The King's Head in Broadland

Just had breakfast at the Kings Head this morning, lucent atmosphere and I think the best full english I have ever had. Flavours delicious and everything was beautifully cooked. I had just had a river swim abs this definitely warmed me up.

Historic well maintained pub with rooms. Serves a great breakfast from 0800 everyday. Worth a visit for any occasion inside or al fresco, meal or just a drink.

Ordered food for my kids that come with a dessert but as we did not ordered at the same time had to pay extra for them

We only went for dinner but it was an excellent meal. The food was superb and the service was excellent.

Philip and I had another fantastic Sunday lunch, the best Sunday roast you will ever find, we have tried others but nothing will ever match this. Tracy Dawn and all the staff are fantastic.

Food is incredible! Amazing quality and taste. I had duck breast and it's one of the best dishes I've had. All the flavours worked so well together. The hearty sticky toffee was top notch as well with plenty of sauce! Definitely be back ☺️

We booked a table to have lunch with my parents who used to live in Coltishall. The food was absolutely superb. We had the set lunch menu, and the quality of the dishes as well as the presentation was fantastic, it was cooked to perfection and tasted divine. You could see that time, care and precision was taken with each meal. The waiting staff were so friendly and warm. Definitely a place to visit. The rest of the a la carte menu sounded just as delicious.

We took my mum here for here birthday meal last week. The menu is fantastic, plenty of dishes to choose from and there is something for everyone. Staff were very attentive, happy to check whether drinks were vegan or not. A really great level of service. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, absolutely no complaints. A brilliant evening and thank you to the excellent staff for helping us with the somewhat heavy birthday cake. We will definitely be coming back again.

Absolutely amazing lunch here today. Prawn cocktails were beautifully presented and tasted equally good. Tomato soup was delicious and beautifully presented. All had the Poached Smoked Haddock and there aren't the words to describe just how great this meal looked and tasted. All members of staff were friendly and polite. We really enjoyed our lunch and will definitely be returning.

Disappointed that the vegan nut roast had significantly less on the plate than the vegetarian version yet was the same price. A few more vegetables would have made all the difference! And no vegan dessert other than sorbet shows a distinct lack of imagination.

For various reasons it's been a year since our last visit but, once again, we took advantage of the BOGOF main meal offer and, of course, we knew we would order the delicious calve's liver. We were not disappointed and there were quite a few of these main dishes going out of the kitchen which shows how popular it is. This time we did make room for dessert. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his sticky toffee pudding and I had the apple/sour cherry crumble. Both were excellent, albeit hubby had finished his before mine was cool enough to eat but that's not a complaint - far from it - as there's nothing worse than being served something cold which should be hot. Lovely to see all the work that has gone into the re-decoration of this venue and 5 stars to the staff on duty yesterday.

I had the best burger I’ve ever had. Locally procured which is an added bonus. The friends I brought with me were similarly impressed. Staff were lovely. It was so good I’m going back tomorrow!

I went with a group of ladies to breakfast which was very good. We all enjoyed it and will be retuning. This is the first time we had been for breakfast we have been for an evening meal which was also good.

Lovely place. My wife and I visited with my 3 year old son, staff were very pleasant and accommodating, food was good quality and served quickly. Lovely relaxing and calm atmosphere with great interior taste in decor. Good sized carpark right outside too. Will return x

We popped in for lunch today without a booking and received a very warm welcome. The pub was very cosy and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Sitting in the bar area with our 2 dogs, who were also made to feel very welcome (gravy bones provided). The food was delicious and the atmosphere perfect. Lovely walks nearby. We will be back no doubt

Group meal. Those who had the roast loved it. However, the fish was heavy with soft batter and the chips dry. The tartar was great as was the beer. The staff are the stand out feature, they were excellent.

Lovely venue, not too big, but it has two rooms, the food was excellent. We choose from the specials board and the dessert was included. Well worth the money. The staff were superb through out our meal with their service and were very friendly.

I pre booked a table and when we arrived the lady was very pleasant and welcoming, we ordered drinks and were taken to our table. The pub was very cosy and warm. We ordered food and it arrived not long after, the food was presented lovely and the portions were large, the battered haddock hung of the plate, the mushroom risotto was very tasty and I had perfect poached egg perched on top of 2 thick pieces of smoked haddock. Atmosphere and service was perfect, thank you

My wife and I visited our local restaurant, The King's Head, Coltishall for dinner and were not disappointed. We have been regulars for years, but the refurbishment has been done seamlessly and tastefully. It was a brilliant evening with the ever present Tracey being the perfect hostess. The meal was fantastic and a revamped menu means plenty of choice to suit differing tastes and budgets and importantly identifies local produce.. You can of course just pop in for a drink and an excellent choice of beers and wines are available. The new owners have done a great job and this is well worth a visit.

Another review covering a couple of visits (July, September). We had been previous customers prior to these chaps taking it over, so were curious to see how the transition would have gone. No fears - a great venue, and we've had two really good meals here. On the first occasion, it was shortly after re-launch, and there were a couple of 'stumbles' with the order. However the lovely waitress absolutely owned them, and it was handled extremely professionally. The carpaccio and toasted sourdough bread was excellent; lemon sole from daily menu was small but very tasty; carrot cake and ice cream was fantastic. 2nd visit involved an excellent burger, which was just right in terms of size of plateful. Fish n chips was a little watery, but absolutely huge! We definitely have this on our repeat visit list and have recommended it to friends, who also had a great meal.

If you haven't checked out the revamped Kings Head in Coltishall now is the time to do it. With a new head chef and a great a la carte menu it offers something different to the other pubs in the village. The burger is outstanding, best I've had for a while and I've also tried the venison main - tasted as good as the Mead. Prices are what you expect these days. When the fire on its lovely and cosy too.

The breakfast was absolutely first class. The service was, as always, superb and the atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend this pub for breakfast.

Amazing liver bacon and onions all cooked fresh for you, amazing crispy onions with the liver and bacon . Service was good and no pushing on the drinks. Great setting cosy with real fire.

We recently stayed at the King's Head for 2 nights, as we were visiting Norfolk for a wedding. We were greeted with a smile from the friendly bar staff, and the recently refurbished bar and restaurant area is lovely. The bar meals were fantastic, as was the breakfast. Will and the team looked after us with excellent customer service, and we will be visiting again next time we are in Norfolk.

Just been to the Kingshead had the pie very nice to get a pie with meat in it. Very tasty I have beef wife had chicken

First visit took our puppy 17wks old, got lots of fuss from staff, great food, and great service, very welcoming, and friendly. A great afternoon. Well worth a visit

We bought our daughter and her husband here for lunch having been there a couple of weeks before for dinner and have to say the food was amazing cooked to perfection both times the waiter was very friendly and helpful without being invasive, we all enjoyed our meals and left feeling very satisfied customers, shame your not nearer we would use as our regular Big thank you 😊

We stopped in here without a reservation on a Saturday night at 6pm. We were greeted with a smile and promptly seated. We were expecting a simple pub grub menu but it is more restaurant quality. Not a cheap meal but well worth the money. Great food. Large fish and veggie/ vegan selection. Large wine selection. Decent beers. Dogs welcome.

Stayed over for 2 nights whilst visiting for a friends wedding close by. Will and the team couldn't have been more accommodating. Great friendly atmosphere - great food - good portions couldn't do any more for us. Well work a visit, make sure you ask for en suite.

We visited this lovely pub by the river (on the recommendation of Martyn the owner of the Coach House in Wroxham), on Monday night this week. We're so glad we went to the King's Head. In particular my meal of smoked Haddock was absolutely gorgeous. Compliments to the Chef! What I also liked was that the very attentive and friendly staff looked liked they love their jobs there too. Well done all.

We went here as a group of 6 for Sunday dinner, and the service and food was absolutely amazing. We had a couple of Vegans in our group as well as someone with several severe food allergies, and they were so accommodating and friendly and were able to provide several suitable options. On top of handling the allergy and dietary requirements, the pork roast I had was amazing - genuinely think it might be the best roast I've ever had. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Fabulous restaurant /pub, two wonderful ladies playing host, excellent ale, fabulous food... Stunningly good especially the calfs liver and mash! Yummy yummy. WOW whot an extensive menu it actually puts many top London establishments to shame! The biggest thing for me was the superb Cleanliness and freshness about the place. Sexy, romantic, up market, with food to die for!! Good parking, dog friendly a massive thumbs up for mans best friend, lovely bespoke outdoor seating NOT the usual manky outdoor rickety grubby seating that lots of local pubs provide someone has not just spent lots of dosh on this place but actually put some thoughts into it! Highly impressive and i hope locals support it as they are very lucky in this cost of living crisis to have it!!

We had an amazing Full English breakfast, including the best ever gluten free. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Popped in for breakfast. Which was the banana pancakes and the scrambled egg with salmon on sourdough. The salmon was thick cut and strongly smoked, which worked well with the scrambled eggs. The pancakes were also delicious. We had a couple of coffees which were very flavourful to wash it down. The pricing was reasonable for the quality of the food and the service was polite and efficient. The pub/restaurant part looked clean and fresh. Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay.

Had a lovely meal here today, the staff were amazing and so friendly and the food was awesome as always. The recent refurbishment has made this such a warm and welcoming place to visit and as we’re locals will be returning again very soon!

Great service, good food, lovely ambiance! Tracy was really helpful and offered a brilliant service. Food was good, we took advantage of a 2-4-1 offer (Tuesdays). Really nice patio/decking to the front, great selection of cocktails, wine and beer.

Lovely evening spent at the kings Head in Coltishall, I had fish and chips which was absolutely delicious as always. Very friendly staff, would highly recommend!

They had hardly anyone in the restaurant and yet we waited half an hour to give our order. We were not offered water or checked on prior to this. The drinks arrived 20 minutes later with an apology for the delay, which did not come across as genuine. Finally the food arrived after an hour (and it was only breakfast) and sadly the food was not cooked in the middle. Decided not to bother with anything else and received no apology. Customer service extremely poor. We will not be coming back and would not recommend it to anyone.

A good restaurant with friendly efficient service. The big drawback is the appalling parking situation. Two pubs and boat hire services all share a fairly limited car park and you are as likely to fail to get a space as to get one. We had to park some distance away and walk. This is not a major problem for the fit and healthy, but my wife has mobility problems and it was something of a trial. I'm afraid this would cause me to hesitate to book again.

We have been visiting the this restaurant for a couple of years and I must say that the meal we had was the best one we have had there. The new management and staff have got the right atmosphere and the food was excellent.

The food was good but the service was awful. Hardly anyone else in there so they weren't busy but mistakes were made with the food order, the table wasn't cleared, we were hardly checked on or asked if everything was ok and we had to continually flag staff down for extra drinks etc.

Just spent a week in the Broads and this was the best place we ate. Delicious, thank you 😋

Me and my partner popped down for a quick drink and didn’t intend to eat but after seeing the roasts we thought we would give it a go! What can I say the roast did not disappoint! The vegetables the gravy the meat were all sublime! One of the best roasts I’ve had in years! The staff were so friendly and attentive I cannot fault anything about our visit! We will definitely be back!

Been a regular lunch time diner for 25 years. Very disappointed that the new owners, have discontinued the 3 course lunchtime specials. I can go to other pubs in the village to get what they now have on the menu. I hope the owners will reconsider, and bring back the lunch special menu. If they don't, it's my opinion the will loose a lot of regulars.

Quick service, delicious food & very welcoming staff. We booked a table for 9 of us before a long walk and were all super hungry when we got back. Luckily the service was very quick and the food was to an amazing standard. Would highly recommend the burger or the fish & chips (which was HUGE!) and all staff served with a smile on their face. Will definitely return.

Had a meal at The King's Head whilst on holiday in the area with my family. Good choice of meals and there was something for everyone. I was particularly impressed with the amount of gluten free options available. Had the battered fish and chips which was the best I've ever tasted. Even the pot of curry sauce it came with was made gf. Very friendly service too and the pub has been refurbished beautifully.

Stayed 1 night on a tour of Norflok/Suffolk, very quiet area with two pub/ restaurants next to each other on the river bank. Room was comfortable, bathroom well stocked, lovely toiletries to use. Pub chatter stopped at exactly 11.30pm for a good night's sleep. Dinner was outstanding, we had the haddock and chips.

Lovely food and well presented. Will definitely be back.

I came on Saturday with my best friend for a celebratory birthday lunch. The location is beautiful and the place had been recommended to me. I had the scampi, chips and peas and my friend had the gammon, egg and chips - both were cooked...

A pub we use fairly frequently visited for the first time under new ownership. Food was good (as always) However £12.20 for a large glass of standard white wine was imo way over the top. Hence the 3 star review as nobody likes the mickey being taken. Yes I should have looked at price but as I said we do visit quite a few times a year really didn’t give it a second thought.

Food just about ok, sausage sandwich overloaded with onion marmalade which was way too sweet, made tasting the sausages difficult so scraped it off. Chips very average, don’t know what they fry them in slightly strange taste, not how a chip should taste! Sticky toffee...

Superb meal and service, we had the scampi with minted mushy peas which were the best we've tasted in Norfolk, the steak mince burger was so tasty, good portion size, the pub is nicely decorated, couldn't fault the service. Would recommend without hesitation.

Came here with my assistance dog after a lovely walk along the river. Had previously been a few years ago, however knew it was recently taken over so wanted to see what it was like. Booked in for a late Sunday lunch and it didn’t disappoint. Service was amazing from start to finish. The food was outstanding, top marks to the chef Lawrence. A relaxed but great atmosphere, Highly recommended and will definitely return.
