The best restaurants serving British food in England

Food as always excellent, well done, but it was a beautiful day & sat in the garden, we were very disappointed as it is in need of a mow, definitely let’s the pub down which is a real shame as I would always recommend for food.

Visited this pub again after many years. Lovely homely pub. Very quiet. Guy behind bar very attentive and friendly. I had small fish and chips which came with mushy peas and chunky (homemade?) tartare - which wasn’t my cup of tea to be honest - fish was nice though. Husband had pie and chips. We both chose sticky toffee pudding - but unfortunately and strangely one half of my pudding was stone cold and other side warm/hot? But it was nice.

Excellent friendly service and beautiful fish and chips, best in Brighton. Thank you Captain the fish is so fresh and the batter is crispy light and delicious.

Fantastic fish and chips. We had place, haddock and cod meals. Best fish and chips in the world. If you want to eat in make sure you book or you will probably need to wait for a table. Staff are friendly and polite. See you soon Tom

Beautiful pub. Zoe was really helpful in regards to the allergies a couple of people in our group had. Super dog friendly too. The food was delicious. Would definitely come back, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a cozy place to grab a bite to eat with friends and family (and furry family)!

Absolutely loved this little cafe! It was so cute inside, with the perfect retro vibes and beautiful window seats that made for such a cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious—super comforting and full of flavour—and the milkshakes were amazing( and adorable too!). Service was friendly, fast, and super welcoming. Definitely one of those hidden gems you’re glad you found. Can’t wait to come back!

Great pub, tasteful design, wonderful food & good cocktails. All staff were very friendly. Would definitely come back :)

We went for brunch as a family and waited 25 minutes for below average food. Fluffy pancakes were served and they were similar to paving slabs of heavy victoria sponge cakes. Not fluffy in the slightest. My filled croissant was super fatty and I could only eat half. Coffee was good though but certainly not the wait

Booked for Saturday dinner. Got to the restaurant only to find it had been closed for months. They kept sending us reminders about our booking as well. Disgraceful.

The staff were wonderful and my gosh the food was absolutely delicious!! Such a hidden gem!

The whole place was all lovely and clean. Many thanks to Chef Jenny for a lovely full English breakfast. Also many thanks to Anne and Ioana for making our stay that even more special! Will 100% be coming back.

Afternoon tea was delicious, nice atmosphere. Will return however be careful walking on the polished wooden floor. It's a slip hazard. Apparently I've been informed that it's been known for a slippy floor. Just be careful!
