The best restaurants serving British food in England

Staff were nice and friendly. My beef salad was better than what I had in other restaurants On a side note my relative who is hard to please would give it 5 stars

Visited this pub on from a recommendation off someone else and it did not disappoint! On arrival we were greeted with a smile from behind the bar and a lovely open fire, perfect. We sat at the bar with a couple of drinks while we were waiting for our table, while waiting we were given the menu to look through and given some canapés which were delicious. After these we were shown to our table, it wasn’t very busy in the restaurant area but still a pleasant atmosphere. The food was incredible, many different flavours and we left the chef the best review of 2 empty plates. After dinner we wanted to continue our night and moved into the lounge area without any fuss from the staff. While in the lounge area the happy man from behind the bar came and lit the log burner next to us to help keep us warm and cosy. As we were enjoying our drinks we were brought another canapé of mini desserts, love the nice little touches. Overall it was a very pleasant evening and I could not fault anything from the welcome to the goodbye and everything in between! We will definitely be stopping around there again and will definitely be returning.

No wheelchair access we were looking at starting a business venture there but with no disabled access it's not something that we are interested in

14/2/25... I was enroute home from an appointment in Shoreham & felt sure that I would have to call in for a quick ☕ &🍰 stop😊👍.. Warmly greeted by Frankie & shortly after I was sat, a nice ☕ & 🍰 arrived 😋😋.. As I've mentioned on previous reviews, Frankie & her team always do their best to provide a consistent level of service..😊👍.. See you soon...👍

Nothing not to like Always go for Sunday dinner, never any problems would thoroughly recommend.

Went at 6.30 pm Sunday quite but service was great 👍 food was excellent prawn puri to start followed by lovely fish curry +red leicester nan .didn't want it to end !

I’ve eaten a lot of calamari in my life, but my small plate at number 35, was the best ever! A lovely, no fuss, small venue with excellent food and service.

Wowza, I’ve just had a stunning take away Sunday lunch. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Whilst it was the Sam’s 1st shift he was timely, friendly and remembered my name and order. Well done to all the team at the village inn.

One of the best Rocky Road's ever!!!! Coffee rather weak....I'd ask for an extra shot next time. Lovely atmosphere. Staff very friendly, welcoming and polite.

We had a good night at Flanagan's to celebrate one of our friends birthdays. Kelly Burke was playing and he was fantastic as always and helped make the evening go with a swing. We all dined beforehand and, although I enjoyed my food, some of our party weren't so taken with theirs but we still all had a good time. In summary Flanagan's is a great music venue with great views of the pier and Sandown seafront and serves good reasonably priced food.

We don’t come often enough. We have been coming over many years and the quality of food is exceptional. This, coupled with friendly service in a lovely setting make this restaurant a MUST if you are in the area

Would have been a 5 out of 5 but breakfast was spoiled by slow and poor service. Dirty uncleared tables and the long wait for food was not acceptable. Just told they had a 16 in another room so that was why after waiting half an hour. 1. Welcome at hotel 5 / 5 2. Bar staff 5 / 5 3. Cleanliness 5 / 5 4. Room 4 / 5 a bit noisy not very soundproof but good otherwise 5. Breakfast. 1 / 5 service poor but eventually poached eggs on toast very good by going in kitchen and talking to chef. No apologies or explanation we were just left to ourselves in an empty restaurant. I had to go into kitchen and ask the chef for the food and it was then sorted by him.

Had a beautiful lunch on Saturday at The Crown. The staff are amazing, very warm and friendly. 10 out of 10. Can’t get better than that!
