I was fortunate enough to secure a space right outside the premises. Overall, it was an enjoyable afternoon, made even better by the welcoming staff!

Table for 9 people - only 8 mains turned up. 9th main was a salad, and when it finally arrived it was a side salad, not a main, but the server had gone before we had chance to query it. Eventually a main salad was delivered with an apology that the chef hadn’t noticed it was a main. Ordered dessert and 3 of them didn’t turn up. Waitress said she had to go and make them herself! This place was always our go to for a carvery, but no more. It has gone downhill quite considerably and we won’t be back.

Food and drinks were really good was lovely sitting outside in the sun. Marc was really helpful and the service was great.

Friendly staff, lovely food and affordable prices

Had a one night stay with my 2 daughters, family room is huge! Lovely and clean with beautiful views over the canal. Breakfast was delicious and great value for money! Staff Lovely and friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay again!

We met friends here for the unlimited breakfast and it was spot on. Matt was behind the bar and gave us a warm welcome. We had 2 adult breakfasts amd a child's breakfast, 2 of which were vegetarian. At £7.49 for the adults and £5.49 for the kid, it was superb value for money. Lovely view over the river too. Highly recommended for a decent, no frills, unlimited breakfast with great service. Thanks to Matt and the blonde lady (we didnt get her name!) who were looking after us, they were great!

Visited today for lunch, I must say we enjoyed the carvery and the ambiance. However, we are disappointed with the lunch my daughter was served. She loves mac n cheese and she would order it in any restaurant we go to and she’d finished it every time. However, this is the first time my daughter did not enjoy her mac n cheese. She said the sauce is watered down, I tried and it tasted like out of tin. And the pizza dough balls are tasteless and over all doesn’t look appetising at all, also had to wait long for it to be served for a bowl of mac n cheese. Not worth it for the price either. She did not finish it and ended up buying her something somewhere else instead. Not the kind of Sunday lunch we were hoping for all of us unfortunately so giving 2 stars for food for that reason.

Awfull spent evening with a few ants on table a dead wasp also. Went for Cheese Bacon Burger optiion well Burgers thin and not tasty a small bit of bacon and cheese.Waiter collected meal after we finished asked what was wrong with food.On finishing drinks found the Manager a full refund was given wont be visiting again.

Great place to go and relax by the river

Pub and hotel were both great! But I do have to mention especially that Mark was wonderful, he was super helpful and was working really hard! Thank you so much Mark!

Very nice carvery, friendly service from Qliana & a relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful setting by the river too. Would absolutely recommend.

We had the carvery which was nice. The potatoes were a little dry but apart from that, it was a good carvery. The ice cream sundae afterwards was also good. We were served by Yulia who was very polite and helpful.

Great vibe, felt very comfortable and welcomed. Music wasn’t too loud so we could all enjoy conversation. They were able to seat us quickly. Charlie was very helpful dealing with allergy issues. Uliana and the team were exception at looking after us at the table, keeping it clear of dirty plates and ensuring everything was to our satisfaction.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. The carvery itself was exceptional. The meats were cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The selection of vegetables was fresh and plentiful, and the gravy was rich and delicious. Everything was piping hot and served with generous portions. I also loved the variety of sides and the dessert options were a real treat to finish off the meal. It was a great experience from start to finish, and I’ll definitely be back for another round of their amazing carvery. Highly recommended!

Lovely food, good prices and range of food and drink. Lovely service from the manager Charley and server Uliana. Went over and above for our gluten free guest.

All staff very friendly and happy, especially our waitress Yuliana.

Although I ordered our carvery through "just eat!" I have to admit I was impressed. The food was delicious, especially the mash potato! The beef was melt in your mouth & the gravy very tasty. Will 100% be going for a carvery there very soon. Will add that the packaging is great as can be recycled & had obviously been well thought out. Great job at "Stonehouse " from the Townhouse. Thanku 4 a luvlee Sunday dinner. Can't fault. 😋

Decided to have a carvery last minute and couldn’t fault the service provided by Mark. Drinks along with the carvery ticket were delivered quickly and super friendly. At the end of our carvery Mark approached us with a smile and offered a free brownie! Will definitely be coming back😊

Came in on sunday 16th March. We had to wait to be seated but lady welcoming was friendly and chatty. Ordered on the app really quick and simple. Carvery was the best I've had in a long time (that I haven't cooked). Beef was tender and juicy, roast potato's cooked to perfection. Topped of with and apple pie and a guinness. Couldn't ask for better

A nice Welcoming from Emily, mandy was helpful at the bar. Emily continued to be a hand of help considering her condition, nothing was too much for her and was always done with a smile! Will definitely return. A big thankyou to them two ladies.

Great value, turkey, roast beef and potatoes very tasty. The staff, Mark and Mandy incredibly helpful, will eat there again soon.

I've not been in for a while. It has improved drastically. The food was good the atmosphere was was nice. But the service by Charlie was exceptionally good.

Service amazing staff couldn’t be more helpful the kitchen lets this carvery down run out of gravy carrots, Yorkshire puds and mash had to ask and wait a while with meat on plate getting cold, it wasn’t busy either, didn’t offer much selection of deserts for gluten and lactose free only fudge cake which came with cream so didn’t bother with that I don’t think I would rush back

Arrived on time and was told that the kitchen had got a fault so they couldn't serve any food as they were trying to get someone to come and repair what every was wrong, so for our party was a waste of time and money, so we had to go and try and find somewhere else to eat

I come every week with my partner tonight sorry but food was shit and don't think I will come back no mash no roast potatoes and all veg was dry as desert sorry but being honist double whisky was waterd down with no ice and tiny dash of coke

Brought my nan in for lunch today, nothing was too much trouble, nan said was the best carvery she had in a lo g time very moist turkey and good selection of veg. She's happy do I'm happy. Staff very friendly too.

Went this evening to try as haven't been in years - my 9yr old wanted a burger which we waited for nearly 45mins for - manager apologetic as they had offer on pizza tonight. Carvery was OK, should have been a choice of 4 meats but both beef & Gammon had run out by 6.45pm - some of the mash was hard on top due to heat lamps, stuffing was dry & hard. We had a voucher but still feel that it was overpriced - won't be back in a hurry - wouldn't recommend & would choose alternative carvery restaurant over here.

Mark and mandy were friendly and chatty as were all the staff. Food was nice would be better if there were more choice of veg like normal cabbage and broccoli instead of pickled red cabbage (can't really moan at the moment as only £6 instead of £9.50)

Meal was good, service excellent and will be coming back again.

Brilliant food at exceptionally reasonable price, amazing customer service & lovely riverside views. The Manager (Charley), the chefs and bar staff are all so friendly, welcoming and efficient even when really busy. I regularly have meals at the Town House and always have a positive experience. Take today, even when he was obviously really busy, David the Chef, was friendly and humourous and went out of his way to cater for us, even bringing freshly cooked vegetables to our table. Thank you so much to all the staff who work so hard to make the Town House so brilliant.

Typical carvery. Mass produced food . Not much care and attention.

A fantastic carvery once again! This is fast becoming my favourite place to eat in Norwich. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. Drinks were really reasonable and a good selection. When we went up to the carvery area we were met by the head chef, Jay, who was very knowledgeable and really knew his stuff! We shall be returning very soon!

I had early evening dinner at the townhouse with my son. I have been many times before. The carvery was good value and of a reasonable standard. I would like to praise the staff, they are very efficient and exceptionally polite, and address customers in an appropriate manner, unlike many establishments today, where staff take it upon themselves to refer to me as "guy or mate" .

Boxing day carvery: service was quite slow as they were a bit short staffed. Starters and desserts were nice. The meat was very nice, although the stuffing was too hard to eat and the potatoes were quite over cooked. We did have a nice time though.

I had the carvery on Monday 6th January 2025 the time was rather late so I was expecting a carvery to be amazing however it was very good stuffing better then toby carvery also roast potatoes better then toby as well I found the food very good even though it was last knocking and the fact I was given the choice to look at the carvery before hand was good service I declined to look. But the special touch was they came out with some fresh peas for me which I was not expecting I got this carvery for 6 pound but I pay the full price and actually pay 10 pound even though it was last knocking I was very full and satisfied. I look forward to returning at a more decent time for the carvery. Well done the team.

Food was top notch and fantastic value. Couldn’t be bothered to cook so thought we’d give it a go. Staff were lush but you do order at the bar or by QR code. Jay, the chef that served us was wonderful; super warm and friendly. But to reiterate, the food was absolutely lush! Moist turkey and crispy as hell roasties. Will defo be coming back.

Ordered the two for £19.99 To be fair this is the only pizza myself my husband and our son have been able to stomach on the count that it's really not that greasy ! It was a little thin but that's besides the point totally worth the pounds and no aggressive heartburn to follow ! Thank you for a wonderful pizza.

On arrival I was quite upset because when we book our company Christmas dinner I was told we would have one table together and on arrival we had two separate tables. The manager on the day was the best and made all efforts to ensure we were together and changed the tables around to make us happy. I couldnt praise more. She was superb. Please ensure that this reaches the Restaurant and the manager in question, it's a blond lady, very competent and very very helpful.
