The best restaurants in England

We've been here a few times but, since we last went, the owners have made the decision to be mainly takeout with a small amount of seating indoors and outside. We really wanted to dine in or sit outside and, with the outdoor seating being very popular today due to the sunshine, we opted to sit on the very comfortable bar stools at the side. Our yummy lunch was delivered in minutes and it was well presented in a little basket. I opted to get a takeaway coffee to take back to the car and it was delicious (and in a fully compostable cup). I thoroughly recommend the flat white and biscuit syrup which takes like biscoff. Overall, our experience was wonderful and it's clear that the staff really care about their customers and are super helpful. Thanks to all three of you for such as lovely lunch.

Eaten here a couple of times now and always been pleased. On this occasion we had lunch (had an excellent breakfast last time) and liked the quantity and quality. One personal preference was that a side salad garnish was made from fresh, tasty, crisp Iceberg lettuce which made a lovely change from other eateries serving nasty, bitty, feathery types of greenery. Well done Sun Beck! There was easy parking and lovely views over farmland and the cafe interior was light, bright and clean.

For a small van this is the best in the city! Value for money is amazing and the food tastes great! The staff are excellent and very friendly.

Sometimes Indian food from a takeaway can taste a bit 'samey' regardless of what curry you order. Here, it was very refreshing! The chef specials are definitely creative - chops hand was standout and the Keema pop fun! Quick service too.

Dropped in on recommendation from Nathan at Premier Seafoods and what a great suggestion this was. My wife chose the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs while I opted for smoked haddock and poached eggs. Beautiful smoked fish from Enderby 100 yards away. My poached eggs weren’t runny but that’s a minor point. Coffee and service was top notch too. We’re returning to try the haddock and chips which looked so good!

Lovely roasts with plenty of extra vegetables and cauliflower cheese. I had gorgeous hake and a huge cheese board. The staff easily coped with one of our number being very late... and some of our group choosing a starter for dessert 🤷 Splendid ales too.

What an absolute gem this is, poached egg on sourdough was perfect! just what was needed after the #sueryderboltonabbeyrun, Hubby jealous for the bread as doesnt come with sausage sandwich🤣. Cakes gorgeous, service fab, especially the singing in the kitchen! Will be back next year...if not before Thankyou

Proper sour dough without the nasties! Worth the walk a couple of times a week and freezes well. The pastries as a delectable treat.

WOW what a place…can only describe as a local bar ..great vibe..with locally grown fruit and veg on sale to support our five a day….genius. Plus have the CLEANEST bogs on the Pantiles.

En una tarde de febrero amargamente frío mi hermano gemelo y yo estábamos pub y bar dando vueltas por esta parte de la ciudad cuando decidimos pasar por Scruffy Murphy's Pub , hemos estado aquí antes en muchas ocasiones, siempre lo pasamos bien y así lo demostró en nuestra última visita a aquí. Un pub de gran aspecto, un encantador interior tradicional, un bar de servicio de madera maciza domina la sala principal, excelente decoración y mobiliario, mesas de billar, pantallas grandes para disfrutar del deporte y un montón de opciones de asientos repartidos por todo este pub, es solo un pub muy bueno para relajarse. Golpeamos aquí en su magnífica happy hour de lunes a viernes, mediodía hasta las 6 pm, pedimos pintas de cerveza de Carling Brewery, estas se sirvieron en excelentes condiciones siendo heladas frías y espumosas y como bono adicional £ 2. 60 p la pinta , increíble relación calidad-precio para el centro de Liverpool, nos relajamos y calentamos mientras bebíamos nuestras cervezas. Mi cerveza era excelente, dorada, de lúpulo, llena de sabor y muy fácil de beber, cuando esta cerveza se sirve helada fría como en este pub es una cerveza tan deliciosa en efecto. Realmente disfrutamos de nuestras cervezas aquí y el gran ambiente tanto que terminamos quedándonos por otra cerveza cada uno antes de seguir adelante y aunque nuestra visita fue solo fugaz como en cada otra visita a Scruffy Murphy tuvimos una gran. Scruffy Murphy's es fácil de localizar en Mathew Street. El horario de apertura es; Lunes a domingo, mediodía hasta las 2 am. Vale la pena comprobar si estás en la zona.

Tuvimos un gran tiempo en Sonya! El menú tiene un montón de grandes opciones y la comida era fantástica. El restaurante es muy lindo y acogedor - es el lugar perfecto para un brunch! Tuvimos un pequeño problema con uno de nuestros pedidos, pero el personal era increíblemente servicial y muy agradable. Fueron más allá. Recomiendo encarecidamente y sin duda volveremos!

Amazing dinner here - loved the decor/style, felt like we had been transported to somewhere in France, small and cosy, intimate and just loved the little bustling bar at the front of the restaurant. Food was amazing - everything so good, including the fabulous home baked sourdough. This is a place for a special occasion and we will be back. Think they are open for lunch too and interested to try that.

Second time we have been after first time having a lovely breakfast. This time for lunch and again we weren't disappointed. I had the best ever club sandwich which was so filling I didn't eat for the rest of the day. The food is fantastic and value for money. Service is good and friendly. Just a lovely place to eat and only a stone throw away from home. Recommend to anyone go here even if its just for breakfast. Will be back soon. Thank you T by the Sea.
