We had been let down by another venue. The Kings Head couldn’t have been more helpful despite our late arrival without a booking. Looked after us really well. Food was excellent and staff all very welcoming. Will def book and come here again. 👍

The main courses, Sole Veronique and Lamb shoulder, were both prepared and presented to a high standard. Desserts were simply excellent. Ale was pretty good too.

Food was served promptly and presented very well. The staff were excellent and attentive. Our group had 3 different dishes and all were delicious and the plates were virtually licked clean.

Absolutely stunning food, a beautiful cosy interior and friendly and helpful staff. Very reasonably priced. We ordered the katsu curry which was delicious, it was served piping hot. The chocolate tart was to die for. 10/10 can’t recommend enough, we will be back!

Another great meal. I had the the mixed roast (pork, turkey, beef) and It was delicious ! Even the crackling was perfect! Roast potatoes cooked to perfection too, and all the meat was nice and tender. My girlfriend had the the turkey with pigs in blankets and that was amazing too. A good atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A great little pub with amazing food. A great date night feast was had...

Lovely place to stay , room Lovely and clean, food selection brilliant Staff were friendly I stayed in the down stairs room which was really lovely a double bed plus a single bed in separate room had walk in shower and toilet The room was very warm and comfortable I just have one criticism the smoking area was outside the room and it was Quite noisy at times I can honestly say I would stay tere again

Lovely pub with great selection of beer on tap. Great food and good options. Staff are brilliant really friendly and polite. They were so welcoming to me my wife my dog and new born child. Location is amazing 10/10 would recommend on.

Wonderful lunch and an evening meal at the Kings Head. Fantastic choices on the menu and so welcoming to dogs. The staff could not do more to make everyone welcome.

Booked 1 night stay here as Daughter was staying at an activity centre down the road and this saved us early morning journey. Originally booked room with shared toilet/bathroom but decided last minute to pay a bit extra for upgrade to get room with en-suite. Price was top end for what were going to pay but still comparable or cheaper than many places in and around Norwich on that night. The room was really clean and smart when we arrived with plenty of space for me and my partner. Came with lots of complimentary tea and coffee which is great for a caffeine addict and also free bottles of water and freesat on the TV. We booked a table for a meal in the evening and both really enjoyed the food and the breakfast which came as part of our stay in the morning. Really generous portions, you won't be leaving hungry. The staff were all really friendly and attentive and our host was more than happy to help us resolve an issue with one of our blinds in our room when we asked at meal time. The place seems really well looked after and we will consider staying again in future if our daughter attends the activity centre again.

We went straight to the pub from BeWILDerwood, so we were a little early for dinner but they still provided the full children’s menu which was good. The waitress we had serving us was lovely, friendly and attentive. She was really good with the children too. We all enjoyed our food and had a lovely time. The service slowed once the staff had changed but it didn’t detract from a lovely family dinner as we weren’t really in a hurry. Good food, good location and a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend if you’re in the area 👌🏻

We would like to give this pub a review as people should know how good it is. The service was excellent - we did not have to wait long for anything and, importantly, the staff were smiling and friendly. The loos were very clean. As for the food, the menu is great with plenty of variety and the food was delicious. Well done to the staff!

One of the most comfortable overnight stays we have had in a long while. Very comfortable bed within a room full of character, spotlessly clean, a few stairs for those who are a little unsteady by not too bad, on to the breakfast ; well, where does one start? Let's say I am writing this review at 7pm and have only just had a small snack! It was fabulous, our waitress 'Shelly' bless her had a small mishap and my toast went flying, I felt sorry for her as she did for me and both laughed it off, what a memorable one night stay!! Have no hesitation in recommending this little gem to other lucky travellers Gill and Ken Challans

Nice Riverside pub. Decent food, nice ambience, was very busy when we visited. A little pricy for the portions we got, but comparative to similar places in the area.

Been to Norfolk broards a few times but never stayed here before. Because its closer to wroxham we would give it a try bed and breakfast for 2 nights and wow we couldn't find anything to moan about it's superb. Very comfortable stay and wow the breakfast was amazing and we had 1 evening meal and again amazing. The staff are so friendly and the rooms are very clean and so comfortable. Will definitely recommend this place and will be booking again in the future that's for sure. Thankyou kings head Coltishall

Our friends in London recommended The Kings Head after their recent stay in Cottishall. As we were staying in the same area we went on their recommendation. We were not disappointed. The three ladies serving were welcoming and attentive all night. We had a nice welcome which made us feel comfortable right away. There was a nice relaxed, cosy feel to the place. The food was superb, all freshly cooked (or as someone else said "no pings"). Delicious. We would definitely go back again when back in the area.

I had a lovely meal here, Scampi and fries was served hot and was so fresh and tasty will be back lovely area great scenery. Wonderful staff.

Great food, great venue, great vibe

Came here for breakfast, I had American pancakes served with berries and cream. This was amazing, I can't actually describe how beautiful this was. It was well presented and well portioned. I would highly recommend a visit, and I will definitely be coming back to try more from the menu! The staff were polite and helpful too.

Lovely pub, can't comment on the rooms. Lovely food and service. The parking was a nightmare though. No actual bays and apparently shared with another pub. Ended up parking quite a distance away on the road which wasn't great for my children or elderly father.

Absolutely superb breakfast! Spur of the moment treat, and what a treat it was. Hubby had full English, I had the breakfast bap and even the dog got an egg! Couldn’t fault this place, nothing too much trouble and knocks spots off any other place we’ve been to for breakfast.

The food here is exceptional. So tasty, the best in the village and area. Staff are friendly and the location is amongst an idyllic part of the Norfolk broads.

The menu is great, the prices very reasonable and the food is sublime. We had both versions of the pancakes and a bacon sandwich and will, most certainly be here again. The Kings Head never lets you down.

Nice pub and location, but the most expensive beer in the village (based upon what we sampled). Sat outside at five-ish the evening before the Euro24 final and the staff brought out a TV to screen the match later on. We were the only people there, but they left Wimbledon on at a volume that intruded into conversation. We went elsewhere. Oh, and very little space inside for the wet trade.

I've been twice in the last few months with friends for dinner and it's been great both times, the food has been excellent! A varied menu, and good quality. Last night I had the gnocchi, (a vegan dish although I don't follow a vegan diet specifically) and it was delicious! A big portion, I've had the rest for my lunch today.

Sunday roast excellent quality at a very reasonable price. Staff very friendly and helpful. 'First-time buyers' but will certainly come again.

Had lunch at this pub because the riverside one was packed. The menu was really nice, the service was excellent. Very nice and peaceful atmosphere and much easier to park the car. Friendly establishment, would recommend.

Booked an evening meal here as an alternative to The Norfolk Mead where we were staying. Nice food and good service. Wife had the fried skate with caper butter from the special board which she really enjoyed for £20. I had the 8oz 'steak' burger for £18 which looked quite minimal on arrival but was actually quite ample. Pint of Madri lager £6.00 and a 175ml glass of white wine £6.45. We shared a very nice sticky toffee pudding for £8.00. Bill including a tip was £70.00.

We have been to the Kings Head on several occasions and could not fault the quality of the food or the service. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. It is so nice to have somewhere local to go for a quality meal.

This pub had the friendliest staff a lovely atmosphere and absolutely wonderful food. We had lunch here and loved it. Probably need to book for evenings.

Nice place only had a couple of drinks

Fabulous restaurant /pub, two wonderful ladies playing host, excellent ale, fabulous food... Stunningly good especially the calfs liver and mash! Yummy yummy. WOW whot an extensive menu it actually puts many top London establishments to shame! The biggest thing for me was the superb Cleanliness and freshness about the place. Sexy, romantic, up market, with food to die for!! Good parking, dog friendly a massive thumbs up for mans best friend, lovely bespoke outdoor seating NOT the usual manky outdoor rickety grubby seating that lots of local pubs provide someone has not just spent lots of dosh on this place but actually put some thoughts into it! Highly impressive and i hope locals support it as they are very lucky in this cost of living crisis to have it!!

Sorry to be negative as there are so many good things, excellent staff and service, food good albeit a bit pricey. redecorated since last visit and refurbished gents' toilet excellent as thought I was in a different pub to the previous visit. However our evening and meal was spoilt by the excessive noise from a large group 10/12 with several dogs (2 huge dogs) from the bar. So loud we could not hear each other talk. To be fair the senior waitress moved us further away after our starters but still too noisy so it ruined the evening for us 8 and the other people eating in the bar section who were also visibly hacked off. My observation to the new owners is you have to choose whether to be a pub or restaurant as it is not big enough to be both. As a customer I recommend you should choose the restaurant to eat. Sad thing is that we won't go again as there are so many excellent places to eat in this area.

Brilliant pub with a great atmosphere created by the awesome staff. The breakfast is amazing, as was the huge Sunday roast and the beer is spot on too. Can't wait to visit again soon.

My wife and I came for an evening meal, and loved the pub! Food was outstanding; with a special shout out for the double cooked cheese soufflé and the scallops - both starters were out of this world!! The staff were lovely and we had a fantastic night. Thanks Kings Head team

Stayed recently in April 2024 and had the best stay! The room was wonderful, ensuite and everything you would need. Ideal to have the bar/food downstairs and the food was outstanding. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding, sun shining through and right next to the broads.....I would stay back in a heartbeat!!!

Usually lovely lady at bar. However...Don't ask for two hot chocolates at around 21.30 on a Friday, or strange things will happen... A bar lady I'd never seen before must have miss heard me as she acted like i'd asked her to eat a bowl of soup with a fork. She was not a happy bunny. Besides that, only good things to say!

Just had breakfast at the Kings Head this morning, lucent atmosphere and I think the best full english I have ever had. Flavours delicious and everything was beautifully cooked. I had just had a river swim abs this definitely warmed me up.

Historic well maintained pub with rooms. Serves a great breakfast from 0800 everyday. Worth a visit for any occasion inside or al fresco, meal or just a drink.

Philip and I had another fantastic Sunday lunch, the best Sunday roast you will ever find, we have tried others but nothing will ever match this. Tracy Dawn and all the staff are fantastic.

Food is incredible! Amazing quality and taste. I had duck breast and it's one of the best dishes I've had. All the flavours worked so well together. The hearty sticky toffee was top notch as well with plenty of sauce! Definitely be back ☺️

We booked a table to have lunch with my parents who used to live in Coltishall. The food was absolutely superb. We had the set lunch menu, and the quality of the dishes as well as the presentation was fantastic, it was cooked to perfection and tasted divine. You could see that time, care and precision was taken with each meal. The waiting staff were so friendly and warm. Definitely a place to visit. The rest of the a la carte menu sounded just as delicious.

We took my mum here for here birthday meal last week. The menu is fantastic, plenty of dishes to choose from and there is something for everyone. Staff were very attentive, happy to check whether drinks were vegan or not. A really great level of service. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, absolutely no complaints. A brilliant evening and thank you to the excellent staff for helping us with the somewhat heavy birthday cake. We will definitely be coming back again.

Absolutely amazing lunch here today. Prawn cocktails were beautifully presented and tasted equally good. Tomato soup was delicious and beautifully presented. All had the Poached Smoked Haddock and there aren't the words to describe just how great this meal looked and tasted. All members of staff were friendly and polite. We really enjoyed our lunch and will definitely be returning.

Disappointed that the vegan nut roast had significantly less on the plate than the vegetarian version yet was the same price. A few more vegetables would have made all the difference! And no vegan dessert other than sorbet shows a distinct lack of imagination.

For various reasons it's been a year since our last visit but, once again, we took advantage of the BOGOF main meal offer and, of course, we knew we would order the delicious calve's liver. We were not disappointed and there were quite a few of these main dishes going out of the kitchen which shows how popular it is. This time we did make room for dessert. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his sticky toffee pudding and I had the apple/sour cherry crumble. Both were excellent, albeit hubby had finished his before mine was cool enough to eat but that's not a complaint - far from it - as there's nothing worse than being served something cold which should be hot. Lovely to see all the work that has gone into the re-decoration of this venue and 5 stars to the staff on duty yesterday.

I had the best burger I’ve ever had. Locally procured which is an added bonus. The friends I brought with me were similarly impressed. Staff were lovely. It was so good I’m going back tomorrow!

I went with a group of ladies to breakfast which was very good. We all enjoyed it and will be retuning. This is the first time we had been for breakfast we have been for an evening meal which was also good.

We popped in for lunch today without a booking and received a very warm welcome. The pub was very cosy and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Sitting in the bar area with our 2 dogs, who were also made to feel very welcome (gravy bones provided). The food was delicious and the atmosphere perfect. Lovely walks nearby. We will be back no doubt

Group meal. Those who had the roast loved it. However, the fish was heavy with soft batter and the chips dry. The tartar was great as was the beer. The staff are the stand out feature, they were excellent.

Lovely venue, not too big, but it has two rooms, the food was excellent. We choose from the specials board and the dessert was included. Well worth the money. The staff were superb through out our meal with their service and were very friendly.

I pre booked a table and when we arrived the lady was very pleasant and welcoming, we ordered drinks and were taken to our table. The pub was very cosy and warm. We ordered food and it arrived not long after, the food was presented lovely and the portions were large, the battered haddock hung of the plate, the mushroom risotto was very tasty and I had perfect poached egg perched on top of 2 thick pieces of smoked haddock. Atmosphere and service was perfect, thank you

My wife and I visited our local restaurant, The King's Head, Coltishall for dinner and were not disappointed. We have been regulars for years, but the refurbishment has been done seamlessly and tastefully. It was a brilliant evening with the ever present Tracey being the perfect hostess. The meal was fantastic and a revamped menu means plenty of choice to suit differing tastes and budgets and importantly identifies local produce.. You can of course just pop in for a drink and an excellent choice of beers and wines are available. The new owners have done a great job and this is well worth a visit.

Another review covering a couple of visits (July, September). We had been previous customers prior to these chaps taking it over, so were curious to see how the transition would have gone. No fears - a great venue, and we've had two really good meals here. On the first occasion, it was shortly after re-launch, and there were a couple of 'stumbles' with the order. However the lovely waitress absolutely owned them, and it was handled extremely professionally. The carpaccio and toasted sourdough bread was excellent; lemon sole from daily menu was small but very tasty; carrot cake and ice cream was fantastic. 2nd visit involved an excellent burger, which was just right in terms of size of plateful. Fish n chips was a little watery, but absolutely huge! We definitely have this on our repeat visit list and have recommended it to friends, who also had a great meal.

If you haven't checked out the revamped Kings Head in Coltishall now is the time to do it. With a new head chef and a great a la carte menu it offers something different to the other pubs in the village. The burger is outstanding, best I've had for a while and I've also tried the venison main - tasted as good as the Mead. Prices are what you expect these days. When the fire on its lovely and cosy too.

Amazing liver bacon and onions all cooked fresh for you, amazing crispy onions with the liver and bacon . Service was good and no pushing on the drinks. Great setting cosy with real fire.
