I went to the Chantey for a few days to see family who live in Dronfield. I was totally underwhelmed. I was there for 3 nights and not once was my bathroom cleaned. I was given a key let myself on if i got back late in the evening. I had to use it twice in the mid afternoon! Not very welcoming all locked up with no one around and when used the third time for a late evening +- 10pm the lack of suitable lighting inside outside the building was dangerous. There were no other guests for the early part of my stay, despite it being September Then we swelled to 4 more guests!! There was no mention of food i.e. lunch options for guests and when I asked my (very nice) waitress she said they didn't do lunches only Sunday Lunch. That was a pity as it was my intention to 'host' my family to a meal or two, which I did but somewhere else with a welcoming vibe. How can you call a place a HOTEL with none of the options one usually would expect. There was sign on the front step saying 'Wake Receptions Catered for ' It should do well it has the right ambiance. The ladies (staff) however were very nice. For this experience I paid £150 a night - and it still hurts

We have used the tea room quite a number of times in the past,we went there on Saturday afternoon about 1545,picked a table and food and went to order,2 adults and a child afternoon tea,it was now about 1550,and was told sorry,we stop taking irders at 1530?!?,at this point I said thank you very much and left with my family. Why are they open until 1700 and stop taking orders at 1530?!? It wasn’t as if we had asked for hot food, which I could understand! Was very disappointed,on the up side we found a very nice place on the way home who did manage to do a very nice afternoon tea for us,so all was not lost!👍🏻

A proper cosy local pub, not many of these about any more that haven’t been forced into doing food. Perfect place on a sunny day, and a great covered wooden outdoor seating area has been added since the last time I was there. Nice beer selection and crisps, what else do you need?

Food menu is very limited. I had a blt which was nice enough my other half had a burger which was again nice enough then we had halloumi fries which for us was way over done. Staff seem friendly enough the cafe is nice and clean.

Absolutely wonderful cafe, with an unbeatable location right by the scenic fishing lakes and nearby to plenty of local walks. Muddy boots and dogs are welcome, and there is outdoor seating for the warmer months, and plenty of indoor seating with a log fire burning in the colder months. The breakfast is to die for, and the cheese on toast is epic. Don’t expect fancy coffees, but very decent filter coffee, various types of tea, hot chocolate and a wide choice of cold drinks what more could you want?! I also hear that Spring through Autumn they are open on Friday and Saturday evenings and you can bring your own alcohol which would be a lovely way to spend a summers evening. Highly recommend visiting here in the way to or from a walk, where you’ll find a warm welcome and lovely friendly atmosphere. oh and they have a 5 star hygiene rating which is always good to see!

I can’t say enough good things about our wonderful experience at The Bulls Head. We booked a 5pm taster menu with wine flight, for my daughter’s birthday. There were 7 adults and a very well behaved 10 month old (of course we weren’t nervous at all!) who loved her first fine dining experience. The lovely welcome that we got from the whole team started the evening off in a great atmosphere. The food was incredible, and each accompanying wine was perfect. Staff were very knowledgeable and it really added something special to our experience learning about the food and wine. They offer a variety of dining options, and we will definitely be back again, hopefully before Christmas… can’t wait! As I have already said, all the team were just great, but a special mention to Tom, who clearly loves his role, he has the blend of friendly and helpful with total professionalism just right. A great night all round… thank you ‘Team Bulls Head’.

Returned for our anniversary meal on 20/10/24 after getting married here in 2022! We did book to come back last year but unfortunately had to cancel due to the chesterfield flooding so was so lovely to be able to return this year. Such a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere and brought back the best memories of our special day. We had Sunday lunch and the food was incredible, plenty to go at and every bit tasted amazing. All the team were great but a big special mention to Lynne - so down to earth, friendly yet still professional and gives the best customer service (lynne was also our wedding coordinator and I don’t know what we would have done without her on the day!!) Keep up the great work, the Fox and Goose holds a special place in our hearts and we hope to return next year for our 3rd anniversary ❤️

Such a lovely cosy pub with a coal/log fire and dog friendly. The food and drinks were very good value. I had an amazingly simple yet delicious burger for £9. My friend had a fish and chips from the light bites menu which was £6 and it did not disappoint. They have darts, board games and a pool table. I will be back! Lovely chatty landlady.
