This place was recommended by Deb from Tree tops stone haven and what a wonderful experience. The sunday lunch was amazing the staff kind and caring even the chef 🧑‍🍳 came over to ask if everything was okay nice touch. Will i return absolutely 💯 x

Had a party here for family and friends the location is just beautiful and the food and staff were excellent it’s the perfection setting for a party, especially on a summers day ! Also has fabulous holiday cottages for guest to stay over just perfect

A massive thank to Christina, Lee and all the staff at Barlow Woodseats Hall for everything they did to make our wedding day so amazing. Everything was planned and organised so well, everyone was so friendly and attentive to our needs and our wedding breakfast was so delicious. It really made our day even more special, and we cannot thank the team enough. Barlow Woodseats Hall is such a beautiful venue, and all the guests were so complimentary of our wedding day and the setting.

Excellent food, beautiful venue. Just check your route there first. The post code in my sat nav took me to where I could hear the peacocks in their garden, but with no way to drive in. Happily I was rescued by some very kind ramblers and the route was actually very straightforward.

Was really disappointed - had been for a 50th party years ago & was excited to go back for Special Sunday lunch for my mums birthday. The setting is lovely, food ok if a little overpriced but felt staff were untrained & uninterested - a few things little things happened - felt the staff outfits were scruffy for such a nice place, desert was thrown at us, excuses were made, toilets unchecked - no loo roll, staff clearly seen outside glass doors vaping on duty & no particular attention or anyone looking after us for our special occasion. Had to ask if we were getting drinks then server forgot 2 of us, people were constantly dropping things & knocking our chairs on the way through just felt things were a bit rushed & haphazard - maybe too many people booked in? Decided to leave & go home for cake - such a shame as this place could be amazing!

We went to Barlow Woodseats Hall for Sunday lunch with a large family party of 14 adults and two young children. It was great and most memorable for all the right reasons. The staff are lovely , surroundings magnificent and the food was superb. The food was fresh, piping hot, and well presented. We couldn’t have had a better experience anywhere.

The morals of this business leave a lot to be desired

If you have a cat or a dog, or just care about animals then you may want to really think twice about booking this venue for your special day as they support the illegal activity of fox hunting. They block anyone who comments on their Facebook page or trys to leave a TripAdvisor review. But the truth is if you celebrate your wedding or whatever here, you are indirectly supporting fox hunting and animal cruelty. Blood money.

Would definitely not recommend this place.

A hypocritical place that shows beautiful scenery and animals yet host hunt scum to terrorise and tear apart foxes and other wildlife. Shame on you! Definitely don't recommend!!

Hypocrisy at it's finest. Posts pictures all over their social media of the wildlife in the area yet hosts an event for a Hunt who's well renowned for killing said wildlife. If you have any morals I would avoid this place like the plague.

How can they hold a hunt ball who rip wildlife apart when trying to sell the venue as a nice wildlife country house. All about greed and zero morals.

Advertise as a beautiful country side location but yet host the hunt ball for the hunters? How awful.

Pretends to love wildlife but then hosts the Barlow Hunt ball even though other venues refused to host it because they kill wildlife. Money over compassion do not book this venue if you are against cruelty and fox hunting

Fantastic venue, but the service behind the bar was slow. Lots of people seemed to be behind the bar, but few actually serving. Food was OK, nothing spectacular.

The only thing I did not like is the drinks are far to expensive.

We had a superb time here today for Sunday lunch. We were late and the staff were very understanding and accommodating. The barn is beautiful, cosy and warm. The food was excellent. We can’t recommend it enough. Back again soon, thank you.

Fabulous wedding venue, our Grandaughter had a fairytale wedding ceremony. The cottages are lovely, comfortable.

I was lucky enough to be invited to a wedding at Barlow Hall on a glorious summers day and it was truly idyllic! A beautiful venue and the wisteria is absolutely stunning! Dinner in the barn was fantastic and in the evening we had a pizza oven in the garden! Access is a bit tricky as the road is one track… oh and make sure you follow their directions and not the sat nav!

We had our wedding here in August 2023. I can’t thank BW Hall enough. It was even better than we could have hoped for. The venue was stunning, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Lee and Christina were amazing throughout the whole process.

We cannot recommend Barlow Woodseats Hall as a wedding venue more. We got married here in July 2023 and from start to finish we had the wedding of our dreams. Lee and Christina were absolutely fantastic to work with, nothing was too much effort and they were seamlessly professional throughout the whole day. We recently had our wedding at Barlow Woodseats Hall and loved every minute! Christina, Lee and all the staff made sure we had a perfect day at their beautiful venue. The food was gorgeous and being able to stay on site made everything much more relaxing. Thank you!

We took a bouncy castle here yesterday for a Christening. Its a lovely venue. Staff was nice. And the peacocks was a shock 😲

Went with great expectations for sunday lunch but was sadly disappointed, not in the same league or level as the peacock at barlow or bulls head monyash. Gravy was like water, so I asked for thicker gravy. All meats served on a sharing plate, I think all of us were pretty disappointed in the overall experience, but unless you try, you can't see if it's for you or not. Had Eton mess for dessert, but again, nothing like I had had in other pubs, so I'm not impressed again. I think the approach was very much on what they would provide at weddings. Overall , as a party of 4 all of us drew the same opinions.

Best Sunday Lunch I have had in a long time. Very large portions.

Lovely accommodation, they do tapas on a Friday night and amazing Sunday dinner meat platters.

Beautiful wedding venue. We held our wedding here in May 2022. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique venue. The whole team worked really hard to make sure we had a very special day. The food is excellent!

We've had several Sunday lunches at the Woodseats since moving to nearby Newbold. Always superb quality dining, plenty (too much?) quantity, friendly service, and lovely ambience. My wife is a fan of their chocolate dessert! Would be great if the restaurant was open more days...

First time here for Sunday lunch and I was blown away! Every part of my experience here was enjoyable. Fantastic service. Seated quickly. Food was quick and I was left speechless. Potentially the best Sunday dinner I have ever had. Waiters were exceptional. Will not definitely be visiting this venue again. Looking forward to tapas night!

Simply Amazing venue!! I was lucky enough to marry the love of my life here yesterday and it will be a day we'll never forget for the rest of our lives. I happened across Barlow woodseats hall on hitched website and once I visited and saw the barn there was no where else I would have wanted my wedding. from the moment I got of the car to be greeted by their handsome dog Basil I had a great feeling about the venue then when my now husband and I stepped foot in the barn we knew it was the place for us. Christina, Lee & Nick are fabulous hosts and will go out of their way to make sure your wedding day goes smoothly. Lee's food was simply superb and everyone commented on it. So from both of us... heartfelt thanks for such an amazing day x

We had our wedding at Barlow Woodseats Hall in August 2021 and it was the most amazing venue. The barn and garden are beautiful and being able to stay on site in the cottages made the weekend really special. In addition, Nick, Christina and Lee were so friendly and accommodating, and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, providing help and guidance as well as recommending a local ceilidh band. They were happy to make the wedding fully vegan and the food was excellent. It was everything we could have hoped for and more.
