The best restaurants serving British food in North East Derbyshire East Midlands

This is a lovely pub but you pay well over the odds for your drinks compared to other local pubs you will pay over a £1 more per pint. This I wouldn't mind but the last couple of times I have been the pub has been ice cold with no heating also opening hours are very restricted and very little option on food

Excellent food as always this was our third visit and the service by the team including Charlotte and Annie was great. Best yet!!

As others have mentioned there is no signage for this place so we did wonder if we’d even reached the right venue. On arrival we appeared to have arrived at the same time as the family that own this venue. A dog was allowed to run around in the restaurant, as people helped themselves to drinks from behind the bar, all very odd. The Sunday lunch was ok, beef a little fatty for our liking with some really tough gristle running through it, but the pork and chicken were nice enough. Although for £35 a head chicken seemed like a cheap cop out to bulk plates up. The veg was good and varied. Desserts were poor, I’m pretty sure my brownie was a popular brand bought from a supermarket and the meringue in the Eton mess also appeared to have been bought in. It was hard to justify the £35 a head. All in all food was ok, I doubt we’ll be rushing back but you can’t please everyone.

Food menu is very limited. I had a blt which was nice enough my other half had a burger which was again nice enough then we had halloumi fries which for us was way over done. Staff seem friendly enough the cafe is nice and clean.

Very pleasant atmosphere in the farm yard for a cuppa 😎. Nice shop too....

My husband and I had our wedding reception here. We had a lovely time and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Our guests complimented the food saying it was delicious. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our day and would like to thank Lynne and the team for all their help throughout the day and leading up to it.

This used to be a lovely clean pub. The toilets were more than disgusting,hand marks all over the doors ,😷 dust and generally dirty. The pub is not much better with dust on the window sills floor filthy don't think cleaned from night before. And we went in the evening. The staff couldn't care less and so miserable . Food was average and we were a large party. With unhelpful staff. Sack your cleaners and sort your staff In need of some TLC. Very out dated. Wont be going back. And we all 16 of us thought the same. Food expensive. Pre booked a table Even pre booked our food,😞

Excellent beer and good honest food - the loaded chip cobs are particularly good.

Scabby chips and not as tasty as they used to be before new owners. Was amazing last time I came and couldn't get parked on main road and queing out of the shop door. Sad to say, during this visit it was a ghost town and I wonder why?

Bueno, ¿qué puedo decir, vamos con frecuencia a este pub para comidas más libres de alérgenos , sin gluten, sin lácteos , veganos y siempre han atendido todas nuestras necesidades y por eso fuimos a tomar el asado normal del domingo. Sin embargo hoy nos enteramos de que el local ha cambiado de propietario y ahora ya no atiende a los alérgenos. El menú ha cambiado completamente (para mal) ahora, el menú contiene gluten, lácteos, etc, resultando que las comidas que terminamos con no era aceptable, mi esposa al estar libre de gluten / lácteos se le dijo que no podía tener cierta verdura ya que se cocinaba o se cubría con productos lácteos , yorkshire puds y salsa ahora hecho con gluten, cuñada en la ley siendo vegana terminó con patatas fritas y aros de cebolla. No había ayuda con la comida alternativa ni siquiera para intentar cocinar la comida por separado , que pena , este fue en su día un pub único con su comida. Y para colmo, pagamos la mitad de las comidas.

We visited for the second time this evening, both times were lovely, we had a main and pudding the first time, the sticky toffee pudding was the best. We couldn’t fit a pudding in the second time after the homemade steak and ale pie. We had great service by Sue both times, thank you.
